Title: The Traitor and The Hero
Summary: It's difficult to say who's the hero when they both think they're on the right side.
It had been about a few hours after Yuya and his Lancer team had left the Xyz Dimension, heading for Fusion. Gloria wasn't all that worried though. The Professor was prepared for them. He knew their decks, their strategies, and their weaknesses.
Thanks to her, that is.
Once she had confirmed their departure the Professor gave her the orders. It was time to take down the last of the Resistance.
Such fools they were to trust their enemies so easily. This is why they deserved to be turned into cards. If a few simple lies were enough for these people to drop their guard completely, then they don't deserve to be in the Professor's new world.
"Ms. Gloria!" A Ra Yellow student had approached her. "A majority of the resistance managed to slip away."
"Idiots!" Gloria grits her teeth. "I practically handed you those cards on a silver platter! How could any of you mess that up?!"
"B-but some of our forces are help-"
"I don't want to hear it!" Gloria snaps. "I want every square inch of this place searched from top to bottom! This is their last major base of operations for the Resistance and the Professor doesn't want any loose ends."
"Y-Yes, of course!" The student scampers away. Deciding to get some hunting done on her own, Gloria headed for the meal room where soup was served. Perhaps some rats were hiding in the kitchen. She got her answer when an Obelisk Force member flew backward out of the doorway to the kitchen, landing heavily on his back with a pained groan. His duel disk flashed a few times before automatically teleporting him home.
Eyes widening in delight at the challenge, Gloria slowly approached the door with a smirk. Only to nearly get knocked down by her sister, Grace wielding her duel disk.
"Glo!" Grace calls out her sister's name in relief. "Like, I'm so glad to see you! Obelisk Force has gone like totally nuts!" Gloria was rightfully confused. Why would the Obelisk Force attack her sister? Grace turned and called back into the kitchen.
"Everyone, it's okay! It's just my sister! You can come out now!" Gloria could barely contain her shock as a few refugees shuffled out of the kitchen, including the first two runts they had dueled when they had been tasked with capturing the Lancers.
"G-Gloria! The Obelisk Force! They're attacking everyone again!" Saya cries.
"Yeah! I thought they were on our side now!" Allen added.
"Why would they be on the losing side?" Gloria laughs. "Did you really think we would turn on our own dimension so easily?
B-but...Aster said..."
"Oh, please. Commander Aster played you all like a fiddle."
"Say what?!" Allen growled.
"He suffers one defeat and suddenly he's gonna throw down his duel disk and sing kumbaya?"
"If that's true t-then Shay...he's..." Saya whimpers, unable to finish the sentence.
"Why did you think Aster insisted he be treated at our base? It's so much easier to card when they can't defend themselves. It is a shame though, I would have liked to have a real rematch with him."
"YOU MONSTERS!" Allen roared. "I won't allow you to get away with this!"
"And what are you going to do about it, little boy?"
"Gloria, stop!" Grace jumped in front of her sister. "What are you doing?!"
"I should be asking you that. The charade is up, Grace. You can stop pretending now."
"Not Grace too." Saya sobs, tears trailing down her face.
"I knew we couldn't trust them!" Allen mutters.
"No. You're wrong." Grace glances back at the group behind her. "You can trust me." Gloria couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Grace, you can't be serious. I know I have the brains but you can't be this dumb."
"The only dumb one here is you! You told me you enjoyed Yuya's dueltaining!" Gloria rolls her eyes.
"Just because you like the circus doesn't mean you join it, Grace. Besides, I was having plenty of fun dueling my way."
"Like, yeah right. Just admit it, Glo, you're totes scared of the Professor."
"Excuse me?" Gloria narrows her eyes at her sister.
"You didn't want to anger big daddy Professor so you thought that if you went back to being a good little girl, then he'd forgive you and won't spank you-"
"ENOUGH!" Gloria snapped. "I can't believe you actually bought into that Sakaki kid's creepy smile cult."
"It's fun!"
"It's psychotic!"
"You're just jealous that Yuya knows how to make a duel actually fun." Grace crosses her arms and pointedly turns away. Gloria rubs the temples of her forehead like she has a headache.
"Duels aren't supposed to be fun, and if they are, that's only because I take great joy in turning losers into gift cards. And correct me if I'm wrong, but you felt the same." Grace doesn't have a rebuttal this time. Surprisingly, it's Saya that steps up to Grace's defense.
"But she's changing!" Saya claims. "Maybe that's how she was before, but she doesn't want to be like that now!"
"Yeah! Who said twins had to act the same?!" Allen adds with a cheeky smirk. "Just because Grace is clearly the cooler twin doesn't mean you get to drag her down to your level."
"Aww, Allen, you're making me blush. Don't get your girlfriend jealous." Grace smiles.
"W-what? Huh?" Allen stutters as Saya blushes in embarrassment. Just then, an Obelisk Blue and Ra Yellow student ran into the room.
"Finally. Some backup." Gloria sighs. "I'll deal with my sister, you two can-" To Gloria's shock, the two students ignored her completely and instead ran over to Grace.
"We got most of the civilians out. The only ones left are your group." The Ra Yellow student reported.
"Thanks, Bastion! You too, Atticus! You both are the best!"
"Well, how could we say no to that beautiful face?" Atticus winks while Bastion sweatdrops.
"We should probably get a move on before the Professor sends any more reinforcements."
"What the hell is going on?!" Gloria shrieks. Bastion and Atticus look back at her confused.
"What's with your sister, Grace?" Atticus asked.
"Don't worry about it. Can you guys take my group to safety? It seems like my sis isn't so smart and needs to be retaught a few lessons."
"Of course. No need to worry." Bastion waves at the group. "This way! If you follow me, we'll take you all to a safe bunker." The group of Xyzian refugees don't move and instead whispers among themselves worriedly. Allen voices their concerns.
"Can we really trust them?" He asked. "Gloria is living proof we can't trust every soldier that claims they want to help us." Saya thought for a moment.
"I don't know if we can trust them but...I trust Grace. And if Grace says we should follow them then...I believe in her."
"Thank you, Saya." Grace whispers. With a little coaxing from Saya, the small group allowed themselves to be herded away by Bastion and Atticus, leaving the two sisters alone.
"You do realize that this makes you a traitor to Duel Academy and the Professor, right?"
Like duh. I already told you, I'm Yuya's ally. And if Yuya is Duel Academy's enemy then they're my enemy too." Gloria lets out a disappointed sigh.
"Whatever. I don't have time to deal with your hero complex." Gloria turned and began to walk away. "Now because of you, I have to track down the Resistance again." Gloria wasn't able to get far before a large orange tiger jumped in front of her, roaring loudly. One of its eyes held a nasty scar while the other was a piercing blue. It was Grace's Amazoness Tiger.
"There's like, no way I'm letting you leave."
"Ugh.."
"Not without a duel!"
"Ughhh..." Gloria groaned louder. She was not in the mood for this.
"Alright sis, it's time for you to get totally schooled!" Grace smirks as she activates her duel disk.
"Let's just get this over with." Gloria sighs for what felt like the hundredth time today.
"Let's duel!" They both shouted.

"Let's wrap this up quickly," Gloria says, drawing her hand. "First, I'm gonna Special Summon Amazoness Spy to the field by revealing Amzoness Queen in my hand." Gloria shows off the two cards before summoning the cloaked covered woman.

"And since an Amazoness monster was Special Summoned, I get to summon Amazoness Native from my hand as well!" A plain, but well-built woman appeared beside the spy.
Amazoness Native - [LV: 2] [DEF: 500]
"But the fun is only just getting started. When Amazoness Native is Special Summoned by her own effect, she can Special Summon a Level 5 or higher Amazoness monster from my Deck in defense! I Special Summon Amazoness War Chief!" This warrior wielded a large hammer, a confident smirk on her face.
Amazoness War Chief - [LV: 5] [DEF: 0]
"Oh wow." Grace lets out a loud yawn. "So cool, sis. You almost put me to sleep with that move." Gloria's eyebrow twitched in annoyance.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Is my move not 'exciting' enough for you?"
"Well, it's not gonna be much of a duel if I already know every move you're going to make before you make it. Go on." Grace waves her off. "I already know that since War Chief was summoned she allows you to set Polymerization from your Deck face-down on your field." Gloria rolls her eyes, snatching a card she chose from her Deck and setting it face-down in front of her.
"Sorry to bore you, but I'm not here to entertain. I'm here to win. I sacrifice Amazoness Spy to Tribute Summon Amazoness Queen!" The regal warrior appeared, gripping her mighty sword.
Amazoness Queen - [LV: 6] [ATK: 2400]
"Lastly, I Normal Summon my Amazoness Archer Apprentice." The final Amazoness jumped on the field, her bow at the ready.
Amazoness Archer Apprentice - [LV: 3] [ATK: 400]
"I may not be able to attack on the first turn, but I can still deal you damage." Gloria grins. "By Tributing 2 monsters my Archer Apprentice can deal you direct damage. To the tune of 600!" Grace's eyes widen as Amazoness Archer Apprentice notched two arrows into her bow.
Both Amazoness War Chief and Native kneel down next to her, a golden aura swirling around them before being dragged into the two arrows, sucking out their life force. Gloria snaps her fingers and the arrows flew, each one finding its mark.
Grace: 4000 - 600 = 3400
"And with that, I set one card face down and end my turn. Let me know if I'm being too hard on you, little sis. Because we both know I was seriously holding back with that first turn." Gloria wasn't sure what to expect from her sister at this point, but laughing certainly wasn't one of them.
"Amazing! Usually, you just fuse straight into Amazoness Empress. I'm glad that Allen kid inspired you to try different things."
"I-inspired?!"
"Dealing damage on the first turn through effects? That move sounds familiar."
"Anyone with a single brain cell can pull off a move like that." Gloria protested hotly.
"So why didn't you do the smart play and Fusion Summon Amazoness Empress?"
"Like I just said, I'm going easy on you!"
"I thought you said you were playing to win?"
"Just make your move already!"
"Okay." Grace giggles as she draws.

"I'm activating Amazoness Calling to call into battle my Amazoness Tiger, bringing him from my Deck to my hand! Next, I'm using Polymerization to fuse my Tiger with Amazoness Trainee! Wild beast of the jungle with vicious fangs. Obtain the endurance of the warrior who educates herself in the ways of the jungle. Get set for some paws, claws, and like, warring roars! I Fusion Summon! Come before us! Level 7! Amazoness Pet Liger!"
Amazoness Pet Liger - [LV: 7] [ATK: 2500]
"Now who's the boring one." Gloria taunted.
"I'm not done with my turn yet." Grace wags her finger back and forth at her sister with a wink. "I summon Amazoness Sage and equip her with Amazoness Heirloom!" A golden necklace appeared around the monster's neck. Gloria could see a strange aura radiating off of it.
Amazoness Sage - [LV: 4] [ATK: 1400]
"Heirloom? What is that card?"
"No spoilers!" Grace grins. "Now I'm activating my Continuous Spell, Amazoness Fighting Spirit! With this card, if any of my Amazoness monsters are outclassed by any of your monsters, during battle, my monsters gain a helpful attack boost of 1000!"
"So that's your plan," Gloria mutters. "The best one you can probably come up with since my Queen will protect my monsters from getting destroyed."
"I wonder about that." Grace hesitated for a moment before shaking her head at herself. "Amazoness Sage, attack Amazoness Queen!"
"What?! Have you lost it?!"
"Like I just said, due to Amazoness Fighting Spirit, my Sage gains 1000 attack points!" A red aura surrounded Sage as she launched herself into battle.
Amazoness Sage: 1400 + 1000 = 2400
"Okay, and what exactly was the point of that? Aside from your monster getting destroyed, that is."
"You may want to look again, Glo," Grace smirked, playing with her hair. To Gloria's surprise, both monsters were still standing after the battle. But the strange glow that had been around the Heirloom necklace was now around Amazoness Queen. "You see, that necklace isn't just a piece of bling. It also prevents my monster from being destroyed in battle once per turn."
"Oh no. Whatever shall I do?" Gloria replies sarcastically.
"Yeah, that's what I'm wondering too. Since Sage did battle with your monster while wearing that precious Heirloom, Heirloom's effect destroys your monster regardless of the battle!"
"What?!" The aura that had surrounded Queen intensified until she completely vanish off the field.
"I knew I couldn't defeat Amazoness Queen through battle so I had to dethrone her another way."
"That's a cheap trick," Gloria growls.
"More like, awesome. And here's another awesome trick. Since Sage battled I get to destroy 1 Spell or Trap card on your field. I think I'll get rid of your Polymerization!" Sage clasped her hands together and said a quick prayer that dissolved Gloria's first face-down card. "Now let's take care of that Archer. As I'm sure you remember, sis since Sage attacked Liger's ability claws out 800 attack points from your monster!"
Amazoness Archer Apprentice - [LV: 3] [ATK: 400 - 800 = 0]
"Liger!" Grace got ready to command her Fusion but then stop herself...as if conflicted. Gloria waited patiently. "L-Liger, it's feeding time!"
"I activate my face-down, Pride of Tribe!"
"H-huh?"
"When you destroyed my Amazoness Queen, you allowed me to activate this trap. This allows me to Special Summon another Amazoness monster to take her place and I choose Amazoness Spirit Charmer!"
Amazoness Spirit Charmer - [LV: 2] [ATK: 100]
"Big whoop! She's too weak to do anything! Liger, continue your attack!"
"I'm afraid not. You see, with Charmer in play Level 5 or higher monsters can't attack any Level 4 or lower Amazoness monsters I control." Just as Liger was leaping to attack, Charmer pulled out a flute and began playing a soft melodic tune.
The tune put Grace's Liger in a hypnotic state, forcing the beast to lie down and take a cat nap. Sage sighs in disappointment at the beast.
"I guess there's nothing else I can do but end my turn."
"Aww, what happen to all that spirit you had just a second ago?" Gloria taunts her sister and she draws from her Deck.

"I think I've spent enough time playing around with you. This time...I'm not holding back."
"Whatever." Grace rolls her eyes.
"I activate the effect of Amazoness Spiritualist in my hand. By returning Amazoness Archer Apprentice to my hand I can Special Summon her to the field."
Amazoness Spiritualist - [LV: 2] [ATK: 800]
"When Spiritualist is Special Summoned I get to add Polymerization to my hand from my Deck."
"What good is that gonna do you? Amazoness Queen is in the Graveyard. You can't summon Amazoness Empress."
"I already told you. I'm not holding back." Gloria says with a dark look at her sister. "I activate Spirit Charmer's second effect. I can target 1 Level 5 or higher monster on my opponent's field and take control of them until the end of the turn."
"Ah! Liger! Come back!" Grace cried, but it was no use. The beast followed obediently after its new master.
"Now I'm going to banish Amazoness Secret Arts in my Graveyard."
"Wait...that card wasn't in your Graveyard!" Grace protested. "Are you cheating?!"
"Oh please, Grace. As if I would ever bring myself down so low. It was you who sent Secret Arts to the Graveyard."
"No, I didn't!" Grace stomps her foot childishly. "I would totally remember if I did!"
"Really? Tell me, what card did you have Sage destroy with her effect?"
"Polymerization, like obviously."
"Then why isn't it in my Graveyard?" Grace checks her sister's Graveyard through her duel disk and was shocked to see that her sister was right.
"B-but how?"
"You were correct when you said War Chief allowed me to set Polymerization from my Deck to the field, but I can also choose to set an Amazoness Spell or Trap card instead."
"So you never choose Polymerization?"
"You may know most of my moves, Grace, but you don't know all of them. By banishing Secret Arts, I can use an Amazoness Extra Deck monster as Fusion Material for my next Fusion Summon."
"Oh no..."
"Oh no, indeed. I activate Polymerization to fuse my Amazoness Spiritualist with the Amazoness Empress in my Extra Deck. "Ruler of the jungle. Receive the power of the one who communicates with the dead, and build a legacy that will last for years to come! I Fusion Summon! Appear, Level 8! Amazoness Augusta!"

"And my turn is far from over. When Augusta is Fusion Summoned, I get to Special Summon another Amazoness monster from my Deck and I'm bringing back Amazoness War Chief!"

I fuse your Amazoness Pet Liger with my Amazoness Spirit Charmer! Savage beast of the jungle with vicious fangs. Obtain the cunning nature of the warrior who manipulates the jungle, become a new ferocious ruler and appear! I Fusion Summon! Come before us! Level 9! Amazoness Pet Liger King!"

"N-no way!" Grace gasps. "You only had Amazoness Empress! When did you get these other Fusions?!"
"I've always had them, just never needed to use them until now. Liger King, attack Amazoness Sage!"
"Due to Amazoness Heirloom, Sage isn't destroyed!"
"That little trinket may protect her from destruction but it won't protect you from the damage!"
Grace: 3400 - (2900 - 1400) = 1900
"Amazoness Augusta, finish the job!" The Amazoness ruler takes her great sword and slashes right through Sage, destroying her. The force of the blow sends Grace tumbling to the ground.
Grace: 1900 - (3200 - 1400) = 100
"Since I used Amazoness Empress to Fusion Summon Augusta, I get to attack twice in one turn." Grace closes her eyes, awaiting the final blow.
But it never comes.
Grace opens her eyes to see her sister staring at her. She frowns, pushing herself up and onto her knees.
"Well? Like, what are you waiting for?"
"As shocking as this might sound, I don't like beating up on my little sister." Gloria holds out her hand toward her. "Let's stop this duel, Grace. We can go back to Duel Academy. I won't tell the Professor what you did." Grace shakes her head.
"No way. It would be so uncool of me to join back up with Duel Academy, especially after what Saya said-"
"Who cares! You haven't even known that girl longer than a day and you seem to prefer her over me!"
"Maybe because unlike you, Saya actually believes in me!"
"What?! You're being ridiculous!"
"Ever since we were kids, you always acted so high and mighty. I always had to follow your lead! Your strategies! Your command! My ideas were always wrong or bad. For Ra's sake, you wouldn't even let me choose my own deck!"
"Because you're not good at making your own decisions!"
"How would you know?! You never let me make my own decisions!" The anger in Grace's voice dies down, replaced with pain. "When you actually agreed to leave Duel Academy I was so happy. I thought that, for once, you saw me as your sister instead of your twin."
"Grace-"
"But instead, you go behind my back. You hurt the people I was helping and then, have the nerve to act like I'm in the wrong!"
"Grace-" Gloria repeats.
"Even though Aster was totally lying, he was right! This dimension was great before we ruined it and we need to start fixing it!"
"Grace!" The older sibling finally snaps. "You wanna know why I know you won't make good decisions? Because you're a damn flip-flop!"
"H-huh? Gloria, are you like...okay? I don't know how hard you have to hit your head to start confusing me with shoe wear but that can't be good." Gloria facepalms hard.
"What I'm saying is that you flip between two different things like a fashion trend! You say one thing and do the opposite a week later! Hell, you can't even decide on a favorite color for longer than a week!"
"W-well not this time!"
"Oh, and I'm just supposed to take your word for it?" Gloria shakes her head. "Forget it, Grace. I'm done playing around. Augusta, finish her off and end this duel." The ruler jumped at her opponent, sword raised high above her head.

"Since you declared an attack I can Special Summon Shield Fairy from my hand and change your attack to it!"
"What?!"
"Saya?!"
A tiny fairy-like creature with bright green hair appeared in front of Grace, putting up a force field that blocked Amazoness Augusta's attack.
Shield Fairy - [LV: 4] [ATK: 1000]
"And since I control more cards than you or Grace, my monster isn't destroyed by battle!"
"Saya, like, what are you doing here?" Grace asked. "Did something happen?!" The bespectacled girl shakes her head, walking over and holding out a hand to the younger Tyler sister.
"I couldn't leave you behind. That's not what friends do."
"F-friends?" Grace slowly takes the hand and she is pulled to her feet by Saya.
"Of course!" The Xyzian smiles, still holding onto her hand. "Friends don't leave one another behind!" Saya then turns her focus on Gloria. "And neither should sisters." Gloria rolls her eyes.
"This doesn't concern you, twerp. Why don't you scurry back to your real friends? Then I can have some fun hunting you down all over again." Saya shakes her head, not allowing the fear to take over her.
"Not gonna happen. I won't abandon a friend! Not again."
"Fine. Then I hope you like encores because this duel won't be any different from last time!"
"We'll see about that!" Saya draws from her deck.

"First I'm going to Normal Summon Librarian Fairy!" A young scholar-looking fairy wearing a pair of glasses appears, balancing a couple of books in hand.
Librarian Fairy - [LV: 4] [ATK: 1200]
"When Librarian Fairy is summoned, I can discard one card from my hand and draw one card from my Deck and if the card I draw is a Fairy-Type I get to Special Summon it!" Librarian Fairy opened one of the books it was holding and began to read from it, the power from the book creating a golden circle on the floor around her.
"You got this, Saya!" Grace cheers while Gloria rolls her eyes at the display. Saya nervously draws from her Deck a second time and sighs in relief.
"I drew Fairy Archer and since she's a Fairy-Type, she gets to join the fun!" Librarian Fairy steps out of the golden circle, allowing Fairy Archer to fly out of the portal and land beside her.

"And that's not all! Since I sent Circle Fairy to the Graveyard and I have more cards in my hand than my opponents, I get to bring back Circle Fairy! Welcome back, my friend!"

"Oh no, four weak faires. Whatever shall I do?" Gloria whined childishly.
"Make my sis eat those words, Saya!" Saya nods, determined.
"I overlay Circle Fairy and Shield Fairy to build the overlay network! An angel's smile with the pom-poms that pummel! I Xyz Summon! Rank 4! Fairy Cheer Girl!"

"That monster again?" Gloria sighs, unimpressed.
"She may be weaker than your Amazoness Augusta and Pet Liger King but attack points aren't everything, not when you have friends by your side! I overlay Librarian Fairy and Fairy Archer to build another overlay network! An angel's wrath with the spirit that rages! I Xyz Summon! Rank 4! Fairy Fighter Girl!" Another fairy stepped out of the vortex, looking like a direct opposite of Fairy Cheer Girl.
She had long red hair that fell to her shoulders and wore a green army uniform. She had no pom poms but instead had white wrappings around her clenched fists. Her eyes held no warmth in them, but rather a stern protectiveness.
Gloria was a bit surprised. The academy didn't have any info on this monster. Was this the first time Saya had summoned her during the war?

"Is that supposed to scare me, little girl? Instead of one weakling, I got two to deal with?" Gloria questions.
"No." Saya answers. "But this should! I activate Fairy Cheer Girl's effect! She allows me to draw an extra card from my Deck!" Fairy Cheer Girl lives up to her name and cheers wildly as a glowing overlay unit flew from her orbit and into her Duel Master's deck. "By gaining another card, Fairy Fighter's attack goes up by another 100 points!"

"I don't have too." Saya smiles. "Because since I drew a card by the effect of a Fairy-Type Xyz monster, by detaching an overlay unit from Fairy Figher Girl, that lets me destroy 1 card on your field!" Fairy Fighter Girl cracks her knuckles and begins walking toward Amazoness Augusta with a smirk.
Fairy Fighter Girl - [OU: 1]
"What?!" Gloria gasps.
"Oh yeah!" Grace cheers.
"I destroy your Amazoness Augusta!" Augusta tries to put up a fight with her sword but Fairy Fighter Girl ducks the swipe and sweeps out her leg, knocking Augusta to the ground, and finishes the job by impaling her with her own sword. "Now to deal with that Liger."
"With what attack points? I know your deck. Your Cheer Girl can only use her effect once per turn. You don't have any way to draw cards into your hand to raise your Fighter Girl's attack points or use her lame effect again."
"Then it's a good thing Grace showed me this trick! I equip the spell, Fairy Enchanted Armor to Fairy Cheer Girl! This equip spell raises my monster's attack to 2500!" Fairy Cheer Girl does a little dance in her new outfit. Fairy Fighter rolls her eyes in amusement.
Fairy Cheer Girl - [ATK: 2500]
"The downside is since I used a card from my hand, Fairy Fighter loses attack points."
Fairy Fighter Girl - [ATK: 2700 - 100 = 2600]
"What the hell, Grace?!" Gloria snarls at her sister. "Now you're showing the enemy your battle tactics?!"
"Well, Saya asked me all super nicely, since she lost so badly to us, if I could give her some pointers. And I was like 'Totally. Let me see your Deck!'. She had some pretty nice spell cards but didn't know how to use them so...I showed her!"
"I...I don't think Allen and me lost that badly..." Saya murmurs.
"My Ra, Grace! I can't tell if you've always been this stupid or that Sakaki kid really screwed with your head!"
"Like, sticks and stones, Gloria." Grace crosses her arm and pointedly looks away. Gloria couldn't understand. Her own sister...sharing battle tactics that they worked on for months...given to the enemy like it was some useless toy.
"Umm..." Saya glances awkwardly between the two sisters before slowly continuing with her turn. "I uhh...attack Pet Liger King with Fairy Cheer Girl."
"Liger King, shred her wings." Gloria growls. The two monsters clash, but after the battle they both remained.
"With that enchanted armor, by discarding a Fairy-Type monster from my hand, Fairy Cheer Girl isn't destroyed by battle."
Fairy Fighter Girl - [ATK: 2600 - 100 = 2500]
"Saving your monster won't save you from the pain."
"I-I know that!"
Saya: 2000 - (2900 - 2500) = 1600
"But now the other effect of Enchanted Armor kicks in! Since Fairy Cheer Girl battled I can destroy the monster that she battled!" Gloria wasn't even paying attention. Her gaze was focused on her sister.
"How could you do this to us? To me? I'm your sister." Grace meets her sister's gaze evenly.
"You were a partner...not a sister." A cold silence takes the field.
"I attack War Chief with...Fairy Fighter...Girl?"
Gloria: 4000 - (2500 - 1900) = 3400
The attack connects and War Chief is destroyed. Gloria doesn't react to the first bit of damage done to her life points. When she continues to do nothing Saya looks back down at her hand, mentally debating if she should set her final card or not.
"Hey, Saya?" Saya looks back up at Grace. Grace doesn't face her, instead keeping her gaze locked on her sibling. "It's okay. Set the card." Saya is a bit flustered but nods and carefully sets the card face down in her Spell and Trap zone.
Fairy Fighter Girl - [ATK: 2500 - 100 = 2400]
"To keep Enchanted Fairy Armor in play, I banish Shield Fairy from my Graveyard. I...end my turn? Grace?" Saya is unsure if the younger Tyler sister was going to even make a move.

"I draw." Grace looks down at the single card in her hand. "I summon Amazoness Tiger."
Amazoness Tiger - [LV: 4] [ATK: 1100 + 400 = 1500]
"W-what? Why did its attack get boosted like that?" Saya questions.
"Because my Tiger gains 400 attack for each Amazoness monster I have in play, including itself." Grace explains.
"And who taught you that move?" Gloria calls out.
"The one who's about to get their face clawed off." Grace retorts. "Tiger, attack Gloria directly!" The orange cat leaped forward, raking his claws down the other sister's face. Gloria actually screams in pain. When the attack is over Grace and Saya could see three bleeding claw marks decorating the side of her face.
Gloria: 3400 - 1500 = 1900
"You didn't hesitate." Gloria wipes the blood from her cheek although it continues to slowly ooze out. "Every attack you've hesitated, but not this time..." Saya looks nervously at Grace, but her teammate seems unfazed by the now much darker tone of their opponent. "Very well then. You want me to treat you like an enemy? I'll card you like one."

Turn: 6 [Gloria]
Gloria: 1900 LP [Hand: 1]
Grace: 100 LP [Hand: 0]
Saya: 1600 LP [Hand: 0]
"I draw." Gloria gazes at the card in her hand. "You two aren't the only ones who can use spell cards. I activate Re-Fusion! By paying 800 life points I can bring back a Fusion Monster from my Graveyard and I choose Amazoness Augusta!"
Gloria: 1900 - 800 = 1100
Amazoness Augusta - [LV: 10] [ATK: 3200]
"Augusta..." Gloria points at Grace. "End the traitor."
"I won't let you!" Saya shouts, activating her face-down. "Fairy Wind destroys every face-up spell and trap card on the field!" A vicious whirlwind began to whip up.
"ARE YOU BRAINDEAD?! That card deals damage to all of us!" Gloria yelled.
"I know!" Saya replies, using her arm to shield herself as best she could from the wind. "I didn't want to but..." Saya sadly looks over at Grace.
Gloria realized that Saya had set the trap, but only because her sister told her. She knew what card Saya had in her hand and she knew Gloria would be to blood-hungry to care about what it was!
But...but...
"Fairy Wind deals 400 for each face-up card on the field. If I hadn't activated Re-Fusion, that Trap would have done only 800 damage and I would have life points to spare. There was no reason to have her set that card. How...how did you know?!" Gloria glares at her sister.
"I didn't." Grace answers simply. "But even if that trap only took me out, I believe in my teammate." The wind throws everyone back, destroying Grace's Amazoness Fighting Spirit, Gloria's Re-Fusion, and Saya's Enchanted Fairy Armor. Three cards were destroyed.
Gloria vs. Grace and Saya
Gloria: 1100 - (400 x 3) = 0
Grace: 100 - (400 x 3) = 0
Saya: 1600 - (400 x 3) = 400
Outcome: Saya (Winner) / Gloria (Defeated) / Grace (Defeated)
Being the only one with life points left, Saya was the first to recover. She doesn't celebrate her win, instead running over to her friend and calling her name.
"Grace! Grace!" The young girl helps Grace sit up. "Are you alright?"
"Totally fine." She grunts, wobbling to her feet. "And Gloria?" Saya looks across the field.
"I think that last attack knocked her out." Saya confess. Grace walks towards her sister with uneven steps. Once she is standing over her Grace unhooks her duel disk, deck and all, and sets it down beside her unconscious body.
"I'm sorry, sister. I hope one day...you'll understand." Grace sighs. She stands back up and returns to Saya's side. "Come on. Let's head back before the Professor's goons come sniffing around." Saya glances back at Gloria worriedly but nods In agreement, following after her friend.

Ah, my first 'duel' in the series. I think it turned out pretty well. Especially considering I have no idea how to play Amazoness and Saya's Fairy Deck is pretty much nonexistent.

Yeah, as DSpaceZ has pointed out. There's a trio in each dimension except for Synchro and it's such a strange oddity because I can't think of a logical reason why Shinji couldn't be the third 'member' of the Synchro trio with Yugo and Rin.
Some people say that Shinji and Yugo wouldn't work together as friends/brothers/love interests, because of their conflicting ideologies. Shinji hates the Topsiders and the Friendship Cup as a whole while Yugo has no such hatred and seems to relish the competitive society but I would argue that is what would make their relationship so much more interesting. All the other Dragon Boys have had their mindsets challenged in some shape or form. Yuya and his smiles, Yuto and his revenge, and Yuri with his... psychotic carding. But no one has really pushed Yugo. Shinji would have been a great character for that. After all, Yugo claims he wants to win but seems to have no desire to change the way society works as Shinji does.

I don't know about that. Crossover ships with Duel Monsters are even rarer. My hands are full as is with the normal list. Can you imagine if I did include crossover ships? Season 1 would never get done!

Well, funny enough. Zuzu is actually the only character outside of the Synchro Dimension that is paired up with Shinji. Their ship is called Pollinateshipping. Quite fitting, don't you think?
