CHAPTER 10
Eraser Head
It has been two days since he received his acceptance on U.A. but still had to go to their Middle School since they had to wait months before their graduation.
(A/N: I looked on the Internet saying that in late February they took the Entrance Exam, in early March got the acceptance card and started U.A. in April. Don't know how it works in Japan since I'm not local.)
The first thing in the morning they had to do once they reached their school's gates, the principal had called them (Junpei, Izuku and Katsuki) to his office, obviously congratulating them for them entering U.A. and giving a good name to the school.
"I can't believe that we have not one but three students from our school matriculating to U.A.!" Their principal congratulated gleefully as Izuku, Katsuki, and Junpei were standing in front of him. "I mean, for Bakugo and Takahashi to go there it was a fact since they are prodigies but to Midoriya, it's a miracle! I hope you bring up a good journey on your careers!"
Junpei looked neutral on the situation, Katsuki was glaring furiously at Izuku and Izuku simply accepted the compliment with a small smile.
Later on, Junpei had to pretend that he was going elsewhere giving Katsuki the chance to lead him elsewhere from the spectators' eyes, and Junpei following them stealthily.
"What dirty tricks did you use to get in, huh?" Katsuki demanded, grabbing Izuku by the collar. Izuku simply stared back at him unfazed. "'The first student from his school to go to U.A.' apart from Junpei to go there, my future plan has already been torn to pieces. I told you to go somewhere else!"
Izuku suddenly grabbed Katsuki's hand and twisted it to leave his collar alone.
"Kacchan…" Izuku started, his voice not showing fear but firm calm. "There is someone who told me 'You can be a hero'. That it was because I had somebody that helped to become who I am today and the effort I showed to survive. So I won't be hindered to become what I dreamed to become!"
Katsuki recoiled in surprise but abated quickly returning him a glare and growl.
Izuku simply walked passed him and returned to class not before noticing a third person waiting for him at the corner.
"Jukkun." He muttered.
Junpei simply gave him a smirk and thumb up and went on their days until graduation. There were fewer physical fights between them; he could occasionally see Katsuki glaring at Izuku which he ignored. But that wouldn't let him get worried for him; Izuku was a different person which was all because of him. He was proud of what he did.
(One Month Later - U.A. High School Entrance)
After graduation, the group continued chatting through messages and meetings on weekends or holidays. But that was rarely since both Tenya and Momo were from prestigious and elite schools which they had their time busy, Ochako had some problems occurred but she assured them that it was fine, Itsuka had to prepare to look for a way to live closer to U.A. and Hitoshi couldn't come since he had prepared to make or something.
But it was high time that they reunited at U.A.
"Sorry, we are late!" Izuku called, running with Junpei behind.
Ochako, Momo, Tenya, Itsuka and Hitoshi were waiting for them at the entrance with their backpacks.
"You were not!" Ochako assured him. "We just got here!"
"But we were-" Tenya started before Hitoshi elbowed softly to him.
'Is it me or Hitoshi looks a little buffer since the first time I saw him?' Junpei thought, wondering what happened to him in a short time they met.
"So what brings you with those muscles, Lazy-Eyes?" He joked good-heartily.
Hitoshi snorted at the nickname. "Apart from that I've been trying to train and improve my Quirk; nothing much."
"Oh?" Izuku perked up in interest. "So who's training you Shinso-kun?"
"That's a secret!" He declared with finality and Junpei could feel that there was a smug attitude there, but he dismissed it.
"Alright, alright, if we're finished with it…" Itsuka interrupted. "Has anybody seen which class are we all?" Everyone shook their head. "So shall we open up together?"
In everyone's agreement, they took out their class assignment and put it in the center.
"On the count of three." Itsuka started. "One. Two. Three!"
When everyone opened their letter, the original class 1-A plus Junpei were assigned together as for Itsuka had class 1-B and Hitoshi had class 1-C.
"Oh, come on!" Itsuka whined. "How come Shinso and I are in different classes as you guys?"
"There, there…" Ochako tried to comfort her patting her shoulder.
"I already knew that I was going to be in General Studies." Hitoshi sighed before smirking. "But that doesn't mean I'm going to get behind on you guys."
"Then we shall go to our respective classes at once!" Tenya said taking command at front.
Junpei lacked back to comfort Itsuka.
"Don't feel so bad Itsuka. At least we are all together this time, right?"
Itsuka nodded slowly. "Yeah, but I wanted to at least be with you guys. I read that this year U.A. was going to put 2 more students for class A and B so I thought that I was going to be at least with one of you guys and not alone." She said, surprising completely Junpei.
Having twenty-two students instead of only twenty for class A and B? That didn't happen when he read and watch the series. What happened that they suddenly added four students in Heroism?
Shaking off the thoughts at the moment, Junpei's attention went to Itsuka again. "Well, try to shake it off at lunch."
Itsuka gave him a flat look. "So it is always food you're thinking." She then shook her head with a smile. "But alright, I'll see you guys later."
Junpei, Izuku, Ochako, Momo, and Tenya went to their respective classes as for Itsuka and Hitoshi went to theirs.
"Man, it's too bad that Itsuka won't be with us," Ochako said sadly.
"It can't be helped, Uraraka-san," Tenya stated. "I do think that the U.A. had thought of the students' skill and intelligence to put us like this!"
"I do hope that Kendo-san doesn't get into trouble," Momo said walking beside them.
The duo childhood friends weren't talking much since it was evident that they wouldn't be in the same class together. Yet, they'll see her daily… for most of their lives.
"You worried that Suka isn't going to be with us?" Junpei asked his childhood friend.
"Kind of, but it's not like we won't see her," Izuku answered warmly.
Junpei watched in silence before snorting in amusement. "Says the guy that cried out because she went to another prefecture even though she said that she'll meet us later, yeah, you know what I'm saying." He teased enjoying the flustered red-beet Izuku as he was trying to hide inside his hands.
"You said that you won't say it Jukkun…" Izuku mumbled between his hands in embarrassment.
"Don't worry about it. At least they didn't hear it." Junpei assured as the others were on their conversation while making their way to their classroom.
At last, they had reached their classroom's doors, which was huge (literally), and were together at the doors.
"It's huge…" Ochako remarked watching in amazement at the doors of their classroom, the others agreeing with a nod or hum.
"It is remarkably made for those students with Quirks that makes them bigger, nothing else for the U.A. to think for their students!" Tenya claimed thought Junpei didn't think it would be because of that.
They entered the classroom and saw that there were some students seated on their seats. Some students hadn't arrived yet though there it was Katsuki sitting on his desk, resting while putting his feet on the desk in a leisurely manner.
Tenya quickly noticed his actions and went straight to him.
"Don't put your feet on the desk!" Tenya demanded with his special hand gestures.
"Huh?" Katsuki's answer was the typical snarl.
"Don't you think that's rude to the U.A. upperclassmen and the people who made the desk?" He continued lecturing him, thought for Katsuki, it went from one ear to another.
"Nope." Katsuki shrugged non-interested. "What Junior High did you go to, you side character?"
"And there it goes Kacchan…" Izuku sighed from behind Junpei.
"I attended the Somei Private Academy. My name is Tenya Iida." He introduced himself to Katsuki.
"Somei? So you're damn elite, huh?" He smirked darkly yet for him pleasantly. "Looks like I'll have fun crushing you."
"'Crushing'?" Tenya sputtered in shock and disbelief. "That's cruel! Do you truly aim to be a hero?"
Junpei sighed noting the tense atmosphere inside the class. So, he did interrupt. "Alright, you two, no need to make the room tenser than it was."
Katsuki's response was narrowing his eyes and growling. "Shitty-Eyes."
"You two know each other?" Tenya asked, a little taken back for Katsuki's attitude.
"Yeah, kind of, we were childhood friends," Izuku admitted. "So, we know him he knows us, just like that."
Just at the moment, a red-haired guy walks towards Junpei. "Hey, Takahashi!"
Junpei pretended not to recognize him; of course, he knew it was Eijiro Kirishima. You couldn't even mistake him if you were paying attention to his facial features, such as his scar above his right eye and sharp teeth.
"Who are you?" He asked making Eijiro face-vault.
"Wh-What?! How could you-! Ah, right, the hair… I should have thought through it…" He muttered to no one but himself. "Let's try again, I'm Eijiro Kirishima. You know the guy you saved during the practical exam!"
"Oh yeah! Kirishima! How are you?! You were hard to be recognized with your hair!"
"It's because it is dyed." A female voice answered. Or more likely the voice's owner was the pinkette in hair and skin.
"Mina!" Eijiro said bringing the attention of the pinkette. "I told you it didn't have to be mentioned!"
"Sorry, Kirishima! But it was hard not to laugh when you were different from two months ago!" She shook her head with a small smile before turning her attention to Junpei. "I'm Mina Ashido, nice to meet you!"
"I'm Junpei Takahashi, nice to meet you too Ashido-chan!" He smiled at her. She was one of the favorite characters the girls loved; he was quite impressed that the way she was depicted was in truth spectacular. The energetic and kind-hearted girl is quite heart-warming.
"I heard from Kirishima that you dropped down the zero-point villain in your battleground!" Mina said bringing attention except for the already known group. "It's kind of cool!"
"Yeah!" Eijiro agreed. "You should have seen him punching the air and making a hole on it! It was so MANLY!"
"It was nothing." Junpei dismissed it nonchalantly. "It wasn't really special about that."
The silence in the classroom was welcoming as they could even hear a pin being dropped to the ground. The others, which are Izuku, Ochako, Tenya, and Momo, were quite stunned but weren't much surprised by it.
"Wh-What do you mean 'it wasn't really special' about that?!" Eijiro shouted in disbelief. "You just made a hole on that giant-faux-villain! Your Quirk must be awesome!"
"Oh, but it wasn't." Izuku cut in bringing various varying widen eyes. "It was mostly pure strength in it. That ain't how Jukkun's Quirk works!"
Eijiro had his mouth opened with a slight twitch which Junpei was a little worried about how he was acting but before he could say something Eijiro cut him first shouting. "THAT'S AWESOME! THAT'S SO MANLY!"
It may have been quite loud since most of them had put their hands on their ears.
"Alright, alright, you didn't need to shout out like that!" Junpei said while massaging his ears with his pinky finger.
"Anyways…" Ochako cut in trying to change the topic of conversation. "I wonder if today's just the entrance ceremony and orientation. I wonder what our teacher's like? Aren't you nervous?" She wondered, in excitement as Izuku wondered too, kind of shyly embarrassed by her being too close.
"Yeah, I do wonder who will teach us." Tenya agreed.
"Go somewhere else if you want to play at being friends." A stoic tone could be heard at the entrance of the classroom. The students that were standing in front of the door turned to see a man inside a yellow sleeping bag which noted how deadbeat the man was.
The man inside continued. "This is the Hero Course." He stated before taking out a juice inside the sleeping bag and drinking it.
There was a stunned silence trying to understand who the man is and what in the world's god fucking knowledge was he doing on the ground. Except for Junpei, he was most amazed how tired the man looked like and he had thought that it was exaggerated but it wasn't.
"SOMETHING'S HERE?!" The student except some of them bellowed in shock.
'At first glance, he doesn't look like much…' Junpei thought, checking on their teacher. 'But he has an aura of 'don't fuck with me' and he is really a professional hero.'
The man got out of his sleeping bag and continued. "Okay, it took eight seconds before you were quiet. Time is limited. You kids are not rational enough."
Junpei cocked an eyebrow at him. "Hm, you must be our teacher if you're here on our first day."
"Teacher?!" Izuku questioned in disbelief looking between Junpei and their teacher. "Which means, that person's a pro hero, too? But I've never seen a hero who looked that worn out before." He mumbled trying to come up who was he.
"I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa, nice to meet you." He said with a tired tone.
"Homeroom teacher?!" Everyone gasped except Junpei, Katsuki and some others that preferred not to question who he is.
"It's kind of sudden but put this on and go out onto the field." From his sleeping bag, he took out a P.E. (Physical Education) outfit and went outside the classroom.
Everyone blinked for a few seconds before obliging what their homeroom teacher ordered.
(U.A. – Physical Education Grounds)
Everyone students were gathered once changed to their outfit and they were standing in front of Shota.
"A Quirk assessment test?!"
Ochako quickly raised her hand. "What about the entrance ceremony or the orientation?" She asked in dread and confused which some of her colleagues were in agreement.
"If you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events," Shota answered strictly getting various gasps. "U.A.'s selling point is how unrestricted its school traditions are. That's also how the teachers run their classes."
Junpei could hear some of his colleagues gulp nervously but nevertheless, he was in front of the man who took seriously his job. It wasn't going to be child's play with him as their homeroom teacher.
"You kids have been doing these since Junior High, too, right?" Shota said as he took out his phone and showed them the screen. "Physical fitness tests where you weren't allowed to use your Quirks. The country still uses averages taken from results from students not using their Quirks. It's not rational. Well, the Ministry of Education is procrastinating."
Everyone nodded comprehending what Shota just tried to do as he looked around before noting one person which ranked first in the Entrance Exam: Junpei Takahashi and tossed the ball he was holding to him.
"Takahashi, how far could you pitch a softball in Middle School?" He asked though it could have felt it as a demand.
"Hmm…" Junpei thought for a moment crossing his arms and shutting his eyes. "105 meters."
Everyone had their eyes widen and mouth hanging onto their jaws as they heard him say it. Shota was quite impressed through the stoic facial expression was quite amusing for Junpei not to notice a slight twitch on his mouth. Izuku stayed quiet though he was kind of recalling those nostalgic days when everyone hung their jaws onto the ground and their eyes bulging out of their eye sockets.
"Tsk, show off," Katsuki said looking to the other way. He couldn't have win Junpei since his maximum was 73 meters (originally 67 meters) but he couldn't win him no matter how much he tried to swing the damn ball.
"Then, try doing it with your Quirk. You can do whatever you want as long as you stay in the circle. I've been told you have to do it twice, so hurry up. Give it all you've got." He explained lazily, giving some questionable thoughts on the students of why he should do it twice.
'Twice? Ah, the principal could have been received my Quirks' abilities notes and given it to the other teachers. So they already know that I have two Quirks. That principal Nedzu is quite intelligent for someone who looks like a hybrid.' He thought amused. 'Well, since they had asked for it, I should first do it with my eyes.' Within last words, his eyes started to light up surprising everyone except those who already knew it.
"Wh-What's wrong with his eyes?"
"Holy shit!"
"My god…"
Suddenly, purple-indigo energy formed around the ball and suspended from his hand.
"Well, I haven't thrown anything before so this is going to be my debut at throwing." He looked at the sky, watching the endless world and the ball started moving around him.
The others started to pay attention to the scene including Shota who was focusing on Junpei attentively.
The ball started to speed up around Junpei, beginning to form a blurry air circle and before anyone could wonder what he would do, the ball shot up to the sky and Junpei stood up smirking and putting his hands on his pockets.
The students watched the ball fly away before it got sucked in the endless skies and disappeared from their sights.
"Hm." Shota looked at his phone and was quite impressed with the score. "I'll show your score once you have done your second one." He said, tossing the second ball to Junpei.
Junpei watched at the sky quietly thinking about something and later smirked. Izuku noted that and thought this was going to be something unexpected but rather to say something; he kept quiet watching what his childhood friend would do.
He stood around the circle in a pitching-like pose and threw it leisurely. Though the word 'leisurely' could have been wronged since the ball flew fast and got blurry which nobody could have looked well while the ball flew up the sky.
Before Junpei could have spoken, a white cloth shot past the student and grabbed his arm startling every student at the sudden interaction.
"It is something wrong, Aizawa-sensei?" Junpei asked which noted the lack of fear or worry. Any intelligent person would have thought that he had done it on purpose.
Shota's eyes narrowed dangerously, watching if the student in front of him was being serious or not. "I don't know what you're playing at but we, teacher of U.A., had seen your actions during the Entrance Exam and your actions here don't show your full strength. Didn't you hear our school's motto? Go beyond Plus Ultra? So you either do it right or I can guarantee that you won't pass this."
'Threatening the student? That is a play that can be played both.' Junpei thought but relented to do it. "Alright, Aizawa-sensei, I was just testing the ball. It is different from lifting the ball with my mind than holding it. I'll do it right this time."
Shota continued watching him but left him for now. He tossed him another ball at Junpei and stayed on the sidelines.
This time Junpei stood in the middle of the circle and touched his support equipment. Izuku and Katsuki noted that once the support equipment came off his arms Junpei's muscles bulged a little.
"Hm, much better, though I should keep using them before something happens in the future until I can control my strength." Junpei mused to himself.
Izuku and Katsuki were waiting in anticipation since it was the first time in years they had seen Junpei without his support equipment. Ever since they had seen him with his new support equipment, his strength varied from simple things to hardest activities they had seen him done. And now, they were going to see him without his full-strength without being hindered. They kept quiet but the mouth twitched into a smile and smirk.
Junpei started stretching his arms before preparing himself. He first up rolled his sleeves, he could have taken off the top of his outfit but he had thought that Aizawa-sensei wouldn't let him do it so if the sleeves get shredded even being rolled up, it ain't his fault.
'Let's get to it!' Junpei thought before starting pitching seriously.
FWOOOOOOSH!
The air around Junpei once he had thrown it obscured the ground with dirt and everyone had to block their sights at the sudden dirt-air. Once the air got cleaned up, they had seen the ground around Junpei cleaned up and they could barely see the ball disappearing into the sky.
Shota looked dumbfounded for a second before composing himself and seeing his score. His eyes widened for a moment watching the three scores he had taken from him. Though the second throw was not expected, it had granted him quite a distance. If he could hold back that much, he should reconsider how he should teach Takahashi from now on.
"Awesome!" Eijiro bellowed in amazement. The others also looked surprised and awe at the shown display of their colleague.
"You should have done it since the beginning and not holding back," Shota said earning various attention to him. "Know your own maximum first." He raised his phone showing three different scores. "That is the most rational way to form the foundation of a hero."
The first throw, which was impressive, had shown them that it scored 1375m. The second throw, though Shota was angry at first, he had to be sure he was seeing good since Junpei's throw was lazy and unskilled but it had shown he could throw at 1579m. And finally, the serious throw he had seen him done, had done him questioning that he could do much more than he showed… it being at 2773.53m.
(A/N: There is a hidden joke inside.)
Shota could almost sweat at the displayed scores. But rendered to do or say anything that could show something on the student. He will continue to keep an eye on his students, seeing if they are worthy to be heroes or not; just as he had done it before.
"Are… are those really…? Seriously?!" A blonde with a black lightning-shaped streak on his hair gasped in disbelief.
"It looks fun!" Mina said delighted that they could use their Quirk on the assessment. And with what they had seen Junpei done, they should do it better. "You were right Kirishima; he wasn't really to scoff at!"
"We can use our Quirks as much as we want! As expected from the Hero Course!" A black-haired guy with tape-shaped elbows cheered.
'Aaaaand they fucked up…' Junpei thought with a sweatdrop dropping on the back of his head. But he had expected them to say it since they, including him, were simply teenagers.
"'It looks fun,' huh?" Shota's voice could have made every student present shiver, Junpei included, its voice has shown him that he wasn't really kidding around and was being totally serious!
"You have three years to become a hero." He continued his mouth started to form an evil and sadistic smile. "Will you have an attitude like that the whole time?"
'God, seeing his smile like that while being on the other side was normal but seeing it in person, that's another story!" Junpei thought, gulping slowly his nervousness down.
"Alright, whoever comes in the last place in all eight tests will be judged to have no potential and will be punished with expulsion!" Shota stated making everyone, except Junpei and maybe Momo and some others, their eyes.
"HUH?!" Everyone shouted in terror.
'Threatening his students with expulsion… nothing else from Aizawa-sensei, but it brings some people to do their best so it's a win-win solution in my book!' Junpei thought with a smirk.
"We're free to do what we want about the circumstances of our students," Shota explained raising his bangs to show his threatening eyes. "Welcome to U.A.'s Hero Course!"
Junpei noticed that Izuku was slightly twitchy but his face expressed determination so he shouldn't worry at him.
Nevertheless, that doesn't mean to worry for others; that being Ochako.
"The last place will be expelled? But it's the first day of school! No, even if it wasn't the first day of school, this is too unfair!" Ochako yelped in distress. Of course, everyone else agreed with her.
"Natural disasters, big accidents, and selfish villains." Shota counted and continued. "Calamities whose time or place can't be predicted. Japan is covered with unfairness. Heroes are the ones who reverse those situations. If you wanted to go talk with your friends at Mickey D's after school too bad." He shrugged without care. "For the next three years, U.A. will do all it can to give you one hardship after another." He smirked putting his index finger on the air. "Go beyond, Plus Ultra. Overcome it with all you've got." He challenged his students.
Tenya grabbed the canteen on his belt and slurped the juice. 'The pressure is on… So this is U.A.'s 'baptism'… The pinnacle of hero training… No choice but to give it my all!'
Katsuki simply accepted the challenge and started stretching his arms. 'I'll show them that I'm going to be Number 1 Hero.'
The others tried to compose themselves and prepare for the upcoming challenge.
"All right, the demonstration's over. The real thing starts now."
[TEST 1: 50-Meter Dash]
The first runners were Tenya Iida and Tsuyu Asui.
Both of the runners prepared themselves before the robot-referee shouted their start. Tenya used his Quirk: [Engine] on his calves and ran faster toward the finish line.
He got himself 3.04 seconds.
"Well, he's like a fish in the water," Shota commented. "It'll be worth seeing what others do."
Tsuyu came next while croaking and got herself 5.58 seconds.
The next runners were Ochako Uraraka and a blond guy with a massive tail, Mashirao Ojiro.
'Lighten up my clothes and shoes…' Ochako thought while touching her clothes and shoes.
Both started at the same time but Mashirao used his tail to give him a boost and got himself 5.49 seconds and Ochako got 7.15 seconds.
'Oh, but that's faster than I was in Junior High!' She thought in relief.
The next runners were Mina Ashido and a flamboyant French-guy, Yuga Aoyama.
"Hm. Everyone, you're not being creative enough." He said simply turning his back on the track while Mina got down preparing to run. "I'll show you what it's like…" He jumped a little before shooting a laser from his waist-belt. "…to be allowed to use your Quirk!"
It could have been cooler, in Junpei's thought, if he had flown all over the track but Yuga had his limit stopping in the middle as Mina passed by him. Yuga quickly got up and shot again and reached the finishing line, getting himself 5.51 seconds while Mina had 5.02 seconds.
"If I shoot for more than a second, I get a stomachache." He admitted with a smug, even though his clothes were dirty.
'What the heck?' Katsuki's future squad thought in unison.
'Looking at the upper limit of your Quirks and the room for growth in each result, it becomes clear what you can and can't do.' Shota thought, making counts of the students' Quirk's pros and cons.
Next up, it was Momo Yaoyorozu and an invisible girl, Toru Hagakure.
Momo instantly created jumping propulsion getting herself 4.49 seconds as for Toru got 6.59 seconds since she couldn't use her Quirk is this event.
The next runners were Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo.
'That will connect to the creativity needed for you to survive.'
"Explosion Speed!" Katsuki yelled using his explosions onto his palms, giving him some boost and trying to give himself some distance from Izuku. But that didn't happen since Izuku had been trained under Grandmaster Arata Kongōseki for years and Yagi Toshinori's harsh training for which he could speed up without using [One for All].
Katsuki noticed that Izuku was leveling him so he pushed a little more and passed the finishing line getting himself 3.59 seconds (originally 4.13 seconds) as Izuku got himself 4.10 seconds (originally 7.02 seconds).
Katsuki watched his smoking hands. "When I use both hands, the force disperses…" He then glared at Izuku. "Deku…"
Izuku, at the moment, was panting a little but that didn't bother him at all, he was quite energetic at the moment which he'll have to do it without using [One for All] yet.
'At least I would be able to see the others' Quirks and later write it down. There are going to be seven more tests, so this gives me much time to analyze the pros and cons of their Quirks.' Izuku thought in wonder. 'Maybe I could give them some tips or ideas.'
"Okay, next up Rikido Sato and Junpei Takahashi," Shota said earning Izuku's attention.
Junpei stood next to Rikido Sato, the guy which his Quirk: [Sugar Rush] increases his strength five-fold for three minutes when digesting sugar but in exchange for his cognition functions gradually drops. At the moment, Rikido was gulping down a small pack of sugar (10 gram).
"Ready…" The robot referee raised its arm, the two students getting into position. "Go!"
KABLAM! FWOOOOOSH!
A sudden impact surged on the starting line and everyone who wasn't doing anything blocked their sights again and waited for the air to clean up.
Once the air cleaned up, the students and Shota saw that at the end of the line Junpei Takahashi was waving his hand to shake the dust off the air and Rikido Sato sitting on the ground, a little dazed and confused.
Shota glanced at the robot-referee to see what their scores were.
"Junpei Takahashi: 2.59 seconds. Rikido Sato: 3.42 seconds." It said earning some shock of the time. Tenya was a little for hurt on his pride since he was now the second-fastest of all.
"Dammit, I shouldn't have used that much strength." Junpei mused earning Tenya's attention. "A little more and I would tear off my muscles because of that."
'Oh, so this was his first time using it. It was a little hurtful on my pride but I should train more after school.' Tenya promised himself to do it better.
'There…' Junpei thought as he glanced at the corner of his eyes. 'I was kind of worried that Tenya would be angered that I won against him in speed but that little lie should render him to do something drastic.'
He then walked toward Rikido. "Hey, I'm sorry that I dragged you."
"Huh?" Rikido questioned in confusion. "Ah, no worries, but it just came out of nowhere so I got a little spooked by it; nothing to worry about."
Junpei gave him a hand to stand up and Rikido accepted it.
"Still, if I hadn't grabbed you by your ankle you would have been blown off." He said as he had grabbed really by the ankle when the sudden burst surged. Just as he was reaching the finishing line, he loosened his grip and let Rikido roll out toward the finishing line.
Junpei and Rikido spread out and Junpei reunited with Izuku.
"That was good Jukkun." Izuku cheered.
"Yeah, but I did put too much force in it," Junpei admitted. "Also, you hadn't used your Quirk yet, something wrong?"
"A-Ah! No, no, no, there is nothing wrong with it!" He reassured. "I'm still trying to adjust it but I worry that I would do something painful."
"Maybe I can give you some tips?" Junpei suggested, trying not to sound too direct and obvious.
"You think?" He shrugged. "Well, alright, what can you tell me?"
"Simple; you maybe are thinking it too much," Junpei said earning a confused look on Izuku. "Let me try again, you think too much on how to use them. Think like muscle memories we did with Grandmaster Arata: don't think it and just let your instincts do it."
Izuku's eyes sparkled in realization forgetting the basics as his face reddened in embarrassment. "O-Oh… I should have thought about it… hehehe…"
"You really are the terming of being intelligent yet stupid at the same time, Izu." Junpei chuckled at his childhood friend's embarrassment.
"You're so mean…"
"Anyways…" Junpei said getting serious again. "I use my Quirk thinking that each limb has to make their job and reach to the end; which means the hand and feet." Izuku nodded, taking mental notes of it. "If I were to use my strength in one sudden instance on my hands, it would break. So what I had in mind is that when I use my Quirk, I use it sending tiny bits on my strength through my arms to reach my hands."
"I see."
"So, let's think it as a game," Junpei suggested.
"A game?" Izuku raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"When you get a lot of stat points, you don't put all the points in one category, right? We distribute it to balance it out." Izuku nodded understanding what his childhood friend is saying. "So when you use your Quirk, try to think as a medium to reach your hands."
"I get it. Now I get it. Thanks, Jukkun!"
"Anytime!" Junpei grinned.
Just without them knowing, the Number 1 Hero, All Might, overheard the conversation completely in a surprise.
'Oh my God! He managed to help him develop and control [One for All] with a game system simulation! I can understand since I have a strengthening Quirk as he does, but this is the first time I heard using that kind for example.'
[TEST 2: Grip Strength]
"Just as Jukkun said... Just concentrate and feel the strength of traveling my arms slowly..." With that Izuku managed to use both his strength and his Quirk to grip tightly the machine. He got himself a 356kg (originally 56kg). "I-I did it! Uff, that was harder than I thought it should be. Maybe, I should continue using the Quirk constantly for me to get used to."
"Deku-kun! How did you go?" Ochako called with Tenya and Momo together.
"I got 356kg but I think I could have done it better." He chuckled sheepishly.
"Nonsense Midoriya-kun!" Tenya disagreed. "As heroes, we start with struggles but through training in mind and body, we shall accomplish these tests with ease!"
"I agree with Iida-san, Izuku." Momo agreed with Tenya. "Not all people can do it well at the beginning so we can't expect that we could do well at the start of our journey!"
"I see." Izuku sighed in relief. "So how did you guys go?"
"Well, I got myself 103kg," Tenya answered.
"I got, uh, 39kg… hehehe…" Ochako chuckled melancholically.
"I did use my Quirk to create a pressure machine and got myself 485kg," Momo said earning an awed look of the others.
"That's awesome you guys!" Izuku awed. "But I wonder how others are doing?"
"Amazing!" A guy's voice brought his attention to where Izuku and the others watched a guy with tape-like elbows, Hanta Sero, a midget with purple-colored balls on his head, Minoru Mineta, and the tallest one with multiple arms wearing a mask, Mezo Shoji. "540 kilograms? What are you, a gorilla? Oh, an octopus?"
"Octopuses are sexy," Minoru commented with so much lust that even the women present would want to snap his neck.
"Hey, Takahashi!" Eijiro called as Izuku turned to see how his childhood went. "I got myself 345 kilograms. How much did you-?"
SNAP! CRAA-AACK!
"H-Huh?" Eijiro voiced everyone's confusion.
Izuku sighed expecting the sound of broken machines as the others were shocked at the cracking sound.
"Hm, is this normal?" Junpei asked holding two machines, one being on his hand and the other being levitated by his eyes, making everyone dropdown.
"IT AIN'T!"
"How much do you think he got himself, Aizawa-sensei?" Ochako asked having a sweatdrop trailing down her head.
"Seeing that Takahashi broke down the machines… maybe he had been placed over the current numbers." Shota answered slightly impressed.
[TEST 3: Standing Long Jump]
Starting, Katsuki stood at the beginning of the sandbox and used his Quirk to clean the sandbox all the way.
The next one, Junpei had to do it twice. The first one had 'simply' jumped all over the sandbox and landed onto the other side, as for the second one he used his telekinesis to levitate all over the sandbox.
Ochako used her Quirk to float all over the sandbox, so she cleaned the test.
Tenya couldn't use his Quirk since it wasn't allowed for a run at the beginning of the sandbox so he got 25 meters.
Momo created a trampoline and used the momentum to jump off 30 meters.
And Izuku got 29 meters using a little of [One for All] and training of Grandmaster Arata.
[TEST 4: Repeated Side Steps]
Minoru Mineta was lucky to enter the Hero Course. He had dreamed to be popular and get himself a harem. Mostly his female classmates were beautiful women that he would enjoy getting with if he ever got a chance. He could show off meaning that he could do better than others.
This test had been his best assurance to be noted by the others. Putting two of his ball hairs, or his Quirk: [Pop off], he could bounce side by side without much effort. Yes, it was a good plan himself he thought.
But… there is a little problem with it…
The problem that surged was that the bluette guy that had been noted by the others was sidestepping in a blurry manner that all other students were gaping at the display, himself included.
And when the time was up, he had stopped and was sweating and panting lightly.
'Sidestepping like that and not being heavily tired at all is a total cheat!' Minoru fumed in anger and envy. He should do better and show off when the time comes. 'Just you wait.'
"Hey Jukkun, here." Izuku tossed him a bottle of water.
"Thanks, Izu," Junpei said before opening the bottle and gulped down all the water. "Ah, much better, haven't done this extreme since Grandmaster Arata made us run fifty laps around the dojo for 'fun'." He shook his head with a smirk. "That man must be a demon but it gives us promises."
"Don't remind me. That day my mom complained to him that I came back with aches all over my over and couldn't move at all!" Izuku complained jokily. "Sheesh, sometimes I wonder if he ever tries to kill his students or something."
"Like I said…" Junpei flexed his arm. "It gives us promises."
Izuku rolled his eyes at his childhood friend's antics. "Anyways, how did you do?"
"Hm, I dunno." He turned at the counting robot-referee. "How did I do?"
"Junpei Takahashi: 115 steps."
"There you have it."
"Hm, well, it's good," Izuku admitted. "I just did 95 steps."
"Nowhere had I got it but it is progress."
[TEST 5: Ball Throw]
Since Junpei had done it at the beginning, he had been excluded from this test. Not that he really cared.
The first thrower was Katsuki. Obviously, for Junpei and Izuku, they expected him to show up first and show off his strength and what he calls 'Alpha Instincts' on others.
Katsuki was already angry that Junpei had managed to beat him up when they simply threw it without their Quirks and now that he has seen him do it with both of his Quirks, he had promised himself to defeat him one day and show him who's better.
He walked toward the circle and prepared himself for the throw. He breathed in deeply and before he could throw it, he let his words spread his actions.
"DIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" An explosion surged at the palm of his hand where he was holding the ball, making the ball fly away through the air like a rocket.
As everyone else was totally dumbfounded at his wording, except Junpei. '…die?'
The ball flew for a nice seconds before the force diminished and started to fall.
Shota looked at the screen of his phone and watched quite impressed but not showing completely. He turned to the others to see that Katsuki got 705.2m.
'Tsk, not enough power behind it…' Katsuki clicked his tongue in irritation.
The next up was Ochako, which using her Quirk, threw the ball to the air… passing to the atmosphere… aaaaand it disappeared completely.
Shota showed her score and it showed being 'Infinity'.
"That's amazing! She got "Infinity"!" The blond with a black lightning-shaped streak, named Denki Kaminari, wowed with widening eyes.
"That was impressive, Ochako-chan." Junpei whistled, impressed by seeing it in person.
"Sure it was." Izuku nodded in agreement.
"Aw shucks, you guys! Don't need to compliment me much!" Ochako got embarrassed completely for the compliments.
"It was nicely done using your Quirk in that way, Uraraka-san!" Momo said.
"It was, indeed!" Tenya agreed.
"Thank you, guys!" Ochako said earning various smiles from her new friends.
"Next thrower: Momo Yaoyorozu." The robot-referee called her.
"Oh, it seems it is my turn," Momo said. "Then I shall go." She finished as she walked toward the circle.
Once Momo got inside the circle, she created howitzer cannon and placed the ball inside. Aiming for the sky, she pulled the trigger and…
BOOM!
The ball shot out of the barrel of the cannon and flew out.
"Hm, nice shot," Junpei commented amused at the shooting.
Shota glanced at his phone and showed to the students. Momo got 4940m with that shot.
"Only 4940 meters?" Junpei questioned in confusion. "That's barely two-tenth of the total and I mean that a Howitzer-type cannon reach about 24.7km."
Everyone on the earshot watched him in confusion or awe at his explanation.
"You're right, Takahashi-san. But I had to use a minor version of it since I can't practically create something of that magnitude." Momo said earning various sighs of relief.
"Ah, I see." He nodded. "I wonder what will happen to it." He wondered with his arms crossed.
"Well, the Support Course could dismantle it and use its part for whatever they are going to use it," Shota answered coolly.
"Hmm, maybe so." Junpei agreed, already thinking that Mei would love to use its part for whatever 'Babies' she would build.
"Alright, next up, Izuku Midoriya," Shota called as Izuku nervously gulped.
"Wish me luck!" Izuku said before marching toward the circle.
"Good luck, buddy!" Junpei cheered.
"You can do it, Deku-kun!" Ochako added.
Momo felt that she shouldn't lose so she also cheered. "Do your best!"
Izuku stood inside the circle and breathed in and out, trying to suppress his nervousness. He did indeed train with [One for All] at the beginning but there were times that he had a difficult time using them as he could feel his bone and muscles tearing off so he subconsciously rendered to use them. He did train them until he could get up to 10% without breaking something.
And now, he had been given some tips from his childhood friend and was thinking of trying it.
Holding tightly the ball, he prepared himself to begin his throw.
"Wonder if Midoriya-kun is going to be okay." Tenya mused.
"Huh?" Katsuki cocked an eyebrow at him. "Of course not, he's just a Quirkless small fry, you know." He spat harshly.
Tenya raised his eyebrow in confusion. "I already know that Midoriya-kun was Quirkless. Are you not aware of what he did in the Entrance Exam?"
"Huh?"
Tenya, Ochako, and Momo looked at Katsuki with a worrisome expression as Junpei just looked at Izuku without caring Katsuki's sneering and mocking with a smug expression.
"Oh~ you'll see soon enough, Kacchan." He said smugly. "Come on, Izuku! Break a leg! (Figurative speech, not literal)"
Izuku could feel [One for All] rushing through his arms as in preparation for his throw, and when he was ready to throw it something mysterious happened. It was as if [One for All] deactivated itself and threw it normally reaching about 69 meters.
'Huh…? HUH?! Did I do something wrong? Why didn't [One for All] activate?' He wondered frantically.
Just then he noticed his homeroom teacher's gaze. His eyes were red as he activated his Quirk, his hair and scarf levitating through the air. But most of all, his eyes were centered at him.
"I thought you were reckless, but this is too much. That Entrance Exam was not rational enough. Even a kid like you was accepted."
"You… You erased my Quirk?" He babbled incoherently before his eyes widened in the realization of his teacher's, Shota Aizawa, identity when he noted the yellow goggles hiding under his scarf. "Those goggles… I see! You can erase other people's Quirk with your Quirk: [Erasure] just by looking at them. The Erasure Hero: Eraser Head!"
"Eraser? I don't know him." One of the students said aloud.
"I've heard of him. He's an underground hero." Another one informed.
Junpei stepped in and explained. "That's because Eraser Head rarely works during the day. He prefers working during the night as also to avoid the journalists and the press because he sees them as a hindrance. That is why he looks like he is about to bite the dust."
Everyone made an 'ah~' or 'oh~' sound as Shota was quite impressed that he was recognized even though he wasn't well known, although he wouldn't share the sentiment of the others.
In any case, he should continue watching Izuku as he was confused about the situation. "From what I can tell, you hardly used your Quirk, didn't you?"
Izuku held his tongue as he shouldn't protest anything against his teacher even though he would like to say otherwise.
"Hm…" Shota narrowed his eyes. "I tell you this, kid. Do you intend to become incapacitated or unable to help others as they have to save you?"
"Th-That's not my intention-" Izuku was cut off when Shota's scarf entangled him and dragged him closer to his face.
"Whatever your intention, I'm saying that's what those around you will be a force to do," Shota stated. "In the past, there was an oppressively passionate hero who saved over a thousand people by himself and created a legend." He explained which was talking about All Might. "Even if you have the same reckless valor, you'll just be decked and turn into a useless doll after saving one person."
Junpei nodded, agreeing with that. You can be a hero whenever you like but don't let others misuse you or else they leave you as if you were a broken toy.
"Izuku Midoriya. With your power, you can't become a hero." He said harshly but truthful. Izuku had to understand the real world as it is if they wanted to survive. Shota deactivated his Quirk and freed Izuku from his bindings. "I've returned your Quirk. You have two turns for the ball throw. Hurry up and get it over with."
"It looks like he received some advice." Tenya thought aloud since the others couldn't hear them talk other than Junpei knew what they were talking about since it was mostly an important part of Izuku's life.
"Probably just telling him he's expelled," Katsuki said dreaming it was the truth. Ochako and Momo looked at him if he was crazy or something.
"You know that ain't true!" Ochako retorted.
"Keep dreaming Kacchan…" Junpei sighed kneading the bridge of his nose.
Izuku prepared once again inside the circle and glanced at the ball on his hand. He had his share of struggle throughout the years, being Quirkless since he was a kid trained his body to its limits and did his best on learning the martial art skills on his dojo and others. He even analyzed other heroes' skills and techniques in a way if he could use it for his own.
It wasn't easy since most of them depended on their Quirks to do it but there were other heroes such as Death Arms or other heroes that depended to use their bodies. That way, he could train with steel mentality and think of new ideas and techniques for his own.
And now, given the advice of one of his closest friends, he had mustered to do something it would be painful yet it would show his homeroom teacher that he wasn't a pushover.
Shota watched at Izuku firmly. 'Will he incorrigibly prepare for an honorable defeat here by using all his strength, or become intimidated and leave this path on his own?' He thought before widening his eyes, not in surprise but for intimidation. 'No matter which he chooses, he has no potential if he takes that kind of idealism!'
'It is interesting how Aizawa-sensei acts on his student at first.' Junpei chuckled inwardly quite amused. 'Although, I suppose that even if his looks lack the idea of professionalism, his mind is 100% by-the-book attitude which he is a pro-hero at all. Well, he'll get quite a surprise at the moment that will be… quite amusing.'
Izuku started to raise his arm with the ball on hand and before he swung it, he took a big breath of air before shouting. "SMAAASH!" He concentrated the [One for All] onto the tip of his index finger.
KA-FWOOOOOSH!
With that, making the ball fly away with explosive action and sending it to the air.
Everyone, except Junpei, watched in awe as the ball continued flying through the air.
Shota watched surprised at the display and the ping of his phone made him look at the score which got 809.9 meters (originally 705.3 meters).
"Aizawa-sensei," Izuku called him which Shota's attention went to him. He clenched his fist without worrying about his finger. "I can still move!"
Shota smiled in shock and awe. "This kid…" He mumbled.
"He got over 800 meters?!"
"Finally, a hero-like record!" Ochako cheered happily raising her arms before glancing at the corner of her eyes at Junpei. "Well, excluding the impact you made." She mumbled.
Junpei made a dramatic hurtful expression. "Oh, how could you wound me like that Ochako-chan!"
"At least, it went well," Tenya commented before noticing the way Izuku was clenching his hand. "Well, except for the hand of course."
"It's not very stylish," Yuga said, still with his French-like expression.
Everyone else was commenting and complimenting Izuku's actions but the only one who didn't share the sentiment was Katsuki Bakugo.
He was completely baffled at what he just witnessed. He had thought that Izuku had lucked out with the old man's training and nothing else but to see him use a Quirk which he didn't have memories of him having, he was quite… dumfounded.
'Wh-What's with that power?! Everyone's Quirks manifest by the age of four. This is unthinkable! But in reality…' His mouth twitched in anger as his mind got enraged, and being blindly by his anger, he rushed toward him. "Hey! Tell me what's going on, Deku, you BASTARD!"
Tenya, Ochako, and Momo were about to interfere but Junpei had stopped them by raising his arm.
"What are you-?!" Tenya's word died out when suddenly Katsuki was wrapped by Shota's scarf, immobilizing him completely, also using [Erasure] to not let Katsuki use his [Explosion].
"What the-? These cloths are hard…!" Katsuki struggled to move as the binding were too strong to hold him tight.
"They're weapons for capture made of carbon fiber woven together with metal wire made of a special alloy," Shota informed and sighed. "Jeez… Don't keep making me use my Quirk over and over. I have dry eyes!" He stated.
"IT'S SUCH A WASTE SINCE HIS QUIRK IS SO AMAZING!" Every student yelled in unison as Junpei simply chuckled of how it was too funny.
Shota unbound Katsuki once he saw he was calm, though 'calm' wasn't the word but not trying to overpass his boundaries.
"We're wasting time. Whoever's next, get ready."
Izuku managed to get away from Katsuki and rejoin with Junpei, Ochako, Tenya, and Momo.
"Are you okay? Didn't you break your finger?" Ochako asked in worry.
"Do you need some medications for it? I can make some if you wish for." Momo offered.
Both of the girls were swarming over him which made him get embarrassed by it. Meanwhile, Junpei and Tenya watched at the sidelines, the earlier with an amused expression and the latter with caring expression.
"Guess my little advice worked!" Junpei smirked victoriously.
But for Katsuki, after being unbidden by Shota's clutch, clenched his fists tightly glaring with fury at Izuku.
'Until a while ago, he was just a pebble on the side of the road; A FUCKING PEBBLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!' He then turned to Junpei. 'And that all happened because of the Shitty-Eyes! He should have been helping ME instead of that fucking DEKU!'
Junpei had the sudden urge to scratch his ear for some unknown reason.
[TEST 6: Sit-Ups]
This test was most likely about endurance and speed. The guys that weren't much developed on their abs, couldn't endure up to forty-and-fifty; most cases between Junpei, Izuku and Katsuki were competing between the three of them which resulted in Katsuki finishing in Third with 68, Junpei in Second with 74 and Izuku at First with 77 (since Junpei let him get this one).
The girls were doing it more calmly since they didn't have to get pressured to do it but some of them did their best nonetheless.
[TEST 7: Seated Toe-Touch]
In this test, Momo and Mina were the best since they were flexible among all girls. Momo got 55cm and Mina got 52cm. The other girls were between 35 and 48.
Junpei noticed that Minoru was ogling them completely but he used the [Magic Eyes] part to move him away from the girls.
As for the guys, Tenya was the most flexible of all since he was a runner. Izuku and Junpei were also flexible for training in martial arts but their usage of legs wasn't much as Tenya does.
[TEST 8: Long-Distance Run]
And the final test had to be who had the most stamina among all, or at least smart enough of how to endure that kind of torture.
The first ones to bite the dust were Minoru, Toru, and Yuga since they were the weakest of the bunch. One by one there was less runner that was running since it was the 68th lap.
Of course, Tenya used his Quirk and maintained his run, Katsuki used his explosions to boost his speed, Izuku and Junpei had this kind of endurance since the days of their training with Grandmaster Arata, they had to run around the dojo dozens of times to get their stamina up to where they have it now.
But the one who won this test was Momo since she had created a scooter with solar energy and drove around the lap without much effort.
After finishing with all the tests, the students were reunited with Shota to give their scores.
"Okay, I'll quickly tell you the results. The total is simply the marks you got from each test. It's a waste of time to explain verbally, so I'll show you the results all at once." He sighed and pressed a button that a hologram appeared for the students to see.

"WHY?! WHY AM I GOING TO BE EXPELLED?!" Minoru, being the last placed student, shouted in tears which some of them were sympathetic to his frustration but the women weren't much since they preferred to him to be expelled since he was the pervert of the class.
"By the way, I was lying about the expulsion." Shota interrupted making everyone dumbfounded for a second, except Junpei and Momo. "It was a rational deception to draw out the upper limits of your Quirks." He continued grinning sadistically with his widen and dry eyes.
"WHAAAAAT?!" Most of the students who took seriously the threat were shocked at the confession. Tenya's glasses literally shattered, Ochako felt like a fool to be lied and Izuku… Izuku had the same previous but lessen when Junpei watched the series, he was laughing off inwardly.
"Of course that was a lie. It should've been obvious if you just thought it through." Momo said as if it was the obvious thing in the world.
"You should have told us, Momo-chan!" Ochako whined with teary eyes, having a half heart attack.
"I'm sorry; I thought you all were aware of it so I kept quiet," Momo admitted.
'I didn't notice…' Every other student thought in unison glancing at her.
"That was a little nerve-wracking, huh?" Hanta sighed in relief much like others mirrored.
"I'll take up the challenge anytime!" Eijiro said getting fired up.
"With that, we're done here. There are handouts with the curriculum and such in the classroom so when you get back, look over them." Shota dismissed the class for the day.
Izuku sighed in relief just as Shota stood in front of him, handing him a sheet of paper. "Midoriya. Though you didn't get hurt much, take this. Have the old lady fix you in the nurse's office." He advised him. "Tomorrow will be packed with even more rigorous tests. Prepare yourself." He finalized taking his moment to walk off.
Izuku sighed as he was relieved that he had gotten 4th place among all students of class A.
"Hey, you did well." Izuku turned his back to see his bluenette friend, Junpei.
"Yeah, thanks to you, Jukkun." He chuckled sheepishly scratching the back of his head. "I thought the expulsion was real." He confessed truthfully.
"As I said before…" Momo started with Ochako and Tenya next to her. "It was only a ruse for us to do better during the Quirk Assessment. The others wouldn't have put up much effort if Aizawa-sensei hadn't said that."
"Although, it was really about the expulsion," Junpei stated earning various shocked eyes from the people present. He then turned to Momo. "Momo-chan, have even heard the class that Aizawa-sensei took before us?" She shook her head in denial. "I do not blame you, you didn't know but the class Aizawa-sensei took had all expulsed without reason."
Another shocking statement that made them shiver in terror.
"B-But that's not possible!" Momo stuttered in disbelief. "I thought that Aizawa-sensei was just saying that to boost our morale of heroism!"
"What is right and wrong, Aizawa-sensei only did this to see how reality works," Junpei explained which made them silent. "Heroism ain't a children's play in which the heroes go victorious at the end without a scratch." He shook his head. "No, you may get hurt, you may get scared but most of all… you might die."
Ochako, Momo, and Tenya gulped nervously as the reality had placed upon them with Junpei's words. Izuku stayed quiet since he already knew what he meant, Grandmaster Arata was once a hero but had to retire because of his age and injury. Nevertheless, that didn't bring him down and he continued training and teaching others and show them that heroism isn't all fantasy.
"Now you understand that Aizawa-sensei is just showing us the reality of the path we choose." Junpei continued which the three of them nodded shakily. "I am not telling you guys to quit but to think through what you are about to walk into."
"I-I guess I must do m-my best!" Ochako stuttered but the determination behind wasn't hidden.
"It is just as Takahashi-kun said, we are no heroes if we quit now. We must continue the path we have chosen." Tenya stated with determination.
"I admit, I didn't think that this was the reality I was going to face. But you had opened our eyes in showing that we must get ready if we are to graduate." Momo said earning various nods.
"Great!" Junpei said with a smirk. "Because this is just the first step of our world so we mustn't quit while we are it!"
Unknown to them, Shota Aizawa had listened to their conversation from the beginning. It had moved him that some students knew how the world works. He has the responsibility to show and prepare them for the outcome or else he would fail as he had done before.
He made his way to the teacher's lounge just before someone stopped him.
"Aizawa-kun, you liar!" The booming voice wasn't unknown to Shota; he turned to see that the one responsible for his blockage was none other than All Might.
"All Might. So you were watching? Too much time on your hands?" He said in a disinterested tone.
"'A rational deception' you said? April Fools was last week." All Might joked. "You punished a whole class of last year's first-years with expulsion. You cut those judges to be without potential without hesitation. For a man like that to take back his words-?" He pointed at Aizawa with his finger. "That must be because you also felt the potential of that kid, right?"
Shota raised his eyebrow at All Might, noticing that he was mentioning about Izuku Midoriya. "'Also'? You seem to be supporting him quite a bit." He said nailing just as All Might flinched. "Is that how a teacher should be acting? His potential was not zero. That's all it was. I will always cut those without potential. There's nothing crueler than letting a dream end midway." He said with finality walking away from All Might.
"So you're being kind in your own way, huh, Aizawa-kun?" All Might sighed. "But we don't really get along after all."
(U.A. – Entrance Gates – After School)
Izuku sighed tiredly as he looked way worse to wear. Ochako, Tenya, and Momo were watching him with worry as it was different from when they started their classes. Hell, from Junpei's perspective, he looked worse when Grandmaster had demanded to excess their training which made every apprentice sweat their glands to nothing. He almost fainted if not for the well-developed mentality he had or else he would have died out.
"Are you alright, Deku-kun?" Ochako asked with worry which Momo mirrored.
"I'm… fine, just tired after realizing that I got fooled by Aizawa-sensei…" Izuku explained then sighed for the eight times.
"Come on, don't sigh like that. You'll grow older." Junpei joked trying to cheer the mood.
"Is your finger healed?" Tenya asked.
"Yeah, thanks to Recovery Girl. I got more tired after she healed me." Izuku answered, thankful for her treatment to work. "She said that her Quirk: [Heal] requires the stamina of her patients to work on the healing properties of the body. Thankfully, I was energetic this morning so it came to heal me well, or else it would have meant death."
"Death?!" Tenya said almost with terror but composed himself quickly. "But I see. That's good for Recovery Girl to be here or nobody in U.A. would have survived." He crossed his arms and cupped his chin. "I was really taken in by Aizawa-sensei. I even thought, "This is the best of the best" and such but I didn't think a teacher would encourage us with a threat."
"I did think so too." Momo agreed.
"I wondered where you guys were." A familiar voice sounded behind them which turned to be Itsuka.
"Hey, Suka, what's up?" Junpei waved at her.
"Don't you 'what's up' to me!" Itsuka pointed at Junpei with a twitchy eye. "I was wondering where you guys were since you weren't in the entrance ceremony and orientation. Where were you guys all day?"
The Class A laughed nervously watching elsewhere but Itsuka. Junpei was finally the one who confessed.
"Alright, before you say something, it wasn't our fault that we couldn't assist the entrance ceremony and orientation." He crossed his arms with a huff. "Blame our homeroom teacher; he decided to make us be in a Quirk Apprehension Test so we couldn't be there."
"At the beginning of the year, just before we begin our classes?" She asked incredulously.
"Yeah, Suka..." Izuku continued scratching his cheek. "We kind of got entangled with Shota Aizawa-sensei, also known as 'Eraser Head', and he wasn't really the type to take nonsense… so we simply went with it."
"You mean the Erasure Hero: Eraser Head?" She sputtered in disbelief. "Sheesh, you guys' luck is terrible."
"You don't say." Junpei rolled his eyes. "Who's the homeroom teacher of Class B?" He asked, obviously knowing the answer.
"Well, lucky for us, it is Sekijiro Kan, also known as the Blood Hero: Vlad King."
"He is a nice choice of teacher," Tenya admitted. "I heard that he has a caring attitude towards his students."
"Our teacher was too mean to us, Itsuka-chan," Ochako whined hugging her.
"There, there…" Itsuka patted Ochako's head in a sisterly manner. "If my assumption is right, did he threaten with expulsion?"
"Yeah, he did." Junpei sighed nodding just as the others were doing the same.
"Wow, you guys are going to be in a shitty position onward you graduate." Itsuka joked.
"Now that I think about it…" Izuku looked around looking for someone. "Where is Shinso-kun? I thought he would come with us."
"Oh yeah!" Itsuka piped in. "I encountered with him before and said that he had to go quickly somewhere, he didn't say where so I don't know."
'Strange… what are you hiding Hitoshi?' Junpei thought before his mouth formed a smirk. 'Or did something happen that got scouted by someone to train him under? Yeah, you'll tell us in time, but for now, I'll pretend I don't know anything.'
"Sorry that I'm asking, Suka, but where do you live right now?" Izuku asked bringing Junpei's thoughts out to him. "I mean, you said that your parents are still in Shizuoka prefecture so I don't know where you are living right now."
"Ah, well, I'm living in an apartment alone," Itsuka confessed. "My parents are still working over there but they send me money to pay the place. So I'm living alone right now."
"Yeah, I'm in the same boat," Ochako added. "My parents work all day so I usually stay alone at home while they work so it gets a little lonely at home."
The group hummed thoughtfully, even Junpei didn't know how they could help them with that. He could offer to lounge at their house, with Itsuka would be fine using the guest room since they are friends since four but Ochako is unknown to them so it couldn't help them much.
"I may have an offer for you two," Momo said earning their attention. "My parents gave me a place to live alone but the place is too big for me and there are many rooms. So why don't you girls want to live with me?"
"Hey, that's a great idea!" Itsuka said happily.
"I should talk to my parents," Ochako suggested. "But I think they'll be okay with it."
"That's great!" Momo chimed happily. "I shall prepare your rooms with you're ready!"
"Well, that's a problem resolved," Junpei said with Izuku and Tenya nodding in agreement.
Leaving the problem aside, the group went to endeavor to get food on their way to the station and once the food was consumed they separated to their respective households. Junpei was thrilled that the next day would be interesting and exciting so he went to sleep early for tomorrow's event.
It was going to be epic nonetheless.
