First Step To Fixing Things
I can imagine that you already know what I've got in stall for you? In this chapter RDJ and Lila will be trying to fix what is going on in their marriage, despite the circumstances. Keith will confront Monifa about why she is so hostile towards him. And finally…DD will be talking to Devine after so many years of not seeing each other. But as I said…it's not quite in the way that you are expecting it to happen! So without further ado…let's get to it!
Lila continued to stare out towards the ocean, where she had been sitting for the last couple of days. She had a lot to take on her mind right now, especially since Fred came into their lives.
The way he treated her, reminded her so much of the way RDJ first treated her when they begun their romantic relationship. That's what so scary for her! She loved her husband dearly, but is afraid that if she didn't work things out with him…what if her temptations drive her towards Fred? It was a lot to think about.
RDJ watched her from the exit of the church, and leaned up against the podium with his wings crossed. He too loved her with all of his heart, and wanted to fix his marriage in any way possible. But how to do it was a different question!
He admits that his assassin duties do sometimes come in between them, and they could drastically tip the scales in their relationship. So if he was going try and repair what's already breaking…maybe…Jacqueline was right, and now was the time to act.
"Okay…you can do this! We have to work on our marriage! It's the only way if things change for the better!" RDJ thought to himself in a romantic way, as he placed his bow and arrows inside of the church. Put the staff away in some kind of chest, then locked it with a key. Once he did so, he took a deep breath. Then proceeded to walk towards her in a very cool and calm manner. He did a little strut because he knew that she always liked it when he did this…but something went awkwardly wrong, as he wasn't paying attention to where he was walking! "Well hey there…WOAHHHH!"
RDJ ended up tripping over a broken tile on the roof, and he ended up rolling past Lila, and ended up doing a belly flop in the ocean.
SPLASHHHHH!
"OOOOOH! That's gotta hurt!" Lila remarked in a shocked manner, as she blinked her eyes twice in confusion. Peaking her head over the edge of the roof to check if he was okay. "RDJ? Are you alright?"
The blue and gold male shot his head out of the water, and spat the sea water out. Then he looked up to see the concern on his wife's face. Whereas he looked incredibly embarrassed. "Hehe…oops?"
"You're not usually a clumsy guy?" Lila giggled slightly, as she reached out with her wing to pull him up. But he was a bit too far away for him. "I can't…reach you!"
"I know…I guess I got a little distracted?" RDJ chuckled as he tried to reach out and grab her wing, but she was a bit too far away. "Honey, I can't reach you either!"
"Okay, maybe there's a…a…" The purple eyed female gazed behind where her husband was, and she noticed a shadowy figure approaching him pretty quickly. Which she wasn't too sure what it was at first, but as the figure picked up speed…a large dorsal fin appeared at the top of the water. "Oh…My…SHARK!"
"HUH?!" RDJ shot his head backwards and his eyes widened in horror, as a 18ft great white shark appeared out of nowhere, swimming rapidly towards the blue and gold macaw.
"Mmmmmm…It's been a while since I've had macaw soaked in salt water! Yummy!" The shark grinned wickedly as he swam even faster.
"SHIT! SHARK! SHARK!" RDJ screamed at the top of his lungs as he did his best to swim away from the huge predator.
Aiden shot his eyes wide open after hearing the screams of his mentor, and immediately leapt out to the top of the bell tower and observed what was happing. Witnessing the terrible scene that occurred in front of him.
"Ooooh, I can almost taste you!" The shark grinned even creepier. But as the shark opened his jaws wide, ready to chomp on his victim…a certain pink macaw female came out of nowhere and proceeded to attack the great white.
"HIYYYYYAAAAA!" The bird revealed to be Allie, and she threw what looked like a harpoon at the shark's nose, and all it did was pierce the nose a little bit. The shark growled in anger and turned his attention towards the pink female, who was leading the shark away by flying above the surface of the water. "COME AND GET ME, YOU FAT UNDERWATER BUFFALO!"
"I'M A SHARK! THE KING OF THE OCEAN!" The shark growled even louder as he tried to leap out of the ocean, catching a few of her tail feathers, and ripping them out of her butt. "GRRRRRRR! GET BACK HERE!"
"Woah…she's good…" Aiden was particularly impressed with the display from Allie, and for some weird reason he couldn't take his eyes off of her. Mainly because he was admiring her courage when fighting the shark.
(AIDEN! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, HELP YOUR MENTOR!)
Devine angrily shouted through him, as he shook his head to get back to reality and flew down to help out his new master.
The scarlet macaw hovered above the blue and gold male and grabbed him by the shoulders. But even with RDJ's heavy muscular body, he found it quite easy to carry him. Thanks to the extra strength that Devine gave him. Even though nobody apart from Monifa and Jameson knew that.
He placed him down on the roof next to his wife, who instantly ran to his side and hugged him tightly. While Aiden stood there with a straight face on.
"Thank you kid! I appreciate you helping him!" Lila beamed in a warm manner as she patted him on the back.
"I couldn't let my new mentor die, right?" Aiden spoke in a low tone of voice, before changing his sight towards Allie. Who was struggling to outfly the viscous shark. "Stay here, I'm going to help the pink girl." Aiden spoke as he suddenly had two tentacles shoot out of his wings and he lunged himself towards Allie and the shark.
"What the…" Both Lila and RDJ spoke simultaneously when noticing he changed appearance suddenly, with a lot of confusion in their facial expressions.
Meanwhile, Allie was struggling to escape the large sea predator, as once again he leapt out of the ocean and managed to chomp on Allie's butt, causing her to yelp out in agony.
"AHHHHHHHHHH!" She screened in a tremendous amount of pain, and got dragged down into the water.
"ALLIE!" Lila and RDJ once again screamed simultaneously, and both of them ran to the far side of the church roof as they saw her go under the water.
"Oh no you don't!" Aiden quickly leapt into action, and dove down underneath the water. Which shocked those who were watching. Which now consisted of Jameson, Monifa, Keith, Andy and of course RDJ and Lila.
Once he disappeared under the surface of the ocean…there were a few bubbles that rapidly moved on the surface. Indicating that both of them were still okay.
"Come on kid…Come on!" RDJ remarked, hoping that he makes it out of there okay.
Lila grasped her husband's wing, and laid her head on his shoulder. As she too was terrified about what the circumstances could be.
After a few more seconds of waiting…the bubbles began to appear a lot slower…and fewer and fewer of them appeared. Which indicated that both of them were in serious trouble.
"Crap! Shouldn't one of us do something?!" Monifa asked Keith and Andy, who both took a step back and pushed her slightly forwards. Well…Keith did anyway.
"By all means! Head of the 'Royal' guards!" Keith mocked her with air quotes, causing her to narrow her eyes at him.
"Well maybe if you didn't betray them and try to rape Siax, then maybe you would have remained the head of the guards!" The grey macaw argued back, and flew down to the edge of the roof.
She pulled out her rope dart and prepared to fire it straight down into the ocean. But just as her wingtip reached the trigger…
PSHHHHHHHHHHH!
Suddenly, the shark's body shot right to the surface of the water…but instead of it being a live predator…it appeared before them as a lifeless carcass of the now dead shark. That had a long harpoon sticking out of his right eye. Where he had been clearly stabbed with.
"Oh shit! That's insane!" Monifa remarked as she immediately turned back to the church. "ANDY! GET DEVIL DARKNESS!"
"I'M ON IT!" The hyacinth macaw responded with a salute, as he flapped his wings and flew straight into the church to call him.
"Wait?! If the shark has been killed…then where are Aiden and Allie?" RDJ asked in concern as he hopped on top of the dead body to examine the ocean further. "KID?! ALLIE?!"
"ALLIE?!" Lila bellowed at the top of her lungs as she hovered above the water herself.
But there was no sign of them anywhere…
(GUYS?! What happened here?! Where's Devine and the sweet tail?!)
Devil Darkness arrived on the scene, and luckily Tomada and Jaime returned from their patrol. Rejoining them on the roof.
"I…I don't know?! One minute I was attacked by a shark! The next, Allie saved my life! Then the shark pulled Allie underneath the water, and Aiden went to save her!" The head of the assassins explained as he placed a wing on his forehead. "It all went by so quickly…I don't know where they…"
Mmmmmmmmm!
Weirdly enough…some noises and thumping came from inside of the shark's belly…which could only mean one thing!
"DD! Pull the shark up onto the roof!" RDJ ordered his friend, who nodded his head and shot tentacles out of Jameson and wrapped them tightly around the dead carcass. Before using all the strength he had to pull it onto the roof. With the belly facing upwards. "Okay…Jaime! This is your time to shine!" RDJ beamed as he gave his machete to the muscular blue jay, who gave him a really annoyed look.
"You can't be fucking serious?! Do I look like I have dissected a shark before?!" Jaime answered angrily as he pointed the blade towards the belly. "It looks kind of rubbery?"
(JUST DO IT ALREADY! MY FRIEND IS IN THERE! DO IT OR I'LL RIP YOUR HEAD OFF AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR BUTT!)
Devil Darkness growled at Jaime like he was going to eat him or something.
"Okay! Okay! I'll do it! Just don't eat me!" Jaime panicked as he aimed the tip of the machete at the belly of the dead shark. "ALLIE! AIDEN! IF YOU ARE IN THERE! MOVE AWAY FROM THE CENTRE!"
More rumbling was heard from within the shark, which only could be an assumption that they heard him and moved out of the way.
Then Jaime rammed the machete deep into the belly of the shark, and started cutting right down the belly. Splitting the stomach open, with blood pouring out everywhere on the roof.
"Oh my…I think I'm gonna…BLAHHHHHHHH!" Tomada turned away and threw up into the ocean, and soon Keith also followed suit and threw up next to him. This caused Monifa to smirk at him.
"Oooh, you are so brave!" Monifa sarcastically spoke, slapping him on the back roughly.
"Fuck…you!" The barn owl grumbled in irritation, wiping the vomit from his beak. "I need a fucking mint!"
"PHUAAAAAA! Oh…fuck that was horrible!" Aiden immediately shot out of the belly and crawled onto the roof with the helping wing of Tomada. Coughing and panting, as he had so much gunk and guts all over him. "Thanks falcon…"
"Tomada." The male falcon introduced himself as he shook wings with the scarlet male, before wiping the gunk on his thigh to get it off of his wing.
"KID! YOU'RE OKAY!" RDJ beamed happily as he patted him on the shoulder. "Where is Allie?"
"Right…here!" Allie immediately called out, as she too crawled out of the dead carcass in a full cringed out manner. Of course with help from Aiden as he pulled her out quickly after he crawled onto the roof. "Shit! I thought we were dead for a second there!"
"Thank god you're both safe! But…how the hell did you survive that?" Andy asked in surprise, feeling a little irked about the fat and substances that they were covered in.
"Aiden pulled the harpoon out of that bastard's nose, and rammed it right through his eye and into his brain! Killing it immediately! Then, we were running out of air, so he had the genius idea, that if we climbed inside the shark's teeth, closed the mouth with some kind of tentacle thingy that he used…then luckily we were able to breathe inside. And he was right! And…here we are!" Allie explained what happened in full detail, scraping the gunk from the inside of the shark off of her feathers. But when she finished speaking, she turned around and faced the scarlet macaw male. Who was sat on the roof, panting heavily in exhaustion. She also gave him a confused yet sweet smile, placing a wing on her chest. "You…You saved my life? But…why?"
For a moment there Aiden didn't really know how to reply to this question…because he didn't know why he decided to save her. Who was she? Who were any of these birds? He doesn't know who any of them are, or what they are doing here. Apart from RDJ of course, as Devine told him all about him. So…he only wanted to respond simply, before escaping a scene he was uncomfortable being in.
"I dunno…I suppose, it's because…I wish to protect those who are worth protecting…" He replied quite shyly. As he stood up onto his talons, nodded his head at his mentor, and flapped his wings to fly back inside the church to clean himself off.
Everyone noticed the way that he was behaving, and it was most unusual for anyone…apart from one bird. RDJ himself knows what that's like.
"Jameson, DD, talk to him and his…friend?" RDJ ordered his close friend, who nodded his head in agreement and flew after the scarlet male. "Allie, I know you just went through something pretty traumatic, but when do you think you can find the second key?"
Allie wasn't paying attention to what he was saying, because her eyes were fixed on Aiden as he was flying away. With so much admiration for what he did for her…but also she was incredibly curious as to why he just risked his life for her in that life threatening situation.
"Allie? ALLIE!" RDJ snapped his wingtips at her in a loud way, taking her attention back towards him.
"Sorry, what? Oh! The second key!"
"Yes, do you know how long it would take you?"
"Ummm…maybe I might need a couple of hours?" Allie replied unsurely as she kept flicking gunk off of her. "One hour to calm down and clean myself, and one hour to start my research."
"Okay, take your time, you've been through a lot. Monifa, take the others inside and rest for a minute. I need to talk to my wife alone please?"
"Of course! Come along guys! Let's leave these two lovebirds alone to talk!" Monifa smiled at her friends, as they all flew inside and away from the two of them. Just so they could have a peaceful conversation.
RDJ slowly looked towards his wife, who still gave him that awkward smile. So he decided to wrap a wing around her shoulders. As they decided to take a stroll along the roof of the church.
"So…this was ummm…a pretty scary experience?" RDJ joked with a mild chuckle, as his wife just rolled her eyes while giggling.
"Scary?! You could have died moments ago if it wasn't for Allie!" Lila smiled in an amused manner, as they continued their walk.
"Well she now owes me one more! I saved her life in Columbia once, and a second time in the pit!"
"The pit?" She arched an eyebrow in confusion when hearing this.
"Yep! The Destroyer dragged me there, and he made me and Allie fight in this pit! Luckily if Monifa and Jameson weren't there, I'd probably be dead by now." RDJ replied simply, as the two of them sat down together, and he slowly began to rub her back in a smooth manner.
"I know…this is what I'm afraid of RDJ. You know that your health isn't great. And you know that you aren't as young as you once was. Why do you feel the need to keep doing whatever it is you are doing?" The blue female asked in concern, as she laid her head on his shoulder. "Honey, I love you so much. And I don't want anything to happen to you! But you are pushing yourself too hard by doing this!"
"I know Lila. Listen to me…you are the main reason why I keep doing all of these things! I do them because I want us to have a safe future. Not just us, but the kids! Our friends! Our family. If I didn't care about you or our friends, I would have just sent them here by themselves. They wouldn't have been able to survive."
"Yes, I understand that RDJ. I just…I just can't be alone again! I've spent too many years by myself, without any loved ones of family around me. Then when you come along and give me the love and appreciation that I've been craving! It made me feel like I was the luckiest girl in the world! But, now that you are spending less and less time with me. I'm terrified that one day you will set off on a mission, and never come back!" Lila sadly mumbled, lowering her gaze a little bit.
RDJ noticed that his wife was genuinely scared for his life, so instead of saying anything back. He used his wing and lifted her head up before giving her a passionate kiss on the beak.
Of course this surprised her at first because she wasn't expecting this. But soon after a few seconds she closed her eyes and enjoyed the kiss she was receiving. Kissing him back with passion herself.
"Honey…I promise you, that I will always come back to you! Not only that, every time I go to receive a key, I will bring the whole team with me and maybe leave Jacqui here to keep you company. As well as leaving maybe Andy or Jaime to protect you! Just to ensure that I will be coming back safely!" He smiled sweetly at her, brushing a wing up against her cheek.
"You double promise?" She asked with cute eyes, pouting in a seductive manner.
"I quadruple promise!" The blue and gold male spoke, as once again the two lovebirds smiled lovingly at each other as they went in for another kiss. As they took their first big step into making their marriage work.
Now Let's Head On Over To Monifa And Keith…
Keith was helping Allie out with the deep cuts that were left on her butt after the incident with the shark. Although Jaime was convinced that he could do this without any help.
"I can do this myself you know? I am a trained healer?" The blue jay insisted as he took the bandages from the barn owl.
"Come on, I'm bored! I want to do more than just sit around here waiting for instructions from RDJ! I wanna feel useful!" Keith responded as he stormed out of the room.
Once he left the room where Jaime was tending to the injured pink female, he sat down on an old stone chair that was close enough to the corner of the other room. That the staircase above him was in line with his head.
"Ughhhh…can't we just do something challenging already?" Keith was so annoyed that they weren't out there in the field fighting. Especially since he came all this way because of how bored he was in Rio.
"You? Oh please, the only challenging thing you can accomplish is how you could please a lady that knows your reputation!" A voice appeared from the top of the staircase.
Keith looked upwards towards the top, and saw Monifa just sitting there on one of the bannisters with her talons dangling over the edge. "And I suppose you know how to please a guy, when your feathers looking as dusty as an old windbag?"
"Haha very funny, rapist!" Monifa replied in an unamused tone, as Keith strolled up the stairs to have a up close conversation with her. "Why did you even do that Keith? You had a lot going for you?"
"Hey, I'm not gonna be judged by some spoilt little princess who's looking for a sugar daddy!"
"Sugar daddy?"
"Yes? The way you are nosing your mentor's butt!"
"Hey! I am showing my respect to him, because he is my master!" Monifa argued back as she stood up and narrowed her eyes at him. "Plus if I didn't know any better, I'd say that you are still sooo in love with Siax, that you probably brought Alex here with you to ensure that he dies here! So that you can go home and fuck Siax hard up the butt!" Monifa angrily growled and flew away from the barn owl. As he just shook his wings in irritation when she left the room.
"Why the fuck did I come on this trip?!" Keith grumbled in a low tone, before walking away himself to cool down. "That girl better not get in my way! Because I will bring it!"
Now We Head To Jameson And Aiden…
"Come on? Tell us! We want to know how you managed to kill that shark so easily?!" Jameson beamed with excitement on his face. Even though Aiden wasn't really in the mood to talk about it.
"I just stabbed him through his eye and into the brain. That's how you kill a shark! Everyone knows that!" (I'm not even kidding. That's actually how you do it! XD) Aiden responded in a low tone, drying off his feathers after cleaning the gunk off of him. "Look, can you please leave me be dude? I'm not in the mood to be lovey dovey with the locals!"
"Huh…he's just like RDJ when we first met him?" Jameson thought to himself as he just left the room. "No probs dude! You just rest up…"
(Ummmm buddy? I wanna talk to my friend…)
Devil Darkness spoke up, as he had the sudden urge to talk to his friend Devine. Which made the black owl male very curious.
"Who? Devine? Oooh…were you two…" Jameson asked him a very personal question, which rendered him to quickly come up with a response. "A little thing?"
(That's not important! It was a long time ago!)
"Ooooh, DD has a girlfriend!" Jameson mocked him with kissy faces and pouts. Which didn't make him amused at all.
(You know what? I think I'm gonna fully take over now!)
"Don't…you…dare! Not without my permission!" He pointed his wingtip at himself while rolling his eyes.
Then it turned into a quick back and forth argument with him, which would make anyone around him think he was insane.
(I'm about to do it!)
"DON'T!"
(Here I go!)
"NO!"

(Thanks for your permission!)
"DAMNIT!" Jameson wingpalmed himself as he was tricked by his friend. Devil Darkness chuckled triumphantly, then slowly began to change features again. As his whole body turned a darker shade of black. With his eyes turning red once more.
(I hate you, you know that?!)
"And I love you Jameson!" He chuckled again, before re-entering the room that Aiden was in, so that he could have a conversation with his long lost friend. "Excuse me…Aiden?"
"What do you want?" The scarlet macaw irritably spoke, as he laid back comfortably. With his wings cupped together on his chest.
"I was wondering if…I ummmm…If I could speak to Devine?" Weirdly enough, he sounded quite nervous. Which was a very rare thing to see. As he normally is very flirty and creepy to most birds.
"Fine, but if you want to actually properly talk to her. You'll have to temporarily take over someone else! Because if you two are gonna kiss or shit like that, I'm not doing it with a dude!" Aiden rolled his eyes as he just laid back again.
(And what makes you think I'm gonna kiss him?)
Devine answered him, feeling a bit annoyed that he just spoke like that.
"I share all of your memories Devine! I know when you first saw him that you two were a thing…"
(HAHA! I was right!)
Jameson spoke with so much amusement, but Devil Darkness himself began to feel quite uncomfortable.
"I don't feel like taking over someone else?! It would make Jameson pass out again?"
"Well it's either that, or you don't talk! Your choice!" Aiden answered as he turned to face him.
Devil Darkness had a little think about it, and to him it would be better if he could have a private conversation with Devine. Without Jameson or Aiden getting involved or making stupid comments about them. So he looked up at Aiden and spoke directly to Devine. "Okay, Devine, would you be up for that?"
(Who would you want to take over? There are limited options here?)
"I think I may have an idea…even though the circumstances may be a bit strange for it!"
Meanwhile…
"Jacqui, do you think we would be able to bury him?" Andy walked up to the blue female, who just continued to sit by Roberto's body. Her cheeks were red from where she was crying, and wasn't sure how to respond.
"I don't know Andy…I just want him to be buried back home! So I'm gonna see about possibly cremating his body. But that could take days." Jacqueline replied with a saddened look, as she stood up and walked away from her dead husband's corpse. "To be honest, I feel like I need a break right now. I don't really feel like talking…"
"I get what you mean…I went home briefly after the war in Rio ended. And I found out that my wife left me for another bird a week after I left Venice! Talk about loyalty…" The hyacinth macaw sadly spoke.
"I'm sorry to hear that!"
"Ahhh, it's fine! If it wasn't meant to be then it wasn't meant to be! It's not like we could change who we are!"
"Yeah hehe…wouldn't that he someth…HUH?!"
Suddenly, a huge blast of energy shot inside Jacqueline's beak and her body began to change colour. From her usual beautiful blue feathers, into a darker shade of black, and her eyes began to change colour as well.
"What the…" Andy was about to reply herself, but soon her body changed into a darker shade of black as the blast of red energy shot inside of his beak.
And after a few brief moments…It appeared to be that Devil Darkness had temporarily taken over Andy, and Devine temporarily took over Jacqueline. Meaning that both Andy and Jacqui were currently in a sleep as the duo took over their bodies.
"Well, this is weird for us?" Devil Darkness first spoke up as he had a look at his body that he was using. "Andy has longer wings?"
"Maybe because you bonded with a black owl again! Why can't you let go of who you recently took over?" Devine asked as she was admiring the body she took over, rubbing her butt with her blackened wings. "Oooh, this Jacqueline girl has the biggest butt!"
"Yeah…it looks good on you!"
Devine blushed in a giddy manner, as she placed a wing over her face to cover her giggling. "I see you are still the same flirty guy that I met all those years ago!"
"Well…it had been over 2000 years since the last time we've had sex…I mean! Since I…We…Ummmm…" He was stuttering a little, because he thought he said something stupid. But Devine covered his beak with her wing and shushed him.
"Shhhh…Now now DD! Tell me…what have you been up to since you came back on this earth?" She asked in a playful manner, as she sat on top of a stone chest in the room. Crossing her talons over to cover up her private parts.
"Nothing much to say the least? Just fought in the battle of Rio against Felix and his thugs. Also I made some good friends. But…"
"But?" She rose and eyebrow in curiosity, leaning in closer to listen to him.
"You don't know how much this means to me Devine. To see you again! I was up all night whilst Jameson was sleeping, every night, hoping to see you again!" Devil Darkness approached his friend, in a confident strut. As she started to feel quite touched by his words. "I thought about you every day…"
"I thought about you too Devil Darkness. I just…I can't believe that we are actually here again! Back together after so many years!"
"I know…also, I hope you haven't forgotten that you owe me one!"
"What? Since when do I owe you one? Especially after I helped you in the city earlier today!"
"I remember what you did with the thugs all those years ago? Who was the one who gave you a chance to redeem yourself to Jair?" He asked her with a curious stare as he got even closer to Devine. Standing right in front of her.
"You?" She answered quite anxiously…as she began staring at him, biting the bottom of her beak.
"And…who was the one offered to take you in when none of the other assassins did?" Devil Darkness asked as he began moving his wings on her thighs. Causing her to shiver a little.
"Ummm…M-M-Me?" Devine stuttered again, as she clenched her legs together together…feeling a sudden urge after so many years.
"So…you…owe…me…" He seductively spoke as he moved his wings to her butt, and squeezed it really roughly.
"You're so fucking relentless aren't you?!" Devine spoke in a passionate fiery manner, as she roughly kissed him on the beak. Jumping up and wrapping her tentacles around his body as he held her up by her butt. And roughly kissed her back. "You think it's okay to do this here? Being in a church and all?"
"It's okay! Technically it's not a church anymore because it got flooded and nobody comes here! Well…apart from both of us who will be…cumming here!" He replied in vigorous passion, pinning her up against the wall as they continued to kiss roughly.
"That's true?" She laughed slightly and purred as she began kissing his neck.
