This certainly was not one Swiftshadow's most ideal situations. Helping the guy who basically threw her in cage and accused her of a crime she didn't commit. There were few things worse than being locked in cage.

On the other hand there was a gem wielding maniac running amok and she could use all the help she could get.

She thought of Wayne Scot, the kind hobo that allowed her to stay at his home. A part of her couldn't get over the fact that he was a retired superhero. One strong enough to bench press entire skyscrapers and laser vision to boot. She could barely fathom what sort of force could be strong enough to be able take him against his will.

"So what you're saying is that there's someone out there in possession of a cursed jewel that houses a piece of a world destroying eldritch horror who is abducting people off the street for some unknown reason?" Megamind asked.

"Yeah, that about sums it up," Swiftshadow leaned on the back of her chair, arms crossed. She was glad to be free of that thrice cursed cage. A part of her desperately wanted to go dragon and tear that thing apart. Piece by accursed piece.

"And how do you know that it's one of these gems exactly?" Roxanne questioned.

"I kinda have a sixth sense when it comes these sort of things. I felt its presence running around the streets last night. I was hot on its trail but lost it when doofus here decided I would make a fancy looking cube,"

"Hey!" Protested Megamind, "I'll have you know that my ingenious trap would've worked perfectly if you hadn't waltzed right into it. Besides your appearance did lend credence to you being the villain,"

"Heh, this coming from the guy wearing black spiked leather," Swiftshadow said, "I didn't exactly get a choice in scale colour,"

A loud jingling interrupted the banter.

"Sorry, just give me sec," Said Roxanne as she pulled out her phone, "Hello?… Yes… Kay…Listen I'm kinda in the middle of something…I understand… Yeah I'll be there. Sorry guys, I'm needed at the office. Minion, can you make sure that these two don't tear each other apart?"

"I'll do my best," The fish assured, giving a toothy grin.

Swiftshadow watched the woman depart through a wall. She had to do a double take to make sure that what she saw was real. Squinting she could she a slight 'waviness' in the walls surface like ripples on a pond. Was that wall some sort of hologram?

"To start with, we need to a way to locate our quarry," Said Megamind, "You wouldn't happen to have a method of doing that?"

"Other than flying around and hoping I sense something, not really. When we do do find your felon there's the matter of getting the gem off them. Which is easier said then done," Maybe she might encounter those dogs again.

"We'll also need something to contain the this gem and its powers," Noting Megamind. A dozen gears already turning in his head.

Wilson spoke from her shoulder, "Between the schematics I lifted from Fenton Works and the readings I got from our skirmishes with Malic korvoth, I should be able to build something that will be able to suit our needs,"

"Excellent!" Megamind clapped his hands together, "Minion, you are to help Wilson out with the build. Get him whatever he needs,"

"Sir?"

"Swiftshadow and I Have a patrol to attend to,"

The Spider bot skittered across the rooftops. Megamind always enjoyed taking the Spider-bot out for a spin. And the Spider-bot was excited to be roaming the streets like an over eager dog. The midmorning sun felt warm on his oversized head.

"You couldn't of chosen a smoother form of transport?" Swiftshadow clung to one of the bars in the pilot's seat.

"What I thought you would've enjoyed this," He laughed, "Thought this would've been tame compared to all the flying you do,"

"In the air I'm the one in control," She said, "I would've thought we were riding in that invisible car,"

"While that would be fun, we cover more ground this way. Also the invisible car is almost out of gas. Besides, Spider bot here was overdue for a workout,"

"Great,"

"So any ways, What are your powers? I know that you have shapeshifting abilities as shown with you dragon and alligator forms,"

"Actually I can only change into a dragon. The alligator just an illusion. Like I'm pretty sure you can't physically change into an old man,"

"I see," Megamind mused, "So how do they work?"

"Sorry?"

"Your illusions, how do they work?"

"They're still filed under weird powers I don't fully understand yet,"

"No matter, I'm sure we can figure out something," Megamind found that interesting. It seemed that she was still growing into her powers. A novice hero still trying to find her footing. He remembered the first few weeks of Tighten's training and how he struggled to control his newfound powers. Perhaps he should try to help her out with hers. Though hopefully with far better results.

She didn't seem the type to turn evil.

Swiftshadow suddenly bolted upright. She urgently scanned the city. Her gloved hands clenched one of the safety rails.

"You sensing something?"

"About a half mile east of here,"

Megamind wasted no time in steering the Spider bot in the direction. He was both eager and determined to rescue those hostages and prove himself a hero. And now he might actually have a chance.

Swiftshadow clung on tightly as the Spider-bot leapt across an alley. She scanned the street below like a hawk looking for a tasty mouse.

"Shit, Julien's here," She growled.

"Is he your arch nemesis?" Megamind was intrigued. He tried to pick out Julien from the half dozen people on the street. The only person that stood out was a teenager dressed in an all white suit, perfectly groomed blond hair and an upright posture. He had an air of wealth that none of the other pedestrians held.

"Not really. He's- He's not- It's complicated," She crossed her arms.

"But he's not your friend," Megamind concluded.

"Yeah," She muttered.

"Is he dangerous?"

"Sort of? He's kinda in league with Malic Korvoth,"

"So he's a villain?"

"I wouldn't say that, exactly," Swiftshadow had told him of Malic Korvoth. A world destroying god of terror and darkness, imprisoned by heroes of old. Good vs. evil, fallen heroes, A grand ancient tale worthy of legend.

As he looked down upon the boy, he wondered about what sort of might he had that would even have the power to subdue even Metro Man. He needed to know what he was up against. Get an idea of what to expect. So far most of Swiftshadow's answers have somewhat vague and not very helpful. He could tell she wasn't saying everything. Right now he had a wonderful opportunity to gather data.

"Why don't we go down and say hello?" He urged the Spider-bot forward. It Skittered forward, down toward the street.

"Are you crazy?" Swiftshadow pulled back, "We should be avoiding him,"

"I wanna see Malic Korvoth's power for myself," He stated.

"I can assure you that won't win,"

"Oh, I don't need to win,"

Roxanne watched the buildings fly by the window. She was well familiar with the industrial districts of Metro City, due to Megamind's repeated kidnappings. There were many buildings that a villain could hide in. Or keep a dozen or so hostages hidden.

When people started disappeared Megamind and her did a thorough check of all the potential lairs, only to find nothing. Only a series of derelict warehouses.

Her mind wandered over to Swiftshadow and her companion, Wilson. the story they told seemed almost too fantastical to be true. Ancient spirits, eldritch horrors, ghosts? While being a super villains favourite hostage had subjected her to many things that most people would not conceive of, the skeptic in her refused to fully accept such tales.

Yet they provided a better explanation to recent events than anything. That still left the questions of who was behind them and why, and most importantly where the hostages were. If what Swiftshadow had said was true would she even be able to recognize them? Or would they be trapped in the form of some beast?

"Hows the investigation going?" Calvin asked from the driver's seat.

"So far so good," She replied, "We might've finally made a breakthrough,"

"Oh? Really? Do tell,"

Roxanne hesitated. She wondered how much to tell him. How much he would actually believe. "An… anonymous source has come come forward and told us that there may be supernatural forces at play,"

"That is…Interesting," Calvin's eyes narrowed, "And you believe in that sort of stuff? I mean it's ludicrous. I mean what sort of entity would run around abducting people?"

"That may be, but we've kinda are running out of theories. so why not entertain it at least?" Roxanne returned to her window as an old scrapyard went by. Across the street was a tall chain link fence surrounding an empty lot.

"Huh, weird," She muttered.

"What's weird?"

"It's just that there should of been a building there," She pointed to the empty lot.

"If there was i'm sure it was destroyed in Tighten's rampage,"

Roxanne raised a brow. Most of the damage done by Hal was downtown and around his apartment. The industrial areas had escaped mostly unscathed. She tapped her fingers on the arm rest. Somehow she knew that this was going to be nagging at her mind all day.

"Calvin, take me to City Hall,"
