Percy's point of view
After speaking to my mother, Nico and I, along with our esteemed guest, left and headed down the street, towards the empire state building. I was unsure as to why, but I had a voice telling me in the back of my head, 'be weary of this man and his companions, they are not what they seem, young one.'
"so mister Jinn, where exactly are you from? how did you meet your little...entourage? What is it you are looking for here?" I asked, hoping to find out more about other planets, and other races and their ways of life. Looking around I could see Nico was also paying attention, even if he tried to feign disinterest.
"well myself and my apprentice, were originally sent on a negotiative diplomatic mission, to try and discover the truth behind the trade federation's occupation of Naboo. However, upon the arrival of myself, and Obi wan, my apprentice, we were attacked, which being quite suspicious, we opted to escape, and made contact with some of the locals on the planet. After getting out of that situation, we had managed to sneak into the palace, we met the queen, Padmé, who was disguised, then left to Tatooine. Meeting Anita, I felt odd, it was like the force itself, was singing. I had her tested, her midichlorian count, was off the scales, the highest in the recorded history of the Jedi. Making a gamble, I managed to buy her freedom, but we had to leave her mother behind. What I didn't know, was that the dammed Toydarian had intentionally given us a faulty part, a faulty hyperdrive. We crashed here, if not for the force, I do not think any of us would have survived." Qui Gon spoke. I listened intently, keeping my face blank, absorbing the information. (1)
"exactly what is a Jedi? Or even the force, for that matter? What are midichlorians? Nico asked from next to me. I made sure to pay attention to what Qui Gon had to say after that, I wanted to know the same thing, after all. The experienced Jedi knight spent a few moments to gather his thoughts. Finally, he spoke up. "a Jedi, as I said, is a peacekeeper, who follows the will of the force. A Jedi is meant to be selfless, to act in defense of others, to protect and guard them, to strive for balance in and of the force. There are many paths of the Jedi. The consulars, the guardians, the sentinels. Each one travels a different path, and trains oneself differently. The consulars tend to be more scholarly, often times more interested in pursuing knowledge of the force, wanting to understand everything about it. The guardians are the ones who are more often then not, on the battlefield, directly involved in combat. The sentinels however, tend to focus more on day to day interactions with the civilians, often settling law disputes, petty crimes, things like that.
As for the force itself? Well that is a more tricky matter. Some claim the force is a deity, a godlike being of power, a cosmic entity. Others believe that the force is just simply everything and anything. But I personally, as a Jedi, believe, that the force has a presence, and power, but it has no real physical form, but rather that it is just that…..a sheer, impressive strength, of power, and presence.
The force is all around us, we interact with it daily, every living thing is in the force, is a part of it. The Jedi tend to believe in one of two aspects of the force, the unifying force, and the living force. The living force, is what those who focus on the here and now, believe in. The unifying force, however, is like I said, believed to be interconnecting all things together, surrounding and penetrating all stars, thus ensuring the connection of all living things.
Midichlorians, are living, tiny microscopic, symbiotic organisms, that live in the cells of all living beings. They are what give a Jedi their powers. A count of 7,000 midichlorians, are required to be a Jedi. On average, a Jedi has a count of 10,000 midichlorians." the Jedi answered. (2)
I was processing what I was just told. I could tell by the look in his eyes, that Nico was in slight disbelief, trying to think of something to say. I managed to piece together something to say, "hm, sounds kind of complicated. But I think I understand the basics of it."
"I think I will just leave that stuff to Annabeth." Nico cut in dryly. I snorted, "yeah she would have loved to hear you explain all of that to her, she's kind of weird in that regard."
We made it to the empire state building. 'oh great, here we go.' I internally sighed, I just knew this was going to be a headache. Glancing over at Nico, he had a grimace on his face, evidently he reached the same conclusion as me. I looked at Qui Gon, his brow was furrowed, which was odd, the whole trip he seemed relatively calm. I gave him a look, and said, "what's wrong? You seem troubled all of a sudden?"
"I don't know. The whole time the force has been silent, yet now I can hear it, briefly, but it is there, telling me of some danger coming." he spoke worriedly. 'hm I wonder why? If it was silent before, why speak up now? Could the gods have something to do with it? Why? There is no way the force could be a threat to them, though that won't stop Zeus' paranoid ass from thinking that someone or something is after his throne. Stupid drama queen.' I thought, while walking over to the moron behind the security desk. Idiot was reading Harry Potter.
'I don't know why he was reading a book about stick wavers, when he lived in a world of immortals, divines and monsters. One would think that was enough fantasy, but to each their own, I suppose' I mused to myself.
I stalked over to the guard, and slammed my hands on the desk. He jumped up, startled out of his reading, he glared up at me, about to speak, when after catching a glimpse of me and the look in my eyes, he paled, made a pathetic whimper, handed over the card key. I politely smiled at him, nodding my head, taking the card key, I waved cheerfully, before beckoning Qui Gon and Nico over to the elevator.
"so what was that? Do I need to be worried about you getting us killed by the man in the sky?" Nico said, while raising a challenging eyebrow. I just shot him a look, the I will kill you if you do not shut up now look, or so I have been told.
Qui Gon asked me, "who is this man in the sky? how did he become to be in the sky? Why would he kill us?" concern clearly rang through his voice. I looked at Nico, "see what you've done now?" I said.
Addressing Qui Gon, I said, "the man in the sky is our uncle, he is a god, one of the fourteen Olympians. A group of gods who rule over aspects of nature. He's very prideful, arrogant, egotistical, abusive, impulsive, annoying, angry, hateful, spiteful, wrathful, harsh, paranoid, and an all around asshole. He hates both Nico and I, for simply being alive." Qui Gon's eyes widened, taking into account that information. (3)
He spent the rest of the ride up, going over that information in his head. Nico and I traded looks though, before speaking to one another telepathically.
"it is entirely possible that Zeus may actually kill one or both of us. Though I am certain our father's will protect us, and so will aunt Hestia for that matter, but most of the other Olympians hate us, some have no love for Zeus though, but I can't see them siding with us." I spoke to Nico.
"who do you think would side with us though, if it came down to it?" Nico asked softly.
"honestly? I think it would be both Poseidon and Hades, obviously, along with Hestia, Hermes, Apollo, and Hephaestus. Which means we will be against Zeus, obviously, with him having support from Hera, Athena, Artemis, Dionysus, and Ares. Aphrodite will most likely remain neutral or support us, Demeter will most likely remain neutral, because she hates all of her brothers, she holds no love for Hera either. That is not even taking into account the "minor" gods or goddesses, or the other pantheons, if they choose to get involved." I said to him.
"why though? How did you come to those conclusions?"he asked back.
"well, it's kind of obvious. Athena hates me due to my father, she is a daddy's girl, same with Artemis, who also hates the male gender, and hates me, for "corrupting" her lieutenant on the quest to save her ungrateful ass. Ares hates me for beating him in our battle. Demeter hates both Poseidon and Zeus for raping her millennia ago, and hates your father for abducting her daughter, Persephone. Aphrodite is hard to predict, because she neither hates nor loves us, though she has tried to seduce us both. Hermes, Apollo, and I hang out a lot, so they are pretty cool with us. Hephaestus likes us, because we respect him and his kids, and help them and him out a lot. Hera will support Zeus because he is the king, her husband, and she hates demigods. Dionysus hates demigods, the fucking hypocrite that he is, after all he himself use to be one. Hestia loves us both, we are her favorite demigods, views us both like a son. So yeah kind of obvious." I spoke to him bluntly and honestly.
"don't feel afraid, I won't let Zeus kill you without a fight. I am confident I can beat him in a one on one fight, as long as he doesn't go divine form on me, that is." I told him. (4)
"I am not afraid of death, nor dying. To me? It would be like going home, or rather going to sleep after a long, long day. I wonder if dad would let me stay in the palace with him? Maybe I could ask him while we are at the meeting." Nico said seriously, but then trailed off in amusement.
I shook my head, forcing such thoughts out of my head, clearing my dark and depressing feelings from the depths of my mind. We had arrived. I could feel the gods' power, amassing, building up a huge concentration. I shared another glance with Nico, we sighed wearily, before trudging forwards.
Coming to the palace doors, I noticed they were already open, I walked in. Nico and Qui Gon right behind me. Coming into the center of the throne room, I noticed the gods were seated and tensed, as if readying themselves for a fight. I could feel the raw animosity stirring in the room, the sheer anger and hatred, formulating, generating, pulsating.
"so terribly sorry, am I interrupting something? I would apologize, but a meaningless apology, is rather pointless, don't you think?" I spoke sincerely sarcastically.
Some of the gods just smirked, but most of them glared at me, I just sent a look back saying, 'does it look like I care?' they gritted their teeth so hard, I could actually hear some of them breaking and chipping. 'ah, looks like I still got it' I thought smugly.
" . .perseus?!" Zeus glowered dangerously, sparks flying around, lightning channeling in his eyes. I slowly inhaled, and trying to keep my thoughts calm and peaceful, I knelt before him, "lord and uncle Zeus, I come with a request. The man behind me is a traveler with a big problem, one that may require the aid of lord and cousin Hephaestus. I wish to resolve this issue, also I apologize for my disrespectful entrance and tone earlier." I bowed my head submissively. (5)
"what is the matter, boy? What could possibly require the aid of a god, you lowly, pathetic mortal? We have far more important matters to deal with, rather than helping you do something insignificant, such as helping you find your missing wallet." Zeus spat out harshly. My eye twitched, 'think calm, soothing thoughts, think about mom, or Annabeth, think about the beach.'
"I will allow him to tell you his own tale, and lord Hephaestus can decide if it warrants his attention or not." I spoke out to the forge god respectfully.
After the Jedi maverick told the gods his tale, as well as demonstrated some of his powers, much to the disbelief of the gods, (some of them). Hephaestus decided to help Qui Gon. "the part for the ship I can have it made in about three days, maybe two with the help of my son, Leo. Perhaps Perseus can speak to him about some aid? He is currently in bunker nine at camp half-blood." the forge god told me. I nodded my head, it wouldn't take much to convince Leo to give us some aid, he is pretty cool about that sort of thing, especially for something such as an intergalactic spaceship. Bidding the gods goodbye, and thanking Hephaestus for his help, I and my guests, left the throne room.
1.) yes, a brief summarization of phantom menace, or rather how Qui Gon got involved in all of these shenanigans.
2.) honestly the differences of the force views are kind of confusing, I tried to write down what I remembered, also the midichlorian count was something I found online, so it may not be correct
3.) these are Percy's and Nico's thoughts on Zeus, actually these are the thoughts on Zeus from pretty much everyone who has a dislike of Zeus. Qui Gon was going to find out about the gods eventually, so meh
4.) I think Percy could defeat Zeus one on one, if Zeus were to fight in human form, if not, well my fic, my rules. Percy and Nico are as close as brothers, sally also adopted Nico here, so that's that.
5.) Percy isn't afraid of Zeus, he is trying to avoid a pointless fight, and pointless violence and bloodshed. Pride isn't worth death, pain, suffering, and destruction. In my story, the gods can't just curse or disintegrate mortals, the fates forbid it, so if they do it, they get punished very, very, very harshly.
6.) should Percy fight Zeus? Yes or no? I can work with either yes or no. still needing some harem suggestions people.
7.) want numbers for demigod midichlorian counts
8.) I was not retyping what Qui Gon told Percy to the gods, sorry.
9.) let me know if anyone wants a lemon between Percy, Annabeth, sally, Reyna, and maybe Padmé in the next chapter, otherwise I may just skip to them all (Percy, a few others, and the Qui Gon and his group) in space.
10.) Percy and Nico, thanks to a favor and blessing from Hecate, are able to communicate with one another through their minds.
11,) anything else? Let me know, lol
