Every long lost dream led me to where you are. Others who broke my heart, they were like Northern stars, pointing me on my way into your loving arms. This much I know is true, that God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you.

One week later

Olivia stood near the back of the dimly lit ballroom with a dazzling smile on her face as she took her time scoping out the party she and her husband were hosting due to his promotion at work a week ago, which had been the reason he missed celebrating their anniversary. She was dressed in an elegant, backless black dress with over a thousand dollars in jewelry adorning her ears, neck, right wrist and ring finger, and by a long shot, she was the best dressed in the room. The ambiance's celebratory and cheerful, and going without a hitch. The music's lively, the drinks are flowing and everyone, including herself, is having a grand time but even with all the buzzing excitement, Olivia still found herself wanting a moment to be alone. Sometimes, the parties she'd host could get a little bit overwhelming with all of the pretending she have to do. The fake smiles, the gushing at her husband like they were the most perfect couple in the world, and the sly comments she had to endure from some of the inebriated guest but, in the end, she usually ended up having a good time and would receive praise for weeks to come for hosting such a fabulous event.

After taking a small sip of her liquid heaven she exhaled deeply, finally feeling some calm, as the liquid settled in her stomach. Knowing that she probably only had to endure two more hours before she could return to her living quarters gave her a little more patience.

Suddenly, there was a light double-tap on her shoulder making her want to shout "go away!" Her little bubble had just been popped and it was back to business being the doting, proud wife. She realized her alone moments never lasted long enough as she turned in her six-inch heels to greet whomever.

"Hi-" She began to say, expecting to be greeted by yet another one of her husband's colleagues or their family members, but to her surprise she was not. This was someone she had not had the pleasure of meeting before. A very handsome man. A girl could get lost in his dreamy ocean blue eyes and his smile was breathtaking. His hair was styled to perfection and seeing how good he looked in a tux had Olivia wanting to see him out of it.

"So, what's a beautiful woman like you doing back here all alone?" He questioned before taking a slow sip of his whiskey.

Olivia stared at his mouth. Noticing how he slowly slid the tip of his tongue across his upper lip to collect any residue that was left behind and it made her wonder if he always took his time and did everything slow and with precision? He didn't have much lips, but damn that was hot. And that voice? My goodness. Panty dropper.

"I- I just..Just needed a minute alone. Do you know many of the people here?" She quickly recovered once realizing that she had been staring for far too long without answering his question.

She wasn't sure why that was first thing that came to mind to ask him. Perhaps it was because she knew she'd never seen this gorgeous man before tonight. She wanted to know how he had gotten an invite to her home. Who did they both know and why the hell hadn't that person introduced her to him sooner.

She tipped back her own glass of red wine and glanced over her rim at him, anticipating his response. As interested in him as she was, she hoped to God that he was not there alone.

"You see her over with the tight blue dress on? I'm here with her...as a friend." He described candidly.

Olivia had to stop herself from giggling at the description he gave. The last thing she wanted to do was make fun of one of her guest. However, the dress was an extremely tight fit, so she understood why he described it that way. She looked stuffed in it.

"Oh, you're here with Kim?"

"You know Kimmy?" His eyebrows knitted. He was slightly surprised by the fact that she knew his date was by name. They didn't seem like they would hang in the same crowd. Kimmy's lifestyle was sometimes questionable. This woman, she seemed put together.

"Oh yes, she and I are... Uh, we go way back," she said, keeping her explanation simple.

"I'm Fitz by the way," he said, extending his hand to her finally.

"Nice to meet you, Fitz. I'm Olivia."

The pair shook hands while gauging smiles. There was something there. A spark? Chemistry? Immediate wanting, attraction? It was something neither of them could put into words.

"I hope you're okay with me interrupting your alone time. I couldn't stand back and just watch you any longer. I felt like a creep for staring."

Olivia giggled and blushed at his words. So, he had been watching her for some time. "Well, I don't mind at all. I'm glad you finally decided to approach me."

"So, Olivia," Fitz began, loving the way her name sounded rolling off of his tongue. "Who else do you know that is in attendance?"

He honestly wasn't the least bit of interested in knowing who else she might've knew, but he did want to keep the conversation going for as long as he possibly could. He found himself extremely intrigued and attracted to this stunning woman, wanting to know every little detail about her. Most importantly, if she had a date..if she was dating? When he mentioned that he had been watching her, he had been waiting for some guy to go to her and prove that she wasn't available, but when no one ever did, he stepped to her. Clearly he hadn't paid any attention to the exquisite wedding band wrapped her petite, manicured ring finger when the two shook hands.

"Everyone actually," An older gentleman said before Olivia had the chance to.

"I'm her husband, Jacob Ballard," he said and wrapped his arm around her possessively.

Now having his answer, Fitz took a respectful step back with a forced smile on his face. She was not there alone.

Fitz noticed Olivia's slight grimace as the green-eyed man placed his arm around her and he felt himself wanting to dislocate the man's arm for making her uncomfortable. Knowing that it would be best to stay in his lane, Fitz politely shook his hand as he reintroduced himself to him but it didn't take long before he flicked his eyes back onto Olivia. He had immediately picked up on how her demeanor had changed in a matter of seconds. She was far less smiley and almost timid now that her husband was present. He couldn't help but wonder what was going on between them behind closed doors.

"Pleasure to meet you, Jacob. So, this party is for you? I must say, I've had a fantastic time here thus far. Fantastic music."

"All the credit goes to my Olivia. She's great at what she does."

"Thank you, honey. But truly, you should take some credit too. Your credit card did all of this, all I did was make the calls." Olivia smiled while both men chuckle.

It all made sense to Fitz now; the reason she was standing alone, why she was the most stunning in the room. He knew his chances with this woman were probably slim to none. He couldn't possibly compete with Jacob's money or the life he provided Olivia with. She would be foolish to throw it all away for a night or two with him. Which was all he really wanted from her.

"It's 'Fitz', right? You'll have to excuse us now, my wife and I have a speech to make," Jacob said before walking away and guiding Olivia along with him.

It was distinctly evident in the way Jacob had looked at Olivia and tugged her along that he was upset with her about something, but Fitz brushed it aside knowing it was better not to meddle in their marriage. He was there to have a good time, not to be anyone's savior. After tossing back the remaining of his whiskey, he went to the open bar and asked for another before he found himself in search of Kimmy.

"Jake, don't ever put your hands on me in that way again." Olivia yanked her arm out of his grasp and spoke through gritted teeth. "I am not joking. I will make a scene and embarrass the hell out of you."

"Haven't I told you about lingering around the male guest, Liv? You are to greet them then move the fuck on. You make me treat you the way that I do."

Olivia rolled her eyes. Had his frail ego really been bruised by an innocent conversation? "I am not one of your employees. I can talk to whomever I damn well please, Jake."

"Olivia.." Jacob chuckled annoyedly. "Keep testing me and I will have you and the children out on your asses." He lightly kissed her cheek. "And I don't think you want that for little Addie and Zion, do you?"

Olivia sighed as she watched him walk away. She knew he would never do it, he had his reputation to protect but the way he always threatened her and her children made her think that someday he would actually go through with it. She hated him and she definitely hated when he would put his disgusting lips on her. There was no telling where his lips had previously been.

"Come on, Olivia," Jacob said, extending his hand to her. Reluctantly Olivia placed her hand in his then forced a smile on her face.

Jacob and Olivia graced the front of the room gathering everyone's attention so that he could give his speech. He, of course thanked all of his guest for coming, his company for seeing him fit to handle the job, and lastly, he thanked Olivia for always being there to support him through the ups and downs, for being the best thing that ever happened to him and for always throwing such amazing parties. After the round-of-applause from the guests, the music and the chatter around the room resumed as the couple slipped off into a corner.

"You said some pretty nice things up there, Jake."

Jacob chuckled. "Yes well, don't get used to it, babe."

"Wow. You son of a-"

"Watch it now, Olivia." Jacob warned with a grin before walking away and leaving Olivia stunned.

How did I end up in such a loveless marriage, she thought as her eyes watered. It wasn't long before she disappeared. Luckily it was done undetected, but that didn't matter to her. She needed a minute.

Once Fitz found his date, the amount of alcohol he had consumed had him loosened up and the two of them had a damn good time on the dance floor with the other party goers. The vibe and energy in the room was electric and Fitz was glad that he'd allowed Kimmy to drag him out of the house for once. He'd been so busy with other important things in his life and she knew he needed a night to unwind. Kimmy was happy to see him so carefree. He was hardly ever the type to "cut loose".

Every so often he'd find himself looking around for Olivia though. He desperately wanted to see her again, but after their initial encounter it was like she had disappeared from the party. After a while he figured it was probably for the best that he didn't see her again. With so much alcohol in his system there's no telling what he'd say to her, because everyone knows, a drunk man tells no tales. And the moment he'd laid eyes on her, his thoughts became impure.

"Come with me, Fitz." Kim smiled seductively. She looped her arm with his and began walking them away from the dance floor.

"Where are we going, Kimmy?"

"Shh. Just follow me. I know where I'm going."

It wasn't long after Kim dragged Fitz from the dance floor that they were on a completely different level of the house than the rest of everyone and total silence surrounded them. One minute she was talking about how happy she was that he had joined her and the next minute her lips were pressed against his. Fitz doesn't even remember removing his clothes but somehow his pants and boxers were now in a pool around his ankles and his dick pressed into Kim.

"Oh, fuck." Kim hissed.

"Yeah... Fuck yeah, Kimmy!"

Kim was holding onto the doorpost as he continued to guide his thick and long tool in and out her from behind. He wanted her to feel everything he had to offer. His mind was on one person in particular and it was the woman whose house they were still in: Olivia's. Fitz wanted this to be Olivia, so Kim received no mercy as he plunged deep in her with Olivia on his mind. It was miracle that he hadn't accidentally moaned her name, too.

"Fitz!" She wailed loudly. Her eyes shut tightly. She couldn't handle the pleasure her body was receiving from him. She wasn't used to sex being this good.

"I..I'm close, Fitz!"

Fitz loved to watch his partner come undone. Their pleasure contorted face always shifted something within him. When Kim announced that she was close, Fitz slowly peeled his eyes open to watch her explode. Once his eyes were fully opened and his visual was clear, he damn near screamed seeing another figure at the end of the hall...intensely watching him. Somehow he managed to keep his composure and his strokes never faltered. It only took him a few seconds to recognize who the other person was and once he did, he smirked at their stunned expression.

"Cum for me, Kimmy." Fitz demanded as he kept his eyes on the woman. He slapped Kim's ass making her cum hard on him with a piercing cry.

Quickly, Fitz removed himself from Kim and nutted on her ass with a loud grunt. When he glanced back into the hall, the woman was no longer in sight which caused a chuckle to rise out of him.

"Wow. Fuck."

Thinking that he was laughing from a great time with her, Kim began to giggle, too.

"That was great, Fitz."

Kim smiled sweetly. She was now looking at him in a way that she hadn't before. Fitz could sense that things were going to change between them and he wasn't sure if he wanted that. He had just been caught up in the moment, thinking of Olivia. Kim was his friend. He had never wanted to mix friendship and pleasure with her.

"Yeah. It was." He smiled back not having the heart to tell her how he truly felt.

As Fitz and Kim got themselves cleaned up, Fitz thought, hopefully I'll have a chance with Olivia.

He had a feeling that she might've enjoyed him and Kimmy's little show. Or so he hoped...

*

Olivia couldn't believe what she'd just witnessed! Her cousin-in-law just got ripped, in her damn house! And that evil bastard Fitz had the audacity to smirk at her all while he kept fucking...knowing that she'd caught them!

"Can't believe this." She muttered to herself as she took a warm wet washcloth and annoyedly wiped between her legs. The white cloth was covered with her glistening essence making her shake her head.

Olivia had come upstairs to retouch her makeup when she heard inappropriate noises coming from her husband's study. With his philandering history, she hoped that she wasn't about to catch him in act again. She couldn't afford him to be so careless when they had a house of guest just two floors down, so to ease her worrying mind she went to check things out, and boy was she surprised.

She quietly gasped at the sight of Kim and this Fitz, who she thought were just friends. He had obviously lied to her about their status, not that it mattered to her anyway. Olivia had wanted to turn away but at the same time she wanted to storm down the hall and demand that they find some respect and fast. However, she couldn't move her ass and that's when she and Fitz made eye contact. She felt paralyzed by his intense gaze. Though he was fucking on Kim, it was like...it was like she could feel him too. Her skin was heated, her clit thumped rapidly and a hard shiver jolted through her body opening the floodgate between her legs.

Olivia hadn't been fucked like that in such a long time- hell, honestly, she had never been fucked that way and now she found herself wanting to be. She wanted him to fuck her, to make her scream the way he had Kim. She wanted him period, and she knew that that was wrong. She was a woman spoken for after-all.

But Fitz had turned her on so much, in a way no man had ever before and she couldn't deny that. The way he fucked Kim was beautiful. His white, thick and long cock sliding in and out of her was mesmerizing. Olivia had never been the one to watch pornography, but if it was as any good as watching Fitz fuck, she knew she might have to start indulging a few times. She was almost jealous of Kim. Jealous that she was the one receiving pleasure from him. Olivia couldn't even turn away and she damn sure couldn't stop the wetness that leaked from her center and dampened her black thong.

Damn, it has been too long, she thought to herself. She had stopped all sexual activity with Jacob along time ago when she learned of his cheating scandals. She refused to share her body with him knowing that he was sharing his with so many others. That was a dangerous game she wasn't willing to play.

After cleaning herself up, touching up her makeup and trying to shake off the horniness they had ensued. Olivia regained her composure and returned to the few remaining people that were downstairs with her husband. All the way down on the private elevator, she had hoped that Fitz had convinced Kim that they needed to leave out of embarrassment, but her hopes were shattered when she saw them standing with her husband and engaged in what seemed like a friendly conversation. He was not embarrassed or ashamed at all.

"Well, let the games begin.." She mumbled to herself as she made her way over to threesome.

"Kim! Girl, I haven't seen you all night!"

"Olivia, darling! You look fantastic!" Kim smiled back brightly as the two embraced one another and lightly kissed cheeks.

"As do you! I love this dress on you!" Olivia emphasized.

Fitz couldn't help but chuckle seeing how well of an actor Olivia was. He was truly impressed by the way she could put up a front. With him so focused on Olivia, he didn't even notice Jacob staring daggers at him for ogling his wife so openly. It was the second time he had caught him.

The man had balls. Jake had to give him that.

"Jake was just telling me that you two met my date, Fitz!"

Olivia smiled tightly, nodding her head as she glanced at him. "Mmhm. We did briefly. Hi again Fitz."

"Hi again Olivia." Fitz smirked knowingly.

*

The few guest that had been lingering around had finally left and now all that remained was the cleaning staff, Kim, Fitz, Olivia and Jacob. Fitz could feel the tension between him and Olivia. He wanted to know what was swirling around in that beautiful head of hers and luckily Kim and Jake were too busy engaged in their own conversation rather than paying them any attention.

"So, did you enjoy the show?"

Fitz eyed Olivia. The alcohol he had consumed over the evening was definitely giving him courage to speak freely. Knowing that she had stood there and watched him fuck another woman had only made him want her more in some twisted way. Now he'd made it his mission to get her. Just looking at her made his member harden.

Olivia yawned before chuckling and shifting uncomfortably in her seat. Vivid images of him and Kim came flashing back to mind and she had to downplay any indication that she might've did.

He was dangerous...and the cocky type.

"Are you asking me if I enjoyed catching you have sex in my house? Because quite frankly I didn't, and I don't appreciate you and Kim disrespecting my house. Have you no shame, Fitz?"

"Oh, come on, Olivia. So, why did you stand there and watch? Were you wishing it were you that I was fucking? You're with that old ass white man who I bet doesn't know how to handle a woman like you. Why are you with him anyway, huh?"

Olivia couldn't believe this man's audacity. She had to take a few calming breaths to keep from tearing him a new one. She had not expected him to be able to read her so well.

"You know Jacob and Kim are cousins right? That's why she's here. It's why you're here," she said matter-of-factly. "Because you and I both know that someone of you and her...trashy caliber would not have been invited to an event such as this without help. So, do not question me about my marriage or any decisions that I make. You don't know me and I really don't care to know you. And after tonight, let's keep it that way." She stood up from her seat ready to put some distance between them. This was not her usual way of speaking to people, especially throwing her wealth and status around, she always able to walk away before things escalated, but this man.. He was testing her in ways others had never before. She was angry at herself for allowing him to get to her in the way that he had; angry that the words he'd spoken had some truth to them. There was so many things she was feeling for him at once and she couldn't understand it. Never had a man made her feel so out of sorts before.

"Olivia wait," Fitz said, halting her attempts to flee from him. "I apologize. I have put my foot in my mouth and I am truly sorry for disrespecting you and for disrespecting your home."

Olivia sighed. She knew he was regretful just by the look in his eyes but she was far too upset to care. Hopefully this will make him see the importance of thinking before speaking.

"Have a good night Fitz," she said before continuing to walk away.

She wasn't sure how she was going to forget about him, especially with the image of him and Kim engraved in her brain. Not only that, it was the way he had made her feel when they had initially interacted. Feeling a spark of warmth when they had only touched hands, but regardless, she sure hoped that she would soon forget him.

He was not the man she thought he would be. Handsome and kind. Instead he was someone she did not want to associate herself with, like most of the men in her world.

Assholes that make her life miserable.
