Dipper's phone went off. He checked the notifications. There was a new message from Mabel.
"Hey Dipper?" sent 9:52 pm
"Yeah Mabel?' sent 9:53 pm
"Have you thought about the deal with bill yet?" sent 9:54 pm
"no not really but I know what to ask him" sent 9:55 pm
"well that's good, Pacifica says hi. Also I'm sleeping over, unless something goes wrong on your end" sent 9:55 pm
"K. tell her i said hey as well" sent 9:57 pm
Dipper shut off his phone after a few minutes, and turned to check his alarm-clock on his nightstand.
Ten o' three.
"Why does time have to move slowly when you want it to go quickly?" Dipper grumbled, voicing his annoyance.
Then his stomach growled and he realized that he hadn't eaten anything since lunch. Getting up and trudging downstairs to the kitchen, Dipper looked through the pantry and found nothing suitable. He then opened the fridge. The top shelf had a couple of cans of Pitt Cola, and besides it, a strange pink container with rainbow stickers on the lid. Looking into the strange Tupperware, he found spaghetti Mable made a few days ago.
Spaghetti in hand and TV turned on, Dipper watched 'The Used To Be About History Channel', hoping it would make the time go by faster. Fortunately for him, time went by quickly now (really, that fast? Time is a messed up thing), and it was time to make a possibly world-breaking deal.
After going back upstairs to get his jacket and trademark trucker hat, and after putting on his pre-made backpack, he left the shack and entered the nighttime forest.
It took a good amount of time walking (he wouldn't be surprised if it took him a little less than an hour), but finally, he reached his destination. A clearing not too far from the Gravity Falls and Boring border. He barely noticed that the statue was gone. He still did, though, and that was all the proof he needed to know that his dream hadn't just been a dream. Still, even with the lack of a suspiciously nacho-shaped statue, he knew he was in the right place.
"Bill! I'm here!" he called out into the empty air. "Get out here you triangular fu―"
"Ah, Pine Tree, you made it! So, how about the deal? Have you made up your mind yet? Your time is running out you, know," Bill chirped, appearing out of nowhere in front of the young man. It startled Dipper a bit, to see the demon pop out of nowhere in front of him, but the surprise was momentary, and before he knew it, he was speaking.
"I've thought about the deal. You get what you want, and I get what I want, right?"
"Yep! Now, did you want anything else?"
"You need to get this straight. You must help out the shack, or we'll kick you out, or just kill you."
Bill blinked, somewhat surprised at Dipper's statement that he would kill Bill (and a part of him doubted that he had the ability to do so), but ultimately decided not to dwell on it for long.
"Fine. Now my part is more... complicated. I can do lots of things for you in this form, so that's part of the deal? But I get to go where ever I want."
"I don't trust you not to kill everyone in Gravity Falls," Dipper said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Don't worry about that Pine Tree, I wouldn't be able to kill anyone in human form unless I have one of your human weapons."
"You made that morbid quick," Dipper mumbled. "But fine, will you not be able to use any of your powers? Or would you simply lose them if we made the deal?"
"I wouldn't be able to inhabit my vessel with them so yes, I would lose them." 'For good,' Bill wanted to add on, but he couldn't tell Pine Tree that. Not yet, in any case.
"Okay then, one last thing. You will not, and I repeat, WILL NOT, hurt anyone or anything unless me, Mabel, Grunkle Stan, or Great-uncle Ford give you permission," Dipper said, his expression calm in contradiction to the emotions he was feeling inside. He'd learned how to stay calm in situations like this over the years from his Great-Uncle Ford, and it came in handy often. It had yet to fail him.
Bill flashed red, as if he was getting mad, but went back to gold in less than a second. But Dipper still noticed. It was hard not to, really. "Okay, fine. Now is that a deal?" Bill ventured, reaching out his hand. It lit up with cobalt blue flames. Dipper stayed quiet for a while, like he was thinking over the deal again, and if he should really be doing this. Bill, despite himself, felt some small bit of fear inside, and he hoped that somehow, Pine Tree would take the deal. If he didn't, then―
"It's a deal."
And before Bill, or Dipper, could process what he was about to do...
Dipper shook his hand. The fire spread to the young man's arm, and everything was engulfed in a bright light...
