I can already feel this one being a Hard one, cause it's a Hecate one and idk what hecate's gonna be up to right now.. Like, i lowkey wanna skip a chapter just to get to some Mildred and Pippa bonding.. (Spoiler alert from future Myserious whos currently writing the next chapter.. I regret meny things..) Chapter 26: Family Coulors..

Hecate had thought of Pippa's threat.. Wondering all day when it would hit… It wasn't till that evening her Maglet let her Know Felicity had updated her page.. No one, apart from maybe Pippa, knew she followed it. But, Hecate used it as a way to indirectly know what was happening around the school, and punish any questionable behaviour without someone having to tell her personally.. She's very Invested in the ongoing in her school, as any Deputy Head must be.

"Miss Hardbroom and Miss Pentangle in happy relationship.." She Mutters out.. She didn't like her private life suddenly being so public..

"Is she wrong?" A Voice chimed from behind her, making Hecate jump slightly. She turned to see Pippa.. She didn't look sad, but kind and reassuring. Hecate couldn't help but feel that she wasn't good enough for Pippa. Her soft, kind, beautiful love was so different to herself.. Since they were children, all Hecate had done in response to her love was hurt her. She was trying her best not to.. She wanted Pippa to be as happy as possible.

"She isn't wrong, Pipsqueak." The use of the nickname softened Pippa's face as she moved closer to Hecate. "I take it this is your damage control..?"

Pippa Shrugged slightly. "I.. Spoke to a few Pentangles students.. And got them on board for the story to be an old one to Felicity.. Paired with the knowledge that you and I are.. Something. She was happy to leave Mildred alone. Though, she seemed more interested in our love life anyway." Pippa chuckled..

"Felicity admires you.." Hecate informed her. It was hard not to see that Felicity idolised Pippa Pentangle.

Her pink love hummed before changing to topic. "I've spoken to Millie, and we have decided that at the weekend, I'm taking her out."

"You've decided, have you?" It was amusing. Hecate had no issue with Pippa deciding on a free day to steal Mildred away, She trusted Pippa completely.

Pippa's face paled. "That is fine, isn't it? Mildred wanted shopping advance.." Hecate would definitely prefer Pippa to handle -that- aspect of things.

"It's Fine, Pippa." Hecate assured her. "I'll inform the Grand Wizard that she'll be leaving Cackles in your company.. You can make sure Ada is aware.." She wanted to make sure no one else would have an issue with this.

"Well of course, I wasn't about to sneak her out like a thief in the night!" Pippa laughed that very sweet, heartfelt laugh. Her laugh ended up falling short as she realised something. "Oh! I completely forgot, I need to go talk to Gwen.. We're developing a Chanting Contest."

As Pippa Ran off to talk to Miss Bat, it amazed Hecate how well she seemed to get along with everyone she encountered. Every member of staff seemed innamered with her.

Soon, Mildred came Home. Yes.. Home. That was what this place was for them..

"I heard Pippa will be taking you out shopping." Hecate said with coy and tactfulness. She somehow managed to sound both interested and completely uninterested at the same time.

"Yea! It'll be great to get some shopping done.. Of Course I'll try not to spend too much mon-" Mildred suddenly stopped speaking as if realising something crucial. Where was she going to get this money from? Hecate knew where she was going to get the Money from.

"I take it you do have money?" Hecate said, her voice remaining level and even.. Almost teasing.. Mildred shook her head slightly. "Then it's a good thing myself and Pippa do". Most people wouldn't realise that Hecate had money.. She came from a prestigious family.. She works every day.. And her living costs are very low. Money builds up.

Mildreds eyes widened and said "I can't ask that of you.."

"You're not, Mildred. As my.. Ward.. It is my duty and pleasure." Hecate settled on, reassuring Mildred on this matter.

The newest Hardbroom smiled at Hecate, moving forward on the balls of her feet, as if ready to move forward to give Hecate a hug, but holding herself back. She had mixed feelings about hugs.. She couldn't remember the last time she hugged her mother.. It must have been while she was still a small child.. She'd hugged Ada and Pippa when needed..

Yes, she did also give Mildred a big hug after the last Miss Hubble fight.. But she was absolutely terrified of losing Mildred.. And, the child had just told her she loved her.. It was the least Hecate could do to show her affliction.

Hecate took tender steps forward towards Mildred before placing a hand onto the Girls Shoulder. "Do Not worry about the expenses.. Consider it part of your Christmas Present.." Mildred smiled, but seemed almost disappointed at the hand on her shoulder.. Hecate in a moment weakness moved her hand so she could pull Mildred into a hug.. "Not a word." She muttered, feeling Mildred only cling on tighter, as if Hecate would fly away any moment..

"I wouldn't dare.." Mildred said with her cheeky smile. "While I'm out shopping and spending your life savings.." She was joking. Hecate really hoped she was joking. "Could I buy some Ceremonial robes.. For things like the wedding.." It.. wasn't half a bad idea. But now Hecate really thought she wasn't joking. Those robes were anything but cheap..

"That sounds like a sensible idea, Mildred.." A Thought crossed over Hecate's Mind. "Have you considered what colours you wish for them to be?" It took mildred a moment before it seemed to click..

"Ceremonial robes are usually decorated in the family colours.." There was a sudden sadness in her voice.

"The Hardbrooms Family Colors are Black, Dark Blue and Silver.." Hecate Provided. "The Pentangles are Gray, Purple and Gold.." Mildred tilted her head slightly, it was almost cute.. Almost. "I don't know the Hubbles of old.. But we may be able to do some digging, should you wish."

"I-I'm a little confused.." Mildred confessed. "Are you just telling me.. Or are you giving me the option to use yours..?"

Hecate thought over what might be appropriate a response for such a conversation. "All Hardbrooms have used those colours.. And as you are a Hardbroom now, They are yours to use. But I won't force you to." She could practically see her mother rolling in her grave over this blatant dismissal of tradition..

"Thank you, Hecate.. I appreciate it." Mildred nodded, taking in the information given.

Hecate was extending a Branch.. As Much as she would like to see Mildred embracing the role of a Hardbroom by wearing those colours.. She was accurately aware that Mildred may wish to hold onto her role as a Hubble for just a little longer.. Especially after her mothers attack a few months ago..

She'd leave that choice up to Mildred.

I just wanna quickly explain my reasoning for the Family coulors Iv choosen. Pippa's is just the Pentangle Acadamy Coulors.. Purple, Gray and Gold.

Hecates are coulors she wears most often. Black is the main coulor, she has Silver with the likes of her watch (and Pippa mentioned her once wearing a Silver gown to leavers), and if theres any other coulor on it, its usually a dark blue.

I feel like the hubbles would of been something like a white, orange and Silver. (Mildred when shes in her 'normie' clothing, seems to favour Orangers, reds and Yellows.. )
