What Friends Are For
We are now heading into the next big chapter ladies and gentlemen! Obviously in the last one we saw that Fred was potentially revealed as The Destroyer. RDJ and Maria are being brought to the church after what happened in the city. But now the church is under attack by The Remainders. So much to look forward to! Let's get to the action! P.S Arika, no Lila is NOT evil.
A few moments after the trio of hooded heroes saved the head of the assassins and the green winged female from the attackers, they were on their way to the church to regroup. After of course meeting their new friends along the way before meeting g the friends they really know.
But they saw all of the commotion from the edge of the riverside, and knew that there was nothing they could do now. Especially since the enemy were throwing Molotov cocktails at the church. Setting it on fire, in the hopes of killing the samba birds. Little did they know, that they have escaped through a back entrance.
The trio of birds arrived on the scene with the injured assassin carried in the male's talons. With Maria flying just besides them, still very unsure on what to do.
"Great! Now the church is already on fire! Now what are we supposed to do?" Maria asked in frustration whilst sighing heavily. The green winged female was even more terrified, because she didn't think things through. Then again, her life did change in an instant when meeting the head of the assassins for the first time.
"I don't know? Were our friends in there?" The female asked again as she turned around to face her with a straight face. "We don't want to waste our time with wild goose chases. Especially since we have travelled so far!"
"Yes, I think so?" The green winged female responded with a nod. Even though she hoped that they had gotten out of there alive.
"Well we better get in there and help them! Who knows where they would be at this…" The male was about to finish speaking, but soon a loud voice echoed over the horizon. Taking them easily by surprise.
"RDJ!"
They all shot their heads to the side to see a group of birds flying towards them. And they all immediately recognised who they were…and Tomada of course recognised who the trio of birds were.
Fred was of course a little confused to see three new faces join the team. Especially three that Tomada clearly knew well. But why did he seem so concerned about it.
"Oh my god! Blu?! Jewel! Martin?! What are you three doing here?!" The falcon beamed in a thrilled tone as he gave the trio of birds a hug. "It's so good to see all of you!"
"It's great to see you too buddy! I can't believe we have finally found you!" Blu replied happily as he patted him on the back. "We heard about what's going on in the city, and had to come here to find you straight…"
"BESTIE!" Martin shrieked in a feminine tone, as he ran up to Jacqueline and gave her a really tight hug. "OMG! You still look so fabulouuuuus!"
Blu did laugh a little that the green winged male cut him off of his sentence. But he understood that he hasn't seen his best friend in a long time.
"Hehehe! I missed you so much Martin! Things have been so boring here without you! How has everyone been at home in Rio?" Jacqueline responded when separating from the hug.
"Well…Leandro and Emily are still pretty upset that their parents have been fighting. Everyone else just wants to see all of you come home safely!" Martin replied quite calmly, but then he noticed that the blue female Lila, sadly frowned whilst turning away from him. Making him incredibly curious. "Are you okay there Lila darling?"
"Huh? Me? Y-Yeah…I'm okay…" She didn't exactly seem too convincing by her response. But the green winged male shook it off and smiled at the others.
"We are glad to see you guys too! You wouldn't believe how silent Rio is without you guys!" Blu pointed out as they were finally able to dispose of the cloaks to reveal their identities. Confirming that the blue spix's macaw couple and Martin were in front of them.
"And you Jewel! Wow, you haven't aged at all!" Jaime remarked in a cheeky tone, causing her to blush.
"Okay okay! That's enough of the flirting for now! If you…brother?!" Fred immediately interrupted the conversation and saw that his brother was laying down in front of the trio. Weakly breathing as he clenched onto his heart. "What's wrong with him?"
"Well, he has a…" Jewel was about to tell Fred about his heart condition, but Lila cut in and told him something different.
"Low vitamin count! Yes, we need to get some orange juice in his system!" The blue female walked straight past Free and strolled up to one of her closest friends. Then she lowered her head so that Jewel could hear what she was saying. "Don't tell him anything! There's a chance that he is The Destroyer!"
"The what?"
"I'll tell you later…"
The blue female nodded her head and looked back towards a confused Fred. "Yes, he has a low vitamin count." Jewel replied with a fake smile…causing Fred to give her a suspicious glance.
As Fred turned away from the others…Alex noticed that there were a few things that stood out to him. He tapped Tomada on the shoulder, and pointed towards the older blue and gold macaw male.
Once the falcon spotted what he was talking about, he nodded his head towards Alex and immediately nudged into the older male.
"Hey?! What was that for?!" Fred grumbled in annoyance whilst dusting his feathers off.
"Sorry buddy! I'm a clumsy idiot!" Tomada joked as he took what the macaw was holding and put it behind his back. But then Alex went and slid a few objects back into the holster to avoid him being suspicious.
"Okay? May I say though…you are really a thing of beauty…" He creepily spoke as he looked at Jewel up and down. This made her feel a bit uncomfortable. "Especially those breasts…mmm, you've not done too badly for yourself!"
"Can you stop flirting with everyone?! You already flirted enough with me! So get a grip!" Lila bellowed out loud in anger, as Fred gave her a shocked look. "We don't want or need you making stupid comments like this! So please just leave us alone!"
"Sorry, I didn't mean to fly off the handle like that." He sounded so sarcastic when replying in this manner. That she went and hid behind Jewel, who shirked her along with her husband. Once she backed away, Fred then turned his attention towards another familiar face that he knew. "Ahhhh, Maria…how's your sister?"
"Fuck you Fred! I have no interest in being friendly with the likes of you!" The green winged female growled at him. Whilst she hid behind Jewel and Lila.
"Oh come on? I tried to apologise, so surely that counts for something?"
"That's fine! Can we please just…" Lila was about to finish speaking, but then soon a voice was heard from behind them.
"Ughhhhh…Owwww!"
"RDJ?" Lila spoke up in a hopeful tone whilst noticing that her ex husband was moving.
"Ughhhh…Ow! My head!" The blue and gold macaw male was heaving after what had happened only moments ago in the city. But what he woke up to, was a smiling Martin in his face. "What the hell?"
"Wakey wakey sweet beak!" He cheekily waved whilst blowing him a kiss. Which made the others but not Fred, laugh in amusement. "It's especially good to see you again…"
"M-Martin? What are you doing here?" RDJ replied in a week tone, whilst blinking his eyes a few times to get his sight back into them. When he managed to gain his sight back, he began to feel like he recognised the two other birds standing next to the green winged macaw male. "Blu? Jewel! What are you three doing here?"
"Clearly trying to save your sorry butt! Or shall we just carry on flying to another city?" Blu sarcastically responded as he picked him up off of the ground.
"No, I didn't mean it like that! I meant like…why did you go against what I said?"
"Wow…Wow! Okay darling! We flew like…A WHOLE few miles over here to help you on your key journey? And this is how you repay us?" Martin spoke in a sassy tone, as he snapped his wingtips.
"I'm sorry, it's just…I wasn't quite expecting…YOU!" RDJ immediately realised that standing behind them was of course his brother Fred. Who anxiously waved at him with a nervous smile. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"
"H-H-Hi…" He chuckled nervously whilst trying to take a few steps away from him.
The head of the assassins was going to try and lunge at him in frustration, but where his chest was still in a huge amount of pain, he couldn't exactly move. "Oooh…ahhh…get the fuck away from my friends!"
"Listen brother…I came here to help you escape the attackers!" His brother tried to be innocent, as he pointed his wingtip towards the church. "If it weren't for me, your family could have died just now!"
"I don't give a fuck about that! YOU KISSED MY WI…EX WIFE!" RDJ blurted out as he clenched into his chest in pain.
"Are you okay?" Fred asked as he looked at his brother with a curious stare. But the way he was looking at him almost felt like he was…observing what he was doing. But why?
"He's fine! Stand back!" Lila bellowed as she gave him a shove backwards.
Lila lowered her head sadly in response to this. But not only because she was reminded of the terrible thing that she did, but because the trio of new arrivals all widened their eyes completely horrified.
"WHAAAAAT?!" All three of them simultaneously shouted, whilst frozen in confusion.
"L-Listen…The thing is…You see…" Lila couldn't quite put into words how exactly this all happened. But luckily for her…a certain someone did it for her.
"I was an awful husband to her guys…" RDJ spoke with a calm tone…taking Lila completely by surprise. "Yes…I lied to her…I was always doing what I thought was best for me rather than my family. And I always put work first. That's why…" RDJ briefly turned to face his now ex wife, who was staring deeply into his eyes with her bright smile idols eyes. "That's why she deserves so much more than me…"
The blue spix's macaw female was truly in shock by what she had just heard. That she was completely stunned into silence. Yes okay, their marriage wasn't exactly the best in many ways. But half of the things they in her eyes that he had said was untrue. But she dared not to say anything now…especially in front of a certain other older macaw. Who was now smiling after hearing such words.
"Ahhhh…this is all so touching, but I think we need to get a move on!" Fred remarked as he picked up some of the weapons that they had been storing. "I think we should…"
"We? I'm sorry…but YOU, are not coming with us!" Lila remarked angrily as she snatched the items from his wings. Before standing behind RDJ, who was quite surprised that she did that.
"Why? Because you seemed to be pretty keen on my tongue going down your throat." The older male responded in a cocky manner whilst crossing his wings.
"You drugged me! How was I supposed to know what I was doing?!"
"You could have resisted the temptation to kiss me, or were you so upset about your hubby…"
"That's enough!" RDJ shouted as he pushed him backwards in a rough manner. "Since you just helped my family escape certain death…I won't ram my blade into your throat! But now I am giving you the chance to fly away. Or…you will see to it that you don't live another moment in this life."
Free chuckled sinisterly after receiving such a threat from his brother. He then gradually spun around and proceeded to walk away. "You know brother…at least I am man enough to admit that I was using Lila for my own selfish gain!" The older male spat rudely, as he flapped his wings to get away from the samba birds. Who all turned back to face their mentor, who sighed heavily in defeat.
"Ughhhh…why is it that I always have to have crazy individuals in my family history?" RDJ thought to himself, before turning around to face his friends. "Listen, I know where to go from here. Follow me, and we will get to safety as quickly as possible! We have two new birds who are going to help me find the final keys."
"But…we are so close mentor! So close! We can handle it!" Allie remarked sadly, as she lowered her head glumly.
"I know, you have all worked very hard! And I appreciate your efforts. But I have two new allies who have already found both of the last keys!"
"Really? That is quite helpful! Who are these mysterious…" Lila was being quite sarcastic yet cheeky with her words with a giggle. But he already knew that she knew about it.
"It's okay Lila, I know that you know about Gabriel and Reece already. We may have to meet them in their base! But for now, I say let's try and slip away into the city. At least then we can try to escape the remainders without being spotted!" RDJ remarked as he grunted heavily whine clutching onto his heart. "Ahhhh…Tomada…can I get a lift?"
"Sure buddy! Climb on!" Tomada remarked as leaned forwards, welcoming his best friend to climb on and ride on his back.
"Thank you…" RDJ gradually pulled himself up onto the falcon's back, and he managed to get on him without hurting the male. "Ahhhh…sorry if I hurt you."
"Don't no worry about it buddy! Let's just get you out of here and to safety!" Tomada remarked, and he spread his wings to fly off into the city.
Pretty soon all of his friends joined them, including the three new arrivals and Maria…Leaving one particular bird to watch their movements.
Now Let's Find Out Where The Destroyer Is…
Many of the thugs in Mexico continued to throw several items at the church whilst screaming in joy. As the thought of burning their enemy was making them really excited.
"YEAHHHH! BURN BABY BURN!" One of them screamed, as he tossed a Molotov cocktail through the windows.
"TAKE THIS YOU BASTARD!" Another one screamed as they threw a grenade at the top of the bell tower. Causing a very small but loud explosion.
As all of this was going on, The Destroyer turned up to the scene. Watching on as his men were continuing to attack the church.
"I wouldn't waste your time on this Cameron! Fred has already lead them out of the church alive…" The Destroyer remarked in a calm voice, causing his associate to be a little confused.
"I don't understand master? Wasn't the plan to kill him? You don't seem so bothered by the fact that they weren't in there." The blue throated macaw replied as he scratched the back of his head.
"Because we already have the advantage! Look what a…certain someone got for us…" The evil macaw placed his wing in his pocket. And then he pulled out what believed to be…three circular stones. "Look at what I have!"
His associate stepped forwards and examined them for himself…but there was just one problem.
"Sir? Why are you holding three stones?"
"THEY ARE NOT STONES!" He yelled at his associate, smacking him over the back of his head. "They are the keys of Jair!"
"Ummmm…you may want to check again sir…" Cameron spoke quite anxiously, before showing him one of the keys up closer.
The Destroyer did take a closer look at the key that he was talking about. But as soon as he did so…he instantly growled in rage.
"NO! BUT…HOW?!" He spoke rather angrily as he threw them on the floor in frustration. But just as he was about to punch someone else…a thought came into his mind. "Huaaaa! RDJ! He must have took the keys and switched them?! AHHHHHH! Okay…Okay…Let's try and not lose my head here. Let's be calm! Okay…I can do this! I just need to simply kill the bastard!"
"But how? He's the most powerful assassin in the world? Nobody can beat him!" Cameron pointed out the obvious while scratching the back of his head.
"You moron! Have you forgotten who I am?! I AM THE FUCKING DESTROYER! I WIPED OUT EVERY LAST BLUE AND GOLD MACAW ON THIS EARTH! And Felix took the credit when I told him to! Especially since I also brainwashed him into killing his parents!"
"WHAT?! But…You never said anything like that?!"
"I didn't have to! But now that you know…" He pointed a machete at his throat and sinisterly smiled at him. "You won't tell a soul now…will you?"
"N-N-No sir!" The blue throated male stuttered anxiously, as he backed up against a wall.
"Good! Now…go to the bar in the city! Christmas is coming soon and I think Lila will adore the present that you are going to give her!" He sinisterly chuckled as he proceeded to walk away, leaving his associate a little puzzled.
"Is that a metaphor for rape?" He called out in confusion, not really getting what he was asked to do.
"No you fool! I want you to flirt with her and try to seduce her! God! You really are as dumb as a brick!" The Destroyer grumbled as he clapped his wings and flew away. Leaving Cameron to carry out his next task.
Now Let's Head Back To Team Samba Club…
Many moments had passed since the Remainders destroyed the church and everything inside.
Blu and Jewel were flying alongside Alex and Tomada, trying to talk to RDJ as he was resting on the falcon's back.
The others were flying a few feet behind them but were talking amongst themselves. Especially Alex and Allie who were in quite a deep discussion.
"So buddy, how are the heart problems? Have you managed to soothe them?" Blu asked the assassin kindly, even though he was pretty sure that he knew the answer.
"Honey! You can't ask him that! He's already been through a lot as it is!" Jewel angrily nudged into her husband in mid flight. Causing him to gulp nervously.
"It's been better…but I can't push myself too hard in case I get a stroke." RDJ responded as he clenched his heart again. "Ahhhhh…"
"Are you okay?" Martin asked in concern whilst flying behind the group.
"It's okay…I'm used to my heart hurting by now…" RDJ spoke as he gradually turned his head around to face his ex wife. Who slowly lowered her head sadly.
The others noticed the way he was staring at her in this way, but they dared not to intervene. Well…almost everyone.
"Look darling, she is probably just working things out in her head you know? Weighing out the pros and cons about the situation. Who knows? Maybe the two of you will be back together in a couple of weeks?" Martin whispered to the assassin with a smile. But after this he decided to be a little flirty. "And if not…me and Douglas always wanted to be the two buns in an RDJ sandwich…if you catch my drift…"
"MARTIN!" Jewel shouted in irritation, whilst glaring at him. "How exactly is this supposed to help him?!"
"Sorry! I was only being playful?" Martin replied as he was just being flirty with him.
"Look it's fine guys, really! Myself and Lila have decided to remain neutral disregarding the circumstances. So I am just happy that everything is fine between us." RDJ spoke with a smirk, as Lila did smile at him in response.
"Well…we are just glad that you're still alive! So…I also noticed that Beto and Fernando are not here? Do you know where they are?" Jewel asked with a sweet tone.
Clearly she didn't receive a letter from RDJ about the death of two of their closest friends. In fact, they never even knew about the death of Roberto or Fernando like the others had known.
Lila sadly lowered her head whilst they were flying. RDJ once again clenched his heart in pain, while lowering his head.
"What? Where are they RDJ?" Jewel asked once more as they edged closer to the pyramid of the moon.
"Ahhhhh! AHHHHHH!" RDJ collapsed on the back of Tomada clenching his heart, and his eyes squeezed tightly shut. As he felt a burning sensation in his chest that felt like a scorching blast. "My heart…my head…my…AHHHHH!"
"RDJ!" Everyone screamed at the same time, landing safely on a platform inside of the pyramid. As Tomada placed him down on the ground.
All of them circled around him and tried to give him enough space to breathe. As he did look like he was in a rough way.
Blu and Jewel took some items like water or medicine out of a rucksack to give to him during his recovery. As the others all stood there anxiously waiting for a response from him.
"Guys?! What do we do? I've never seen him this bad before?" Aiden pointed out, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
"I think he may be having a vision of some kind? But it's hard to make out." Jaime replied, feeling as if he had seen the quivering from him before. With nothing but the slightest ounce of fear that had reentered his eyes.
"He's suffering…"
Nobody but Lila had spoken during this conversation. Making the others give the two of them done room as she kneeled down next to him.
"Okay, everyone take a few steps back! I've got this!"
Suddenly, nobody other than Reece and Gabriel came running up to them in n a hurry. Whilst the others were shocked by their arrival. Especially since they had no idea who either of them were.
"Who in the living redeemer are you?" Tomada asked in a slightly defensive tone, pulling out his tomahawk.
"We could bloody well ask you the same question!" Reece spoke up as he pointed his P90 machine gun at the falcon. "Put your weapon away! I don't want to fight you!
"Then step away from my…"
"No Tomada! Listen to him! He's trying to help!" Lila spoke in a reassuring tone and stepped back a few paces to allow the duo to work with him.
Gabriel laid out some medical supplies that she had collected across the city, and placed them next to him on the ground. She then took a pillow and placed it under his head so he was sitting comfortably.
Next, she took out some kind of needle and took off the safety before flicking the syringe with her talon.
"What is that?" Jameson asked whilst cocking his head to the side.
"It's an anaesthetic. It will numb the pain of the stroke and put him into a brief sleep. Don't worry, it's very harmless!" Gabriel reassured them as she got ready to inject it into his wing.
"What?! I don't want…a needle…Ahhh! In my wing!" The blue and gold macaw whined as he didn't look at the sharp object.
"But you need it to numb the pain. We cant afford to lose you!" Reece pointed out whilst patting him on the back.
"I don't care! You are not sticking a needle in me! No way!" RDJ grumbled and pushed her wing away.
Just as the grey macaw male was about to protest, Lila placed a wing on his shoulder. And whispered in his ear. "Don't worry, I got this." She whispered before slowly getting closer to her ex husband. Then she gradually turned him around to face her, while she just smiled at him softly. "I thought you were a big…brave…Assassin?"
For some strange reason, she added a bit of seduction to the tone. Which to some of them seemed like she was hitting g on him. When in reality, she was only trying to trick him into taking the needle.
"Well…ummm…I am?" RDJ sounded a little confused by the way she was talking. But…he did always love it when she used to talk to him in that way.
"Are you sure?" She leaned in a little closer to his ear whilst her breasts were almost pressing up against his muscular chest. "Because I thought you'd be okay with a tiny little needle?"
"Well…I suppose…" Suddenly, he immediately collapsed on the ground unconscious after hearing that last sentence. And Lila instantly shot her head towards Gabriel.
"Done!" She beamed before putting the needle away in her bag.
As the others all noticed that Lila was soo good to him…Blu and Jewel were just as shocked. "Wow…you were so good with him?" Reece remarked in surprise as he began to take him with Tomada inside the temple.
"Yeah…I guess I am…"
I'm so sorry for the late update everyone! I've been so swamped lately especially around this time of year as you can imagine! I hope you all had an incredible Christmas and a happy new year!
