"You're such an intelligent girl!", one of the guys said to Mertle, that same evening Mr. Plotz found the letter on his desk. "Thank you", she said, fully accepting the compliment. She always did that, being a spoiled brat she was. "So, you ready to do this?", he asked. "Of course", she said, smiling excitedly, "But tomorrow". "Alrigh!", he said contently, shaking her hand in agreement, "Get some sleep then, ok?".
The next day, Dr. Scratchensniff got an unexpected phone call. "Hello?" "Scratchensniff!!", he heard the CEO yelling on the other side, then spoke in a quieter voice, "Do you take care of someone called Lilo Pelekai?". The psychiatrist made a confused face, "Ja...?".
"Well she has lost control!", he kept on yelling, "Do you have any idea what she has done to me?!". The psychiatrist's face turned pale. He hung up and went to the nurse's office. "Yes, doctor?", she asked. At first, he couldn't say anything. He tried to find the words to explain the shock he felt. Finaly, he spoke, "What happened yesterday?".
"Hey, Lilo", said Wakko, "You said Mertle makes you miserable, right?". She sighed, "Yeah. Why?". "Well", he said, "You don't look like she does. I mean, you've just gone trough a much worse situation, you know that?". Lilo just stared blankly imto space, lost in tought. How could she explain that Mertle might be a cause for her anxciety?
"I don't know...", she finaly said. "Do you mind then if we go and face her now?", asked Wakko, taking her hand. Lilo shivered just at the tought of it. "Wakko", she said, "You can't just go there and-". "Why not?", he asked, a confident smile growing on his face, "Come on, you won't go alone there, right? Neither will I, we'll be together", his voice was cheerful by now.
Lilo stared at him with a frown. She wished so much she could be that confident. But she wasn't. Still, if she could only try... "Lilo", he said, looking at her, "There's no reason to worry, ok? If anything goes wrong, I'll be there". She couldn't do anything but hug him at that, "Thank you...".
So while the exact same girl they were going to face was just heading to the movie lot with a goal to kill them and the psychiatrist was feverishly thinking of a solution to the problem Lilo now had with the CEO, the two went out to face whatever was waiting for them, as though they knew all of this was happening. Of course they didn't tell the other two Warner siblings about it.
The tension grew feverishly inside of her. The air was charged with it and it was hard to breathe. But Lilo couldn't give up right now, she shouldn't have. Not only that it was too early, but Wakko was right, they had to face their emotions, no matter how dangerous that was for them.
Wakko would tighten his grip on her hand every time he saw a frown on her face. He stared at her all the time, knowing how she felt about this. Still, he was ready to risk anything just so Lilo could overcome her fears. Because then, she'd be able to confront her bully, which was her main goal. If he didm't have a chance to confront his "bullies", Wakko hoped she could do it for both of them.
"There she is!", he whispered in Lilo's ear, seeing they were standing right behind her. "I know...", Lilo whispered back, not excited at all. "Come on, we're going to jump in front of her", said Wakko and went behind a wall, literaly dragging Lilo along. Mertle acted like she didn'd notice, she just waited for this moment. "Ok", said Wakko, "On 3. 1, 2, 3, jump!".
In a second, the two were standing in front of who could be considered as the youngest villain ever. "Aha!", said Wakko, pointing a finger at her, "I knew you were up to something!". "Well, well, well", said Mertle, "Look who's standing right in front of me. Who's so brave to just jump out and try to scare me". Lilo gasped. What was happenimg? Why would she turn into such a villian?
"Mertle, what...what has become of you?!", Lilo fimaly managed to raise her voice, let alone say something. Now Wakko gasped, "Good job Lilo! I told you, you did it!". "Listen you two!", said Mertle and they turned to her again, "Maybe you knew I'd be here...but you have no idea what I've got".
Both of them shoock like sticks and held hands as tight as possible when they saw the gun in her hand. It looked like an ordinary water gun, which it was, while it contained the killing substance. No one would ever imagine a girl that young could even get the D.I.P. from somewhere, let alone use it.
"Just try!", Wakko shouted as he hugged Lilo so she wouldn't get hurt. He was ready to die for all of them, he didn't really belive things would get any better anyway. To his surprise though, Mertle didn't aim at both of them, but only at him. Lilo.gasped, "Mertle, what are you doing?! Stop, you can't-".
Too late. She shoot. And basicaly seperated them. Wakko just flew somewhere, and Lilo just stood there, her heart pounding, tears in her eyes. If only she knew. If only someone told her it was him who would get hurt. She'd tell him not to protect her. She'd hug him instead. Her injury would be smaller. But now...
Lilo didn't even try to dry her eyes. Wakko was probably dead by now, and there was no point in hiding her feelings. She turned around and slowly went to wherever she tought Wakko was. When there, she saw him curled up against the wall, his right hand on his head, drenched. Wait a minute... drenched from what? Lilo looked a little closer and realised...he was melting, he was...erasing.
