Boy Are We Glad To See You!
Now, obviously in the next chapter we are going to see RDJ meeting the duo who told Lila where to meet them. And now the others will have no idea where he has gone or what he is doing. Also, we are going to step even closer to finding out who The Destroyer could be. But…it will shock you to find out who it really is! So without further ado…let's get right to it! P.S Three new arrivals will be joining the team soon…three birds that you may know all too well…
Many moments had passed since RDJ and Lila had a conversation about what he was dreaming about. Despite the fact that they are no longer married.
The blue and gold macaw male peaked one of his eyes open, noticing that Jacqueline was still asleep in the chair in front of him. But this time Andy was sat besides her, also getting some much needed shuteye.
"Alright…I need to go to this…Pyramid Of The Moon?" He thought to himself quietly, as he pulled himself up from the bed. Groaning so quietly that the others couldn't possibly hear him. Then managed to pull himself up onto his talons. Taking what things he needed before managing to slip out.
Once he got outside, he noticed that Lila was sitting by herself gazing up at the moon.
He paused for a brief moment to gaze at her…with so much awe in his eyes.
The rays that glistened perfectly off of the crystal white moon made her feathers sparkle beautifully. With her bright purple eyes shining like the most astonishing glow. RDJ couldn't put it into words how he hoped that they were still married.
"She is still…the most beautiful girl in the world to me…" He thought to himself sadly as he shed some tears. His heart was still broken after what happened. But, he still wasn't going to let that get in the way of his main goal.
Then just before she could notice him slip away, he took off and flew away to find these two…strangers that infiltrated the church only a few hours ago.
Meanwhile…At The Pyramid Of The Moon…
The Pyramid Of The Moon is the second largest pyramid in Mexico, after the Pyramid Of The Sun. It is located in modern-day San Martin de las Piramaides. It's main location is in the western part of the ancient city of Teotihuacan and mimics the contours of the mountain Cereo Gordo, just north of the site.
At the very top of the pyramid, the two birds that revealed to be Reece and his daughter Gabriel were pacing up and down on the spot. As they awaited the arrival of the head of the assassins.
"So…is this guy really the real deal? I mean…he's not just some mimic running around in an assassins cloak?" Gabriel asked unsurely, picking the dirt out from on between her toes.
"I am sure daughter. I am almost certain he is the guy! The rumours of his bravery in Cairo have not gone unnoticed." Reece responded, as the grey macaw threw a rag at a wall.
"What are you doing? There is a trash can right there!"
"I was seeing if I could make it fly."
"Very funny Dad!" Gabriel rolled her eyes, and began to do her stretches. "How many more of these thug leaders are there? Because we just cant keep going from city to city!"
"Well we won't! But that is a good point…how many are there…"
"Only…One…"
Both Gabriel and Reece spun their heads around to see none other than a certain blue and gold macaw enter the building. With his hood pulled over his head so they couldn't see his face.
"So…you guys were looking for me?" He pondered with a straight face, whilst ye was limping inside of the pyramid.
"Ummm…are you…" Reece was about to ask whilst pointing towards the blue and gold macaw's chest. "Oooh…I've heard about your…heart problems…"
"What?! I don't have heart problems!" He sounded very offended by these remarks, but again he followed up by a faint wheezing. "Mmmmm…fffffuck!"
"Do you need to sit down?" Gabriel innocently asked as she went to help him, but he politely lifted his wing up to stop her.
"No thank you kid. Just tell me why you asked me to meet you, so I can be on my way."
"Alright!"
Both Reece and Gabriel looked at each other and nodded their heads before leading their new ally inside of their secret base.
Inside the pyramid was a very large room with a few chairs scattered around a table. And there was also a tunnel which lead to some cells where there were chains upon the walls. Which appeared to be some kind of torture chamber.
"I like your style." RDJ remarked to the older grey macaw, who chuckled in response to his comment.
"We tend to torture some of the thugs in the city to get what we want. I mean after all we are only after The Destroyer. I take it you know who it is?" Reece responded whilst pulling a chair for the assassin. "Please, sit down. Make yourself comfortable."
"Thanks friend." RDJ nodded and calmly sat down on the seat. Waiting for his new ally to tell him who they are.
"Okay, so my name is Reece, and this is my daughter Gabriel!" Reece introduced himself to the head of the assassins. Who only briefly waved at them.
"Hi!" Gabriel eagerly waved whilst getting quite excited to meet him. "I am your biggest fan!"
"Appreciate the love." RDJ spoke with a smile as he shook wings with her.
"Hehehe!"
"Okay daughter, let's not make him any more uncomfortable than he already may be." Reece joked as he pulled her aside. Just so he could slide some documents over to him to share some of his information. "Now I assume you already know who The Destroyer is?"
"We have met…" RDJ spoke in a dark tone…remembering what he had done to his best friend and brother in law.
"A-Anyway! A few months ago he came here trying to find some ancient artefacts of some kind. Now I don't know what he is after, but I assume it's important."
"He's after the keys of Jair…"
"And how do you know this?" Reece asked whilst cocking his head to the side in confusion.
"The assassins have been after his secrets for many centuries now. My…father was close to finding them. But luckily my friend Allie and my…friend, Lila are helping me to find them." RDJ was a bit uncomfortable saying that Lila was now his friend. Especially since they are technically no longer a married couple. But he would heed to get used to it. "I already have three of them. But I'm looking for the final two . Any idea where they could be?"
"Well sir, the fourth one is…" Gabriel was about to tell him where it was, but Reece quickly cut his daughter off.
"Now now Gabe! You know how this works. We get something in return if we give him something." The grey macaw spoke as he covered his daughter's beak to shush her.
"How about you think about that again?" The blue and gold macaw spoke as he extended his hidden blade and pointed it towards him menacingly.
"How about no?" Reece responded as he pulled out some kind of SMG, and he took off the safety.
"Bloody hell! Where did you get that thing?!"
"Stole it from some thugs! Now…are we going to do business or what?!" Reece spoke as he lowered his weapon.
"Fine…" RDJ replied whilst retracting his hidden blade. "So…what do you want in return?"
"I think that you should help us find the captain of the thugs Cameron. As you can imagine, he's been very ruthless with the birds in the city. Even tried to hit on me, but I obviously slapped him across the face." Gabriel replied whilst placing a wing on her hip. But then she gave RDJ a cheeky wink. "I wouldn't mind if you did a little flirting with me though…"
"Ummm…" RDJ scratched the back of his head nervously, but Reece cut her off by slapping her in the back of her head.
"GABE! There are more important things to be concerned about right now!"
"Sorry dad…" She lowered her head in defeat, whilst placing her rings by her sides.
"Okay…I know that Cameron is working with The Destroyer. I've seen him a few times since I arrived here in the city. But I don't know anything about his real intentions." RDJ responded whilst reading the file. "Hang on…who is that?"
He pointed his wingtip at a bird that was in a photo that Gabriel or Reece clearly took. And there was a female macaw in a hood.
"Oh that? I dunno…some bird called…what was her name dad?" The hybrid macaw asked her father, who only shrugged his shoulders.
"No idea? I know the species is a scarlet macaw though. Someone who is at least fifty years old." Reece spoke as he placed a wingtip on his chin.
Suddenly, RDJ dropped the file on the table and widened his eyes in horror as he only just realised something.
"Oh…my…god!" He spoke whilst placing a wing on his beak.
"What?! What is it?!" Both of them asked curiously while they noticed the way he was behaving.
"I…I know who it is…"
"Who?!"
"H-H-Hannah…" He spoke that last part in a shocked manner, before turning to look over his shoulder. "Alright, I need you two to meet me at the church in one hour! Don't be late!"
"Why?" Gabriel asked in a questionable glance.
"No time to explain! I'll see both of you there!" RDJ spoke as he coughed a few times and left the room immediately. Making the father and daughter incredibly confused.
"Why did he leave so soon dad?"
"No idea? But if you keep flirting with him, he will get annoyed. Now come on! Let's get our equipment together!" Reece spoke as he checked his ammunition and gear before setting off. As his daughter of course did the same thing before leaving.
Let's Briefly Go To The Church…
Far away from the pyramid of the moon, near the church where RDJ's friends and family were held up. The very same evil macaw stood there gazing at it, feeling a huge annoyance build up inside of him.
Clearly his attempts to get Lila keep coming back to haunt him, and it's very frustrating for him due to how many attempts he has already made.
"Grrrrrr! Fred had one job to do and take her away from him and he just had to keep screwing up! Why is it that I can't get to Lila, even if they are now divorced?!" The Destroyer spoke as he snapped a twig in half with his wings and threw it into the ocean.
"Sir?"
Suddenly, the macaw male turned to see Cameron approaching him in a hurry. Looking like he was out of breath for some reason.
"Oh thank gosh I found you! You have no idea how things have been lately! Especially now that RDJ is close to finding the fourth key!"
"I don't care about what he is up to! Did you only come here to tell me that?" He replied quite quite annoyed, as he glared at him.
"No! I also came to tell you that the men are ready for the attack on the church! We just need you to lead us!" The blue throated replied as he cracked his knuckles ready for battle.
"Good…" He spoke as he narrowed his eyes towards the church…noticing that a certain figure was outside on the roof…someone who he had his eye on for quite a while now. "Maybe this could be my final shot to…really get Lila…" He thought to himself, as he waited for the right moment to attack.
Now Let's Head To RDJ…
The head of the assassin order was flying through the streets of Mexico. With his breath getting heavier whilst flying faster. Feeling so much sweat dripping from his forehead.
"Ahhhh…damn bloody heart! Why did I have to be in a coma?" RDJ thought to himself as he picked up the pace. Only to be stopped mid flight by a certain someone…
"RDJ! HELP ME!"
"Huh?!" Suddenly, the blue and gold macaw male noticed that a group of Remainders were attacking Maria in the market. As she was backed up against the wall in what would be a difficult situation.
"HELP ME!" She screamed in terror, whilst fighting off some of the men.
"Damnit! Why did I have to be such a good assassin?" RDJ thought to himself, as he instantly dove down to the floor to help the green winged female fend off the enemy.
He flew straight down and stabbed two guards with both of his hidden blades. Then he rolled over a table and stabbed another in the neck. Before picking up a plank of wood to block another bird's attack. Then he jolted it to the side which disarmed the guard, then he smashed the plank over his head, causing his neck to twist sideways.
"Fucking hell! Now that I wasn't expecting!" Maria remarked as she watched on admiring the work of the assassin.
RDJ picked up three arrows and fired all three of them at a couple of vultures who tried to fly away in fear. But then he rolled to the side and threw a throwing knife at an archer on the roof of another church.
Pretty soon all of the birds in that area apart from RDJ and Maria began to fly away in terror after witnessing an assassin kill all of those birds.
"Haaaa…Haaaaa…Ffffuck! I think I may need…ahhhh…a doctor!" RDJ grumbled in pain as he felt a huge jolt of pain hit his heart. And he collapsed onto the ground with a light thud. Making Maria go wide eyed in shock.
"Huaaaa! RDJ!" She quickly ran to his aid and went to try and pick him up…but there was just one slight problem…
"OVER HERE! COME ON!" A guard s teamed at the top of his lungs. Leading many of his men to find the assassin.
"Come on RDJ?! Get up!" Maria tried shaking him a few times to wake him up. But it was going to be very difficult. "RDJ, please get up!"
She shook him several times to try and wake him up, but he wasn't moving a single inch.
This put her under more pressure because she had never been in a fight before. But…that didn't stop a certain someone from pulling them out of the fight.
Suddenly, a blue wing came out of nowhere and pulled Maria out of the streets. Whilst another managed to drag RDJ into a building to safety. Causing the green winged female to be increasingly confused about who it was.
Once they were dragged away into an abandoned house, the birds who pulled them to safety quickly shut the doors of the house. And while two of them went to check on the unconscious and injured blue and gold macaw. The other one stood near the window to check for any oncoming threats. Which luckily there wasn't.
"Is he breathing?" One of them asked the other, as they lowered an ear to their chest. Only to respond with a nod. "Good! Good…I was hoping that he wouldn't have gotten himself killed yet."
Maria shook in fear once noticing that three figures were in the house, all wearing hoods and had machetes in their wings.
"Wh-Wh-Who are you guys?" She stuttered fearfully, whilst trying not to freak out by their presence.
All three of them soon nodded their heads towards each other and removed their hoods…only to reveal three certain birds…birds that RDJ knew all too well.
"Where are my friends?" One of then asked in annoyance, as he bashed his machete into his other wing. Only to realise he accidentally cut his wing slightly. "Ahhh shit! I did it again!"
"Smooth move…" The other figure replied in a slight giggle. Showing that it was a female macaw who was standing besides him.
"I thought he was pretty smooth." The third figure spoke up in a slightly flirtatious voice. But this one was also a male.
Maria blinked her eyes a few times in confusion, because she didn't exactly know how to react to this. Especially since she had no idea whether she could trust them or not.
"Im sorry but…who are you guys?" She asked again when feeling that she was about to be taken hostage by three strangers.
"Take us to our friends first! Then we will talk!" The female spoke up quite rudely, as the trio prepared to take RDJ and Maria away from the streets.
Now Let's Head Back To The Church…
Monifa was in the study with Allie and Aiden trying to track down the fourth key, but they were finding it really difficult. Due to some of the translations being so hard to translate.
"I am having a really hard time trying to translate this Aiden? How do we know what to do with them?" Monifa pointed out as she sulked in disappointment.
"Do not give up hope Monifa! You aren't giving it enough time!" Aiden replied as he was almost certain they were close to finding it. "I think if we checked the sectors five to seven…"
"But that would be off the coast of the country? That wouldn't even be on land?" Allie pointed out the obvious. Feeling a huge sigh coming. "Ahhhhh…RDJ will not be happy with us…"
"Why?"
"AHHHHH!" Suddenly, everyone in the church jumped at the sound of a new voice entering the church. And it wasn't of course the bird they were expecting…it was in fact…a certain other bird…
"Fred?! What the hell are you doing here?!" Keith angrily spoke as he pointed his spear at him threateningly. "You have some nerve showing your face here!"
"Listen! You guys have to get out of here! The Destroyer is on his way here, and he wants the keys and Lila! I came here to warn you!" The blue and gold macaw spoke as he tried his best to get them out of there. But they weren't entirely convinced of his innocence.
"Ooh really? Because it seems to me that you came here to test us!" Alex growled whilst unwrapping his nunchucks from his waist.
"Listen! If you don't believe me…"
"Fred…"
The blue and gold macaw male spun his head around…only to see the one certain bird who he had…fondled earlier that day. "Lila…"
The blue spix's macaw female approached him with a really confused glance on her face. "What are you doing here?"
"Lila…" He was about to approach her and grasp her by her wings, but Tomada and Jacqueline blocked him off.
"That's far enough Fred! What are you doing here?!" The falcon grumbled as he clenched his wing into a fist.
"I came here to tell you that The Destroyer is coming here to attack the church…"
"And is that because you were working with him?!" Jacqueline asked in annoyance, not letting her guard down either.
Fred slowly turned towards Lila, sadly smiled and then turned back around to face the others. "Yes…The Destroyer was blackmailing me to work for him…and in exchange…he doesn't kill my brother…"
"And why should we believe you?! You already lied to us about not working for him!"
"Because Jacqueline, don't you think that if I wanted you dead I would have killed you by now?" He rose his eyebrow whilst trying to make them believe him.
Everyone turned around for a moment to have a think about wether they should believe him or not. He did have a point about wether he would have wanted to kill them or not.
"Fine…but we have to know exactly what The Destroyer wanted you to do!" Jaime spoke with an annoyed tone, pulling out his machete.
The older male nodded his head and then turned around to face Lila. "The Destroyer wanted me to get close to the group and try to seduce Lila. And then in return…he spares my brother's life."
"So that's why you flirted with me? Not because you were into me, but because it was part of a plan?!" Lila grumbled in anger herself, feeling the urge to punch him in the face.
"No! No no! You see…after all that time we spent together…I realised how amazing you actually are! And that I couldn't go through with his plans anymore. So, I told him I didn't want to be part of his plot anymore. Then as I left I overheard uk say he was going to attack the church! So I came straight here to tell you guys! We have to leave here now!" Fred pointed out as he looked so innocent in front of them.
The others once again turned to each other unsurely, as they didn't know wether to believe him or not. But after a few moments had passed, they all nodded their heads.
"Okay, so when do we…"
BOOOOOOOM!
Alex got cut off of his sentence, when a huge explosion was heard from outside of the church. Causing everyone to look at the area in disbelief and shock.
"What the fuck was that?!" Andy asked in concern, as he held onto Jacqueline to comfort her.
"It was a grenade! We have to…LOOK OUT!" Fred suddenly tackled Allie out of the way before a shrapnel grenade exploded inside the room. Luckily, nobody was caught.
"Phew! Thanks!" The pink macaw thanked the older male who pulled her onto her feet.
"Now do you believe that I am on your side here?!" Fred asked the others frantically, who all were quick to nod their heads at him…apart from Jameson…who still had his suspicions. "Good! Because I know a way out of here! Come on!" Fred grasped Lila and Monifa by their wings and escorted them towards what appeared to be a strong brick wall at the back of the room.
"That's not a way out? That's a wall!" Keith pointed out the obvious, making his friends roll their eyes.
"Things aren't always what they seem at first sight…kind of like how quickly you were to judge me!" Fred spoke as he pulled down some kind of candlestick, that acted like a lever.
Soon, the entire wall slid down. Revealing some lit passageway which was heading deeper into the inner depths of the church.
"What the? When did this appear here?" Jameson asked curiously, cocking his head to the side.
"Many years ago if you must know! I remember finding this room when I was just a teenager."
"So you ummm…you must know a lot about this place then?" Jameson asked as he got a little closer to him.
"Yes! My mother told me everything about this place!"
"Oh really? My mother taught me a lot about this place as well. What's your mother's name?" Allie beamed as they all began to head into the passage at single file.
"Hannah…" Fred replied quite confidently, as they all carried on walking inside.
Lila paused briefly for a moment after hearing him say this…her eyes widened in shock.
"Oh…my…god…" Lila whispered as she began to shiver.
Fred noticed that she was staring at him strangely…and now he knew that he had said something he now regretted. But he knew how to fix it. "She was born and raised in Paraguay. I lived the first few years of my life there. Until I moved here."
Lila put on a fake smile and quickly stood next to Tomada and Monifa. "I'll just be back here Fred! I'm going to keep an eye out for Remainders!"
"Good idea Lila! You are so smart." He spoke in a seductive tone, before turning back around to carry on the journey.
Lila leaned in towards her falcon friend, and whispered something into his ear. "Tomada…I think…I think we are in trouble here…"
"I agree…I know RDJ had told me that name before! And he definitely did say that Hannah had a son…with Leandro! Oh my gosh! You think…You think…" Tomada slowly turned to face the blue female. Who nodded her head in agreement.
"That Fred is The Destroyer? No…I don't think he is…I know he is…"
Dun…Dun…DUUUUUN! Yes my friends, you heard that right ladies and gentlemen! The Destroyer has finally been revealed! But…will RDJ figure it out when he next sees him again? Or will he fall for his tricks? Where is Fred leading team samba club? And will RDJ find the final two keys? Stay tuned for the next chapter! See you all soon.
