Charles: Last night was worrysome, everyone called me at least once, Kim called me 5 times last night.

Jake: Probably because of Sarah.

Natalie: No worries, Sarah's a good woman.

Brett: Yeah, Kim doesn't have to worry about a thing.

Jake: We do, we're back to police work today.

Charles: We'll call you guys if we need help.

Natalie: You better.

Brett: We're gonna have a problem if you don't.

The four head in.

Lansing: Everyone, this is my new second-in-command, Dallas Patterson, he's in charge of the squad when I'm out.

Dallas: Lansing will remain in charge of partnerships and case assignments.

Lansing: Case assignments once again assigned to us, boom.

Amy: Yeah, yeah!

Dallas: Take it away, Lieutenant.

Lansing: OK, new partnerships, Peralta, today you're with Roman, Santiago, Lindsay, Boyle, Atwater, Diaz, Halstead, Jeffords, Burgess, Gina, Ruzek-.

Jake: That means.

Lansing: Antonio, with me, Peralta, Roman, Olinsky, Med needs all of you today.

Holt: Cases will be handed out shortly. Dismissed.

Jake walks towards Sean.

Jake: You and me today.

Sean: Yeah, I'm all ready to go.

Jake: Better be.

Sarah goes down to Lansing's office.

Lansing: Dr. Reese, what's going on.

Sarah: I have a request.

Lansing: What is it?

Sarah: I want you guys to reopen the Thomas investigation as fast as possible.

Lansing: Joey Thomas, we're doing that right now.

Sarah: Also, I want to carve out some personal time.

Lansing: You have to talk to Goodwin about that.

Sarah: She redirected me to you.

Lansing: I see what's going on. How much time do you want to carve out?

Sarah: 1, 2 hours.

Lansing: Detective Boyle came to me with a request similar to that, redirected by Captain Holt and Sergeants Jeffords and Voight.

Sarah: Interesting.

Lansing: You two might be able to spend some time together.

Sarah: Maybe.

Lansing: Request granted.

Sarah: Thanks, Lieutenant.

Lansing: No problem.

4th floor

Amy: A victim of circumstance, I'm hoping we get assigned a case similar to that.

Charles: Guys, Lansing and Holt both said wait for calls.

Erin: Only calls we got yesterday were fire.

Holt: Listen up, all request for personal time off will now be taken by Lieutenant Lansing.

Terry: Tell him how much time you want off, he'll say yes or no.

Voight: Depends on how much time.

Holt: 1st and 3rd floors already know that as well.

Terry: Lansing will also be taking on a ton of responsiblities now that way more people are here.

Voight: Those responsibilities include time off assignments, case assignments, personal matters and promotions.

Holt: Those could happen at anytime, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, he could promote you to one of those ranks.

Voight: You would be surprised if he does.

Terry: I know I would.

Holt: Dismissed.

Jake: You hear that, promotions.

Erin: This could be the perfect opportunity for us to get promoted.

Amy: Anything could happen.

Charles: Here he comes now.

Lansing: OK, I'm now in charge of promotions, this means that I can promote any of you, but not without the commissioner's permission.

Jake: Makes sense.

Erin: You can't do that without his permission.

Lansing: I'm also in charge of giving time off and you knew I was in charge of case assignments. I have 2 of those.

Amy: Who's working them?

Lansing: Voight, your unit would handle 1 case together, right?

Voight: That is true, seperate assignments however.

Lansing: One of the cases is OFI.

Jake: Office of Fire Investigation.

Lansing: Correct, Detective Peralta, Boone territory, ergo. The other, is our case.

Jay: Thank god.

Lansing: Agreed. Victim's name is Rich Hawkins, someone left him to drown at a swimming pool, not even joking.

Erin: That's pretty serious.

Lansing: The guy that did it, he thought of as a friend, a brother, until the murder.

Holt: Down a dark path.

Lansing: Bold decisions were made.

Antonio: What caused the betrayal?

Lansing: That we don't know, Santiago, Lindsay, go to the scene.

Amy: Got it.

Lansing: Boyle, we need to talk.

Charles follows Lansing.

Charles: Better be good.

Lansing: Dr. Reese made a request similar to you regarding time off.

Charles: You're asking if I know anything about it, I do not.

Lansing: Good, I believed that it was connected to you.

Charles: It is not.

The alarm goes off.

Radio: Squad 3, Truck 81, Ambulance 61, Battalion 25, person trapped.

Lansing: Santiago, meet us at the scene.

Amy (on radio): Copy, Lieutenant.

At the scene

Severide: Cruz, grab the sawzall.

Cruz: Got it.

Casey: Otis, get the aerial up there.

Otis: Got it, Lieutenant.

Cruz cuts as Brett and Dawson take the person to Med.

Holt: Peralta, help with the treatment.

Jake: Got it, Captain.

Later

Brett: 35-year old male, stuck on a light, almost got burned out there.

Connor: Thanks, Brett, Peralta, Choi, with me.

Ethan: Copy that.

Connor: Jake, scrub up.

Jake puts on plastic gloves.

Connor: I'm Dr. Rhodes, this is Dr. Choi and Detective Peralta.

4th floor

Lansing: Treatment better be good.

Amy: Captain, everyone has to help with treatments, right?

Holt: That's part of responsibilities, Santiago.

Lansing: I told my squad that as well.

Charles: Captain, Lieutenant, I'm taking 2 hours time off starting now.

Lansing: As long as you're back in 2 hours.

Charles: Copy that.

Antonio: He's still got a case.

Holt: He'll get to it eventually.

Amy: Where's Jake?

Lansing: Performing treatment at Med.

Amy: I forgot you assigned him to Rhodes.

Holt: And Choi. Reese just began her time off as well.

Lansing: I saw that.

Natalie steps out of the elevator.

Lansing: Dr. Manning, what brings you up here?

Amy: She and I are going out for lunch, we'll be back.

Lansing: That did not get my attention, neither of you requested time off for lunch.

Jay: I want to talk to you guys about a case.

Holt: Let's talk in my office.

Jay, Lansing, Holt, Jeffords and Voight go into Holt's office.

Voight: Halstead, what's going on?

Jay: We need someone to go undercover.

Lansing: Doing what exactly?

Jay: We need info on the laptop that we believe to contain major evidence.

Holt: We need that evidence.

Voight: We could get tanked if we don't get it.

Terry: Anyone specific?

Jay: Yeah.

Cuts to the five talking to Boden in his office.

Boden: Brett will do this, as long as someone fills in for her on Ambo.

Holt: I'll have Gina do that.

Boden: Thanks, Raymond.

Lansing: Chuck is not gonna be happy.

Boden: Neither is Cruz.

Terry: Keep this a secret from Joe.

Jay: We need her overnight however.

Boden: You need someone inside, makes sense.

Voight: We need someone that he'll trust.

Lansing: We believe that he'll trust Brett.

Boden: Let's tell her and Sloan.

Sloan walks towards Brett.

Sloan: You're going undercover for the cops.

Brett: What?

Sloan: Halstead needs you to do this, Gina will cover for you on Ambo.

Brett: What about everyone else?

Sloan: Detective Boyle will be fine, as will Cruz.

Brett: Thank god.

Sloan: But this will be a problem for Cruz, these are the people who sent Leon to Florida.

Brett: Got that.

Sloan: But Lansing does tell me that a Leon look-a-like even named Leon works for him.

Brett: Kinda interesting.

Sloan: Get the stuff you need, Voight and Halstead will be at your place soon to pick you up.

Later on the 4th floor

Holt: Boyle! My office!

Charles walks in to see Holt, Lansing, Voight, Halstead, Boden and Cruz in front of him.

Lansing: We need to talk to you.

Charles: What is this about, guys?

Boden: Brett's going undercover for you guys.

Charles: Jay, this is related to your case, isn't it.

Jay: It is, we need someone that is believed to be close to our guy.

Charles: Makes sense.

Cruz: I'm not happy about this either, these guys sent Leon to Florida.

Charles: I'm sorry.

Cruz: It's fine.

Terry: This is risky, but she'll be fine.

Boden: And thank god for that.

Charles: Just pull 61 out of service.

Boden: Tried that, didn't work.

Lansing: Probably because of Wuntch.

Voight: That woman doesn't want to pull anything out of service.

Holt: But we went to the commissioner, he agreed to pull 61 out of service.

Lansing: This means that tomorrow, Gabby will be with us due to Antonio and Diaz.

Charles: Copy that.

Holt: You still have to work today.

Charles: I know that, Captain.

Holt: Dismissed.

Charles leaves Holt's office.

Antonio: He tell you?

Charles: Yeah, he did.

Antonio: My sister's with us tomorrow.

Charles: They told me that.

The two see Voight and Jay leave.

Antonio: Where are they going?

Charles: Time to go undercover.

Antonio: I didn't expect that to be this early.

3rd floor

Casey: Don't you have to go up to the 4th.

Gabby: That's tomorrow.

Casey: You're still with us today, 61 is out of service tomorrow.

Gabby: We'll be at Shaw's later, Matt, don't worry.

Casey: I won't.

4th floor

Jake: Guy's in surgery right now, he could still survive.

Holt: Good work on your first medical case, Peralta.

Jake: Thanks, Captain.

Lansing: Dr. Rhodes told me everything, guy's likely to survive.

Jake: Amazing.

Terry: Good work, man.

Shaw's Bar

Lansing: Listen up! Raise your glasses! Jake Peralta got assigned to a Med case and he killed it!

Everyone cheers.

Voight: Nice work, man.

Jake: Thanks.

Voight: So, it came to my attention that you and Amy used to be together.

Jake: 1 day, meant nothing.

Voight: Yeah, right. I see the way you two look at each other.

Jake: Sarge, she has eyes for someone else and I think he's in your unit.

Voight: I have been keeping an eye on everyone lately, including Amy, something's been going on between her and Antonio.

Jake: I think he's the guy as well.

Voight: I'll check both tomorrow.

Jake: Thanks.

Voight leaves as Natalie approaches him.

Natalie: Saw you with Dr. Rhodes today.

Jake: I was helping him on a case.

Natalie: I heard, you killed it as everyone's been saying.

Jake: Everyone's been congratulating me.

Natalie: I'm gonna need a lot of help from you when the baby is born, Jake.

Jake: Raising, supplying, all of it, I'm in.

Natalie: Exactly what I'd like to hear.

Jake: I figured.

Charles is in his apartment alone as Brett was undercover for the cops when someone he didn't expect knocked on the door.

Sarah: Something's going on, so I thought I'd check in.

Charles: You did that at the right time.

Sarah: Burgess is with Ruzek, Atwater's out with a friend.

Charles: That means-.

Sarah: It's you and me.

Charles: Talked to Lansing, the investigation is slow, but is picking up from the ground.

Sarah: Just began, makes sense.

Charles: Joey's gonna be behind bars faster than you can imagine.

Sarah: Thank god, because that bastard needs to pay.

Charles: He should've been in jail 9 years ago.

Sarah: Yeah. He's been blackmailing me, forcing me to act as his girlfriend, stuff I didn't want to do, still don't.

Charles' phone rings.

Charles: Lansing, what's the word.

Lansing (on phone): Is Sarah with you?

Sarah: Yes.

Lansing (on phone): ESU is about to raid Thomas' place.

Charles: Thank god.

Lansing (on phone): It should be over soon.

Charles: Add blackmail and attempted rape to the murder charges.

Lansing (on phone): I am.

Charles hangs up.

Sarah: It's over.

Charles: Hallelujah.

Sarah: Joey's gonna be done.

Charles: Better be treated real bad.

Sarah: He's in prison, thank god.

Charles: A bad guy, going where he deserves.

Sarah: Listen, I was pissed when Joey saw me again because I knew what he did to us all that time ago.

Charles: Joey did not see me since the attack.

Sarah: I loved you back then, I still love you.

Charles: I still love you too.

Cuts to Lansing with ESU at Joey Thomas' place.

Lansing: 1, 2, 3, hit it.

A cannon hits Thomas' door.

Guy: NYPD! Down on the ground!

Joey: What's going on?

Lansing: Joey Thomas, you're under arrest for blackmail, rape and assaulting Detective Charles Boyle and Dr. Sarah Reese.

Cuts to Charles and Sarah in the bedroom shredding clothes off and putting them on the floor.

Lansing: You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.

The two get on the bed slowly.

Lansing: You have the right to an attorney, if you can't afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you.

Charles and Sarah spend the rest of the night in the bedroom with one another becoming rivals to lovers.
