Chapter 1

~~~ Courtroom ~~~

Prue Halliwell met Assistant District Attorney, Cole Turner in the courthouse before the hearing for Emilio. Prue and Phoebe wanted to see the outcome after their encounter with Emilio when he had tried to kill Daryl. Cole turner had been the ADA for a little over 6 months now and was trying to settle into his new 'job'.

The moment Cole laid his eyes on Prue Halliwell he was in awe. The way her hair draped over her shoulders. The way her lips moved when she spoke. Her intoxicating perfume. He was well aware that Prue and her sister were witches. Not just any witches, The Charmed Ones. Cole was sent on a mission by the Source of all evil to kill the Charmed ones as he was one of the most powerful demons the Source had at his disposal. Balthazar, Cole's demon half, was the Source's most trusted advisor. Due to the fact that Cole was also half human, it often helped him to blend into the real world in order to wreak havoc and cause destruction.

Cole had heard of the Halliwell's involvement in the case against Emilio and volunteered to be the prosecutor on the case, knowing this was his opportunity to try and infiltrate himself into their lives. When Cole first locked eyes with Prue he was taken aback by her beauty. No one had mentioned how striking the eldest sister was. Her raven coloured hair, sea green eyes, porcelain skin. Cole's intention going into this mission was to seduce the youngest sister, earn her trust and eventually kill all four of the Halliwell's. After seeing Prue, he set his sight on her instead, I might be able to have a little fun with her he thought wickedly. He needed to focus on the task at hand but he was finding it slightly difficult after catching a glance at Prue.

I shouldn't be feeling like this Cole thought, she's a witch, I've been sent to kill her, and that's what I'll do. And with that, he proceeded with the day. In order to gain trust, Cole needed to start some sort of relationship with the witch therefore he thought it'd be best to ask Prue out on a date to get the ball rolling.

Prue was often not one to fall for a guy's looks straight away. But Cole, Cole was something else. Tall dark and handsome wasn't even enough to describe him. Prue found herself instantly attracted to him but there was a feeling in her gut that she couldn't shake. She tried to ignore it in hopes that she was just being paranoid. Anyway, she knew that she needed to err on the side of caution especially because he was the ADA which would be an issue in her 'line of work'.

'Hello ladies, I'm Cole Turner the ADA' Cole said brightly as he first extended his hand to the third sister, Phoebe, who also thought he was incredibly handsome but had no interest in pursuing anything because she was with madly in lust with her summer fling, Clay.

Cole then extended his hand to Prue. Prue reached out to shake Cole's hand. Their fingers slid down each other hands until their palms gripped each other. The heat from their hands combined with the chills down both of their spines caused their handshake to last only seconds until they let go swiftly.

"Nice to meet you" Prue said quickly drawing her hand back after feeling a chill run down her spine

"Nice to meet you too… Prue Halliwell is it?" Cole asked, already knowing the answer to his question

"Yeah that's right, me and my sister Phoebe were witnesses to Emilio's crimes" Prue explained.

"Right, well why don't you two ladies take a seat and we can get started" Cole insisted, gesturing to the chairs in the courtroom.

Cole wrapped up the hearing as fast he as possible, inevitably winning the case. Prue and Phoebe slowly started to file out of the room so Cole quickly packed up his things so that he didn't miss his chance to ask Prue to dinner before she left. As Prue was leaving the room, Cole slowly jogged over to her and placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Erm Prue, I just wanted to ask if you would like to have dinner with me tonight?" Cole asked, almost seeming a bit nervous.

"oh erm, sure. Shall we say 7pm at Quake?" Prue said, caught slightly off guard, she ran her hands through her hair..

Cole smiled and nodded in relief "that would be great, see you there" he said, then walked away.

Prue could not stop thinking about Cole, but also couldn't shake the feeling she had in her gut. She let it go for now and decided to get ready for her dinner date.

~~~ Halliwell manor ~~~

"Girls I need you help, I've got a date with the ADA tonight at quake and I have NOTHING to wear" Prue said dejectedly.

"Ooo, is he hot?!" Paige said excitedly, running up to her eldest sister

"No he looks like a frog" Prue replied bluntly as she rolled her eyes at her youngest sister, her mouth tugging into a smirk.

"He's goooorgeous, I'm almost jealous Prue" phoebe strung out as she shuffled the girls upstairs to her room and along to her wardrobe so she could start picking out some outfits for Prue.

"How about this?" Piper asked as she came in from her bedroom showing a black spaghetti strap body con dress.

"I think it's a little boring, just plain black. You need a bit of colour Prue, Phoebe have you got anything? Paige asked walking over to phoebes wardrobe to start having a browse too.

"I've got it!" Phoebe exclaimed, holding out a a burgundy strapless body con dress with a sexy side split

Prue smiled brightly "Oo I like it, but what shoes would go with it?" She wondered

Paige smirked and started walking to her room "leave that to me" she hollered behind her shoulder.

Prue laughed "Should I be worried?" She asked looking at Phoebe

"Here you go! You wear these and he'll be eating out of your hand" Paige said proudly holding up the strappy heeled sandals.

Prue's mouth dropped slightly "how on earth am I supposed to wear those?! There's more strap than shoe!"

Paige chuckled to herself "don't worry about that I'll tie them up for you, you just focus on doing your makeup now. Let me know when you're ready and I'll come and help you" she said walking out of Prue's room, phoebe walking with her.

Piper started to walk out but Prue grabbed her hand softly and closed the door "piper I just want to talk to you for a sec"

"What's up Prue?" Piper asked softly with slight concern, perching on the side of Prue's bed.

"It's nothing to be worried about, it's just… I have a feeling in my stomach about Cole that I can't seem to shake" Prue said pacing around the room, picking at her cuticles as she does when she's nervous.

Piper rolled her eyes "oh Prue not this again, you've said two words to the guy and you've already got a 'feeling'? She questioned, slightly irritated "whatever it is just push it to the side for now and just go on the date and see how you feel. You won't know until you go and find out a bit more about him. Then we'll talk about it okay?" She urged, standing up abruptly and grabbing a hold of Prue's arms to get her to stop pacing around.

Prue looked at piper and simply nodded her head in response.

"Good" piper said firmly

"Okay I'm going to get ready, I'll see you later" Prue said as piper opened the door and walked away

~~~ Quake Restaurant ~~~

Cole waited for Prue at quake. He arrived 10 minutes early so that he could settle down and think about what his plan would be for the evening. he was slightly nervous but he tried to shake it off and focus on the task of seducing Prue.

Five minutes later Prue walked into the restaurant. As Prue sauntered through the room, Cole could not help but stare in amazement at the beautiful raven-haired witch walking toward him.

As Prue approached the table, Cole quickly cleared his throat, stood up and pulled out Prue's chair for her.

"Oh, a gentleman" Prue teased as she sat down on the chair

"A beautiful woman, such as yourself should only receive the best treatment" Cole replied smirking as he sat down opposite Prue, pulling his chair closer to the table.

They spent the evening chatting away, Cole with his flirtatious and slightly mysterious banter and Prue with her witty and short remarks.

Prue leaned in a rested her chin on her hand "So how long have you been in the city? I've never seen you around."

Cole laughed "do you know everyone in San Francisco?"

Prue smirked putting her head down, slightly embarrassed "no, I just meant are you new here or?

"I moved here around 6 months ago to take the ADA job. I haven't really seen much of it though, due to how much work has been thrown at me but hey, maybe you could show me around some time" Cole replied, raising his right eyebrow and leaning into Prue slightly more.

"Maybe, if you're good…" Prue said flirtatiously

Prue was not truly convinced that Cole was who he was saying he was and ended up becoming quite reserved towards the end of the evening. Cole had noticed this and tried his best to paint a good picture of his life and job, but he knew she wasn't entirely convinced.

Eventually they left the restaurant and Cole drove Prue back home. Cole got out of the car to open the door for Prue. He walked her up the stairs of house and they stopped at the front door. Cole thought it was best to confront Prue about her thoughts.

With slight trepidation, Cole turned to face Prue when they reached the top step, just outside the manor "So, Prue, did you have a good evening?"

Prue stayed silent for a moment looking up at Cole's eyes, and eventually replied "Yeah, it was good, thank you".

Prue opened her mouth to speak then stopped herself. Seconds later, gaining the courage she said "you know what Cole, I'm going to be honest with you"

Cole raised his eyebrows, slightly taken aback but intrigued "go ahead Prue"

Prue continued "ever since I met you, I had a feeling in my gut that I can't shake, I think you're hiding something. I will get to the bottom of it one way or another so you either tell me now or I can find out myself."

Cole was ready for the chase "an honest woman, I like that…" He leaned in close to Prue moving Prue back against the wall and boxing her in with his arms. She could feel his breath on her neck and tried to slow down her breathing. Prue's hairs stood on end and could feel the heat rise to her cheeks when Cole came close to her.

He whispered in her ear "Game on, Prue" and left her on the porch. Prue watched as he walked away.

Prue tried to compose herself before she opened the door to the manor, she took a deep breath, rifled through her purse to find the key and opened the manor door "Piper! Phoebe! Paige! I'm home!" Prue yelled through the house and she lay her purse down next to the landline.

She walked over to sit on one of the arm chairs in the lounge and flopped onto the chair then let out a huge sigh.

"That bad huh?" Paige asked as she walked into the lounge and went to sit opposite Prue on the end of the three seater couch.

"Well I wouldn't say it was bad, I just, I don't know" Prue said exasperatedly, placing her face in her hands.

Phoebe walked into the lounge at this point and noticed Prue, she sat on the arm of the chair Prue was on and placed a hand softly on her back with concern "what's up sweetie?"

"Oh hey Pheebs" Prue looked up from her hands and sat back "nothing it's just, okay I told Piper before I went on my date with Cole that I had a feeling in my stomach, and I just feel like it's grown stronger throughout the date. I don't know if it's nerves or what, but I don't want to ignore my instincts" Prue admitted

"Well I think if my memory serves well, your instincts have always been spot on, but seeing as you can't put your finger on what it is, I suggest you give Cole a chance, but just keep your whits about you" Phoebe advised, stroking Prue's hair slowly.

Paige nodded in agreement "when did you become so wise?" she teased

Phoebe picked up a little cushion and threw it at Paige lightly "hey, I'll have you know I can be very wise when I want" she said smiling

Paige held up her arms to shield herself from the cushion "sure, whatever" she replied smirking.

Carrying a loaded sigh Prue got up off the couch "I'm off to bed girls, I'll see you in the morning" she gave each of them a kiss on the cheek and made her way to her room.

This is a problem for another day…
