LIV - Bore Hole
~~~(LIV)~~~
Oxon knew he needed to choose his words carefully, very carefully. He let his weapon fall to the ground which was quickly picked up by Nora. Ren came up to him and confiscated his revolver from his hip and ax rifle off his back. Oxon didn't move to stop them, because if they saw him as a threat, he had no doubt the whole group would demolish him. He needed to make them relax even the smallest amount.
He didn't tell them about the knife in his boot though. He didn't want to be completely defenseless.
"Why are you here!?" Jaune seemed to grow even more agitated the longer this was continuing. He glanced around to the others but most of them seemed on Jaune's side. He did notice that Ruby, Weiss, and the boy did not look hostile, it was more like they were cautious. "It was all over the news that you were locked up! Did she break you out!?"
No need to guess who "she" was. "No, Cinder had no reason to free me. I only got out on pure luck when the White Fang attacked that prison in order to free their own. Adam had no idea I was there until my cell door opened." At the mention of the White Fang, the others raised their weapons, he saw out of the corner of his eye, Blake trying to calm them down.
She gently took a step closer to him and Arc. He, too, was surprised to see Blake in front of them again. "I know just as well as the rest of us what Oxon did, how he helped Cinder and Adam, but he told us that he wasn't aware of what the end goal was. He helped Sun and I back home. If it wasn't for him, my parents may have been killed by those loyal to Adam. My mom trusts him, and I do too." Yang, having placed a robotic arm on her body, turned to look down at her partner in shock.
"You can't be serious. You want us to let him join us!? Blake, seriously, what the heck?"
The faunus just nodded her head. "We need all the help we can get. We all saw that monster Emerald showed us, and the boy there said she is the real monster in charge! Any advantage, any strength, any chance for a new ally should be taken!" Blake looked at Oxon and gave him a gentle nod. "I learned that back home. That forgiveness is a powerful weapon."
The words got to a few of them. Qrow, the kid, Ruby, and Weiss seemed to be listening. Jaune and his team along with Yang however… They were still glaring at him. They still didn't want him here, understandable after everything that happened.
"Look, if you want me to go, I will. I was trying to find and fight Cinder when I got tricked into going to Menagerie. I wanted to find her tonight, but she's gone. I don't know if she is either dead or fled like the others, but I am going to try and track them down." The blade never wavered from its spot, but he saw Ren relax just the smallest amount. "I know what I helped do, and I'm going to try and make up for it. So, I'll just leave you alone, yeah?"
"You really think we'll let you walk away? After everything you've done!?" He didn't know what to say to the blonde. The man had lost his partner to Cinder that night. Forgiving and forgetting was not going to happen it seemed.
"Having him with us could help." The group looked towards Ruby who was walking up to him and team JNPR. "You were with them for a while, you have to know something that we can use. Plans, things they spoke about, weaknesses. We need all the help we can get, especially now that we know the real enemy."
"You're all forgetting something important! He is part of the reason I have this." From her perch on the raised platform, the angry brawler held up her arm, showing off the effect of the attack on Beacon. "I'm not going to just forgive him. Everything that happened at Beacon… He constantly lied to us, tricked us, and then turned on us. We can't trust him!"
"Yang… I…" What could he say or do? She was completely right. They didn't know if he was sorry. They had no way of knowing if he was leading them on again.
Blake gave Yang a comforting smile. "You don't have to forgive him, after everything that happened, it's completely fair to feel that way. Just, maybe see that Oxon knows that too. See that he is trying to make things right. He risked death and imprisonment to be here so that we could stop Haven from falling. I think that is worth giving him a second chance."
Oxon felt the pressure on his neck lessen as Ruby put her hand on Jaune's, lowering the family blade. Oxon absentmindedly rubbed the area, there was no damage thanks to his aura, but it had been awkward and stressful all at once. Nora and Ren seemed upset, but not quite as much as the two blondes.
One lost an arm, the other lost a partner…
The blonde girl sighed, shook her head, blinking away her red eyes. Though she still sent him a glare. The girl then walked to Qrow, her uncle, if he remembered correctly. He shot Blake a thankful look.
"Fine, but I'm watching you." He nodded at her condition as she then walked over to Weiss with Ruby. The fourth teammate had been doing nothing but staring at him. From the entrance, he heard the sound of footsteps which turned out to be the Belladonnas and Sun walking into the great hall. The faunus family shared a hug and Oxon noticed Kali giving him a look. The blonde walked up to Oxon as he broke eye contact with Kali and removed his helmet.
Qrow, after only a brief look his way, turned his attention to his niece as he strapped the strange glowy object to his belt. Oxon gave one last sad glance to a distracted Weiss before walking up to the Belladonnas. He received a pat on the arm from Kali and a hair rustling from Ghira. He wasn't sure if they were normally this touchy, but he enjoyed the familiar actions.
I can't thank these two enough. Everything they've done…
After the hug, the woman walked up to the group. The woman didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around him in a tight hug whispering supportive words to him. "Well done, child. There's no need to be shy however." He too didn't hesitate to return it. After the embrace, which seemed to surprise almost everyone in the room, the mother turned to speak to the group.
"The police rounded up the remaining White Fang members. Haven is safe."
The people cheered at their successful defense. They had protected the school from disaster and ended the violent wing of the White Fang. Though the sober words from Ghira muted it a bit.
"Unfortunately, it appears that Adam escaped." With him still free, there was always a chance of more issues. Oxon was still upset he had allowed the man to flee.
"It's okay." The group turned to see Ilia enter as well. The two shared a wave and she gave Blake a sincere look. "He was the only one to escape tonight. Those in the White Fang that followed him? They won't support a leader that abandons his people. He won't have their help after this, he'll have no one at all, and the White Fang will be left divided."
Ghira nodded in agreement. "We've been fighting amongst ourselves for too long. Perhaps it's time for a new brotherhood. A new family for faunus and humans truly working towards a better world." His wife leaned affectionately into his side, looking up into his eyes
"And they'll need a new leader."
Oxon knew the man would do well. Sun peeked out from behind Ghira and noticed his old friends from Beacon, waving to them. He then wrapped his tail around Blake and used it to turn her around and have her see them as well. With silent encouragement from both himself and the blonde, she slowly walked towards them nervously while Sun, Oxon, and her parents smiled.
"Go get 'em." He didn't know if she heard him, but her steps became more sure as she got closer. He couldn't hear what they said to each other, but he saw the smiles on their faces.
It was good to see them reunited. He knew he talked with Blake about finding her team, but he expected the quest to take weeks or months and allow him time to mentally prepare himself. So when the fight ended and he realized that many of the people he'd met at Beacon were here? That had terrified him. The biggest fear was Weiss… She seemed so happy to have her team back together.
He was happy to see her smile after so long. Even if he wanted to try and speak with her as well.
"You're staring." He flinched at the suddenly close voice, which caused the culprit to laugh. Kali seemed to enjoy messing with him, and unlike Blake, he never told her to stop. He looked at an empty spot on the wall, ignoring her words.
"It's nothing…"
She hummed in an unconvinced tone. Looking at the four she must have been putting faces to the stories she'd been told. There had definitely been a few interesting ones.
"So, which one is the girl you were staring at with such a look?" Huh? "I can't imagine it was the blonde, there's definitely some issues there, unless that's your thing. I should hope it's not the girl that looks underaged."
She chuckled a bit to herself at his flushed face. "Or is it Blake that's the apple of your eye? How scandalous." Oxon's face was flushed in embarrassment. She truly was a force of nature, and not something he could do anything about.
"No, it isn't Yang, Ruby, or Blake… It- ahhhh, I…" His heart hurt and he crossed his arms in discomfort. Thinking about Beacon had been something he'd tried not to do. A gentle hand on his elbow quickly brought him out of it.
"I apologize for that. I had Blake tell me about many of the -platonic and otherwise- relationships at her school, and I wanted to tease you a bit. Though it seems that I made a bit of an error." He gave her a weak smile as he looked back at the white haired girl. "You should talk to her. It isn't good to let things fester you know."
"I shouldn't, I can't… I mean, I can only imagine that she hates me. Ruby is an outlier; she's just the kind of person that sees the best in everyone, deserving or not. Blake might not have been so warm to me if I'd not been in Menagerie." She'd probably be one of the first to attack since he'd been working with Adam then.
"Have a little faith, not everything needs to be so harsh in life." With those parting words, the woman joined her husband and Ilia to goeet with the Mistral council and their police force. The beginning of a new movement was beginning, and he was happy to have been a part of it.
Seeing the happy faces and conversations, Oxon walked out into the open air. The late October air is cool on his warm skin. He thought about everything that happened so far. His arrival to Vale, his time in Beacon, Cinder's attack, the soul crushing prison, Adams camp, Menagerie, and now Mistral.
Years back, he expected to live his whole life in Prism. Eventually he would try to find a nice girl that liked him and start a family, to raise them without the pressure of expectations of following in his footsteps. That seems like a fairy tale now. A goal he'd never achieve.
While in his head, he heard the sounds approaching feet. They were light and measured, it wasn't Yang, Nora, or Jaune. He felt a flutter of nervousness as he thought about who it could be. He both dreaded and wanted it to be a certain heiress.
The person that stood next to him was a surprise. The long dark hair of Lie Ren was not quite who he expected. They had interacted precious little before everything went to shit, so seeing him choose to be here was odd. He gave a polite nod to the quiet teen but got nothing but a curious look in return.
"I do not trust you, no matter what Ruby and Blake may say, I can't help but be suspicious of your conspicuous timing." The guy seemed as blunt as ever, that definitely had not changed. It was somewhat comforting, in an odd way.
"Yeah, that's fully understandable, I wouldn't expect anything less. I know Yang and Jaune feel the same. Nora as well I assume?" Glancing back, he saw the girl leaning against a pillar, talking with their leader. The girl had bulls breath on her back while Jaune held Patris. Yang had elected to hold onto his newer weapon, being a user of shotguns herself. He wasn't sure what happened to Fratris, when Kali left, she didn't have it on her.
"I'm not going to speak for her, but she was genuinely hurt when we learned about your allegiance. I don't want to see that again." His pink eyes were sharp as steel. What they went through must have shaken the bubbly girl. "You betray us again, and you won't get the chance to do so a third time. I'll make sure of it myself."
His hand rested on a rather unique looking knife, something that he did not have back in Vale. It seems that he wasn't the only one to pick up new gear.
"Yeah, that seems fair." He wouldn't. But they needed reassurance that he would be good.
As much as the man seemed upset, it seemed that there was something that needed to be said. "Even so… There was an interesting person with Cinder and Raven." Oxon's mind was elsewhere even as the quiet Mistralian talked to him. "I think you should sit down."
"What? Why would you say that?" The look Ren gave him had him concerned, but he sat down on the stairs leading into the courtyard anyway. The other joined him next, staring out into the courtyard for a moment before speaking.
When the news broke, Oxon was glad that he had listened.
~~~(LIV)~~~
Weiss was having a rough night. After arriving in the school to meet with the headmaster, the sudden appearance of Yang's mother had thrown her for a loop. She had honestly hoped to never see the woman again in her life, yet there she was not a few weeks later.
Then she got impaled.
That one event had been easily one of the worst moments in her life. The humiliation of failing to defeat Vernal paired with her wasting time and aura to summon her knight hurt. She had intended to fight Taxus, to beat some sense and a spine into him. But the strange vulgar girl was on her instantly while he had focused on Nora.
The fight had not been a good showing of her skill. Her obsession with bringing out her new power nearly had her paying the ultimate price for it. She would have if not for Jaune.
And wasn't that a blessing. The guy she had been beyond done with just a year ago was the one who saved her. It just went to show that so much had changed since Beacon. Even then, she had been confident that she could deal with everything else.
Then Blake showed up out of nowhere to help them defend the school and themselves. That had been a shock, but something she was thrilled to see. Then a whole other surprise in the form of a heavily armored body started fighting Mercury. Even if his face was hidden, she knew immediately who it was. There were a lot of emotions at that, she had to focus on Emerald to keep her from running to support Cinder.
Emerald throwing a nightmare at them had caused those that witnessed it to freeze in fear. She was comforted by the fact that she wasn't the only one left shaking.
Once the illusion was finished and the confrontation between Oxon and the others happened, she'd been too out of it to speak up. Though calling it a "confrontation" was generous, the former… something… had not made a move to attack or defend himself from Jaune. She wished she had had the confidence to say some, but thankfully Ruby and Blake did something to ease the tension.
Seeing the old leaders of the White Fang was yet another surprise in a day full of them. Something she wondered if it was the machinations of some cruel deity that was just trying to mess with her. Unlike her father, she knew the two were not the ones that hurt their company and its employees.
Once team RWBY had finally gotten back together, she could finally relax. She was left conflicted as she talked with Blake about what brought her to Haven. Oxon had been sent by Adam to meet with local leaders of the terrorist group, and had been ordered to assassinate her parents. There had been shock, but it was evident by the friendly attitude the woman showed him.
Hours later she was walking the school grounds absentmindedly. Eventually she found a balcony that overlooked the mountain side city. It was a beautiful sight. The last time she was in the kingdom was as a child, before her family because the empty shell it is now. The lights that illuminated the vertical kingdom was a sight to behold.
The spot was a good place for her to think. And she had a lot to think about. Mostly the annoying fact they needed to return to her home and the fact Oxon was somehow back in her life. And it seemed like heay be joining them if the guy accepted Ruby's offer.
Directly after Beacon, she had been too stunned and numb to process everything that happened. In the moment, she had been desperately trying to not believe what was happening was reality. Over the last year she came to terms with it, maybe. She still was conflicted about the feelings in her heart and the pain from that night, but she had decided to focus on the food and not the bad.
Now it was all a mess again.
"Can't sleep?"
She wasn't proud of the sound she made when she jumped in surprise. Looking back, she saw Blake and wasn't surprised the faunus girl had been so easily able to sneak up on her.
"Blake, must you scare me? The day has been stressful enough." The ravenette looked sheepish at the accidental scare and Weiss was unable to be upset at the girl.
"Sorry, I was walking around as well and noticed you standing here. I was wondering if you wanted company or solitude." The girl was standing in the doorway, not quite outside yet not fully inside. With a smile, Weiss gestured for Blake to join her.
"I would be happy to have you here, I'm just trying to think about the last few days. There have been a lot of things to contemplate." Blake let out a good natured groan and nodded in agreement.
"Tell me about it. One moment I'm trying to rally the faunus to defend Haven, the next I have a sudden sibling." What?
"Oh, I should congratulate your mother the next time I see her. I'm sure you'll be a great big sister." The complement only got an amused snort from Blake. "What? Did I say something funny?"
"You've already met him. You saw who my mother was fussing over after the battle." Blake's words were confusing, the only ones the woman seemed to be worried about were Blake and Oxon, as well as Sun to a lesser extent. The woman had been beside her husband and… Oxon most of the night. Blake must have seen the obvious realization on her face and laughed.
"Yeah, my mom seems determined to have him as a new child. She has always wanted another one after she had me but never had the time. This is her killing two nevermores with one bullet." Weiss heard the girl mumble something about it not being her idea. The exasperated look made Weiss chuckle lightly. It seems like the girl had been having an interesting month.
"So, Oxon is something like a step sibling now? Forgive me for saying this, but that's kind of absurd."
Blake gave a smile that seemed tired but still genuine. "It's strange, but it's not like I am going to fight it. Mom does what she wants, the rest of us just try to stay sane. And it's clear to me that it's something he's needed, the sheer difference in his mental state has been jarring."
"And what does that mean? He seems a bit different than before, but not so much that it's like night and day."
"We both saw him before we left Beacon, and apparently his time in jail had been something close to torture." The expression she wore must have shown her feelings. "He didn't tell me much, but reading between the lines makes me think it wasn't something expressly humane. His emotional state when we first reunited in Menagerie was not great, he was angry, guilty, and more than a little conflicted."
"And your mother is the one who helped him?" That was something she was happy to hear, but also envious of. Her own mother drank herself silly for most of her conscious hours, not to mention her father. Oxon finding motherly comfort was something good, but… she wanted that too.
"Yeah." She walked over to also loom over the city. "She must have sensed something, because she wouldn't leave him alone ever since we set sail. If it wasn't for his mission, she'd probably be dragging him back with her to Menagerie and cement the adoption."
"Wow."
"Yeah." Blake took a deep breath before turning to look at her. She had a cautious expression and her ears were down slightly. An adorable sight that she would never say out loud. "Speaking of Oxon, how are you doing? I know you were close…"
Weiss took a steadying breath. "I'm fine."
"Weiss…"
"I won't try to tell you how to feel, that would be wrong. But I want you to know he's been constantly beating himself up for everything that happened. I was going to try and convince him to join me in finding you all, but we all found each other far quicker than expected." It was comforting to hear that Blake was intent on getting everyone back together.
"It's not that easy. You know how I was when I found out about your past." It was a rough time for the team, that weekend had been the low point for them all. "It was worse with him. All my life, people have used me to gain influence or wealth. You all were different, a great group who didn't care. He was the same, I thought, he was only interested in getting stronger and becoming a huntsman. He even rejected me when I asked him to the dance."
She had been a mess after that. It was the first time she felt something about someone else and had put herself out there to initiate something. She had been crushed when it happened and elated when he approached her during the event. She had written to her sister immediately the next day.
"I thought that even when the festival ended and he went to Mistral, that we could figure something out. That I could keep him in my life. Then everything changed…" Once again she had to fight to keep her emotions from spilling out. Dammit, she'd been doing so well…
"I don't know what to do anymore. I met his brother when I was held by Yang's mother." There was a light gasp from Blake at the news. She'd tell the others about it another time. "He confirmed a few things Oxon had told me. That the meaning behind this was real."
She pulled out Oxon's old necklace out of the front of her dress and looked at it. She had taken care of it ever since she had picked it up at Beacon. While the emotions it gave her were mixed, there had been pride at what the symbol represents. That she was someone deserving of it.
"Everything said at the party was true. Oxon's brother confirmed that it is a symbol for brave warriors. It made me happy to know that my efforts were seen by other people than my sister and you all. I thought that even if he was allied to Cinder, that at least the way he thought of me was real."
Blake made to speak but Weiss shook her head to continue. She needed to get this out.
"And maybe he was, maybe everything we had was real, but that made the pain of his betrayal worse. It hurt that he didn't think we could help him, that he felt like there was no other choice but to obey that woman! If he had come to us, we would have been surprised, but I would have done anything I could have to help him!"
She would have had her team do everything they could to stop Cinder before it all happened. They could have gone to the faculty, to Ironwood, to her sister! Did he not trust them to help him? He should have known them enough to realize she would have looked past everything! But he didn't, he went along with the criminal plot until the end, even if he said he turned on them once he realized just how monstrous the plan was.
"Why did he lie…" There were tears beginning to pool in her eyes.
Suddenly there were arms wrapped around her. It took a moment to realize that Blake was giving her a gentle yet firm hug, black hair obscuring her vision. Weiss hugged her back without a moment's thought. She missed this. Positive physical contact.
"There there…" Weiss felt Blake comfort her by running a hand up and down her back. "Maybe you can talk with him later, perhaps make it clear how what he did hurt you. He knows you are upset, and he wants to fix things. But we know what he's like, Oxon's going to try and give you distance until things fall further apart instead of growing a spine."
"Stupid Adhmad's… why can't they just stand up for themselves?" Her voice was slightly muffled by Blake's hair and shoulder, but it came out clear enough for the girl to chuckle faintly at.
"Million lien question there."
Eventually she calmed down enough and realized how little energy she had. The conversation had really taken more energy out of her than expected. She knew the moment her head hit a pillow, she'd be out. The two walked together back to their shared room in comfortable silence, something she very much missed.
~~~(LIV)~~~
His brother was alive… Taxus had survived! That thought both made him incredibly happy, but also anxious at the same time. From what Ruby said, his brother was under Yang's mom in her bandit tribe. Their family really had an affinity for being roped into bad situations by powerful women…
The morning after the battle was just as awkward. Perhaps even more so due to him being flanked by Kali and Ruby. Yang sat next to her sister and was switching between glares and completely ignoring his existence. He'd tried to avoid her and the other former students, but she'd burst next to him in a spray of rose petals. The girl apologized for covering his bacon in the byproduct of her semblance.
Blake was across from her mother and father with Sun next to her. She was telling Nora about her adventure back home, much to the ginger's envy. Ren sat next to his partner with Jaune at the end of the large table. Across from Oxon on the right, the boy, Oscar Pine as he was introduced, sat next to Blake. He chatted with Ruby about plans to get to Atlas.
And speaking of the icy kingdom, Weiss sat next to the boy at the other end of the bench. She and Oxon kept stealing glances at each other, something that made him anxious. She and him had not parted on good terms. Then again, that could be said for literally everyone he'd ever met in his life…
I really don't leave anywhere on good terms, do I? Well… Maybe except for Menagerie? Nobody was chasing me out violently there. I'm surprised they haven't tried to lock me up or something, seriously, all they did was take my weapons.
He let out a sigh as he chewed the last of his breakfast. He had no idea what to do. Cinder was dead, maybe, and now he knew there was some sort of eldritch horror that was the woman's boss. That revelation had been so far out of left field that he had hardly got any sleep the previous night. He knew he wanted to do something, but what he was capable of contributing is unknown. For now he would go with the flow, and maybe to Atlas, the land of his ancestors.
"-on. Oxon!" The sudden stab from a fork on his thumb brought him back to the table. The pouty look Ruby gave him meant something. She must have been trying to get his attention for a little bit now. Oops.
"Uh, yes, Ruby?"
"Ugh, you've been spacing out all morning." He quickly apologized for his inattention, getting a satisfied nod from the cloak loving girl. "I was asking you about what your plans are? I heard that your brother was the one with Raven, and how he fought against Cinder."
"Yes, news of his survival is something that has made me happier than I have been in a long time. I can only hope that more of my people escaped as well."
"Will you try and find him? I mean, we know he's with Raven."
"Yeah, except "sister of the year" is going to be moving her camp now that both us and Salem have an eye on her." The older huntsman stumbled into the room and flopped onto the chair next to Yang. He looked like he was already tipsy. At nine in the morning… Though he made a good point.
"I don't know where he is. Mistral apparently, but it's a large continent, and it could take months." He glanced at Blake for a moment. "Besides, I have unfinished business to deal with, Cinder may be dead. I hope. But the others are still out there, Adam included."
"So you'll help us?" He would, he wasn't sure on a lot of the details of the mission, he needed to earn a bit of trust. "That's great!"
The room seemed split, Yang and team JNR were less than happy; Blake, her parents, and Ruby smiled; Weiss seemed surprised; and Qrow and Oscar seemed mostly indifferent. Or maybe they were better at controlling their faces.
He still needed to ask about the random child in the group.
"I will, that b-witch strung me around and forced me into something horrific! I can only imagine the rest of her associates are just as bad. So while I know my excuse doesn't mean a lot, I do want to try and make up for everything I did."
"Sure is a lot to try and fix…" He winced at the words Jaune muttered not so quietly down the table.
The table was a bit awkward for a moment. That was until Kali charged through the various emotional states with all the grace of that brute Hazel. "Well dear, I'm sure you'll do just fine. And if you ever need to come back, just know you're always welcome. I'm sure Ka'ahupahau will be delighted to see you again."
He blushed at the insinuation. The shark girl was just friendly and thankful for him helping her village. She and the others were just neighborly folks.
"One issue is getting to Atlas, with international lights on hold, we'll need to find a closer area to depart from." The table turned to Weiss as she finally spoke up. "Also, I overheard the general saying that he was going to close the kingdom's borders. And while I was… held by Branwen… I learned that it was already in effect. I propose we travel to Argus, the city is the most northern settlement in Anima and home to an Atlesian base."
"Oooo! Great idea Weiss!" The girl nodded at Ruby, a small smile on her face. "Now we just have to get there!"
"We should take the train. My older sister lives there and our family took the railway to visit her once before. It's slower than by air, but it's probably our best bet for a group of our size." Oxon didn't care as long as it wasn't by boat. That mode of transportation still did not sit right with him.
"That's a good plan, we can stay at your sister's place if possible while we come up with a plan to head to Atlas. We might be able to use Weiss and her family's influence to get a flight. " Blake turned from Jaune to look at Oxon. "We're also going to need to get you a disguise. You might be able to get through Mistral, maybe, but Atlas will be different. They were the ones to arrest you after all, so they will know your name."
"Should I dye my hair? I did it back when I worked for Junior, so I can do that again, but I never really had any actual papers to begin with. Seriously, I had everything forged back in Vale when I was "acquired" by Cinder." Jude never needed any to let him stay at the shelter, Junior was a crime boss who didn't care if he had documentation, and he definitely didn't have any records of his time in Prism.
"What, should we find a forger? How are we going to manage that?" Weiss' question was met with a chuckle from the professional huntsman.
"This is Mistral, I'm sure there are a few less than legal areas to get paperwork and information. If the kid really is joining us, then he'll need an ID that isn't one that would tip off the authorities." Did Qrow… just agree with him coming along? That was a shock, but one he actually smiled at. "I'm pretty confident I can sniff something out."
"Yeah, a bar."
The man swatted the blonde girl's head imat the jab. Thankfully the blonde girl laughed it off as she took the blow. It seemed like they would be in Mistral just a little longer.
Pease review and tell me how y'all think of the reunion? It was an interesting struggle to come up with the dialogue, so I hope it came out ok. Also, I saw that Successional reached 100+ favorites! Nice!
Remember when I said I'd be slowing down? I lied. An hour for lunch each day with no internet lets me write a bunch. Not as frequent as before, but still good. I managed to find a Paul Bunyan song by The New Christy Minstrels. Pretty good I think. Gonna try and think of a way to incorporate it lol.
