Yakko stared in shock at the two sentences written on the white paper of the blue notebook. What was Katie KaBoom to do with Mertle Edmonds?! He didn't know. Neither his siblings would know if they had read this. Or maybe one of them was hiding something? Probably Wakko?
The middle Warner sibling was still sitting in the bedroom, curled up. He didn't need anyone to talk to, not even if his siblings understood him. Wakko wanted to think it over himself. He wanted to find a reason for the importance of filming, wanted to understand all of the things he had said that day and most of all, calm down and forgive them for doing this to him. It was a hard process, but Wakko kept on trying to do it all alone.
"Wakko! Dot!", his brother's voice brought him back to the present and he ran to open the door. When there, he saw Lilo, panting because she ran as well, but also because her heart was pounding from the fact they could find out her secret. Wakko hugged her, "It's ok, guess it's your turn to close yourself up".
Lilo's eyes widened. How could he know?! Well, he couldn't, and he didn't. Wakko only guessed she was upset from the expression on her face and because she ran to the bedroom. She quickly let go and ran inside, shutting the door behind her and leaving him in the hall. Wakko stood there for a second, his own heart pounding in fear, then felt some strange energy making him run to the kitchen.
"Here", he said once there, "What is it?". Then he spotted an open notebook and read those two sentences Lilo had just written. Wakko gasped, "Then Katie is evil! Like, I saw her there as well and-" "Wakko!", Dot interrupted him, "You can't judge people- and toons, by who they're standing with".
Wakko sighed, "You're right. Mertle's manipulative. That can only mean Katie's in danger". "Doesn't have to", said Dot, "She's 16, and Mertle's like 7, right?". "But guys", the oldest interrupted, "Have you even met her? How can you know she's such a bully?". "What?!", Wakko almost snapped, "Lilo's been speechless for a few days now because of her, and you're saying we don't know her?".
"Well", said Dot, "Maybe we don't know her that well? What do you think?". "I think we know enough", said Wakko with his arms crossed. "Alright, whatever", said the oldest, "We're not here to talk about Mertle, we're here to talk about Lilo". The other two gasped. What did she do wrong? What could possibly be the problem?
"What...what is it?", Dot asked, sounding frightened. "Yeah, what has she done wrong?", Wakko added. "She's hiding something", said the oldest, "If she wasn't, Lilo wouldn't be gone before we picked her up". "But she has a problem", said Wakko, "No wonder if she wanted to be alone for a while and Katie wanted to be alone as well and-".
"Ok Wakko", his brother interrupted him, "Thank you for understanding. But I think there's something else going on". Then he flipped the notebook to the very first page and they gasped. "What?!", asked Dot. "She got another one?", asked Wakko in confusion. "And I know exactly where the old one is", said the oldest.
The next night, while Lilo was asleep, the three Warner siblings sneaked out of the water tower and went to the psychiatry building. No one lead the way, they promised eachother they'd stay together and be all equal. Once they came, they climbed up to the window and opened it. "There it is!", said Wakko, pointing at the notebook on the table, "Scratchy probably left it because she ran out".
The three of them went in trough the window and stood in front of the table. Wakko took the notebook while his brother turned on the lamp. He opened the notebook and found the last page that was written that day. What they read there though, shocked them like nothing had ever before.
I'm so sick and tired of the fact that all they can do now is cope. And that I'm the only one getting help here. Yesterday when I ran out, it was because I just had to break down. I have a heart too big to handle it. Then, when I came to the water tower, I closed myself up after Wakko, because I wrote that I met a girl named Katie while curled up there on the street, which made them suspicious. From that moment, I'm shaking like a stick because I know they've discovered something. Still, they haven't told me anything, I guess they care too much for me. Don't they know I care for them as well? I feel like it's coming. Like I'll be able to talk soon. I promise I'll try.
"Guys...", said Dot, frowning, "She...she won't make it like this...she needs to talk...then again...". "That's great!", said Wakko, clapping his hands together, "Aren't you excited?". "Wakko...", said Dot, setting his hand down, "It's not that simple...". "Ok", said Wakko, shrugging his shoulders, "Whatever happens, we'll find a way out, right?". "Good thinking, brother sibling!", said the oldest. Dot just looked at them with a weak smile, hoping it would be that way.
