It was a rainy day. The sky was so gray, it looked depressing. It actually was depressing, and a sign of danger, but neither one of the four of them knew it. Rainy days were like any other for the three, and for Lilo it was only a sad day because of what happened to her parents.
"Come on Lilo", said Wakko that afternoon while they were getting ready to head to the psychiatry building, "We'll be late, hurry up". Lilo was just sitting there on the couch, staring blankly into space.
"This is annoying", she said tiredly. "What?", asked Wakko. "The weather", she pointed out the window. Wakko sighed and sat beside her, "I know how you feel...but you know where we're going now, right?". Lilo just nodded. "Don't worry", he smiled, "It'll be better as soon as we get there, I promise".
Lilo smiled back and hugged him. "Come on", he said and they got up from the couch. His siblings were going together with them because they had filming. So they all put the jackets on, took their umbrellas and went out.
"Zo", said Scratchy once they came and sat down, "Pretty bad day today, ja?". Lilo sighed, "Yeah. It's terrible". "Oh", said Scratchy, "It reminds you of something, right?".
"Oh great!", said Mertle to herself while she watched all of this from a corner of the street, "It's raining", she frowned. She looked around once more to see if the coast was clear and ran out, clenching the bottle with the poison in one hand. The rain kept pouring down on her, so she ran as fast as she could, being so close to the water tower.
Finaly, she came to the ladder and climbed up, shaking all along. It was important for her to do this as soon as possible, she didn't want to get caught. So she ran to the bedroom and quickly put the bottles under their pillows. She knew where Lilo's bed was, but as for Wakko's, she just guessed. She left as quickly as she came, wanting to get back unnoticed.
"Ah, zat's normal", said Scratchy once Lilo had retold him the whole story, "You're not alone", he smiled. Lilo smiled back, her smile small but still big enough to show that she felt better. "And you Wakko? How are you?".
"Where have you been?!", Katie whisper-shouted once her and Mertle closed themselves into their room after she returned. "None of your bussiness", said Mertle coldly. "Ugh! Listen!", said Katie, "We're going to turn you into a better person like everyone else here and you have no other choice, alright?!".
Mertle crossed her arms and smiled evily, "And what if you're too late?". "I'm not scared of you!", Katie exclaimed firmly, "You either stop, or we call the police!'. "Oh yeah?!", Mertle raised her voice as well, "Have you ever tought about how I feel maybe?". At that Katie fell silent for a moment, but quickly got herself back together, "Well that doesn't mean you can do bad things! Do you need a psychiatrist maybe?".
Now that really got on Mertle's nerves. She launched forward and they broke into a fight. Well, it was more of a defence fight for Katie, since Mertle practicaly attacked her. Eventualy, Katie's mom came into the room and they stopped immediately. "What's going on?!", she demanded. "She attacked me!", said Katie. "And she offended me!", exclaimed Mertle.
"Alright, Mertle! That's it!", Katie's mom exclaimed without thinking, because she didn't have to, "You're grounded!". And with that, she took Katie's hand and closed the door. "We need to take her to the psychiatrist", she said on their way down. "That's the reason why she attacked me", said Katie, "I asked her if she needed one".
Lilo sighed, "I'm tired". "Me too", said Wakko, holding her hand. It really had been a bad day, considering the weather was depressing, which made them just stay home, under a blanket. So right when they got back home, they got ready for bed, even though it was only 8 pm. Once they layed down in their beds though, each of them found a bottle under the pillow.
Wakko, being himself, drank the entire liquid at once. The coffein tasted nice, and the bitter liquid was barely noticable. Lilo on the other hand, tought she had to drink it, so she did it slower. The coffein confused her, and the bitter liquid wasn't so strong, of course. After that they fell asleep, too tired to even think.
Mertle woke up in the middle of the night and realised it was time. This time she snuck out trough the window, which was a little harder, but still better than being careful not to get caught. Once she landed on the ground, she started running towards the movie lot, knowing exactly what was about to happen. Once she saw it, she stopped at the very beginning, hid behind a wall and waited.
Wakko quickly sat up in his bed, breathing steady, his heart pounding. What was that? Why did he have a nightmare? He was somehow scared to stare into the distance, so he hung his head down and stared at his white gloved hands. The whole situation confused him to the point he didn't know what to think.
He wanted to go down and wake Lilo up and tell her what was happening, but he was too scared to go down due to the nightmare he had. And that confused him as well. The nightmare just came out of the blue. He didn't even remember what the nightmare was about. All he knew was that it was a nightmare, nothing else.
"Hey Wakko", he suddenly heard a whisper. He turned his head towards the stairs. He saw Lilo standing there, looking at him. "What is it?", he asked. "I...I had a nightmare", she said. Wakko slowly gasped, "I had one too...". "Really?", she asked. "Yeah...I don't know...". "You know", said Lilo, "I feel like taking a walk. I think it'll clear my mind". "Good iidea", Wakko smiled. "Well, come on", said Lilo and he crawled to the stairs. She helped him climb down and they started tiptoeing across the room.
Once they made it out of the tower, they felt free to talk. "Do you have any idea what your nightmare was about?", asked Wakko. Lilo just shoock her head. She wished she knew, but she didn't. "I knew it", he said with a sigh, "Me neither". They held hands the whole way. Suddenly, they both stopped.
"You ok?", asked Lilo. "I'm fine", said Wakko. "Are you sure?", she asked, "Because you look like you're gonna faint". "Yeah...", he said, "You might wanna catch me". With that, he started falling, and Lilo did. As soon as she caught him though, she fell on the ground with him.
