* Three Days Later *
Naruto stood in a huge room with a statue of a ninja doing a hand sign, a metal rectangle above it and then the Hokage to the side with Anko and Ibiki. Naruto saw the Hokage sign then heard " As you are here you have passed the second exam. To this I shall tell you the truth about the exams. See, these exams are basically war. We use this to show off to heighten clients that have the most money or power. The villages made this exam so we don't go into true war. In doing so I leave this part to this practor." Naruto saw a Ninja appear and heard " My name Hayate and I'll be the proctor of the preliminary exams." Naruto was confused by this explanation when he heard a ninja say " Isn't this the third exam?" Naruto saw Hayate shake his head then heard " The third exam is a one on one battle in front of a lot of people. People do get bored and with this number would so we are cutting you in half having one on one battles. I don't know why I'm here as there are no rules but I am. Your name will be randomly selected and shown on this board." Naruto saw Hayate point at the metal rectangle and it slid up with a digital board.
Naruto saw Hayate looking back and heard " Everyone up on the balcony." Naruto nodded, then walked over to the stairs after some people left due to injuries. Naruto saw the board light up then after seeing it stop flashing read: Sasuke Uchiha Vs. Yoroi Akado.
(To let you know not all of the fights are the same as cannon but some are so I'll just tell the winner if they are from cannon. There is a match that has an easy winner so I'll just tell the winner. )
Sasuke Uchiha vs. Yoroi Akado: Winner Sasuke Uchiha
Zaku Abumi vs. Shino Aburame: Winner Shino
Misumi Tsurugi vs. Kankuro: Winner Kankuro
Sakura Haruno vs. Ino Yamanaka: Double knockout
Tenten vs. Temari: Winner Temari
Shikamaru looked at Temari seeing her walk back up and couldn't help but be impressed. Shikamaru then felt a tap on his shoulder so he looked at the board and read: Shikamaru Nara vs. Kiba Inuzuka. Shikamaru sighed then said " Troublesome." Shikamaru then walked down. Shikamaru looked at Kiba, seeing him smirk, then heard " Ready to be defeated." Shikamaru smirked when he heard Hayate say " Start." Shikamaru just stood there looking at Kiba just to see him charge. Shikamaru stepped to the side dodging a punch. Shikamaru kicked Kiba in the butt then said " What mutt you can't catch me?" Shikamaru saw Kiba turn around so he quickly did hand signs surprising Kiba then said " Wind Style great Breakthrough." Shikamaru saw Kiba fly back and hit the wall. Shikamaru saw Kiba stand up then hand signs and heard " Beast Human Clone."
Shikamaru saw Akamaru transform into Kiba then he saw them both do hand signs then heard " Fang over Fang." Shikamaru saw Akamaru and Kiba jump then turn into two mini tornadoes going after him. Shikamaru jumped to the side then did some more hand signs then said " Shadow Style Shadow Field." Shikamaru saw a circle of shadow go around him and under oath of the Kibas. Shikamaru sighed and stood up, then he said " Summit." Shikamaru saw Kiba try to move so he backed slowly and after a little while stopped. Shikamaru drew out a kunai seeing Kiba do the same as Akamaru already turning back to a dog. Shikamaru saw Kiba shook then heard " It will hurt as both. Shikamaru chuckled then threw the kunai seeing Kiba doing the same then after seeing Kiba's kunai getting close he bent back his hands touching the ground. Shikamaru saw the kunai hit the wall so he stood back up and looked at Kiba seeing him knocked out as when Kiba bent back his head hit the wall. Shikamaru stopped his jutsu then looked at Hayate hearing " Winner Shikamaru Nara." Shikamaru nodded then walked up to the stand seeing Naruto smile so he said " Yea yea yea you rubbed off on me." Shikamaru saw Naruto chuckle so he sighed.
Neji Hyuga vs. Kin Tsuchi: Winner Neji Hyuga
Gaara vs. Rock Lee: winner Gaara
Dosu Kinuta vs. Choji Akimichi
Naruto looked at Choji as he walked up and as he saw Choji pass him he looked at him and said " You gave it your all and that is all that matters." Naruto saw Choji just nod with a sad smile so he said " Don't worry I'll get everyone and we will train double time with you." Naruto saw Choji nod so he looked back when his eyes widened realizing who he had to fight. Naruto looked at Hinata just to see a smile so he smiled then he hopped down to the fighting floor. Naruto looked at Hinata as she pulled out her bow staff and rested it on your shoulder so he pulled out his bow.
Naruto looked at Hinata when he heard Hayate say " Start." Naruto saw Hinata charge but he drew two arrows and fired to see Hinata hit them then go for a strike but he dodged. Naruto got to the side of Hinata so he punched her in the ribs. Naruto ducked under the staff then he came up and kicked her in the stomach. Naruto saw Hinata stumble back just to see the staff be whipped through the air then he flew back as a gust of wind hit his chest. Naruto yelled as his back hit the wall then as he got up he looked at Hinata seeing her worried so he smiled which made her smile. Naruto smiled as he brought one hand to his chest then he did a one hand hand sign that shocked his girlfriend. Naruto then bolted at her saying " Water Style Hidden Mist Jutsu." Naruto saw Mist surround him and Hinata blinding all of the watchers. Naruto punches Hinata in the gut then kicks her in the ribs. Naruto ducked under her staff then went for a strike just to see her whip it in the air above her head 360 degrees. Naruto jumped back as the mist disappeared.
Naruto saw Hinata smirk at him so he sighed and grabbed his bow. Naruto then charged just to duck under her staff. Naruto punches Hinata in the ribs then grabs an arrow and knocks it wanting to fire at Hinata but has to dodge an attack. Naruto drew his bow back just for his hand to be hit which let him fire next to Hinata cutting her leg. Naruto just moved to the side dodging the staff then he dodged another attack to see Hinata's arm just drop to the side. Naruto smirked, then looked at his arrow, seeing two orange fletchlings and one red fletchling instead of black. Naruto saw Hinata look at him so he said " Paralyzation poison is not deadly." Naruto saw Hinata nod then he saw her go for a punch with his other hand. Naruto grabbed the wrist then kicked her in the stomach which made her fall to the ground. Naruto looked at Hinata seeing her not able to move so he looked at Hayate hearing " Winner Naruto Umino." Naruto smiled then crouched as he reached into his kunai pouch. Naruto pulled out a leather item that is folded then after unfolding it seeing syringes about ten he grabbed one knowing it's the antidote for the poison. Naruto took Hinata's arm and stuck needles in her arm then injected the antidote.
Naruto smiled, putting the syringe back and said " You should gain everything soon. Naruto turned around to feel arms around his neck and Hinata's lips against his. Naruto closed his eyes as he melted into the kiss and after a couple of seconds he felt Hinata pull back so he smiled when he realized where he was so he looked around with a blush then back at Hinata seeing her do the same. Naruto stood up and stood there as he heard Hiruzen say " All winners come to the fighting area." Naruto saw the other seven winners walk down then after drawing numbers he heard " Ok here are the matches for the third exam that is in one month." Naruto just nodded and then heard " Match one is Naruto Umino vs. Sasuke Uchiha. Match two is Kankuro vs. Shino Ambrama. Match three is Temari vs. Dosu Kinuta. Match four is Gaara vs. Neji Hyuga. Match five is Shikamaru Nara vs winner of match one. Match six is the winner of match five and the winner of match 2. Match seven is the winner of match three and the winner of match four. Match eight is the winner of match six and winner of match seven."
Naruto nodded, then looked at the Hokage hearing " See you in one month." Naruto saw the Hokage disappear so he turned to see Kurenai and heard " We need to talk." Naruto nodded nervously just to see Kurenai smile and heard " I'm joking just don't hurt her." Naruto nodded then he looked at Hinata and walked to her then they both walked off. Naruto was getting to the exit when he heard " Naruto." Naruto turned to look at Kakashi in confusion then said " Hold on." Naruto looked at Hinata and smiled seeing her nod then walk off. Naruto walked in front of Kakashi seeing him sigh then heard " Truth is that my sensei was family and your legacy. I really wanted you on my team because of that but I didn't get what I wanted. I was going to teach Sasuke a jutsu but his affinity is fire." Naruto nodded, then saw him hold out a scroll and heard " This is the jutsu and I learned that you have a lighting and Wind affinity." Naruto nodded then heard " I get it if you don't want to truly know me as your my sensei's legacy and I did shit but at the end of the exams maybe I can train you every once and awhile." Naruto nodded and said, " Sure Kakashi." Naruto then held the scroll then looked at Kakashi and said " Also don't hate you." Naruto then walked off back to Hinata and smiled then headed away with his girlfriend.
* Next Day *
Naruto sighed as he entered the Hokage's office and said as he closed the door " Jiji you wanted to talk to me?" Naruto looked up and to his surprise saw Hiruzen and Jariya of the Sannin. Naruto saw Hiruzen nod then heard " I heard Shikamaru is training with his father and Kurenai couldn't really teach you so I got Jariya my student and he has agreed to teach you." Naruto looked at him and then heard " We will work on conducting and using the Kyuubi's power." Naruto shook his head and said " Nope, I 'd rather train by myself." Naruto saw Jariya confuse so he said " You think as the Kyuubi as a demon and I mean you're not wrong he has the power of one but his power isn't my power and I keep my word so if I say I want his consent to use his power and if he doesn't allow I won't use it." Naruto saw Jariya sigh then heard " Kid you don't see the pain that fox has brought you." Naruto chuckled and then said " No, that was the fourth's fault, not the fox." Naruto channeled Kyuubi's chakra at that and thought ' Can I spill a little of your past?'
Naruto heard a grunt which was a yes so he stopped channeling the chakra then said " Thy Kyuubi begged to be let go and wouldn't do anything to humans but the fourth didn't care. It's not the foxes fault." Naruto saw Jariya just nod then heard " Well I can't really teach you anything else maybe beside the summoning jutsu if the toads allow it." Naruto nodded at that when he said " I'm also planning on training with the Kyuubi." Naruto saw Jariya nod then heard " Fine." Naruto chuckled and then heard " I'm also here to help with what is going on in Konoha and my teammate." Naruto nodded and said " I have a jutsu you might be able to help me on." Naruto saw Jariya nod so he said " Chidori." Naruto saw Jariya confused so he held up the scroll Kakashi gave him and said " Let's just say Kakashi wanted someone to learn his jutsu." Naruto saw Jariya smile and heard " Well then if you can master that then I have another jutsu later you can master." Naruto nodded and said, " Well, let's go train." Naruto saw Jariya nod when he felt pain in his head so he said " I'll meet you at training ground 23. I have something to do first. Naruto then disappeared in poof of smoke.
Naruto sighed as he entered his room and just sat down on his bed. Naruto closed his eyes just to open them to find himself in his mindscape. Naruto looked around Kyuubi to hear " I have a gift." Naruto saw Kyuubi toss a big scroll to his feet so he said " What's this?" Naruto saw the Kyuubi sign then heard " Then heard " A summoning contract to me. You can't summon all of me. Once you sign this and summon me I will have the real scroll and you can take it." Naruto nodded and said " Kyuubi thank you truly and I won't summon you for every fight and if you want you can summon you just to stretch your legs." Naruto saw the Kyuubi nod then heard " Kid call me Kurama." Naruto's eyes widened and then said " Ok Kurama." Naruto saw Kyuubi nod so Naruto smiled when he said " I just realized I might not summon all of you." Naruto saw the Kyuubi confused so he said " My seal restricts me from using all of your chakra when I channel it so I might not summon the full you unless I open it which I promise will happen soon." Naruto saw the Kyuubi nod so he said " Also it's not you it's just in case you are controlled by Sasuke or Itachi I have the power to defeat you."
Naruto saw Kurama nod then heard " You can also tell your friends my name." Naruto nodded with another smile and said " Ok." Naruto then turned about to leave when he said " Kurama." Naruto looked back at the fox and said " Thank you for trusting me like this." Naruto saw Kurama nod so he smiled then left his mindscape.
