Blood Is Thicker Than Water

I know that all of you here must know what this saying is right? Well…obviously I'm not going to tell you what will happen in this chapter. Because I want you to be surprised! After what happened on the first day in Mexico, RDJ was hoping to spend the day with his wife to start building up the trust in his marriage with Lila again. But after being attacked by a bunch of teenagers, and being attacked by some strange birds in the city called 'The Remainders' someone comes to their aid and saves them from certain danger! But who is the strange figure in the cloak? I guess we will find out! Let's do this!

1 Hour After The Ambush…

The city had started to calm down a little after the sun was proving to be so hot, that the locals decided to cool down by heading to the beach, or to head home and switch the air conditioning on!

But for our favourite feathery duo, they had no time to rest after what happened back in the market.

RDJ was moving quite quickly through the air, while following the hooded figure as requested by him. With his wife flying besides him as the very same pace as her beloved.

Both of them weren't too sure on wether he could be trusted or not. But then again, he did just come to their rescue when they needed the help.

"Come on you two! If we don't hurry up, we will easily be spotted!" The bird called back in a panic, as he flew through what looked like a large window of an old abandoned building.

This caused both the blue and gold macaw male and blue spix's macaw female to look at each other unsurely. Before following the hooded bird inside, then landed on a large table that was in the middle of the room.

Both RDJ and Lila had a little scan around the room…and they were pretty impressed with how well the place was put together.

It almost felt like they were standing in a room that belonged to the president or the Queen of England. The wallpaper was very fancy and bright. With the colours lime green and yellow formed together. There were also paintings on the walls that looked like they were painted by famous artists like Leonardo DaVinci. And the room itself was pretty cool and relaxing. This wasn't what they were expecting at all.

"This place looks incredible! Is this where you live?" Lila asked the hooded macaw, as they moved some boxes aside, to reveal a hallway which lead to another room.

"Yes, for many years now! I moved here from…well…that's not important! What I need to show you is just through this hallway! Come along now you two!" The bird spoke as he motioned with his wing for them to follow him.

But just as Lila took the lead, her husband placed a wing on her shoulder. Feeling quite concerned about this. "Lila…how do we know that he isn't leading us into a trap right now? We don't know who this guy is…well, by the sound of their voice it is obvious that's he's a guy. What if he is setting us up?"

"Setting us up? He saved us in the market back there! You never know RDJ, he could be an assassin from here?" Lila replied confidently, and grasped his wing with hers. "Don't worry about it. If anything happens, we will deal with it, okay?"

"Alright…let's see where this…guy is taking us!"

With that being said, the couple walked through the gap in between the boxes to get to the other room.

Once they got trough the hallway, the bird pushed open a couple of doors and continued to walk straight. Clearly leading them somewhere hidden from the outside.

"Quickly quickly! Come on you guys!"

"Where are you taking us?" Lila asked as they saw how beautiful the walls were.

"You'll see! I'm taking you to your room!"

"Woah woah hold on there buddy!" RDJ rose both his wings up and stopped in his tracks. Causing both Lila and the other bird to look at him curiously. "I'm sorry, but if we are going to get any further here, we have to at least see your face!"

"What…right now?" The male responded, as he pointed over his shoulder. "Your room is only in there? Can't we wait until we get inside the room?"

"Is there a problem with that?"

"Of course not! I just don't show my face out here in case anything or anyone finds us!" For some reason he seemed very nervous when being asked this. But where RDJ wanted to know the truth now, Lila just opened the doors to the room and immediately walked inside. "Your wife seems to have the right idea!" He replied with a small smirk before following her inside.

The blue and gold macaw male rolled his eyes before joining up with them. Only to see that her wife had already made herself comfy on the bed.

"Ahhhhhh…now this…is what I call relaxation!" Lila sighed in relief, as she stretched her body across the mattress. Making her husband chuckle In amusement.

"I'm sorry that there is only a bed in here you two! I would have decorated the place up a bit more if I knew you were coming!" The male apologised in a calm manner as he smiled at the blue female. As he cupped his wings together in front of him. But why was he only smiling at Lila?

"It's fine…but now can we see your face please? I don't want to have to keep asking!" RDJ began to feel a little more impatient now. That he pointed his wingtip up at his face. "Take the hood off!"

"Alright alright! Just…please, don't get too freaked out!" The male responded as he rose his wings up to the height of his shoulders.

He moved his wings up to his hood, then slowly pulled the hood down to reveal his face. And once they had a little glance at him…there was something about the macaw which really surprised the assassin. To the point where his eyes widened to the widest they could go. Also his jaw dropped in a shocked manner.

As he revealed who he was…the bird standing in front of them…was another blue and gold macaw male. But he looked a little bit older than RDJ, and he was fairly muscular as well. But not as strong as the assassin.

"Ta-da!" He announced in a nervous manner, while scratching the back of his head. "It's so good to finally reveal myself to you…little brother!"

"WHAAAAAT?!" RDJ and Lila chorused at the same time. With the blue female getting up from the bed, and standing next to her husband. Who was continuing to gaze at the other male a little horrified to say the least.

"Look, I know that this is a little out of the ordinary but…"

"No no no! There is no way that you are my brother! I'm sorry, but my father made it clear that I only had one brother and one sister! My sister Iris is back home in Rio, and my brother Fred is…" RDJ was about to finish his sentence, but the blue and gold male who told him he was his brother, covered his beak with his wing.

"Standing right in front of you…" He finished his sentence with a smile, before lowering his wing to his side. "And before you ask any questions, yes I am real!"

"But…we found out that you were killed by Felix in Cairo?" Lila pointed out, while linking wings with her husband to give him some comfort after this shocking new development in their lives. "How is it that you are alive?"

"Felix stabbed me in the stomach…and I lost a lot of blood! As he left the scene, expecting me to be dead…I ripped off my hood that I was wearing. I rinsed some water on it from my water container, then I held it on the wound to stop the bleeding."

"But how did you manage to survive without bleeding to death?" RDJ asked, as he managed to calm down a little bit.

"I didn't think I'd make it! I wandered in the desert for a few minutes to try and make it back to the village. But then I collapsed on the sand head first, which I hated a lot because I don't like sand!"

"Well that's one way to prove your my brother!" RDJ joked, causing his beloved to giggle a little.

"Anyway, I woke up a few hours later in this…random hut? Someone found me in the desert, and gave me a second chance to survive! They even patched up my wound and gave me fresh supplies! But to this day…I still don't know who that bird was. I never got the chance to thank him or her!" Fred replied sadly as he lowered his head.

"But look on the bright side? At least you know that you aren't the last one in your family now! RDJ is your brother!" Lila remarked proudly as she laid her head on RDJ's shoulder.

"Haha, that is true! Now…am I going to need to ask you to give your long lost brother a hug?" The older male asked as he opened up his wings.

RDJ smirked in amusement and wrapped his wings around his brother in a manly hug. Patting each other on the back roughly.

"Fucking hell dude? How old even are you? Especially since you still have the body of a 21 year old!" Fred remarked as he noticed how his brother had a really good physique. Compared to his, he didn't have the most impressive body of the two.

"Myself and my wife Lila here, are both 37! Even though she looks like she's about 19." RDJ cheekily nudged his wife, who continued to giggle again and blushed a bright red.

"Oooh, you compliment your wife eh? Well you're not wrong! She is what most locals around here would say, as hot as a ghost chilli pepper!" Fred winked at the duo, before crossing his wings.

"Oh stop it you guys! My face will become a scarlet macaw in a minute!" Lila fanned her face with her wing after deeply blushing.

"Right, well…I better leave you two lovebirds to it!" Fred clapped his wings together before turning around and walked away from the couple. But just before he did leave, RDJ walked up to him and rose his wingtip up.

"Just…one more question. If you don't mind?"

"Of course. Shoot!"

"If you were alive this whole time…why didn't you ever come and visit us in Rio?"

"Are you kidding me? I had to escape here to Mexico to hide from Felix! But now that he's dead, every one of those thuggish bastards came here and started a new group! The remainders…the ones from the market earlier today." Fred replied as he crossed his wings. "I have no idea why they are here! But I don't like the sound of it."

"Well that is why I came here brother! I came here for answers!" The blue and gold male assassin spoke in a determined manner.

"Well hopefully you will find the answers here! There is a an old abandoned beach hut on the far end of the coast of Cancun beach. There should be some birds there who might be able to help you with that!"

"Thanks. Just one more little thing! Do you know anything about this?" RDJ went into his arrow bag, and pulled out the book that he took from the guard's dead body in Belarus. He passed it over to his brother. And he took a little look through the pages. But he didn't quite understand what any of it meant.

"Fascinating! I have never seen such old literature? You should take this to them! They are pretty good when it comes to finding out secrets in books. Only reason how I know that, was because I tried to find a faster way to learn how to speak Spanish!"

"But do you know anything at all about this? Nothing?" RDJ asked a second time, before placing the book back into his arrow bag.

"I'm sorry, I don't! Anyway, I can't keep my friends waiting. I'm heading to the club in the city tonight!" Fred beamed, pushing the doors to the room wide open.

"Oooh, you're going to a club? What's it like?" Lila asked with a warm smile, as she felt pretty excited about it. Considering the only two clubs she's been to are the samba club and the gay bar that she goes to with Emily, Talita, Martin, Douglas and Jacqueline on the odd occasion.

"Oooh it's fantastic! There's a lot of salsa dancing there, and I know the owner! Hey…would you guys like to come along?! I can't wait to show you guys off to my friends!" Fred beamed as his smile widened.

"Oooh, ummm…I'm not very good at salsa?" RDJ was indecisive about this, because he knew that salsa dancing wasn't really in his skill set.

"Come on?! I promise that I won't spoil the fun! And besides, half of the birds in there can't dance for shit!"

"I don't know…I can't show my face in public?"

"So go in wearing your assassins cloak? Lots of birds go in there dressed in robes to protect them from the heat! So they wear it inside!" Fred was very keen to get them to come with him. But then he turned to Lila and smiled at her. "Come on sweetheart? Don't you want to shake your tail feathers?"

"Yeah! Come on RDJ? If you get nervous, I'll be there with you!" Lila beamed with a face full of excitement as she grasped his wing lovingly. "Come on! Let's end our day together on a positive note huh?"

RDJ had a little think about it. Everything has gone so fast since they first arrived in Mexico. They got attacked by some spoilt teenagers on the beach, they were attacked in the market by a group called the remainders. Now he has met his long lost brother who was assumed dead many years ago. But now he has to go to a salsa club? It wasn't exactly something that he is looking forward to doing. But he made a promise back in Minsk that he would spend some time with his wife to work on their marriage. So he only had one answer to give.

"Alright…I'm in! What time do we meet you down there?" RDJ asked with a warm smile.

"Yay!" Lila beamed excitedly as she wrapped her wings around her husband in a warm embrace.

"I will head back down to the main hall to wait for you guys. There is a faucet facility where you can prep yourselves for tonight! I'll see both of you downstairs in let's say…twenty minutes?" Fred suggested while raising a curious eyebrow.

"Make it half an hour. I need a bit longer to fix my appearance!" Lila beamed while RDJ stroked her back lovingly.

"Seriously? You? You already look incredible. You'll be the best looking girl on the dance floor tonight!"

"Oooh stop it you! I'm nowhere near what I used to be!" Lila giggled and blushed in embarrassment.

"Oh stop it you teaser! We will see you downstairs in thirty!" RDJ chuckled as he playfully shoved his brother out of the room.

"Alright alright I'm going! Haha!" Fred chuckled and left the room almost instantly, leaving our two lovebirds alone to get ready for their big night.

Lila was extremely excited to go out dancing for the evening, that she wanted to be the first one to use the faucet. Her husband on the other wing, he had so many thoughts racing across his mind, that he had a very hard time concentrating.

"Ahhh this is so exciting! Aren't you thrilled about this honey?" Lila spoke with so much joy, as she walked into another room to use the facilities.

"Yeah, I'm pretty ecstatic." He replied simply bluntly while sitting on the bed with his head hanging low. Causing his lover to get a bit worried.

"What's wrong? Are you a bit choked up?"

"Well…a little? I mean…how would you feel, if you just found out that your brother is alive? Even though for many years I've been told that he was murdered by Felix in Egypt? Not only that, I grew up with him for a few years in my life! But my father told me he was taken from us at a young age! None of this makes any sense to me! Now he's inviting us out to a club? I'm sorry honey…but I think I'm too overwhelmed by all of this!" RDJ explained while sighing heavily. Trying not to think about this too much. "This was something I didn't foresee when I spoke to Jair? Surely he would have told me about him still being alive for all this time?"

The blue spix's female realised that maybe he was feeling a little clouded with thoughts over what's happened today. She knew that he felt quite painful when talking about his past. But she knew that even though she was mad at him for not being the best of husbands. She still wanted to make him feel better.

"You know…I never quite told you exactly how I ended up in that tree prison cell in the Amazon did I?" Lila asked smoothly, as she sat down on the bed besides him. With her face inches away from his.

"Really? I don't think you wanted to talk about it so I never asked?" RDJ replied with an innocent look on his face.

"Well…there isn't really much to tell. I remember waking up one morning when I was a chick, and I was so sad and so alone! My mother was obviously there in the hollow with me, but I almost felt like I lost a certain…comfort?" Lila started off her story with a grin. But soon it formed into quite a saddened expression. "So I had to live most of my life feeling like I didn't have what others had! They always made fun of me for the way I looked…especially my eyes."

"There's nothing wrong with your eyes! They are as astonishing as the first moment I gazed into them!" The blue and gold male dreamily smiled at her, kissing her on the cheek.

"Hehehe! Anyway, going forwards years from then. I remember when the loggers came and destroyed our home! And many of us didn't survive the fire!" Lila began tearing up as she got to this part of the story…with her breathing speeding up only slightly. "But one moment…I remember escaping the fire with my mother. But when I made it to this clearing…something hit me really hard on the back of my head! But as I fell flat on the jungle floor…I saw this…macaw? Wearing some kind of helmet? But before I got the chance to have a look at their feathers, it was too late! In that split second everything went dark! When I finally gained consciousness, I was in this…tight prison cell in the tree! My friends…mother…my tribe…all of them were gone! I had…nobody…" She spoke the last words in almost a faint whisper as she had her eyes dried by her husband's wing. "Then I meet you…and you saved my life!"

"And you saved mine! I will never ever forget the day that we first kissed. It is like a dream that I keep replaying in my mind over and over again!"

"Well…I am a pretty good kisser?" She cheekily giggled and playfully shoved him.

"You're good…but not as good as me!" He winked back playfully, causing her to gasp in a jokey manner.

"Huaaaa! Right mister! You are not getting a kiss from me tonight then! Hehehe!" Lila playfully stood up from the bed and strolled back over to the room. Swishing her tail feathers left and right to tease her husband. Even giving herself a little spank on the ass to make him feel even more teased. "You just have to find a way to apologise!"

"Well I only have…ten minutes to make it up to you? And…both of us need to use the faucet?" RDJ spoke in a sly manner, as he approached her from behind.

"Hmmmm…maybe we could shower…together? To save a little bit of time?" The blue female purred as she seductively licked her beak.

"I think…that is an amazing…beautiful…idea!" RDJ replied slyly, narrowing his eyes towards her.

Both of them walked into the room, and the assassin closed the door. So the two of them could quickly clean each other, in preparation for the night to come.

No! We Are Not Going To Watch Them Shower Together! Let's Go To Fred Now…

Fred was sat back downstairs on some kind of old couch that looked like it had been rotting away for decades. The room he was sitting in was pretty modern compared to the furniture. But that didn't bother him, because he treated it like his home.

"Ughhh…come on you guys?! Hurry up!" Fred wasn't really the patient kind of individual, but of course he had to wait for both of them to get ready.

He laid back on the couch, and he put his wing down the back of the couch cushion. Only to pull out what looked like a small metal box.

The male blue and gold macaw opened up the box, and there was something inside of it…which made him feel…different.

He gazed at the small object in the box and he began shaking softly. Scrunching his face like he was thinking about something which hit him in a dark place.

"One day…you will see…that things will be better now! Things have changed! Now that he is here…things will finally change for the better…for all of us! No thanks…to you!" Fred spoke in an angered tone…not realising that someone was standing behind him.

"Who are you talking to?"

"Oh shit!" Suddenly, RDJ and Lila returned from getting ready for the club, as both of them walked downstairs to meet Fred. Not really paying attention to what he was doing.

"Sorry if we made you jump?" Lila apologised sincerely while placing a wing on her chest.

"Oh no, you guys a fine! It's just…I was…ughhh…I was thinking about what Felix did! About how he tried to kill me, just so he could take over the world!" Fred replied in a calm tone, after trying to shake off his angry emotions.

"What's in that box?"

"Oh, this one? This is just an old memory of Felix! It's the blade he rammed into me before flying away! I always gaze at it when I feel angry."

"Why?" RDJ asked the next question, raising his eyebrow in curiosity.

"That's not important! Now, are you guys ready for a night of letting loose and having fun?" The older blue and gold male ecstatically spoke, placing his wings on his hips.

The couple both looked at each other and smiled dreamily into each other's eyes, before turning back around to face him and they nodded their heads.

"Perfect! Just remember this important detail. Stay close to me, and try not to tell anyone that you're in the city! Anyone looking for RDJ the head of the assassins could be lurking around the streets at night after what happened in the market!" He pointed his wing up at them seriously, moving it back and forth between the two.

"You git it!" Both of then replied, holding wings together as if they were building the relationship back uk again.

"Right, well come along with me lovebirds! I know the perfect shiort cut to the club!"

Ten Minutes Later…

Our trio of friends had finally arrived outside a very burnt out building. The truth behind the building was, the fact that it had been set on fire by hooligans in the city during a riot. And only half of the building still stood strong. But the rest of it however, still looked pretty destroyed.

RDJ was the first to land on the sidewalk just outside, and once he scanned the building with his eyes…he wasn't too impressed with it.

"The structure of this building looks…kinda dead? Are you sure this is the right place?" The assassin turned to face his brother, who only just landed besides him with Lila.

"I know it isn't much to look at on the outside? But trust me, once we get in there you will never regret it! This will be a night that you will always remember little brother!" Fred spoke with a wink, as he already began walking towards the front entrance. Where a large sparrow was guarding the entrance like a bouncer.

Lila leaned in and gave her husband a little peck on the cheek, then wrapped her wingtips around his lovingly. "So, are we ready to go in?"

"Yes! Let's do this my love!" RDJ lifted his wing up like a gentleman, and Lila giggled before linking her wing with his. Then the two of them walked together up to the front entrance to the club. Where Fred was waiting for them patiently.

"Glad you guys finally hurried up! Now come along you two, first round is on me!" Fred beamed as he was about to walk through the door. But the bouncer immediately stopped him. "Ummm, what are you doing Tom? Let us in!"

"Im sorry sir! But you are only allowed one guest in the club with you! The other one can't come in!" The sparrow replied sternly, crossing his wings.

"Oh come on?! He's my brother and my sister in law? Can't you let them in together?" The blue and gold macaw spoke in annoyance as he growled at him. "Where is your supervisor?!"

"I am the fucking supervisor! You know the rule Fred. One entry requires one guest! But, that rule only applies to those who are invited!"

"Fred? What's going on?" RDJ asked in concern, not really understanding the situation.

"They won't let us all in! Basically he says I have only one guest? But I can't choose between you two! This is bullshit!" Fred angrily muttered, spitting on the floor in disgust.

"Oh no…I really wanted to salsa dance tonight…" Lila sadly muttered, lowering her head down to look at her talons.

In this moment, her beloved just saw how miserable she looked after learning this bizarre rule. And even though he wanted to spend some time with her tonight, he didn't want her to be upset. So he thought of an alternative plan, that might suit both of them.

"You know what honey? I think you should go in as Fred's guest." RDJ softly suggested, lifting her head up with his wingtip.

"What? No! No I can't do that to you!" Lila replied in a shocked manner, placing a wing on her chest. "I wanna spend tonight with you."

"Listen…I just had an idea just now! While you head in the club with Fred. I can go to this…abandoned beach hut? I could find out more information on the book that we found! Then it gives us a head start in finding the missing keys?" The assassin explained, as he brushed a wing against her cheek. "You do want to salsa don't you?"

"Well…Yeah…I do!"

"Then how about you head in there with him, dance for a little while and get to know more about your new brother in law! Then when I'm done at the beach hut, I'll meet you guys back at the house?" RDJ suggested as he kissed her on the beak.

"You sure you won't mind?" Lila asked unsurely, scratching her left wing nervously.

"I don't mind! As long as you have fun and enjoy yourself, that's all I care about!"

"Okay…but tonight, you better not get home too late!" She spoke in a demanding manner, pointing her wingtip at his face.

"I promise! I'll be back home in time to have you wrapped in my wings, as we spend a beautiful night together cozy!" He dreamily smiled at her, as he nuzzled his beak against hers.

"Mmmmm…now I can hardly wait!" Lila purred playfully, as she rubbed her talon up against his sensually.

"Great! Don't worry little brother! I'll have her back home before midnight!" Fred gave his brother a hug, then took Lila's wing in his. Then slowly began to escort her past the bouncer. While she gazed at her lover with disappointment on her face.

"I love you!" Lila called out before disappearing into the club and out of sight.

"I love you too!" RDJ called out back to her, before seeing her disappear inside.

He was a bit disappointed that he couldn't get to dance with her tonight. But he was so focused on her feeling left out, that he didn't want her missing out on a good night of dancing.

So without another word spoken, he sighed heavily and shook his head from side to side. Before flapping his wings and flying away from the club. Heading to his next destination…the old abandoned beach hut.

A Few Metres Away…

As the head of the assassins departed from the scene…someone was watching them leave from a distance.

This time it wasn't the blue throated macaw from earlier in the day. It was a mysterious figure in what looked like…an assassins cloak? But they didn't show their face at all.

"Yeah…I think that's him? Well…here goes nothing!" The bird spoke in a low tone…which sounded like, a female's voice. They flapped their wings and followed RDJ in pursuit.

Who was this individual?

Who indeed! Now I want to apologise again for the late delay! I've had a pretty busy week this week! But, I'm hoping to get back into a groove and post lure frequently!

Main things to point out, RDJ had now discovered that Fred is alive and well! Himself and Lila seem to be making a lot of progress in one day so far! Will it improve more? Or will things get more complicated? I guess you'll have to find out as the story develops! Also, Lila is now going salsa dancing with Fred? Like that's not awkward at all! Not only that, now RDJ has someone following him! Want to know who it is? See you all soon for chapter 5!
