Hey everyone, I'm surprised I got some reads considering Charmed is a very old show now but thank you so much for reading! A big thanks to the guest reviewer for dropping a comment! I agree, they looked so good on screen together! I had chapter 2 written already so I thought I'd just upload it now. I have kind of used a scene from a charmed episode, you'll know what I'm talking about. My tenses might be a bit mismatched but again, I've never written fanfic before and I only got a B in GCSE English lol. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: This is just a made-up story; I don't own the show or any of the characters!
Chapter 2
~~~ Halliwell Manor ~~~
Balthazar shimmered into the Halliwell Manor, upon seeing Piper come out of the kitchen, he conjured a big blue crackling energy ball in his hand and threw it as hard as he could toward her
"AH!" piper yelped as she ducked, watching the energy ball smash into the kitchen cabinets scattering little glass shards everywhere. "Hey! That's gonna cost a fortune!" she quipped, glaring at him
Prue came running down the stairs slightly panicked after hearing the clattering from when she was upstairs. "Piper! Where are y-" Prue stopped mid-sentence as she witnessed Piper flying across the room into the grandfather clock. "PIPER!" Prue's eyes bulged as she hurriedly ran over to her and checked piper over for any cuts. She then promptly pulled her to her feet.
Prue looked up to see Balthazar standing by the dining table bouncing an energy ball up and down in his hand, taunting her with an evil smirk on his face. Prue strengthened her stance and clenched her fists, preparing herself for what was to come.
Balthazar hurled the energy ball toward Prue, Piper held up her hands to freeze it and Prue threw her arm out, sending it straight back to Balthazar, hard.
"ARRRHH" Balthazar growled as he flew through the air crashing into the dining room table, and knocking his head back hard against it. Prue saw this as an opportunity. She grabbed an athame off the side table and ran over the Balthazar. She took the knife and sliced a piece of skin from his stomach.
"GRRRRR" Balthazar clutched at his stomach, enraged. Before Prue had the chance to step away, he angrily twisted her arm back and grabbed her by the throat, lifting her off the ground.
Gasping for breath, Prue helplessly looked towards Piper for help, clawing at Balthazar's hands that were squeezing her neck tighter and tighter. Before piper could do anything, Balthazar launched Prue backward towards the stairs, sending her hurtling through the banister, hitting the wall, and then tumbling down the stairs.
Piper quickly froze Balthazar as Phoebe and Paige came running down the stairs. They both noticed Prue, lying at the bottom struggling to breathe, blood pooling in her mouth, gripping a huge wooden splinter from the banister that had pierced her through the stomach.
"Leoooo! Leo!" Phoebe shouted, desperate for him to hear her.
"Prue! Hold on honey, help's coming" Paige said in fear as she ran over and knelt down beside her and brushed the hair away from her face.
Balthazar unfroze and immediately felt the pain again from his stomach. Seeing Prue on the floor, and realising he was too injured to fight, he shimmered out, leaving the charmed ones to pick up the pieces of the wreckage he caused.
"Pa-ige… whe-re's…L-Le-o?" Prue spluttered between breaths, trying to remain calm.
Paige looked down at Prue with tears in her eyes "he's on his way sweetie, not long now"
A blue glow emanated from the sunroom; Piper looked up to see a concerned Leo run over to them.
Prue was starting to shiver and the girls could hear her teeth chattering through her words "It's ab-out ti-me" Prue tried to laugh but her throat was full of blood.
Leo leaned down and looked Prue in the eyes "I need to pull the splinter out first Prue, but it's going to hurt, okay? I need you to stay as still as possible, can you do that?"
Prue nodded her head and braced herself for the pain
Paige took a hold of Prue's left hand and squeezed it in support whilst Phoebe held her hand right tightly to her chest.
"Three, two, one" Leo yanked the wooden splinter out of Prue as fast as possible and dropped it on the floor.
Prue drew in a sharp breath, raising her torso from the pain.
Leo quickly hovered both of his hands over the hole in her body and a golden light started to peak through. Slowly but surely Prue's wound started to heal.
"Urrghhhhh, I am SO done with demons right now," Prue said frustratedly as the colour started to return to her cheeks. Placing a hand on her stomach, Prue rubbed the area the splinter had previously been "thanks Leo, that one really hurt"
Phoebe and Paige pulled Prue up from the floor and smoothed out her clothes.
Paige was still slightly shaken from seeing her sister almost die, "that was really close Prue, you need to be more careful next time"
"Well, let's hope there isn't a next time" phoebe returned, glancing over her sister once more to see if she was fully recovered
Piper slapped Paige's and Phoebe's arms. "OW!" they both said in unison. "What was that for?!" Phoebe asked, rubbing her arm.
"Where the hell were you two, whilst we were getting pummelled?" piper asked, slightly amused by their reaction.
"We're sorry okay! We were in Phoebe's room watching Kill It Before It Dies" Paige responded sheepishly
Piper rolled her eyes "of course you were".
Prue looked over to the dining room and saw a small red chunk of flesh, she walked over to it and picked it up, pinching it between her two fingers so it dangled "bright side? We now have Balthazar's flesh for the vanquishing potion"
"Only you could find a bright side to this whole situation" piper quipped
"Piper, don't worry I'm fine now, besides we got what we needed so we can get to work now. The sooner we vanquish Balthasar the sooner we can all get on with our lives" Prue explained softly
"I know, you're right. We should probably get a move on." Piper turned to face Prue and phoebe "Prue, do you and phoebes want to get started on the spell to summon Balthasar? The girls nodded and she then turned to Paige "and then me and you can get started on making the potion"
Paige nodded, "that sounds like a plan, let's go" Paige swiveled on her heel towards the kitchen and marched off as a woman on a mission, piper following swiftly behind.
Phoebe looked at Prue, and rubbed her arm, concern written on her face "are you sure you're okay honey?"
"Yeah, I feel fine phoebes" she assured her little sister. "Come on, let's go and write a kick-ass spell," she said smiling, linking arms with phoebe as they ascended the stairs.
~~~ Cole's Apartment ~~~
Cole shimmered into his apartment clutching at his side. He could feel himself weakening due to the gash on his body. The athame Prue had used on him is usually fatal for upper-level demons and Cole couldn't definitely feel the effects.
He went into the bathroom to look for some antiseptic and medical gauze. He attended to his wound as best he could but knew this solution wouldn't last long. He lay down on his bed, knowing he needed to rest. He could feel himself getting worse. Sweat was dripping from his forehead; his body was shaking and he was losing the ability to stay in his human form.
He needed to be healed.
~~~ Halliwell Manor ~~~
Paige and Piper walked into the attic to see Phoebe and Prue sitting on the floor huddled together by the table with a piece of paper and a pen. "Hey guys, how's the spell coming along," Paige asked.
Prue looked up and let out a big sigh, sitting back and putting her hands out behind her on the floor. Phoebe looked up "well, we're having a bit of writer's block. We need something powerful enough to vanquish him and I don't know how to create a spell like that"
Piper walked over to look at what they had come up with so far "it looks like you've made a start which is a good thing, it won't be easy but we'll get there".
"Why don't me and Piper give it a go, and you guys can finish off the potion" Paige suggested, walking over to the table and sitting down.
"Actually, do you guys mind if I go to bed a bit early? I think today's antics have really taken it out of me" Prue asked through weary eyes.
"Of course, Prue. You go and rest, we've got this" Piper reassured her sister and gave her a soft smile.
Prue walked towards the attic door "thank you, I'll see you in the morning. Goodnight."
The girls watched their sister walk away and then continued on with their work.
Prue walked wearily to her bedroom and started her nightly routine. As she was walking to the bathroom, she heard the doorbell ring "I got it!" she yelled up to her sisters then walked to the front door.
Prue opened the front door to see a sweaty Cole in front of her, barely able to hold himself up.
"Cole! What are you doing here?"Prue was shocked to see him as she hadn't seen or spoken to him after their evening at quake.
Cole looked sweaty and dazed. His breaths were shaky "I uhh, I need to tell you something, can you step outside for a minute."
It was evening and the porch light was dim. Cole could see Prue's eyes glistening in the light. It made his heart skip a beat.
"Uh sure, are you okay?" Prue said hesitantly. She stepped outside onto the porch to meet Cole and closed the front door behind her. "So erm, what is it you wanted to tell me"
"I really need your help." Cole slowly lifted his coat to reveal his bloody white shirt. Prue gasped in shock and looked up at him waiting for an explanation. "Cole what the hell happened to you?!"
"Doesn't matter, please I need your help," Cole said, struggling to talk.
Prue went to reach for his shirt "we need to get you to a doctor."
Cole gripped her wrist tightly and pulled it away from his wound. "No. No doctors." He said darkly, looking intensely into Prue's eyes.
At this point, Cole was sweating profusely and looked like he was going to collapse. Feeling faint he leaned on Prue's shoulder. Prue, barely holding him up, opened the front door and laid him down on the couch. She called out for Leo. "Leo! Leo!"
Leo orbed in quickly "Prue are you okay?" he looked past her to see Cole lying on the sofa "is that Cole?" he asked, confused.
"Quick Leo he needs help, can you heal him" desperation rose in her voice. She could see that Cole was getting worse and his eyes were starting to close.
"Prue this isn't a good idea, it would expose us. Take him to a doctor." Leo tried to rationalise the situation for Prue, knowing that her emotions were clouding her judgment
"No, I can't, he's refusing to go, please Leo, I can't let him die" she pleaded
Leo looked into Prue's eyes. "You shouldn't be asking me to do this" He could see the hurt and worry on her face. "Okay Prue, I'll do it," he said defeatedly.
Leo walked over to where Cole was lying and bent down. He opened up his shirt and held his hands over Cole's wound. Nothing happened.
Slowly a golden light combined with flecks of electricity started to appear in Leo's hands, and Cole started convulsing. "Something's not right Prue". The electricity worsened until Leo went flying across the room.
"LEO!" Prue ran over to him and helped him up off the floor. "Are you okay?" Leo nodded.
They then walked over to Cole. His eyes slowly opened and he looked between Prue and Leo.
"Hey," Prue said softly. "Feeling better?"
"Much" Cole laughed. "You must be a great doctor; I don't know how to thank you for helping me," he said looking at Leo and slowly rising off the couch.
"Forget about it" Leo responded coldly. "Prue, I need to talk to you for a sec" he reached for her arm and walked her over to the foyer.
"Prue do you have any idea what that was?" he said with extreme seriousness. "I only partially healed him; I can heal mortals fully. Do you understand what this means?" Leo was growing extremely concerned. "He is a demon Prue."
"Leo stop it!" Prue snapped "you don't know that."
"My god Prue, there is no other answer. He is not who he's painted himself out to be. For all we know, he could be the very demon that you guys have been preparing for"
"That's crazy Leo!" she refused to believe him.
Leo was becoming more and more frustrated "Prue! Cole's wound is in the same place where you yourself cut Balthazar."
Prue ran her hands through her hair, anxiety building inside of her "Leo, you need to give me time to find this out for myself. Can you promise me you won't tell the girls until I know for sure?"
Leo thought silently for a few moments. "I don't know if that's a good idea, Prue, what if he really is dangerous, you're going to need their help."
"Please Leo, just give me a chance to figure it out first, then I promise I'll tell them" Prue responded.
"Okay, but you have to keep me updated so at least someone knows where you are and what you're doing." Prue kissed his cheek "I will, thank you Leo" she said sincerely.
Leo went upstairs to the attic to join the other girls and Prue stood at the base of the stairs for a few moments trying to gather her thoughts before she had to go back to Cole.
Prue turned around to find Cole standing just a few centimeters from her with his coat draped over his arm. She jumped and took in a deep breath "Cole, you must be feeling better."
"Yeah, I feel great. Leo worked a miracle." He said, feeling invigorated.
"So, do you wanna tell me what happened to you and why we couldn't go to the doctor?" Prue pushed the question.
Cole started to put his coat on and then he stepped in close to Prue. She looked up into his green eyes "I'll explain later." He leaned down to give her a kiss on the cheek that lingered slightly longer than expected. Prue could feel her heartbeat quickening.
Cole turned and started walking to the front door. He turned back to face Prue "I'll call you Prue." He left the manor with Prue standing there utterly perplexed.
I hope you guys can remember the scene that this was loosely based on. Let me know what you think. I am re-writing this whole fic. I think I have found a better writing style so I am able to bring the fic to life a bit more.
