"Nooo!", was all she could cry out as she dropped on her knees, tears streaming down her face. Her sister Nani kneeled down beside her and gently stroked her trembling back, "Oh, Lilo...I know how you feel, but-". "Why me?!".
Nani sighed, "You know, you can't always say 'Why me?!'. You have to say, 'Try me'". "I'd rather say 'Kill me'!", Lilo exclaimed. "Aw, come on, Lilo!", said Nani, "It's just an experiment". "An experiment?!", she asked, "They're taking us to an actual orphanage! How could that be an experiment?!".
"Well", said Nani, "So they can know if...we can take care of you guys-". Lilo hugged her, "I don't wanna go away from you! I don't need any experiment to proove that you can take care of me!".
Nani sighed again, "Ok, think of it this way. Have you ever been anywhere other than Hawaii?". "No". "So, now you'll get to see a little bit of Los Angeles-" "Los Angeles?! That's too far away, are you going to visit me?". "Of course", said Nani with a smile.
A longer period of time had passed since Lilo had last seen her bullies. That though, made her never want to see them again. Those heavy insults she had to face almost every day...then those "Yeeahs"...she just couldn't stand it anymore.
And now she was going to that dull orphanage in Los Angeles. There were going to be some new kids, who probably wouldn't accept her either. Ah, how much she didn't want to go...but she had no choice. Or...did she?
A few days later, the orphanage Lilo was going to sent them some kind of a uniform for her to put on. It was a dark blue t-shirt and a pair of yellow shorts. Lilo put it on and was actually ready to go. The social worker, Cobra Bubbles, whom she had already met, was picking her up.
"Nani...", she asked while her sister was brushing her ebony black hair with purple strands, "Do I really have to go?". "Come on Lilo", said Nani, "You know it's only a month". "That's too long", said Lilo, "They'll kill me there!". "Ok", said Nani, "If anything, but anything like that happens, call me".
A navy blue car parked in front of the big blue and yellow house and a tall man exited. He was tan skinned and bald, wore all black and had black sunglasses. The man climbed up the stairs and knocked on the wooden brown door.
"Coming!", a young female voice could be heard from the inside. She quickly paced towards the door, holding her little sister's hand. "Oh, good morning!", she greeted, her smile showing an enormous number of teetch as white as snow, then turned to her little sister, "Lilo, please say hello to Mr. Bubbles, will you?".
Lilo smiled a little and waved, "Hi". She sounded happy, while in reallity, she didn't even feel excited. She felt nervous, scared and hurt. She had a yellow backpack on her back.
"I see you're ready to go", said Cobra in his deep voice. Lilo hugged her sister, "I'll miss you". "I'll miss you too", said Nani, wiping a tear from Lilo's face. Then they let go and Cobra took Lilo's hand.
