Chapter 6
Neo still can't get the beautiful girl out of his head, her eyes, her smile, her hair, just everything and now he's going to meet her on the courtyard by the fountain and Neo hates to admit it but he's nervous and wondering why she wants to meet him. He made it to the courtyard to see a clear night sky with millions of stars and a full moon, shining down to the fountain that makes the water glitter and their he sees Nadia sitting on the bench, reading a book who looks like she is surrounded by an angelic glow thanks to the moon. He takes a deep breath to calm his fast beating heart and put on his angry face as he starts marching towards her. He stands in front, holding up a piece of paper.
"What the hell is this!? You know if you want to meet you could have just say so rather than writing on my plans." he waits for her response and all he gets is a slight chuckle. She looks up at him and he sees her eyes looking seductive and full of lust.
"Well I didn't want you to forget meeting me." she starts leaning towards to show her cleavage at him,"that wouldn't be fair would it? To keep me waiting and making me wanting you more, now that will be very bad of you." Neo can't help but gulp, feeling hot and flustered as she inches closer towards him,
"and since you have been a bad assistant," she grabs the front his tie and pulls him down, straddling on top of him while still holding to his tie.
"I think you deserve a little punishment, don't you?" she said in a seductive whisper and leans in to kiss him when there lips met. Neo couldn't believe this is happening and leans in to deepen the kiss when he hears a familiar voice.
"Neo!" he opens when a pair of lips left his and instead of seeing Nadia's face, he sees Ginny's face looking right at him.
"Wake up!"
Neo jolts awake with a scream and been greeted by a pillow thrown at his face. He moves the pillow away to see Ginny giving him a disgusting look.
"Don't. Ever. Do. That. Again." Neo removes the pillow,
"Good morning to you too and what's your problem?" Ginny rolls their eyes and imitates Neo kissy face.
"Mwa mwa mwa mwa!" and abruptly stop when Neo throws a pillow at Ginny's face.
"Shut up! I was not doing that!" he said embarressingly. Ginny snickers and clears their throat,
"Well, your bed clothes says otherwise." they said with a smirk and points down where Neo looks down to see a wet patch where his groin is which tries to cover it up and failing.
"Soooooo, who's the lucky lady? Or Gentleman? Or is it me? I mean I'm flattered but you're a little short for my liking." Neo scoffs,
"In your dreams." Ginny's still smirking at him as they walk towards the door.
"Well get dressed. We're picking up Nadia from her dorm so we can show her around, especially showing her around campus." Neo just groans as flashes of his dreams starts coming back, making him choke in his own air.
"Are you alright?" Ginny asks as Neo's still clearing his throat.
"I'm fine. Now leave so I can get change." Ginny doesn't believe him and gives him a look before they leave, leaving Neo to recollect his thoughts on a dream he had.
Once Neo got ready, both him and Ginny walk through the big doors of the main building.
"Why are we here? The only people who has the luxury of staying in the main building are either honoured students or students with very rich families." Neo scoffed with a hint of jealousy laced in his statement while Ginny continues going upstairs.
"Well this is the address Nadia gave me, and she is from a rich family so that doesn't surprise me." Neo stops in his tracks with the new piece of information,
"And how do you know?"
"I said in the class yesterday, don't you remember? She and I met through our fathers and then we became friends." Neo felt like there is more to it,
"What does her family do?" Now, it's Ginny's turn to scoff,
"You don't want to know." They still continue down the hall with Ginny looking left and right, looking for the number that's written on the paper they're holding.
"Here we are. Number 38." they said as they knock on the door three times and then waiting for her to open the door. Ginny can't help but look around while Neo stands next to them bored.
"You know who's staying here don't you?" Neo rolls his eyes at Ginny's statement,
"No, but I feel like I know who're you going to say." he said with a sigh,
"Nefarious," they said with glee while Neo gives them a stare.
"And how do you know?" Ginny shrugs their shoulders,
"Just casually went the same direction as him." Neo give them a 'bullshit' look,
"You mean stalking him."
"No! Just going somewhere that happens to be here. That's all. And I don't know why you hate him so much anyway, all he does is his work, that's all." once they finished they hear quiet footsteps coming towards them to see a brunette girl wearing a school uniform obviously worn last night, completely askewed, messed up hair, pink lipstick smudges from her lips to her cheeks and carrying her shoes in her hands. She gives the two a nervous smile and quickly in her tiptoes trot past them while Neo gives Ginny a knowing look.
"That doesn't mean she came from his room." Ginny stutter as Neo knocks the door again but louder.
"What's taking her so long?" Neo muttered as the door opens to show Nadia in a long sleeved white dress and wet hair.
"Sorry, I was in a shower when you two knocked. Come in, come in. I'm just drying my hair." Ginny and Neo walks in to see how much space the room has. Ginny can't help but whistle.
"This place is swanky. So much space you can literally dance in here!" Nadia's face has gone red,
"I may have danced in here a couple of times. Mostly The Midnight, I love their music." she looks at Neo with a smile but Neo tries to appear interested in her rocks rather than her.
"I'm not a fan." he mutters, making Nadia drop her smile a little and walks away to start drying her hair.
" Nadie, let me do that, it'll be quicker." Ginny offered and Nadia's smile came back accepting the offer.
"Thanks." she said as she gives Ginny the hair dryer and kneels down in front of them so Ginny can start.
"So I was thinking of just showing you around the campus, where we can hang out like lounges and cafes, go out for lunch at the new burger place called 'E-Grill', heard really great things about it and start reading that book together for monday's class. Just a chill day." Nadia nods her head,
"That sounds great! And it will be nice to catch up as well. I really missed you." Ginny smiled and immediately hugs her from behind,
"And I miss you too!"
"Hot! Hot! Hot!" Nadia shouts when Ginny realised they're burning her with a hair dryer.
"Oh, sorry." Ginny says and continues to dry Nadia's hair.
While they are busy talking, Neo continues to look at the rocks, crystals and books on the desk to try and keep himself distracted away from the girl who he had an intimate dream with.
"Ok, all done!" Ginny exclaimed as Nadia gets up from the floor,
"Thanks Ginny," Neo looks at them starting to get a bit impatient.
"Great, can we go now?" Neo said rudely while Nadia looks a little upset by his reaction while Ginny looks annoyed.
"In a sec, I just need to do my hair." Neo scoffs,
"Why? We're just going to the campus" Ginny continues to give Neo an annoyed look,
"Nadia, don't listen to him, you just get ready while me and Neo wait for you outside, ok?" Nadia looks at Neo a little longer before turning to Ginny,
"Ok, it will be quick, I promise." Ginny waves their hand,
"Don't be silly, take all the time you need. We'll see you in a bit." they grab Neo's arm and drag him through the door as Nadia can't help but sigh.
Ginny closes the door then turns to Neo,
"What is your problem?" Neo looks at them questionably,
"My problem?"
"Yes. That was exceedingly rude of you. 'Can we go now?' Seriously?" Neo pinches at the bridge of his nose looking annoyed.
"Ginny, you are seeing her right? I just didn't think my best friend is friends with a goody two shoes. The goody two shoes who's interested in crystals that has no science behind it, constantly smiling and has a pencil case full of stinky gel pens and asked me to be my friend, ha! Who does she think she is, huh?" Ginny crosses they're arms,
"I'll tell you who she is. Someone who's interested in you, clearly. Why? I don't know because to me you are a whiny, egotistical little arsehole complaining about people not wanting to be with you and then someone comes here wanting to hang out with you and you push her away, and let her be interested in crystals or rocks or whatever, let her write in gel pens and after what she went through I'm glad to see her smile, so while I'm here you will get your stick out of your arse and try and enjoy yourself and who knows maybe when you decide to get to know her you'll be surprise." Neo shakes his head,
"But Ginny, she doesn't belong here. She's not evil."
"Honest question, who is truly evil? Who is truly good? And who says people from good side and people from evil side can't work things out? What we all just live under some mythical powerful entities where one embodies good and the other embodies evil and we all have to live in this black and white world that they create and have good and evil fight against each other forever and ever? In actuality Neo, good people do have a dark side and evil people do have a good side, I mean Brio seen you feeding a strange looking kitten that has been around." Neo looks at Ginny with wide eyes and looks around hoping no one hears them,
"Shut up! I will get in deep trouble if everyone finds out about that." Neo whispers then sighs,
"Ok, fine. I'll try and get to know her but I'm not promising anything of being closer to her. Although, she thinks we can be each other's assistants to help each other." Ginny becomes curious,
"What does she need help with?"
"Something about finding information about this purple crystal she has been hanging onto for a long time. I'll play along with her stupidity as long as I get her to help me with my plans for world domination." Neo said with a sinister smile while Ginny can't help but be a bit concerned,
"She still has that? The purple crystal?" Neo nods,
"Yeah, I take it you saw it?" Ginny was about to answer when they hear the door open, they turn to see Nadia coming out smiling at the both of them with curls in her hair and a white bow tied on the back of her head.
"Ready to go?" Nadia asked,
"Yep all set! You look so cute! Doesn't she Neo?" Ginny highly exclaimed as they link their arm with Nadia. She smiles brightly then look up at Neo to see him staring at her with his mouth agape. He clears his throat when he realised what he's doing,
"Yes. You look good." he said in a gruff voice looking embarressed when Nadia continues to smile.
"Thank you." she said softly as she walks past him with Ginny by her side talking to her. Neo stands behind as he's still remembering the dream he had, making him hit his head numerous to try and get the dream out of his head. He shakes his head and then jogs to catch up with Ginny and Nadia with only one thought in his head.
'I'm not attracted to her. I'm not attracted to her.'
I know The Midnight debut in 2016 not in the 80's but I can't help but feel like their music fits in with the vibe of the story. If you haven't listen to them I highly recommend them, starting with Los Angeles. I do hope you very much enjoy this chapter and keep reading 3
