The Bonds That Tie

The next morning came, marking January 1st, 1997. Harry moaned and smacked his lips in his sleep. He slowly cracked open an eye before groggily stretching like a cat. It was then that he felt something behind him. He turned around to see the sleeping form of his Potions Master. Then the events of the previous night hit him like a ton of cinder blocks and he gasped. Never mind the best sleep he'd had in ages but the sex…Oh Merlin the sex had been so good. But then uncertainty crept into his mind. He'd been in a haze of bloodlust last night.

'Oh Merlin, did I force myself on him?!' Harry thought as he shifted, coming face to face with the still sleeping form of Severus. Harry frowned. 'The man was a spy. Certainly he'd be a light sleeper. Don't be stupid, Harry! Make sure he's not dead!' He internally scolded himself. "Professor?" Harry tentatively called, poking the man slightly to see if Snape was still breathing. "Professor Snape?" Another poke. This caused Snape to roll away from the offending digit slightly while smacking the air. "Okay…Not dead. That's a relief." Harry said to himself aloud. "Dobby!" Harry called as he shimmied out of bed. He took one of the blankets to cover himself as he looked around the room. It was filled with tattered clothing alluding to the wild night they had obviously had.

The house elf popped into the room and asked, "How can Dobby be helping?"

"Could you…" Harry thought for a moment "Get me a blood replenishing potion, a full English breakfast, and some tea?"

"Will yous be needing more blood?" Dobby asked.

"No, no…" Harry was shocked by that. For the first time in so long he felt completely sated. "I'm good for now." The house elf popped away and Harry took a seat on a nearby chair and just stared at the sleeping form of his professor. He took a deep breath and thought.

"Okay…Calm down, this might be a good thing," Harry mumbled to himself. "But who am I kidding? Snape will eviscerate me after last night. Merlin! I forced myself on him…Arg!" Harry uttered as his hands flew to his disheveled hair. The noise made Snape crack open an eye and the other man lazily rolled over to see Harry on the verge of tearing his hair out. When Harry noticed Snape staring at him he squeaked in shock. It was a very manly squeak Harry told himself.

"Professor…I am...So…So sorry!" Harry quickly uttered. He ran to the nearby table where the food had popped up and grabbed the potion. He quickly handed it to Snape while uttering "For any anemia…"

"Mr. Potter…Why are you acting like a nervous kneazle?" Severus asked after he uncorked the potion, sniffed it and then drank it in one go.

"Well…Sir…If you're going to kill me, can you make it quick?" Harry asked.

"I'm not going to kill you," Snape sighed as he stepped out of bed. He too looked around at the tattered clothing on the floor and then searched for his wand. "Where did I leave my wand?"

"You looking for your wand right after saying you aren't going to kill me isn't reassuring Professor," Harry muttered.

"It's to repair my clothing you dunderhead," Snape stated and then bent down, giving Harry a full view of his backside to look under the bed, which is where the object ended up. "Fuck!" Snape shouted, which caught Harry off guard. He'd never heard the man cuss…At least not until last night. Severus returned to a standing position, and with wand in hand; he cast a quick Reparo the tattered scraps of clothing mended itself. "I will be needing a pain relief potion as well, Mr. Potter." The older man ground out as he summoned his clothing to him.

"A pain potion?" Harry wondered before it hit him. How could he have been so stupid. It was obviously Severus's first time. "I am so…So sorry Professor!" Harry said before summoning Dobby again and asking for the potion. Both men got dressed in silence after that and Harry nervously offered Snape breakfast.

"Mister Potter, I think I should go." The Potions Master muttered. "Surely you wouldn't want me sticking around your quarters."

"Oh…D-Do you have you have to leave? I…Actually, um…" Harry blushed, nervous as hell for what he was about to ask. And he didn't even know why he wanted to ask.

"I believe we've spent enough time together to last us both." Severus was already near the door, just a bit more he'd pull it open and probably disappear. However, the older man did stop and turn to stare at Harry who was fumbling over his words.

"I was…Um…Wondering if you'd like…" Harry struggled to find how to say this. "If you want to, of course…Um…"

"Mister Potter, whatever you have to say, just spit it out!" Snape was getting somewhat annoyed.

"I was wondering if you'd want to…Repeat…Of last night." Severus's eyes widened, but holding some contempt at the suggestion. "I-I mean what we did last night, b-but under different circumstances!" Harry blurted out. "It was good wasn't it?…You… You liked it right?" Harry blushed and internally smacked his mind. Why the hell did he even ask that? It was like his inner Vampire wanted Snape. Like…Seriously wanted that man. The blood had been one of the most tantalizing things he had ever tasted. His fangs extended slightly as he just thought back on that delectable taste. What the hell was wrong with him?!

"WHAT THE EVERLOVIN' BLOODY FUCK!" Was yelled from the other side of the door. Harry and Severus both looked at the door, glanced to each other, then Snape grabbed the knob and opened it, only to have Draco, Lucius and Bellatrix fall forward. The three clearly had their ears to the door when Harry had blurted all that out. As the three fell into a pile Severus's eyes narrowed and he loomed over them, arms folded.

"What is going on here?!" He asked while crossing his arms. Lucius had the decorum to look embarrassed at being caught. Bellatrix was giving Severus and Harry an eager look as if she wanted to know more, in great detail, while Draco looked not only horrified but also gob smacked. His jaw would certainly have hit the floor if he hadn't fallen face first.

"What was that?!" Called Narcissa's concerned voice as she bolted into the room, nearly tripping over the pile of people on the floor. As if things couldn't get any worse, Voldemort, and his death eaters, had all come rushing up and now everyone was in Harry's bedroom.

"Oh Merlin! Uncle Sev! I told you to feed him, not fuck him!" Draco looked aghast as he looked between Harry, Severus and the clearly rumbled sheets on the bed.

"Draco, language!" Lucius admonished.

"Now is not the time, Lucy!" Bellarix said gleefully. "I need details!"

"NO, YOU DON'T!" Everyone present in the room replied to that statement. Bellatrix just pouted and crossed her arms in a huff.

"My blood may have more than the anticipated effect on Potter…" Severus informed.

"You don't say," Draco snarked.

"As for your question Mister Potter…I do not think it wise if we have a repeat of last night," Severus answered, turning away from Draco. Harry actually felt his heart break at Severus's rejection and the young vampire didn't understand why felt like Severus just grabbed his heart and yanked it from his chest. "I'll remind you that regardless of our…Alliance beyond the walls of Hogwarts, I am your teacher and you are my student. Last night never should have happened…"

"Wait…Harry, why do you want to sleep with my godfather again?!" Draco now frowned. It seemed totally out of character for Harry to crave after someone so much. Especially after one night.

"I…I don't know, Draco," Harry's eyes widened for a moment. "I just felt as if I should or…Want to. I don't know how to explain it. Sev's blood is…Dear Merlin, it's intoxicating. It's been driving me mad for a while, but after tasting it…I crave it so much now that I just want him. And also, I want to make him feel good…Like last night. It was amazing…" His eyes flashed red for a moment, then returned to green as he realized how was actually going on about how great the sex had been with Severus and that he was craving more of it. Harry now appeared almost scared to those present. "Wh-What's happening to me?..." Harry asked in a small voice. Even Severus, who had been furious at those listening in, and everyone coming into the room to cure curiosity, had to turn to face Harry and looked concerned. "I've…I drank from you and never felt like this…" He panicked, looking at Draco.

"Harry," Narcissa tried to get closer and Harry just stepped back.

"Harry, how much do you crave Severus's blood over Draco's?" Lucius asked with a hint of curiosity, as if he might be onto an idea.

"There's no comparison," Harry confessed, desperate to know why he was yearning for the older man so much suddenly. "It's like…Completely opposite. Draco's blood to Severus's is like…As tasteless as normal food. It's like a snack, while Severus is three course meal…Appetizer, main, and dessert." He tried to find the words to describe the difference.

"Wow, so I feed your for almost a year and I'm tasteless…?" Draco mumbled.

"Y-You weren't, Dray…It was fine and worked…Until last night when I had Sev's blood." Harry said softly.

"And his body, apparently," Draco remarked.

"Draco, don't give Harry a hard time," Narcissa stated firmly. "There's obviously something going on. But don't fret, sweetheart…We'll figure it out." She promised.

"Yes, of course. We'll all put our heads together to discover the reason for your…Craving." Voldemort offered.

"I'm not mad or giving him a hard time, just confused. Harry fed from me when I had virgin blood too and it never turned into this…" Draco said calmly and getting closer to Harry. "It's alright, my brother. We'll find out why, even if we have to track down the bastard who turned you." He nodded.

"I think I might know what is going on," Lucius said tentatively. "Though I will need to consult some obscure books to see if I'm right,"

"What's going on father?" Draco now asked.

"As I said, I'll need to check on the information…But I recall there being passages about vampires and their chosen mate. It's stated that a courting bond can form under certain circumstances, but other aspects may have formed a deeper connection and bond. Last night, between the feeding and…Intimacy, I believe they've cemented a mating bond." Lucius explained while now taking note of Harry and Severus's shocked faces. "It would explain Harry's vampire side yearning for Severus in such a way. And why the comparison Harry gave that Draco's blood is nothing compared to Severus's. While Harry could feed from any muggle, it won't taste the same as his chosen mate's. It would never fully satisfy and definitely wouldn't hold weeks or months on end. It would last hours, or perhaps days. Like animal blood, that's the best way I could explain it. This leaves Harry to only crave his mate's blood and in the case of this particular bond, his body…"

"That's preposterous, Lucius!" Snape uttered. "A genuine self-made bond? There hasn't been one in…In centuries!"

"They are rare," Voldemort added. "But not impossible, Severus."

"S-So we're bonded as mates, that's what you're saying?" Harry asked Lucius.

"It would appear so. But I will still do formal research on the matter, Harry." Lucius assured. "Not to worry."

"I don't think he's worried about the research, dear…More like what does this bond mean for him and Severus," Narcissa mentioned gently.

"Well, to make it clearer…You and Severus are…Married." Voldemort informed. "But it is not so simple of a normal muggle marriage. Just like animals, vampires mate for life…Until death parts them. That is the only way to sever this bond."

Severus and Harry ended up looking at one another, then the potions master turned heel to leave the room. "S-Severus! Wait." Harry tried to follow him.

"I will not stand here and be told that I've ended up bound to a teenaged vampire, who also happens to be my student!" Severus remarked coldly.

"Uncle Sev…That's a little harsh," Draco frowned at his godfather's choice of words.

"This wasn't something you could control," Narcissa offered.

"That brat had all the control last night. I was defenseless and overpowered because of a blood raging vampire!" Severus narrowed his eyes as Harry flinched back at his tone. "All I did was go up to feed him, like you all begged me to do and I was the one who got pinned down without my wand, my clothes torn off and bit at. And he's the one who did everything."

Harry looked down. "Severus, enough now…" Voldemort ordered.

"You're upsetting Harry…" Bellatrix informed.

"Why should I care how he feels…" Snape scoffed. "He didn't care for my feelings last night. I don't care what formed…I don't accept it and I refuse to entertain the idea of being mated to a vampire." He stated. "This never happened, Potter," The man sneered hatefully, which felt like a stake to Harry's heart; he even felt it skip a beat in fear. "Do you understand me? Never. Happened. When you return to school next week; you will present yourself in a manner nothing short of what we've always been. I am your teacher and you are my student." Harry didn't believe he could cry anymore since becoming a vampire, but he felt something collecting in his eyes at Severus's words. "You're just like your father…Doing whatever you want and not giving a damn who it affects…" Severus glared. "Am I making myself perfectly clear, Potter…?"

"Severus…" Lucius said quickly, surprised and bothered by Severus's words. Everyone was around, everyone heard it and while it didn't show on everyone's faces; there was shock.

"Harry," Draco put a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Don't listen to him…"

"Draco, why don't you take Harry back into his room and keep him company for a bit while we talk to Severus?" Narcissa suggested, her tone suggesting anger and warning directed at Severus.

"There's nothing to discuss, Narcissa. I've made myself quite-," Severus was cut off by Harry breaking away from Draco and shoving his professor backwards into the wall.

"Snape, for once in your life…Just shut the hell up!" Harry glared.

"How dare y-," Snape began.

"Put a damn cork in it, Severus." Harry demanded as Severus went to advance on Harry, but the vampire was faster and able to easily pin Severus's arms at his sides and hold him against the wall. "It may have escaped your notice, Professor, but life isn't fair." He repeated Severus's own lines back at him from fifth year during the Occlumency lessons. "I didn't ask for this to happen and contrary to your belief, I didn't have any control over it." Harry remarked firmly, then let the man's arms go and backed up. "You call yourself a teacher? I can't fathom how when you're a bully! You're no better than my father, Sirius, and Pettigrew. Taking the students you're supposed to teach, and do nothing more than drag down their confidence and ability to focus with all your yelling and insulting. I failed potions every year because you made it impossible to succeed with your hatred of my father. He's dead, Severus…Let the man rest in peace. Can't you even manage to drop a grudge in death? Or is that too hard for you? I know they were assholes to you, that doesn't give you the right to take it out on the next generation because you're being a big baby about it."

Severus stared at the boy before him, who was actually almost the same height. Never in his life had he seen such a fire burning in Harry's eyes and right now…He also felt backed into a corner because he felt like he was looking into Lily's eyes. The same look Harry was giving him was one he got from Lily. Severus couldn't see James in Harry anymore, just Lily, along with her anger and disappointment. Her hurt.

"You want to blame me for what happened? You're the one who came to me, my room, and insisted I feed from you when I told you I was fine and to leave." Harry glared.

"You came onto me and I could hardly fight you, Potter…" Severus replied. "I was only trying to help…You needed to feed and I was unaffected by the toxic blood problem."

"And I was going to go out and find a random muggle to feed on, then obliviate them like I've done in the past. Yes, I hate it…But desperate times call for desperate measures. I couldn't risk a blood rage, or everyone in the house was in danger. And anyone beyond the house if I couldn't stop myself." Harry remarked. "I was locked away for good reason. You…Shouldn't have come to me last night. I-I warned you it wasn't safe."

"We've all known since August that you were drawn to my blood and I offered it to you of my own free will. I knew the consequences when I walked into your room." Severus commented.

"Oh, you foolish idiot…" Harry glared at him. "Did you? Did you know the consequences of barging into my room with the fact I was drawn to your blood?! I don't think you did because us accidentally becoming mates is a consequence that you were NOT aware of and clearly NOT able to handle!"

"Excuse me?" Severus started.

"You stupid, oblivious-," Harry stopped. "I WAS TRYING TO AVOID YOU!" He scolded.

"What?" Severus stared at him, confused.

"It was the scent of your blood in the house that was driving me crazy!" Harry informed. "You don't need to be bleeding for me to pick up your scent, Severus. I was locked away to avoid you, to protect you from what happened last night. I didn't need you to feed me, I needed you to leave the house so I could go hunt. Every time I was gonna come down here to let the others know I was going out, you were here and your scent alone is intoxicating. And it's your scent that makes everything else fade out, all coherent thought much like a drunken muggle, is gone due to the alcoholic impairment. And I didn't want exactly what happened last night to take place." Harry told him. "And don't say that I could have just gone out the window because I can catch your scent anywhere within the wards of the manor and its grounds!"

"Everyone was worried you were going to lose it and attack at random. They begged me to feed you." Severus said. "You were already going into bloodlust-,"

"Stop using that term like you know what it means!" Harry snapped. "Blood RAGE is not the same thing as Blood LUST. Bloodrage is when I lose myself to go hunt without a care in the world as to who gets me fed. Bloodrage is the one where I don't care if someone dies because I'll drain them. Bloodrage is killing mercilessly. Bloodlust is when specific blood is turning me on. Bloodlust is when the scent of specific blood is making me horny. Bloodlust is what happened last night when you waltzed into my room and surrounded me with no escape from your blood. Virgin blood is a vampire aphrodisiac!" He glared. "I warned you to leave. I told you that you should leave because you didn't want me feeding from you in the state I was in. Because you didn't know what just the scent of your blood in your body was doing to me. Then you flipped the switch of no going back when you actually made yourself bleed and insisted that I needed to feed."

Severus realized the mistake he made, though it was everyone else who made him go upstairs. "I even gave you multiple outs before it happened. You knew I wasn't acting myself…You knew I was being driven by the scent of your blood as I'd warned without saying what was happening." Harry easily pinned the man back against the wall, arms above his head. "You knew where things were going when I pinned you down to the floor, just like this, and you didn't say anything. You just, as you said, let it happen. But you wanna act like it was my fault? That you had no power to stop it? I asked you right before it happened can I play with you, Professor and do you know what you did? You NODDED. You gave me the okay to continue and I didn't hear one single fucking complaint out of your mouth the entire time afterwards. Don't you dare stand there and say that what happened last night was my fault. Don't you dare say that I was in control, and that you were overpowered and defenseless!"

Harry finally let him go. "I had no control last night and it was because of you…" Harry informed. "Don't you ever tell me that I didn't care about how you felt. You didn't even see how worried I was when I woke up this morning and seeing you next to me. I thought I'd killed you. You wanna talk about me not caring how you felt? How about you consider how I felt? How I told you to leave to protect you, and you ignored it try and force me to feed from you. If anyone got overpowered and left defenseless last night…It was me." Harry stepped back. "But sure, Professor…You want me to leave you alone? You got it. I wouldn't want to be the cause to anymore of your pain and suffering. Forgive me…I'll remember from now on that it never happened. You have indeed made yourself perfectly clear…" Harry seethed.

Without another word, Harry vanished from their sights and while everyone else seemed concerned for Harry's state of mind and current location; Severus was the one left with a heavy heart and feeling nothing but guilt for what had happened.
