I am going to step bolding Keyblade names, Jutsu attacks and magic attacks.
I also recently made an Archive of Our own account (redlox2) but not a fan of the formatting (it took my paragraphing spacing away) so not sure I will post anything on there besides maybe lemons.
AN1: As I post this chapter, I have 257 follows, 226 faves and 66 reviews! Looks like nobody was surprised (or perhaps cared) that Naruto had the Rinnegan reveal last chapter?
SPOILERS: for anyone who didn't play Union Cross or watch the cutscenes!
Ventus, Marluxia and Larxene somebodies' were in the past during Union Cross and entered the 'present' (pre BBS) due to the rules of time travel. It just helps to know for the context of KH3 and this chapter in particular.
Chapter 5 The past comes back to the Present
Naruto felt his chakra naturally heal his eyes as he heard someone call his name.
"Yeah?" Naruto said as he turned his head to what he assumed was Ventus's voice. Him and Roxas technically had the same voice as Roxas was modelled after Ventus's heart (which unbeknownst to most was inside of him when him and Sora separated the first time). However, Roxas had a more aggressive tone compared to Ven's more gentle tone most of the time. AN2:
"Can I ask you something? Its Ven by the way." Ven said slightly flustered when he saw Roxas raise an eyebrow.
'Really is like twin-central with Ven and Roxas both here.' Lea thought as he looked at his two friends.
"Yes? Don't worry I am going to get mad or anything." Naruto assured him as he his closed eyes had dried up but he had a small smile to show he was not uncomfortable.
"Um…. Why are you wearing a cloak?" Ven asked bluntly as Aqua frowned and crossed her arms.
"Ven! That is rude!" Aqua scolded him crossly as Ven looked flustered and shook his hands in front of him in defeat. This was not helped when Namine, Xion and Kairi glared at him.
"I didn't mean anything! Its just people usually wear a cloak and hood when they want to hide something right?" Ventus assured them as Riku and Mickey nodded.
"True. I mean the Organization wore them to stay mostly incognito while on missions." Riku remarked as Xion huffed but nodded. Lea and Roxas also nodded their heads to show their agreement.
"So, Naruto seems like a pretty open guy so why are you wearing the cloak?" Ventus pointed out as Naruto tilted his head.
"….." Naruto stayed quiet before he looked around.
"I wanted to make it a surprise…" Naruto claimed as he looked down tapping his foot nervously.
"…" Everyone was silent for a minute.
"Uh…. You do realize none of us knew who you were right? So, it wasn't much a surprise for us with the Hood on or off." Riku pointed out as Naruto looked up as if surprised.
"Uh…." Naruto stuttered as he looked flustered as if he could see or sense the disbelieving looks sent his way.
"I just wanted to make a good impression….!" Naruto said sadly as he crouched down and started to look depressed with his face down. Even with his eyes closed everyone could see his depression clear as day. There was even a mini rain cloud over his head as little drops of water started to hit his spikey blonde hair. AN3:
'So undignified! How is this guy so strong?!' Young Xehanort thought incredulously as he starred at the blonde with open disappointment.
'Wow. He certainly eccentric.' Saix thought with a sweatdrop.
"This guy pisses me off so much!" Larxene hissed as she grits her teeth, shooting lightning at the barrier to no avail once again.
"You guys are mean… I worked really hard to get a cloak that would work and have it, be the best reveal." Naruto mumbled as his hair continued to get wet from his unexplained rain cloud over his head.
This continued for a almost a minute before Kairi smiled and giggled as everyone especially Naruto looked in her direction.
"Kairi?" Namine asked her former Somebody who put a hand over her lips with amusement clear on her face.
"I thought it was cute." Kairi admitted as Naruto raised his head up rapidly as the rain cloud was still there but stopped raining on his head.
"Really?" Naruto asked hopefully as his head perked up.
"Yeah! It was very dramatic and I appreciated you went the extra mile for us." Kairi told him sweetly with a smile on her face.
There was a moment of silence as the rain cloud disappeared and Naruto spikey hair seemed to dry instantly.
Naruto seemed to vanish and reappear in front of Kairi as he grabbed her by the wait and lifted her up making Kairi squeal and eep in surprise and joy.
"You are seriously the best ever Kairi! I mean if I tried it for Sasuke or Sakura they would think It was a waste if time!" Naruto said happily before huffing the last part. He spun Kairi a few times in the air as Kairi looked surprised but happily as he kept a soft grip on her even as his eyes were closed.
Naruto then set Kairi on the floor but only so he could pull her into his arms as his chin rested on her head while her face was buried into his shoulder.
Kairi blushed again before quickly wrapping her own arms around Naruto as she just relaxed allowing herself to accept the hug from her beloved brother.
'This feels nice.' Kairi thought happily as his arms felt warm and safe wrapped around her and although she wouldn't say it out loud, she caught his scent which felt oddly pleasing.
"I am glad I found you and the others." Naruto told her gently as he put an hand on the back of her hair gently stroking her short but silky soft red hair. She smelt rather sweet and warm in his opinion as if he was getting back a part of himself, he didn't know he lost.
"I am glad you found us too." Kairi mumbled into his shoulder as Naruto smiled above her.
After the hug he pulled away before Kairi got a teasing smile on her face as she poked Naruto on the arm to get his attention.
"So, if that isn't what you wear normally. Can we see what do you wear?" Kairi asked as Naruto sent her a grin.
"Alright. Believe or not we do have down time in our world so we are not always on 'ninja mode'." Naruto told her as he clapped his hands together. There was a poof of smoke as Naruto's brown cloak disappeared and his true clothing appeared.
Kairi, Namine and Xion all had varying degrees of blushes while Aqua looked away with a hint of red on her face.
Naruto brown cloak had hidden his entire body except his whiskered face but this new one was much more form fitting and made him look remarkably handsome.
He wore a plain white T-shirt that showed his muscular build along with black pants. Over his shirt he wore an orange hoodie with black sleeves for the wrists which he kept unzipped showing his white shirt.
"Yeah, I know it doesn't look really 'ninja like' but don't mistake it. I can fight well in it too." Naruto told them crossing his arms as if he was assuming they would judge him for his outfit.
'He is so wow… I mean he looks so mature..' Xion thought slightly dreamily. She rationalized that despite being her brother in all but direct blood it was okay if she loved Naruto in a different way then what normal siblings would consider normal.
Namine had a similar thought as she looked over her brother with both love and desire but the latter was hidden quite well as she admired him.
"A hood. Just like me." Kairi gasped as Naruto sent her a grin.
"Yup it proves our connection doesn't it." Naruto commented as Kairi nodded eagerly as she gently pulled on the hood on her our pink mini dress.
Sora and Riku looked at each other as they looked at their own hoods.
'Okay I guess its hoods and being sibling that make it different.' Riku thought drily.
Namine and Xion pouted when they looked their own outfits and realized that Kairi had once again had another although minor connection to their brother that they didn't share.
Naruto felt his eyes heal themselves completely as he felt them start to rise as to blink and open.
"Guess its time to open them again." Naruto commented as put a hand on his forehead to shield his nearly restored eyes. Naruto opened them as his hand cast a shadow allowing him to see with his eyes without being blinded by the nearly restored light. His blue eyes shone in the light once again.
Naruto blinked before he put his hand down as he sent grins to Kairi and Xion who beamed at him. Naruto then turned to Namine who looked rather shy and unsure unconsciously playing with a strand of hair as if she was waiting for her crush to notice her.
"Namine." Naruto said happily as he stepped towards her as everyone else stepped back to let them have a moment.
"Naruto." Namine said nervously wondering how he would respond to her in real life as he stopped less then a foot from her.
Naruto took a few moments to look over Namine as he in particular liked her hair and secretly he liked how her outfit left her legs and feet shown.
"I just can't believe how pretty you are. I mean you are gorgeous Namine." Naruto told her honestly as Namine face turned red as she used her hands to cover her face in embarrassment.
"Gorgeous?!" Namine squeaked as Naruto nodded.
Everyone blinked at the description especially as he claimed Namine as a sister but Kairi and Xion were not pleased.
They crossed his arms and stared at Naruto with a frown who turned to them.
"You are both very pretty and gorgeous too." Naruto assured them who smiled at him.
'What kind of relationship are they having?' Was the thought of all the darkness and most of the Lights.
"Now for something that is long overdue." Naruto declared as he stepped forward till there was less then a few inches between him and Namine. Namine looked up at him even as she had a hint of red on her cheeks.
"Welcome back… Namine." Naruto said warmly before he pulled her into a tight and warm hug.
Namine blushed but eagerly returned the hug as she placed her face into his neck ignoring her burning face from the contact and amount of love she sensed from her fellow blond. Naruto wrapped his arms around her with one hand on her soft back making her shiver in delight at how warm he felt against her. The other hand was on back of her hair as he gently stroked her soft blonde hair wondering how his sisters kept them all so smooth and soft.
'This feels so nice. Its my first hug ever and I couldn't be happier.' Namine thought in sheer delight and contentment. AN4:
Naruto thought to himself 'So Kairi is sweet strawberry, Xion is warm chocolate and Namine is smooth vanilla. I wonder if they shampoo specifically or its just their natural scent from their hair?' Naruto wondered thinking about how each of his sisters had different hugs and different scents when their scents drifted through their hair and into his nose.
Riku stepped away when he could sense an annoyed aura from Kairi while Roxas was mostly confused when Xion seemed irate at the touching scene.
'Oh boy. Xion must be jealous. It makes sense and abit selfish but I get it.' Lea thought as he sensed Xion eyebrow twitch slightly.
'Hmm… For some reason it bothers me that Namine and Naruto look closer to twins then him and I do.' Kairi thought in confusion as although Namine hair was blonder then yellow like Naruto's it was still much closer than her own red hair.
'They look a lot more siblings than I do.' Xion thought as she looked at her black hair and compared to the two blonde blue-eyed people currently embracing in a super close and warm hug.
A few minutes later Naruto reluctantly pulled away but let Namine hover near him so there was barely an inch of space between his and her arms.
'Hmm. I think its pretty cute she is super clingy. Makes me feel wanted.' Naruto thought happily as Namine seemed to be in rush to step away from her newly found brother.
"Marluxia! Larxene! I am coming for you next!" Naruto declared as the two mentioned people within the barrier blinked before glaring at Naruto through the barrier.
"For the sake of balance, you shall not stop our goal." Marluxia declared coldly.
"I am going to enjoy making your sisters watch as you suffer." Larxene promised as a spark of lightning appeared between her fingers.
Naruto turned to the lights with a sigh.
"I am sorry for this but I do need you guys to hold back." Naruto told them as everybody looked unpleased.
"I know you are Kairi's brother but we can handle the Darkness." Sora declared as Donald and Goofy agreed.
"I know you guys as a team can beat the Darkness's." Naruto said as he turned to see several Darkness give him looks of loathing.
"But. This fight is not about winning. I have to do something that only I can do and I can only do it if I do this by myself." Naruto said with a stern expression.
"Well whatever you have to do you can do it easier if we do it as a team!" Ventus insisted with Aqua nodding.
"Look I can admit you are strong and you have powers I don't think any of us have ever seen." Aqua noted as everyone nodded.
"But that doesn't mean you have to fight our fight by yourself." Mickey finished as Naruto frowned seeing it would not be so easy to actually convince them to back off the fight.
However much to everyone surprise Roxas was the one who took Naruto's side.
"Wait. I think Naruto is right." Roxas said much to everyone shock.
"Roxas?" Lea said with a fair amount of disbelief in his voice as far as he could tell Roxas didn't trust Naruto if his fight against him showed anything.
"I fought him with full power because I thought he was a threat to us." Roxas admitted before he looked down with shame. Naruto shook his head in understanding.
"However. He actually beat me without trying to hurt me. So, I think if there is anyone here who can beat the Darkness without help its Naruto." Roxas declared as Naruto looked rather touched.
"Roxas." Naruto said surprised but pleased he gotten Roxas to trust him.
"I agree with Naruto and Roxas." Xion added as she bit her lip looking at Naruto with sadness.
"I didn't even know what or who I was and I attacked Naruto for no other reason then because I was told to." Xion said with shame as Naruto put a hand on her shoulder as she smiled.
"Yet he still refused to fight back against me no matter how many times I hit him. Despite all that he managed to save me so if anyone can do something about the darkness without fighting it its Naruto." Xion declared resolute as Roxas nodded.
"Well, I am sold. I won't pretend to know how strong this guy is but he did manage to save my two best friends so he at least earned my trust." Lea added as Naruto nodded in appreciation.
"Well if you are sure we will stay out of it." Riku said as he looked at Aqua and Ventus.
"He did the impossible a few times already and for some reason I feel like he is someone we can take a chance on." Riku noted as Sora looked over at an uncertain Donald and smiling Goofy.
"Alright. If Riku says we can let him fight alone that's good enough for me." Sora said.
"Fine!" Donald snapped after Goofy prodded his shoulder making Mickey laugh.
Ventus and Aqua shared uncertain looks but finally nodded.
"If you need help, we will be there." Aqua said as she sighed.
"Don't worry. I let you guys down." Naruto declared as he started to walk forward.
However, his hands were caught in between two pairs of very soft hands. One from Namine and Kairi who held his left and right hands respectively.
"Namine. Kairi." Naruto said softly as he turned around to see two pairs of concerned blue eyes from his sisters.
"We don't want you to get hurt." Namine and Kairi said in unison as they looked pleadingly at Naruto.
Naruto smiled as he took his hands out of their grasps but instead put his hands onto their backs to draw them in close.
"I promise I will come back after this war is over and show you my home world together. All of us. We shall see the place where we were meant to grow up together as a family." Naruto promised as he also looked at Xion to show he meant her too.
Xion smiled pleased to be included.
"I will let you guys on a secret everyone on my home world knows." Naruto said as he gently brushed his hand on one cheek of Namine and Kairi's who leaned into his touch.
"I never go back on my word. When I promise something, I live up to it no matter what!" Naruto declared and his conviction finally convinced Kairi and Namine to nod as they let Naruto walk off.
Naruto walked a fair distance away from the Seekers of Darkness and Guardians of Light as a puff of smoke appeared. Two Black swords with small guards and black blades appeared in his hands as he twirled them in his hands for a few seconds before he gripped them.
"Okay. Let's begin." Naruto said as a single finger flicked from his right hand as Marluxia and Larxene appeared out of the barrier and reappeared in front of him a few feet away.
As soon as they appeared Marluxia already had his scythe out into his right hand and Larxene had a pair of yellow knives into her hands. They rushed forward towards Naruto without warning as Marluxia swung his scythe at Naruto while Larxene thrust with her daggers at Naruto.
Naruto pivoted and in an instant, there was puff of dust from the impact. The smoke cleared to reveal Naruto using one sword to block Marluxia scythe while his other sword had managed to angel and block both of Larxene's daggers even as lightning immitted and sparked from the two daggers.
"Hmph. Tch. It seems you are quite fast on the reflexes." Marluxia noted as he could not past Naruto's guard even when he added a second hand to the handle.
"Come on! Lets see you bleed!" Larxene screamed as she backed off to release a wave of lightning at Naruto who flipped into the air and avoided the lightning before landing onto another piece of hand gracefully.
Then it began a series of blocks and parries from Naruto. Naruto batted away Marluxia many swings from his scythes and even to send Marluxia flying by jumping over his swing and kicking the scythe into him.
Afterwards he went after Larxene who tried everything she could to do to try to overpower Naruto. She created 4 clones who attacked Naruto from different angles and used lightning in their attacks but Naruto skillfully ducked and blocked all the attacks. He even kicked the clones into a group before he sliced into them forcing them to dispel as Larxene hissed in anger.
"That's it! You die!" Larxene screamed hysterically as she leapt into the air gathering a vast amount of Lightning into her hands intending to slam it into the area and destroy the area along with Naruto.
"Wind Style: Great Vacuum Sphere!" AN5: Naruto said as he took a massive breath of air before releasing as a massive wave of wind. The wind easily overwhelmed the lightning and made Larxene scream as she was forced into the air and then slammed into the ground by another wind burst above her.
Marluxia had recovered and seeing Naruto sword had vanished he ran towards Naruto.
Naruto slammed his hands onto the ground as an Earth Wall appeared in between him and Marluxia.
"You think a silly wall can protect you? How foolish! I can cut it and you down in one swoop!" Marluxia declared as he raised his scythe ready to cut through it.
Naruto placed a hand on the wall and backflipped it away just as Marluxia scythe cut through the wall.
However, Marluxia smirk vanished when he noticed the wall, he cut through had pieces of papers with strange symbols on it as them glowed. Then a series of explosions filled the area as the paper bombs activated from the forced contact.
Marluxia grunted as he was forced to take the explosions before he was sent flying and landing wounded and unable to move to the nearly as wounded Larxene who was conscious and unable to get up.
"Dammit. I guess we lost." Marluxia admitted as he coughed weakly.
"Just finish us off. Its what light is destined to do to the darkness right?" Larxene said bitterly as she glared weakly at Naruto who stood several feet from them with his face down.
"Naruto?" Kairi asked uncertain as she and the other lights were in awe of Naruto's skills once again.
"He doesn't leave any openings. Its almost like he plans things out even as he is fighting." Aqua noted with wonder.
"I didn't know you for one to give up." Naruto said strangely as he kept looking down but his voice was abuit higher.
"What are you talking about?" Marluxia asked in frustration.
Naruto looked up but his expression was one of tired annoyance and dissappoitement.
"You always finished work before I did but here you are slacking off… Its sad… Big brother." Naruto said but his voice was very high pitched.
"What?! What nonsense is this! I am most certainly not your btoehr!" Marluxia said in anger even as something in his heart throbbed.
"And you. You used to be so nice but now all you do is pick on people…. Big sis…" Naruto said as his expression was one of sadness.
"What is happening? Is that brats voice becoming a girls?" Ansem asked as the darkness looked at each other in confusion.
"I suppose you can't tell who I am right now." Naruto said sadly before Naruto looked up into the sky.
"Can you let me talk to them directly?" Naruto in his girly voice asked. Naruto paused and nodded with a smile as his expression changed to a pleased expression.
"Thank You." Naruto said as he glowed a bright light.
After the light vanished a young girl who looked abit younger than Kairi AN6: appeared in front of Naruto with a white dress that showed abit of her shoulder and neckline, white sleeves, thigh high white boots. She had blue eyes long red hair that almost appeared orange in two long ponytails.
"Thanks Naruto. I can take it from here." She said in the same high pithced girly voice that Naruto was using as he nodded and stepped hack. The girl was abit see through showing she was not completely there.
"Whose is that girl? Was she inside of Naruto?" Terra-Nort asked demanding an answer no-one could give him.
'It can't be! Her heart should have moved onto Kingdom Hearts by now! There is no way it entered this brat who is not even 20 years old!' Xigbar who was secretly Luxu thought in denial.
Unbeknownst to all but Naruto who caught them from the edges of his sight. Vanitas and Ventus grabbed their heads and bit their lips as if trying to remember something.
'What's wrong! When I see this girl I feel so much hurt! But I don't know who she is?' Ven asked as his head throbbed.
'Isn't that?' Vanitas thought as memories tried to force themselves into his head.
"Hello Lauriam and Elrena. I have been waiting for you both for a very long time." The girl declared and when they looked confused.
'You forgot your original names? Lauriam. Did you forget you are my big brother? And Elrena you treated me like a little sister all those years ago?" She asked sadly as she shyly grasped her hands together.
"Strelitzia! I remember!" Marluxia said in shock and happiness after a minute.
"Thank Goodness. It's been so long since we talked. I waited all those years for you and her but you fell to darkness and lost your hearts." Strelitzia said sadly as she gave him a sad smile before she walked in front of him.
Marluxia shakily stood up and tried to hug her but his hand just passed through her as she sighed.
"I am sorry. Unlike everyone here I died along time ago. I just waited before I reached Kingdom Hearts but my heart and body were destroyed before the first Keyblade War. I no longer have anything to connect me to the realm. Naruto just found my heart before it passed onto Kingdom Hearts." Strelitzia revealed sadly.
"First Keyblade War?! Then does that mean they are all from the ancient Past?" Aqua asked Mickey who nodded his head slowly.
"Well golly. How are they now?" Goofy asked in confusion.
Riku put a hand on his chin. "Time Travel? If somehow a version of themselves existed in our time they could get here from the past." Riku noted.
"I remember. We searched for you together, right? But then we forgot why we needed more power." Larxene gasped softly.
"Yeah. We forgot who we were searching for but now you found us." Marluxia said gratefully as Strelitzia gave him a shaky smile.
Marluxia looked at Naruto who had a look of sadness.
"Thank you. Now please destroy us so we can be reborn as the people who Strelitzia remembered. Not these shells full of darkness and hate." Marluxia asked as Larxene was quiet but nodded her head.
"There is something else I can do for you." Naruto declared much to everyone surprise and shock.
Naruto began to weave signs with his hands as Strelitzia eyes widened. Naruto had his head down as he was weaving signs.
"Those signs. Don't Naruto! Stop!" Strelitzia screamed much to everyone shock.
"Stop him! If he does this jutsu he will!" Strelitzia pleaded but before anyone can rush Naruto, he finished the last sign.
"Gedo Art of Rinne Rebirth/ Creation of All things." Naruto declared as bright light surrounded Strelitzia and disappeared from around him.
After a few moments the light vanished to reveal Strelitzia whole and complete with her body fully restored as she took a breath.
"I am alive again?" She breathed. AN7:
All the sudden Naruto dropped to the ground on his knees as he closed his eyes.
"Naruto!" Kairi, Namine and Xion screamed as they and the other lights rushed towards Naruto.
The barrier holding the Darkness was still up.
AN2: Its in interviews translated from Nomaru. Plus, it explains why Roxas always had some emotions in 358/2 days while Axel mostly mimicked emotions till he met Roxas (and later Sora-as shown in a RECOM scene). Roxas going back into Sora made Ventus heart 'return' to Sora and hence why Sora responds to Ventus's heart in DDD and KH3.
AN3: Basically, think of Hashirama the 1st Hokage in his depressed mood when he gets scolded by Madara or his brother Tobirama.
AN4: Feel free to argue but I cannot remember a scene in the games where she ever hugged anyone. She exchanged the pinky promise with Sora and held hands with Kairi as they escaped but I think that's it. This scene is extra special for Namine.
AN5: Danzo used this against Sasuke Sasanoo when they fought
AN6: Its really difficult to tell relative ages in KH but I am guessing Strelitzia is about 14/
AN7: You noticed something? I bolded her words when she shared a body with Naruto, italicized when she was a 'ghost' and had normal font when she was alive. Deliberate!
