In a study, Noah and Emma are searching through drawers and shelves, hoping the find the egg's location. As she's looking around, Emma spots a picture of McLean standing next to a fairly young-looking woman with several kids situated beneath their smiling faces.
"I mean, how does this monster have five kids?" Emma asks in frustration. "We don't get to have one." She crouches down to search through the cabinets while Noah stands and observes the photo in question.
"Well, his wife looks like she's about 15," Noah comments before moving towards the other side of the room.
"Uh… Yeah. My sperm are fine," Emma said, offended by Noah's comment.
"Right, right," Noah said, searching through a drawer while not actually paying any attention to the conversation in question. "No, I know, honey. We're just gonna…" He closes the drawer before moving on to the shelves. "We're gonna keep plugging away until something sticks, okay?"
Emma stands up and turns to face him, looking a bit perturbed by his tone of voice. "Gee, you really sound like a guy who wants to have a kid."
"Well, you know, I'm just…" He tries coming up with an excuse in the hopes of refocusing their attention back onto the egg hunt as opposed to the growing awkwardness currently plaguing the area. "I'm a little distracted right now, honey, as you might imagine."
"Look, if you're not into this, you kind of gotta tell me," Emma said. Noah, realizing they've reached the point of no return, gets up from his location and approaches his wife.
"Listen. I wanna have a baby, but how do I explain this? Um…" Noah pauses, trying to come up with the right words, before coming with a plausible explanation that Emma may potentially buy. "Do you remember how we used to play Pac-Man at Ridonculous Lanes, and we could play all night?" Emma nods, intrigued by where he's going with this. "Do you remember, this one time, I made it all the way up to level 86, and you were not too far behind, right?"
"Eighty-five, but… And then I kicked your ass at Galaga," Emma said, believing Noah to have been bragging about his accomplishments, before getting back to whatever point Noah was trying to make. "So anyway, what is the point?"
"Anyway," Noah continues, "do you remember how we stayed alive so long? All we did was we ate the pellets. We never ate the fruit because the fruit is how they get you."
Emma nods in puzzlement, before realizing what Noah was getting at. "Oh, you're doing a metaphor!"
"Yes, but here's the problem. No matter how long you and I stayed alive in the game, neither one of us ever made it up to the leader board."
Emma takes a moment to let Noah's explanation sink, and upon realizing the meaning behind his metaphor, she becomes fairly irritated. "And you think if we have a baby, we'll be officially settling down, and you'll never make it onto the leader board of life?"
"That's such a good metaphor," Noah claims.
"Yeah, no, it's not," Emma tells him, bluntly. "It's kind of bullshit."
Noah appears surprised, clearly having misread the signs. "Why?"
"What are we, 16 years old?" Emma asked. "You wanna go backpacking through Europe? Huh? You wanna, like, have some wine coolers on a football field with Cindy Crawford?"
Noah shrugs, indicating that that last statement isn't totally out of the question. "Not specifically."
"You know who's always gone for the fruit, Noah?" Emma asks. "Your criminal brother, and that is why the ghosts are about to eat him!"
"Look who's embracing the metaphor," Noah retorts.
"I'm so…" Emma brings her hand to her forehead in resignation. "I'm… Wow." She turns back to her husband, looking fairly disappointed. "You know what? All this time, I've just been thinking that if I helped you beat Dave, you would be less stressed. But you don't wanna beat Dave. You wanna be Dave."
Noah shifts on his feet, signifying the comment had more of an impact on him that either he or Emma realized. "I'm gonna look somewhere else," Emma says as she leaves the area, causing Noah to give a disheveled appearance.
Meanwhile, in the basement, Chef and Rodney continue to violently pummel each other while the onlookers continue to shout and yell in cheers, whoops, and hollers.
As this is going on, an employee of McLean lays a stack of bills on a console table and a gray-haired man runs more stacks of money through a counter. He picks up a bundle of bills, turns towards a painting, and slides it across the wall, revealing a safe situated behind said painting, where he proceeds to punch in the combination.
As Chef and Rodney continue to mercilessly beat each other up, Geoff and Bridgette continue watching the spectacle, with Geoff being amongst the other patrons yelling at the top of his lungs while Bridgette looks nervous by their current surroundings.
"Come on, Rodney!" Geoff yells out. "Chef ain't shit!"
"Hey, ADHD!" Bridgette tells him to gritted teeth, nervously, before pulling him down to her level so they can properly whisper in secret. "We're supposed to be looking for the…" She's about to continue when something catches her and Geoff's eyes.
We discover that the safe has captured their attention, and we find that, amongst the safe's contents is an ornate, ruby-colored egg covered with a gold lattice and sapphire gems.
"Holy shit," Geoff whispers under his breath. "I'm right again." Geoff, seeing that someone idiotically left the safe open, begins wading through the crowd, only to be stopped by Bridgette.
"Wait, where are you going?" Bridgette asked, fearful.
"Everybody's watching the fight," Geoff explains. "I'm gonna go grab it."
"No, don't fucking—" Bridgette begins, only to be interrupted by Geoff, who attempts to calm her down.
"Be cool. Be cool. Be cool," he tells her, before continuing towards the egg.
As the fight continues, Geoff maneuvers his way through the audience, pretending to cheer in order to draw attention away from him. He continues to sidestep through the crowd and circles his way towards the safe, as Bridgette watches on, nervously. Finding the safe unattended, he picks up the egg with his free hand and grins victoriously at Bridgette, who signals for him to get out of there.
Just then, Chef deals a roundhouse kick to Rodney, who sways, then collapses at Geoff's feet. All eyes turn to Geoff, who stands with the egg in one hand and his champagne glass in the other. The shouting ceases as everyone eyes him, suspiciously.
"Who the hell are you?" McLean asked.
Geoff, realizing he's been caught, attempts to play dumb. "Me?" he asks.
"Yeah. Who are you? And what are you doing with my egg?" McLean asks, displeased.
"Oh. I was just admiring it," Geoff claims. "I got a bunch of these fancy-pants eggs back at home. In my mansion. This one's ugly."
"Uh-huh," McLean nods, smiling wickedly, indicating that he doesn't believe Geoff's story at all. He looks around the room at everyone's blank faces. "Does anybody know this guy?"
"I certainly hope so. I'm the CEO of Cyberdyne Systems," Geoff claims, nervously.
"I should go," Bridgette says to herself, knowing that this whole thing has gone south. However, her feet remain planted right where they are.
After a moment, McLean turns towards Chef. "Chef, take him down." Chef and several imposing-looking security guards begin approaching Geoff, menacingly.
"Everyone hold on a goddamn second!" Geoff yells out, causing everyone to appear momentarily intimidated. Geoff, realizing that he's now stuck between a rock and a hard place, drops his glass and flees.
"Chef!" McLean commands.
Geoff dashes up a flight of stairs with Chef and other suited men in pursuit. Geoff looks down the side of the stairs and yelps upon seeing the amount of heavy artillery barreling towards him.
Upstairs, Emma and Noah exit the study and notice Ryan and Stephanie exiting from the bedroom across the mezzanine.
"Hey, any luck yet?" Noah asked them.
"No," Ryan tells them.
"You?" Stephanie asked, prompting to hold their hands up in resignation.
"Go! Go! Go!" Geoff yells out, redirecting Emma and Noah's attention. "I got it! I got it! Come on! Let's go!" He says as he passes by them, sprinting while holding the egg in both hands. He bolts down another flight of stairs, only to get tripped up due to the speed influx, causing him to stumble and fall down the stairs.
As Geoff gets to his feet, he sees Chef continuing his pursuit, prompting him to bolt towards the hallway door, only for a guard to block his path. He attempts to get away, accidentally running into a waitress holding a tray of drinks, resulting in him being cornered behind the kitchen island.
Just then, Stephanie enters the kitchen and Geoff throws the egg to her. Realizing she now has a target on her back, she scampers through the living area and into the study but sees a guard approaching. She doubles back and races towards a door situated down a hallway, only to discover that its locked. She turns back and sees Ryan in the study.
"Stephanie, I'm open!" Ryan calls out to her. "Hit me. Hit me. Baby." She launches the egg past the guard to Ryan and he darts out as the guard turns his attention towards him. Ryan sees another guard coming straight at him, and skids back into the room while the guard slips and slides across the floor.
"Ryan, up here! Throw it!" Emma calls out to him from the second-floor banister. He throws it up to Emma before the guard can stop him. "Oh! Oh, my God, yes, yes!" She bolts out of there and approaches the staircase. "Yes, yes, yes!" She grabs onto the railing and attempts to get downstairs, only for her progress to be impeded by an approaching guard, prompting her to double back in the other direction. "Oh, no! No! No! Get away! Get away!" She continues to race down the hallway, passing by the staircase Geoff tumbled down earlier, nearly getting grabbed by another guard. However, she manages to make a sharp turn by grabbing onto the banister, resulting in her pursuers colliding with each other and tumbling to the floor.
She barges through a set of doors and runs into a large bedroom. "Oh, my God!" she exclaims, her heart beating a mile a minute due to the adrenaline rush currently coursing through her veins. Seeing the only way out is through the door she just entered, which is currently being blocked by security, she races towards a banister situated just outside the room.
"Emma! Emma, where are you?" Noah calls out to her from an unknown location.
"Noah!" she calls out to him, and sees him situated at across from on a second-floor balcony.
"Over here!" Noah says, signaling for her to throw the egg in his direction. Emma hurls the egg across the mezzanine to Noah, who manages to catch it and attempts to bolt down the stairs with it.
However, a nearby guard grabs him by the shoulders and shoves him down, causing him to drop the egg. Wobbling from side to side, the egg rolls across the floorboards towards a ledge. "No, no, no!" Noah begins crawling towards it, but the security guard seems to have a firm grip on Noah's legs. "Get off of me." The egg begins precariously balancing upon the edge with Noah just barely being out of reach as the result of the guard's grip. Eventually, Noah manages to shove the guard off of him and grasps at it, but his fingers send it tumbling over the ledge towards the floor below… where it lands neatly in Bridgette's hands.
Bridgette looks up at Noah before looking at the egg in astonishment, smirking. "That was easy," she claims, confidently. Chef appears from the hallway and charges towards her. She begins screaming in terror at the sight of the hulking brute approaching her like a bull that has just laid eyes upon a ruby red cape. However, right before he runs her down, Geoff appears and tackles him, causing them to go flying onto a glass coffee table, which amazingly remains intact, despite Chef's hulking figure and size.
Ryan and Stephanie see this, with Stephanie giving off a reaction of surprise and Ryan giving off a reaction of bewilderment.
"Man, glass tables are acting weird tonight," he comments.
Now, we're shown the group racing out the front door and bolting towards the van.
"Go, go, go!" Stephanie calls out to them as she and Ryan lead the pack.
"Get in! Get in the van!" Ryan says.
Get in, get in, get in!" Emma yells out, signaling for everyone to move their asses if they don't want to become chopped liver.
Chef and two of the guards come chasing them, but they zoom away in Ryan's minivan, escaping through the gate and onto the highway, gearing up to save Dave's ass and end this stressful evening once and for all.
