Records of Time, The Fated Meeting
"For the first eight years of my life, I didn't have much of a childhood. My parents were murdered when I was a baby, the family that took me in treated me like a slave and I didn't have any friends. All I ever wanted was a family that loves me. Little did I know I would get my wish."
In a hotel, an eight year old girl with messy, black hair, green eyes and a lightning bolt shaped scar on her forehead is seen in a corner clutching a deer doll with a fearful expression. The girl wears an oversized shirt that looks worn-out, a pair of shorts with a few holes here and there and flat shoes. She also wears glasses.
Around the hall, the bodies of various people can be seen dead on the floor. Most notably, a walrus-like man, a horse-like woman and a pig-like boy. The culprits being a group of monsters that seem angelic in nature. Some of them carry poles, swords or, strangely enough, tubas.
These monsters were currently surrounding a woman with braided black hair with a red ribbon lacing around her locks like highlights, grey eyes, a beauty mark on her left cheek, black glasses and floral earrings. She wears a unique black suit with puffy sleeves and short hair-like ruffles protruding out of them. A golden watch also seems to be embedded in her outfit.
The woman's suit features a medallion-decorated skirt with a large braided bow on the back, both fashioned out of her braided hair and splits at the sides. The sides of her legs are uncovered, with tiny braid patterns forming images of roses, exposing her skin underneath. She wears white gloves decorated with golden roots, flowers and a crescent moon on the back of the palm and feature golden decorative fingernails on them with purple palms. Her shoes are a lighter color than the rest of her suit and the heels are made to look like a tree as well, with golden branches, roots forming the soles and flowers decorating her ankles. Oddly enough, a purple gun with three barrels are attached to her heels.
The woman adjusts her glasses with a confident smile. With a flourish, two guns similar to the ones on her heels appear in her hands. The woman takes a few steps towards the monsters before taking a stance. She then begins to battle the creatures.
As she watched, the little girl couldn't help but notice that the woman's fighting style looked elegant, stylish and just plain cool. The girl's fear was slowly being diminished by the woman's display.
"My "uncle" had been given the chance to get a promotion. The woman who usually looks after me when my relatives can't was unavailable. So, my relatives had to take me along. The second we got to the hotel, these strange monsters showed up and killed my relatives. I had always been able to see these monsters even though other people couldn't. They thought I was crazy anyway. Every time I saw them, they looked like they were looking for something. I later learned that something... was me. But whenever I went back into the house, they just left."
After the woman defeated several monsters, the ground started to rumble. Suddenly, a giant sword bursts through the window. It sweeps forward, cutting the building in half. Before it could reach them, the woman dashes towards the younger girl, scoops her up in her arms jumps out the window. It was night-time, so the moon was out. Strangely enough, instead of plummeting to their death, the womans feet seemed to stick to the side of the building thanks to a strange symbol. The woman then runs up the building as rubble falls. More of the monsters from before appear and chase after the two. The woman shoots at the monsters with her gun while carrying the girl in her other arm.
"I thought I was gonna die like the rest of my family. But then... SHE showed up. Watching her take on those monsters, I couldn't help but be amazed. It was like meeting your favorite superhero. When she fought, it was almost like she was dancing. She was so confident, strong and brave. Like nothing scared her at all."
After gunning down several creatures, a large red muscular monster with a giant sword with a face on it and gold wings appears from the right. It then lunges it's sword at the two dark-haired females. Time seems to slow down as the woman jumps and lands on the sword. She then runs along it while other winged monsters try to attack her. The woman jumps and lands on one of the creatures before using the others as steppingstones before jumping to the roof of another building.
The large red monster looms over the two females along with a few others. The older one puts down the child. The girl hesitantly reaches for the woman, only for the latter to gesture for the girl to stay back. The woman then takes a few steps forward before a red glyph appears on her uncovered back.
"AVAVAGO!" The woman exclaims with a few gestures.
The woman's hair grows larger into a twister-like fashion before shooting into the ground. The dark-haired woman is then seen with less clothing on her, was covered in a red aura and the rest of her hair was now flowing freely. Turns out, the woman's hair... WAS her clothing. A portal appears on the ground and from out of it rises a massive black dragon-like beast with red eyes. Purple lighting briefly covers the beast as it roars (strangely like an elephant) at the angelic monsters. The woman suddenly starts doing an elaborate dance which oddly makes the beast she summoned attack the other monsters.
"Just when I thought she couldn't get anymore amazing, that woman summoned a bloody Kaiju like in those shows my cousin watched. Her dancing somehow made the beast obey her commands. I knew then that what I was seeing was the one thing my relatives hated more than me. I was witnessing honest to god magic."
After decimating the smaller monsters, the dragon sets it's sights on the red creature with the sword. The two spines on the beast light up with a purple charge along with it's chest. The angelic monster brandishes it's sword before rushing towards the kaiju. Just before it's sword can reach the beast, said kaiju unleashes a purple flame from it's mouth. The angelic creature is obliterated by the attack. The girl and the woman aren't able to celebrate as the building begins to crumble. The older woman picks up the child and jumps on top of the kaiju's head. The beast then runs towards the edge of the roof before jumping down. It then slides down the side of the building. Just before it reaches the bottom, the dragon jumps and lands on the ground. The woman then jumps off her summon with the child. The kaiju evaporates into red particles and the woman's outfit reforms.
"Well, I'd say this has been a productive night." The woman says while setting the girl down.
The dark-haired woman examines the child. Said child looks at the woman with awe.
"W-who are you?" The child asks.
The woman leans towards the girl while putting her hands on her hips.
"Isn't it polite to offer one's own name before asking another?" The woman asks with a small smile.
The girl flinches a little before shifting her feet. She then takes a deep breath before looking right at the woman.
"Harriet." The child says. "Harriet Roselyn Potter."
The woman stares at Harriet for a moment before glancing at the deer plushie clutched in the girl's arms. The woman then stands up straight. Her smile still present.
"Well, Bambi." The woman says, getting a blush from Harriet. "You can call me..."
"That night, my life changed. Whether it was for the better or not was a matter of perspective really. That woman would soon become someone very close to me."
"Her name... was Bayonetta."
Prologue, The Witch of Escalation
New York. More specifically, Manhattan. They say if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.
The sun was shining as the people went about their daily lives. In downtown, people are seen leaving a movie theater. The movie in question was Devil May Cry 5. The fifth installment of the popular Devil May Cry series. Two women in particular were chatting about the movie as they walked.
One woman looks to be in her mid-twenties. She has blonde hair, similar to a pixie cut and symmetric hairstyle, laced with violet streaks and pink coloring on the shaved back of her head. She wears vibrant purple and blue eyeshadow with magenta lightning bolts at the sides and blue lipstick and has two piercings on her left ear in the silhouette of a cat head.
The woman wears a black leather jacket, studded with spikes and buckles around the shoulders and wrists, wearing a white graphic shirt depicting a character from the popular television show "Torture Cats" with the word "stake" beneath it that exposes her midriff. The jacket has a holster for her sword, which is in a scarlet and gold tosogu holder, along the back and she appears to keep some of the spiked darts she can throw around the waist. Her belt has numerous blue tartan pouches and her pants are of a similar design but colored in red. She wears a pair of black leather boots that go up to just below the knee. The woman also wears glasses with a unique design and a long blue scarf, with diagonal white and orange stripes going down and fringe on both ends.
This woman is Viola Redgrave. The Untested Firebrand and the multi-dimensional daughter of Bayonetta and Luka Redgrave.
The other woman looks to be a pretty teen with a curvy bewitching figure. She has green eyes and long black hair tied into two side-twin-tails with red ribbons. She wears black glasses, violet eyeshadow, red lipstick and earrings resembling mayflowers.
The woman wears a yellow tube-top, red choker, a gold watch that hangs by a chain around her neck, light pink shorts, black thigh-high socks, red platform sandals and a pink jacket.
This girl is Harriet Potter. The adopted daughter of Cereza, aka Bayonetta and Luka. Also known as the Witch of Escalation.
It's been seven years since Harriet's fateful encounter with the Witch of Genesis herself, Bayonetta. With her relatives dead, the witch decided to take Harriet in. The girl had reminded the woman of herself when she was young and Viola had always wanted a younger sister anyway. Harriet's adopted father, Luka doted on her and had even taken to calling her Harrietta. He even joked about Harriet being a mini-Cereza. Along with Harriet's new family was her aunt Jeanne, Rodin and Enzo.
Shortly after the incident at the hotel, Harriet was surprised to learn that her savior was a witch. More specifically, an Umbra Witch. A clan of European dark arts practitioners from ancient times. The girl was even more surprised when it was revealed that she herself was a witch. Though more along the lines of the magical folk that use wands and are behind modern times. That changed when the young witch asked to become an Umbra Witch like the rest of her family. Bayonetta agreed after a few circumstances surrounding her new daughter were revealed. It took time, but Harriet learned the ways of the Umbra Witches.
Finally. After all the abuse she went through at the hands of the Dursley's, Harriet had what she always wanted. A family that loves her.
"I'll admit, the movie was good." Viola says. "But I still don't get why you said that Nero guy reminds you of me."
"The both of you use swords, right?" Harriet asks. "Same short temper, both of you surviving a world ending crisis, wanting to live up to your parents legacy..."
"Alright!" Viola exclaims while hanging her head. "I get it." Viola raises her head. "At least our parents aren't like that Vergil guy. What kind of dad cuts off his own son's arm for power?"
"Still, kinda sad that Nero lost his family the same day he just found them." Harriet says with a small frown. "We're lucky to still have ours."
"Got that right." Viola says with a nod.
Harriet and Viola walk in silence. After a few moments, Viola breaks the silence.
"So, Harri?" Viola asks.
"Hm?" Harriet hums.
Viola scratches her cheek with her finger. "I know I've asked this a lot but... Well, it's been seven years since we adopted you. You're happy, right?"
Harriet stops walking, prompting Viola to stop.
"When I was four, my aunt and uncle made me cook for them." Harriet says calmly without facing Viola. "I was punished for even slightly burning bacon. I had to eat scraps just to get by, forced to sleep in a cupboard under the stairs, made to wear my oafish cousin's hand-me-downs and did chores no one my age should do."
Viola frowns while rubbing the back of her head.
"All of the adults only saw me as a troublemaker and the few good ones who wanted to help were never seen again." Harriet says. "Now, I have people who actually give a damn about me. Even got an awesome big sister." Harriet turns to Viola and smiles. "So yes, I'm happy."
Viola smiles before putting her arm around Harriet's neck.
"Good." Viola says. She then puffs up her chest. "And you're right. I am pretty awesome."
Harriet playfully rolls her eyes. "Even though you can be a bit of a goofball."
Viola let's Harriet go as she stares at her little sister in shock.
"Huh?" Viola asks. "How am I a goofball?"
"Want me to get the list?" Harriet asks with a cheeky smirk.
"Very funny." Viola says dryly.
Harriet giggles before she and Viola start walking again. After a few steps, Harriet suddenly feels a magical pulse throughout her body. She then puts her hand to her head with a grimace. Harriet's strange actions do not escape Viola's notice.
"Harri?" Viola asks in concern. "You okay?"
Harriet grits her teeth as the pulse intensifies.
"Damn it." Harriet mutters. "Not now."
Unknown to Harriet or Viola, a distortion appears as the dark-haired girl begins to emit a blue glow. Harriet's feet suddenly become engulfed in blue flames that seem to spread to the rest of her body.
Just before the flames can envelop her completely, Viola shakes Harriet. Snaping her back to reality. "Harri!"
Harriet takes a few deep breaths as the pulse disappears along with her headache.
"Just a bit of a headache." Harriet says with a grimacing smile. "It's gone now."
Viola raises an eyebrow. "You sure you're okay?"
"Peachy." Harriet says with a shake of her head.
Harriet reaches into her pocket and pulls out two lollypops. She then hands one to Viola. The two sisters unwrap their candy, throw the wrappers away and pop the candy in their mouths. The two then resume walking.
Unknown to Harriet and Viola, a mysterious hooded figure is watching them from the top of a building. The figures gaze seems to be fixed on Harriet. After a few seconds, the figure snaps their fingers before walking away.
Nearby, a man is unloading a few boxes from a truck. As he puts the boxes down, a large crash is heard, startling the man. He looks to see that his truck has mysteriously caved in from the top. As the man questions the sudden damage to his truck, said vehicle is suddenly tossed forward, much to the man's shock. Upon seeing the tumbling vehicle, the pedestrians scramble to move out of the way. The truck continues to tumble forward. Right into the path Harriet and Viola are on! The dark-haired girl notices the incoming vehicle before pushing Viola away. Things seem to slow down as Harriet leans back. The truck goes sailing over her and crashes into a nearby store. Luckily, no one was hurt.
"The hell?!" Viola exclaims in shock. Spitting out her lollypop.
Harriet stands upright as she looks down the street with narrowed eyes. The dark-haired teen sees blurred figures coming down the street. Causing some property damage along the way and scaring the people nearby.
Harriet continues to stare at the incoming threat as Viola joins her.
"You're seeing this, right?" Harriet asks rhetorically.
"Damn it." Viola mutters with narrowed eyes. "Couldn't they have shown up later? We were just about to get some grub."
Harriet puts her hands on her hips with a sigh. "Looks like we'll have to take a raincheck."
Suddenly, a large commotion is heard on the opposite side of the street. A large tour bus is seen speeding out of control. More blurred figures are seen flying behind it.
"I'll leave you to clean up here." Harriet says with a grin.
"Wait, what?" Viola asks incredulously.
As the out-of-control vehicle speeds towards Harriet, said teen winks at her sister before jumping into the air. Viola quickly rolls to the side to avoid the bus. She then looks back to see her sister waving at her from on top of the bus as it drives away.
"Show off." Viola says.
With Harriet, the tour bus continues it's wild ride. However, the dark haired girl is unfazed by all the destruction taking place. Her gaze focused solely on the blurred figures. She then gives a confident smile while adjusting her glasses.
"You lot sure like to show up when you're not wanted." Harriet says. "Now my poor sister is gonna go hungry."
The blurred figures ignore Harriet's comment in favor of charging forward. The dark-haired teen tosses the stick of her lollypop, having already finished it. She then kisses her fingers, draws a magic circle in front of her before spiraling into it. Suddenly, the blurred figures are revealed to be Acceptance angels. The angels lunge their lances at Harriet, but the teen manages to avoid them. However, the angels cut Harriet's outfit in several spots with the teen giving a small moan at each cut. Harriet's outfit falls apart, leaving her naked as the day she was born. She remains undeterred as she double kicks one of the angles away, launching herself in the air as a result. The dark-haired teens body emits a purple glow as black hair forms around her, creating a new outfit.
[Play Trust Love by Casey Williams]
Harriet's hair forms into an outfit consisting of a black backless bodysuit with gold medallions on the legs resembling crescent moons. On top of the suit, she wears a bodice with long ends similar to a tailcoat. Her sleeves have frilly ends and the sides are uncovered, with tiny braid patterns forming images of roses, exposing her skin underneath. At her hips are long hair tassels tied in knots.
Harriet's also wears long white gloves with intersecting straps and red palms, black heels with silver figurines somewhat resembling bat wings along the back and her gold Umbra Watch that hangs from a chain above her chest from the collar. A pair of handguns are also attached to her heels.
Harriet lands on an Acceptance before whipping out two more handguns. She then leans back with a pose as the Acceptance rears back like a horse. Harriet looks at the backside of the Acceptance before whipping it with her gun. She continues to whip the angel as it is forced to ram into it's fellow comrades like a bucking bronco. The whole time Harriet enjoys the ride, her butt bouncing on the angels rear.
Harriet starts shooting at the angels around her. She then leans back while shooting the angels behind her before hanging under the Acceptance to shoot the ones in front. The angel, seeing it's enemy under it, goes to stab her with it's lance. Harriet quickly let's go off the Acceptance and slides under it. Using the tail end of the angel, Harriet flings herself around before spinning like a ballerina while shooting the incoming angels.
A few Acceptances surround the teen before lunging their lances at her. Harriet quickly avoids the angels attack by jumping into the air. She then grabs an angel flying over her with her legs. The young witch somersaults with the angel before crashing down on the bus. Blowing a few angels away. Harriet then whips the downed angel forward with her legs while getting back up with a handstand. A angel lunges at her but the teen sidesteps to the right before bringing her left leg down on it. She then kicks the angel forward, causing it to slide off the bus and crashes into a fellow angel.
Harriet appears to be having the time of her life as she looks at the remaining angels. She then takes a stance.
"Let's skip the hors-d'oeuvres." Harriet says confidently. "Time for the main course."
[End OST]
Back with Viola, the elder witch had her hands full with a group of angels. She slashes one in half, killing it. Viola pants for a moment before looking around her. Seeing that she got the last angel in the vicinity, the punk rocker witch sighs before sheathing her sword.
"That's the last one." Viola says. She then looks down the street her sister took off on. "You are so gonna get it when we get home."
Viola is taken out of her musings by the sound of a car horn. She looks to see white, blue and yellow truck coming towards her.
"Oh SHIT!" Viola screams.
The truck makes a sharp turn while breaking. It stops just inches away from Viola. Seeing the truck stop, the multi-colored blonde stumbles backwards before landing on her butt.
In the driver's seat is a tall, well-built black man, wearing sunglasses numerous ear piercings a gold necklace that has what appears to be a corded hoop, a blue sweater adorned with intricate patterns along the body and sleeves in a striped configuration and a hat made of similar material and adornment.
"Quite the party you got going on, kid." The man says.
"Rodin?" Viola asks. She then fumes as she stands up. "What the hell? You trying to give me a heart attack?"
"Hop in." Rodin says, ignoring Viola's question. "Gotta catch up to that sister of yours."
Viola get's in Rodin's truck and the two speed off to catch up to Harriet. Unknown to the two that a big shaggy-haired black dog was watching them intensely.
Meanwhile, Harriet was busy dispatching angels. She shoots at a few angels before noticing that she was out of bullets. Harriet huffs before tossing the guns away. She then runs at an Acceptance and launches a flying kick at it. The dark haired witch continues kicking the angel, each kick enhanced by a bullet round, before launching herself backwards. The gun on her right heel suddenly falls off. Harriet frowns as she looks at her heels.
"Mummy was right." Harriet says with a sigh. "Cheap toys."
Harriet flings the gun on her left heel at an Acceptance, dazing it. The dark-haired witch then takes the opportunity to launch a flying kick at the angel, causing it to go flying off the bus. Using superhuman strength, Harriet grabs two nearby angels and spins them around before launching them at their fellow comrades.
As Harriet prepares to take on the rest of the angels, she hears a car horn. The dark-haired witch looks back to see Rodin's truck speeding towards her. Rodin drives on the busses right side.
"Kept you waiting, huh?" Rodin asks.
"I hope this means you have my order ready." Harriet says with a small grin.
Rodin looks to Viola, who was currently eating some pizza.
"You got money to pay for that?" Rodin asks.
"Give me a break." Viola groans. "These guys decided to show up right before lunch."
"...Just hand me the box under your seat." Rodin says after a pause.
Viola compiles with Rodin's request and reaches under her seat. She pulls out a pizza box and hands it to Rodin.
"Order up!" Rodin says while flinging the pizza box out the window.
The box opens to reveal a set of four guns based on the Smith & Wesson Model 500 revolver with magical gems in the barrels. They have a pink-red color with a yellow grip. The collective name of the guns are engraved along with a pair of bat wings. Like all of Rodin's products, his signature stamp can be seen near the gems. Attached to the handles via a large ring are feathers from a Snowy Owl.
"Fresh out of the oven." Rodin says. "The Bohemian Rhapsody."
Harriet draws multiple magic circles, jumps towards her new guns and equips them with a dramatic flair. She then looks down upon the angels as her body begins to glow. Suddenly, a large gorgeous young woman with pink eyebrows, pink eyelashes, white skin, pointed ears and green eyes appears behind Harriet.
The demonic woman has long pink hair that reaches down to her legs with two giant horns curling backward and up on both sides of her head. She has a pair of small black wings sprouting from the center of her shoulders and a knee-length black tail with a heart/spade-shaped tip. She wears an ornate purple and black striped collared shirt with a high bottom that exposes the undersides of her breasts and an ornate, elaborate cape that reaches down to her butt, sporting eight points with beads in each area while also having fur at the collar.
The woman also has matching pattern fingerless gloves and a side-split micro skirt, on top of which is a black belt having a large, ornately engraved buckle. For her feet, she wears black heels with a spike on the toe boxes. There is a pair of silver, skull-shaped studs resembling buttons on the front side of the boots and there are black leg bands on her upper thighs.
This is Harriet's Infernal partner, Lady Asmo, Princess of Depravity.
Lady Asmo places her arms around Harriet and seems to fuse with her contractor. Harriet assumes the form of a blue-skinned demon with slitted green eyes. Her body is covered in armor like scales, forming a two-piece bikini that barely covers her modesty. She has bat-like wings on her back, curved horns on the sides of her head, tentacle-like hair curled in ringlets, armored feet and a spaded tail. Her Umbra Watch still rest around her neck.
This is the form Harriet assumes when infused with Lady Asmo's power. Her Demon Masquerade.
Harriet dive bombs down as a few Acceptances fly towards her. The transformed witch spins in a corkscrew motion before barreling through the angels. She then flips forward before landing on an angel, feet first. The force of the impact causes the angel to explode. Once back on the bus, Harriet changes back to normal.
"Beautiful." Rodin says. "Just like her ma."
Rodin suddenly looks behind him to see a few angelic portals appear from out of the portals comes a few Kinships. The angels launch a few missiles at Rodin's truck, causing the Infinite One to veer away into another street.
"Crashing the party, I see." Harriet says in amusement. "That's fine." Harriet puts her hand to the right side of her face. In a flash, the right side of the young witch's face briefly gains her masquerade form. "I've saved room for dessert."
[Play Last Surprise (Scramble Version) by Lyn Inaizumi]
Harriet takes her stance before shooting at the incoming angels. She then delivers a one-two punch combo at an Acceptance, with pink energy flowing form her strikes. The young witch briefly changes into her masquerade form to deliver an uppercut. As her enemy flies into the air, Harriet delivers a few kicks to the Acceptance before sending it crashing down with a dive kick, enhanced by a kick from Lady Asmo's right leg.
Harriet assumes her masquerade form for a moment to summon Lady Asmo's leg for a reverse tornado kick. The leg sweeps the surrounding Acceptances off the bus. One of the angels lunges it's lances at Harriet. Just before the lance can make contact, the young witch backflips. The area around Harriet gains a blue glow as time seems to slow down. Harriet had activated one of the Umbra Witches famous techniques, Witch Time.
"Nice try." Harriet says with a grin. She then assumes her masquerade form. "Let's dance!"
Taking advantage of her foes state, Harriet quickly delivers a barrage of masquerade enhanced punches at a few Acceptances.
"Buh-bye!" Harriet says while delivering one final punch.
Time resumes as Harriet returns to normal.
And so, the dance continued. Harriet was quickly getting use to her new guns while making use of her Demon Masquerade abilities. The Kinships had taken shots at the young witch but was able to dodge them while dealing with the angels on the bus. Very soon, the Acceptance angels were gone. Leaving Harriet the Kinships to deal with. Luckily, there were only four of them.
A Kinship fires missiles at the young witch. Instead of dodging, Harriet runs towards the closes missile and jumps on top of it. She then uses the other missiles as steppingstones to get close to the angelic ship. As she lands on the ship, Harriet turns and aims on of her guns at the Kinship on the left. The young witch charges her gun. It gives a hum before firing a pink laser at the Kinship. The laser punches through the ship and destroys it. Harriet then does the same to the other two ships. As for the one she was standing on, the young witch winks at it before jumping back to the bus. In midair, Harriet aims her gun at the last Kinship before blowing it up with a laser before landing on the bus, knees first.
[End OST]
Harriet stands up right as the bus travels on to the highway. Before she can say anything, the ground begins to rumble. The ground upheaves, making Harriet jump off the bus and land on the ground. Said vehicle crashes behind the young witch before exploding.
Harriet looks to see an angelic magic circle appear on her right, while a Infernal seal appears on her left. A Gravitas and a Pride appears from their respective circles.
"You boys wanna have a turn?" Harriet asks.
The angel and Infernal take a few steps towards Harriet, then suddenly stop. A red aura then flares out of the two behemoths. Much to Harriet's confusion. Things get weirder as a magic circle featuring half of Paradiso and half of Inferno appears above the two monsters. The Gravitas and Pride seem to turn into red particles before pooling into the circle. What comes out of it shocks Harriet to her core.
The monster that appears looks to be a fusion of the Gravitas and Pride! It has the Pride's legs, the Gravitas' upper body with the Pride's eyes on it's torso and the right arm encased in ice while the left is engulfed in flames. The shield of the Pride made the monsters face while the Gravitas' halo became inverted with a red glow.
This beast is Nephilim Abaddon, the Destroyer.
"What?" Harriet asks while gasping in shock.
Above Harriet on the overpass, Rodin and Viola see the creature as well.
"What the hell is that?" Viola asks in shock.
Rodin seems to tense up. "Something that shouldn't be possible."
Harriet stares at the fused creature. Abaddon launches it's arms at the young witch. Harriet manages to shake off her shock to barely dodge to the side. Undeterred, Abaddon flings it's arms over to Harriet. The young witch looks on as the appendages come closer. Just before the arms can reach her, Abaddon is forced back by two fists. Seeing them, Harriet looks behind her to see Bayonetta and another woman in a punching motion.
The woman is a tall, slender, youthful looking woman with porcelain skin and platinum colored hair done in a semi-long with a wavy half-up-half-down style that is held together by a brooch on the top of her head. She sports a 60s-inspired red and pink high-neck mod shift dress with horizontal zigzag patterns of different shades of pink, red and gold and pink tights with floral designs to match. The dress seems to have a neck piece with a lily flower. Her ensemble is accentuated by her white dotted fur jacket worn as a cape, pink bracelets, short red gloves, and new red shoes resembling lace-up pumps. She also wears red, round glasses.
This woman is Jeanne, The Platinum Witch and Harriet's aunt.
"Mummy!" Harriet says. "Auntie!"
"You aren't losing your nerve, are you my little Bambi?" Bayonetta asks as she and Jeanne join Harriet.
Harriet looks down, feeling like she disappointed her mother. That thought disappears as Bayonetta pats her shoulder.
"Don't make that face." Bayonetta says gently. "You've done a good job."
Harriet brightens up at her mother's praise. She then nods.
"What in Inferno IS that monstrosity?" Jeanne asks.
"Looks like our friends are becoming close with their neighbors." Bayonetta says.
Abaddon stares at the new arrivals before clashing it's arms together. Fire and ice erupt from behind the monster as Harriet, Bayonetta and Jeanne prepare to fight.
[Play Lord of Destruction by Go Shina]
"An Angel and an Infernal merged together?" Bayonetta asks bewilderedly.
"An unholy union, I'll say." Jeanne says.
"Either way, we can't afford to mess around here." Harriet says. "Let's take it down."
Bayonetta wasted no time striking first. Unloading a barrage of Masquerade punches. Abaddon doesn't stand idly by as it swings it's flaming arm at the Umbra Witch. Bayonetta dodges just in time for Jeanne to pick up where her friend left off. The Platinum Witch shoots at the Nephilim before jumping to avoid the creatures frozen fist. Harriet jumps up to meet her aunt and the two unleash a barrage of demonic kicks at Abaddon. The creature stumbles at the force of the witches attacks. The Nephilim drifts to the left to avoid the last few kicks.
Abaddon jumps into the air and flings it's fists at the three witches. Bayonetta and Jeanne jumps to the side while Harriet jumps into the air. The young witch fires a laser at the creature but is forced to block it's frozen fist. Said attack sends Harriet falling to the ground. Bayonetta and Jeanne look at Harriet with concern, but Abaddon uses that moment to quickly bulldoze through the older witches. The Nephilim then raises it's fists in the air before slamming them on the ground. A wave of ice spikes, along with a wave of fire shoot up from the ground and towards the witches. Bayonetta, Jeanne and Harriet quickly assume their Masquerade forms to fly away from the attack. Once they are safe, the witches return to normal.
"Perhaps it's time to bring out the big guns." Jeanne says.
Bayonetta nods before looking towards Harriet. "Jeanne and I will attack it head on. When you see an opening, hit it with everything you've got."
Harriet nods. She then jumps back.
A red glyph appears on Bayonetta and Jeanne back. The two then make a few gestures.
"CIAOFI BALZARG!" Bayonetta and Jeanne exclaim.
The two witches summon an Infernal. From Bayonetta, Madama Butterfly, Mistress of Atrocity appears. From Jeanne, Madama Styx, Decider of Ends is summoned. The two Infernal's fist bump before wailing on Abaddon. The Nephilim is unable to counter the two titans onslaught. By the time the two Infernal's were finished, the Abaddon was missing it's armor in certain areas.
Seeing an opportunity, Harriet uses another of the Umbra Witches famed techniques. A Torture Attack. Harriet summons three small missiles to strike the stunned Nephilim before jumping onto a larger missile and flying right at Abaddon.

Seeing the Nephilim on it's last legs, Harriet decides to end this battle. A red glyph appears on her back as she summons an Infernal.
"AMMA BLIORA!" Harriet exclaims.
Harriet's twin-tails come undone while her outfit is reduced to a unitard. From out of the portal comes Lady Asmo in all her glory. The demoness summons a black bow before taking aim at Abaddon. Wind begins to gather as a pink ball of energy forms at the tip of the bow. Harriet signals her partner to attack...

Harriet suddenly gasps as she feels a familiar and unwelcomed magical pulse throughout her body.
"N-no!" Harriet says while holding her head with a grimace as her suit reforms.
The tug on Harriet's magic causes the young witch to lose her concentration. Cancelling Lady Asmo's attack and sending the demoness back to Inferno. The young witch then collapses on her knees in pain.
Bayonetta and Jeanne cancel their summons as the look at Harriet in alarm.
"Harriet!" Bayonetta exclaims, foregoing her child's nickname.
Unfortunately for the Umbra Witches, Abaddon tries to make one final attempt to end their lives. However...

A yell is suddenly heard from above. Abaddon looks up to see Viola jumping towards it. She then unsheathes Mab Dachi and throws it at the Nephilim. The sword lodges into the creature and from the cat charm springs Viola's Infernal partner, Cheshire, The Lost Outcast.
Cheshire lands on Abaddon before swiping it with it's flaming claws. The Infernal then jumps on the Nephilim multiple times, crushing it.
Viola lands next to her mother as Cheshire returns to his charm. The multi-colored blonde then summons her sword back and sheaths it.

"Perfect timing." Jeanne says.
Viola nods at Jeanne before the two rush to Harriet, who was breathing heavily. Bayonetta had already reached her adoptive daughter and is currently holding her.
"Harriet?" Bayonetta asks with concern.
Viola reaches for Harriet's shoulder but is forced to back off as a small blue flame almost burns her.
"Ouch!" Viola says while waving her hand. "The hell was that?"
Jeanne narrows her eyes at Harriet condition. "From what I can tell, it looks like something has a hold on her magic. Judging by her current condition, it's been there for a while."
Bayonetta frowns at Harriet. "Why didn't you say something?"
"S-sorry." Harriet says with a grimace. "I didn't want to worry anyone."
Bayonetta flicks Harriet's nose, causing the young witch to let out a yelp. The elder witch then helps Harriet stand up.
The four Umbra Witches look towards Abaddon's defeated form. The Nephilim weakly raises it's head.
"So, this is the power of The Girl Who Lived." Abaddon says. "I'm not impressed."
"The Girl Who Lived?" Harriet asks in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
"And more importantly, what are you?" Bayonetta asks.
Abaddon weakly chuckles. "I am referring to the title your birthplace has given you. As for what I am, I am a Nephilim. A being given the power of two of the trinities."
Jeanne scoffs. "You're referring to a fallen angel. There's no such thing."
"And yet I exist." Abaddon says.
"You said you were given the power of the two trinities." Viola says. "Who gave it to you?"
Abaddon seems to focus on Harriet. "I was merely the messenger. If you truly want to know, then you must return to your birthplace."
"My birthplace?" Harriet asks.
Before Harriet can ask anymore questions, the gates of Inferno open under Abaddon. The fused being is then slowly pulled down.
"Rejoice." Abaddon says. "For the Exiled One has returned. The Day of Reckoning... has begun."
Abaddon is pulled into the gate. The Umbra Witches are silent as the mull over Abaddon's last words. All is quiet until...
"Well, that was fucking ominous." Viola says.
The Gates of Hell. Rodin's bar that doubles as a demonic weapons market. It is here that Rodin sells his services for those willing to pay for weapons, including those of demonic origin from Inferno itself if given the right price. And the drinks aren't bad either.
It is here that Rodin and the Umbra Witches regrouped after their encounter with Abaddon. As he always has, Cheshire can be seen relaxing in his favorite spot near the bar while the others sat down and converse.
"So, how long has this tug on your magic been going on?" Bayonetta asks.
"A few days." Harriet says. "At first, it started out like a small tug. But as time went on, it felt like something was trying to pull me apart. Bloody painful too."
"It's probably because you've been fighting the pull." Jeanne says.
"Only old magic could bring about these kinds of results." Rodin says.
"What about that thing?" Viola asks. "The... Nephilim, right?"
"The current term they go by these days is fallen angels." Rodin says. "They're supposed to be the union between an angel and a demon. A taboo of Paradiso and Inferno."
"I thought those were just a myth." Bayonetta says.
"No angel or infernal would dare to create one." Rodin says. "Although, that thing back there wasn't a true Nephilim. It was forced to fuse together."
"Can't imagine they enjoyed that." Bayonetta says.
"And what was that stuff about the Girl Who Lived or the Exiled One?" Viola asks.
Harriet looks down in thought. "It said that if I want answers, I have to go back to where I was born. But I have no idea where that is. My birth parents died when I was a baby."
"I think I know who can shed some light on all of this." Rodin says.
Rodin reaches under the bar and puts a cage with a black, shaggy dog on the table. Much to the witches confusion. Strangely, Cheshire wasn't fazed by the canine.
"Picking up strays, Rodin?" Bayonetta asks with her hands on her hips.
Jeanne narrows her eyes at the dog. "That's no ordinary dog."
"Found him snooping around." Rodin says. "Watching you guys fight. He's got too much magic in him to be a normal dog."
Harriet get's out of her seat and walks to the bar table. The young witch examines the dog and the canine stares right back at her.
"I... I feel like I know this dog." Harriet says. "Like I've seen him somewhere before."
In a flash of memories, Harriet sees herself as a baby being carried by a red-haired, green-eyed woman. Next to the woman was a man with black hair and hazel-colored eyes. The man gives baby Harriet a stuffed deer plushie that she enjoys. Suddenly, a man with brown hair and green eyes appears with another man. This one had shaggy black hair and grey eyes. In another memory, the man with grey eyes changes into a dog. He then licks baby Harriet's face. As quick as they came, Harriet snaps out of her trip down memory lane.
"...Padfoot?" Harriet asks after a pause.
The dog, Padfoot, brightens up with a bark.
Harriet glances at Rodin. "Let him out."
Rodin places the cage on the ground and opens it. Padfoot immediately comes out of the cage. Much to everyone's surprise, Padfoot turns into a human!
The man had shaggy black hair, grey eyes and wore a brown jacket on top of a black vest and grey shirt, black pants and brown shoes.
The man stretches before looking around. His eyes soon rest on Harriet as he gives the teen a small smile.
"I had hoped you'd remember me, Prongslet." The man says.
Harriet frowns questionably. "Who are you?"
"You remember me as Padfoot." The man says. "My real name is Sirius Black. ...I'm your godfather."
Now, as you can see, there are some changes from the Bayonetta 3 story. Mainly that Cereza, Jeanne and Luka are still alive. In this version, Cheshire saved Viola from being pulled into that black hole. Allowing Luka to save Cereza from Gomorrah. I'm also working under the premise that everyone who died during the Singularity Incident was brought back. During the showdown, it looked like Thule was destroyed. So, without the multiverse portals, Viola's stuck with her other world family. Viola still defeats Dark Eve to prove that she's a successor to the Bayonetta name.
