"Alright, kids!", said that lady who saw Lilo that day, "Here's your routine plan. Getting up at 7, breakfast at 7:30, movie lot visit at 8...". Mertle listened to all of this and groaned silently at the mention of the movie lot.
No way! That's like the last place I wanna go to! It's so boring there!
After the lady showed them the schedule, the kids were introduced to their roommate and sent to their rooms. Mertle just happened to be with a blonde teenage girl wearing all pink. "Nice outfit", Mertle complimented. "Thanks", said the girl, "I'm Katie, by the way. I mean, they call me Katie KaBoom". "What?!".
Mertle slapped herself. It couldn't get any weirder. "Listen!", said Katie firmly, "I'm older than you, and you have no right to do this! I'm in charge now, understood?". Mertle stared blankly at her. "How old are you?" "16".
Katie unpacked her things and layed on her bed, "Do you even have any idea why you're here?". "So they can proove that my mom can take care of me and-". "And so you can stop calling everyone weird and be a spoiled brat". Mertle scoffed, "I don't call everyone weird". "Whatever. You have to stop girl. If you want to hang out with kids your age. And I think it's a perfect time to learn that at your age".
Mertle collapsed on her bed as well, staring into space and thinking of what her new roommate had just told her. No, she wasn't going to let them turn her into some emotional kid who listenes to everyone and behaves like a princess. She was capable of doing anything to get those who bothered her out of her life. And she knew exactly who that was.
"Hi Scratchy!", Dot greeted as she came to the psychiatry building with her brother. Lilo looked at the two toons standing before her. One was tall, looked like a bunny and wore only brown slacks. The other was shorter, looked like a cat, wore only a pink skirt and her ears were tied with a pink and yellow flower.
"Yakko, Dot, this is Lilo", said Scratchy, "She came here from Hawaii and she has a problem, so I hope you guys will accept her into your home and help". "Nice to meet you", they said and shoock hands with her. She stared blankly at them, wondering where Wakko was. "Ok, I think we should get going, Wakko's waiting outside", said Yakko. Lilo's face lit up when she heard that.
Once she saw Wakko outside, Lilo ran and hugged him. "Hey", he said, chuckling. "Alright you two", said Dot, "Let's get going". Lilo took Wakko's hand and they followed the other two to the water tower. Lilo looked at Wakko and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, we live there", he said then sighed. "What is it Wak?", his brother asked. "Nothing" said Wakko.
There was something in his voice Lilo found strange. He sounded tired and...depressed? No, that wasn't the right word. Anxcious? Yeah, that sounded better. But why? He did mention filming earlier and sounded annoyed by it, which meant it probably tired him, but...this? Was he really anxcious about it? What could possibly go wrong there?
Once they climbed up the ladder and went in, Wakko let go of Lilo's hand again and ran into the bathroom. Lilo watched in shock as he ran out and closed himself into the bedroom. She turned around and rolled her eyes again, this time at Dot.
The Warner sister sighed, "Leave 'im alone. We got used to it, so will you, don't worry. I mean, we do take care of our brother, that's for sure". Lilo looked back at the distance. She didn't really understand what Dot was talking about, but she knew something was wrong. So at that moment, she promised herself this: as soon as she gets rid of this anxciety thing, she was going to help him in any way she could. She also knew the anxciety wasn't going to go away itself.
So from that day, Lilo worked real hard on herself to get out of something she actually got herself into.
