Xofamai took a step back and gulped slightly. ''I searched everywhere but while my Pokemon can sometime pick up his scent we can't find any physical evidence of him anywhere. I'm pretty sure he has been taken by a Zoroark. The Pokemon of illusions. It has turn a big part of this forest into an illusory maze and no matter how hard you try to find it's den it always find a way to throw you off.''
''It's going to regret ever laying a hand on him!'' She growled before taking off. She could hear Xofamai screaming at her to slow down but she didn't listen. Ash seemed to consider this and then frowned and shook his head. ''I...No I'm never going to let a Pokémon capture me like this again. I know this is technically not brainwashing but I'm slowly realizing I let Zoroark get away with way too much. I don't feel traumatized at least not yet. Lillie frowned and had to admit to herself that he was right. She had been way too willing to abandon her missions and her human friends in favor of spending her life with Taffy. Now that she could think more clearly she realised she really wasn't okay with being a slave after all. Ash turned toward Sandy and Bolt who had been patiently waiting all this time. Both Sandy and Bolt looked at him with clear shame in their expression and voiced their understanding. Ash smiled at them softly in forgiveness and retreived the Draconid Gems from where he left them and returned them inside for th first time since last week.
Then he turned his attention back Zoroark and Zorua who was looking at her mother worriedly. ''Zoroark, we had a pretty rough start together but I ended up enjoying our time together even if I don't agree with how you captured me. Zorua... I would lie if I said our time together wasn't nice and I understand that as a Pokémon you never really understood why I was uncomfortable mating with someone as young as you. With that Ash and Lillie turned back and began to walk away. The ice on Zoroark legs finally had thawed enough for her to break away. The two humans tensed at the sound of ice breaking behind them. Zorua looked back at her mother with a sad look. She looked back between her mom and the retreating humans with a growing pit in her stomach as uncertainty assaulted her on the inside. Before she motioned toward Ash with her head and pushed the small Zorua with her claws.
The Zorua looked back at her mother with an unsure look. The Zoroark growled in response before she turned back and walked away. Zorua looked back between both retreating form of her mother and Ash multiple times unsure which direction she should choose. Finally with growing resolve she looked toward her choice and took her first step toward her new future...
It only took a few minutes of walk for the two teens to find Xofamai. Who looked beyond relieve at seeing Ash alive and well. But then as he watched the boy approach the man slightly scrunched his nose.

At that the small Zorua yipped loudly in response and jumped into a surprise Ash who caught her in mid-air on reflex. ''Zorua, a-are you sure you want to come with me? It's going to be dangerous you know? We're going to fight Pokémon on a daily basis to protect people and maybe even kill them if we have to.''
The Zorua responded with another yip before burying her head into the boy's chest. ''I don't think you'll be able to change her mind.'' Lillie said with a slightly amused smile.
''Well alright... Man this is really bad I don't have any Draconid Gem for a dark type.'' He said realising he couldn,t even catch his new Pokémon.
''You can always buy one when we return in the Community. But in the future when you have enough money, you should make sure you have at least one gem for every types out there. The only one I would recommend not buying is a Dragon gem. Not only because of how expensive they are. But also because the chances of anyone being able to catch a Dragon-type is so low. It's not even worth the loss of money or the risk to your life an attempt would require.'' Xofamai said with his usual emotionally dead voice back in full force.
Ash decided to put the small Zorua on his shoulder for now and the small fox happily took her place on her new master as she looked curiously everywhere around the forest from her new vantage point.
''So...Lillie. Where is Nebby? Is he asleep? I haven't seen him since you rescued me.'' Ash asked with a toughtful expression.
At that Lillie looked down and frowned. ''Nebby...Decided to part way with me.''

A few hours ago
Lillie and Taffy were both nervous as they stood in front of the two massive double doors sculped in ice. On the other side of these doors stood the King and Queen of the entire tribe and the parents of Taffy who would decided their fate.
Depending on their decision Lillie would either return to her life as a Trainer with Taffy as a new partner or remain here as a pet for the rest of her life. Just yesterday she wouldn't have minded the latter option. But now that the option of both being a Trainer and being with Taffy was an option she couldn't imagined having to be stuck here forever anymore.
''You can enter!'' A regal masculine voice spoke on the other side of the door. And with that the young girl and her Vulpix master entered the throne room.
As expected the King and Queen of the Ninetales looked both majestic and powerful as they sat in their thrones. But Lillie was shocked at the third being in the room with them. A boy around her age with a short chubby figure and a tuff of ginger hair atop his head.
It had felt like an eternity since she had seen him in his human form. But she would never forget how Sophocles looked in a million years. ''N-Nebby?!'' Lillie exclaimed in shock.

Lillie wanted him to elaborate on that but before she could ask him to do so. The Ninetales King cleared his throat. ''As much as I don't want to interrupt this touching reunion, I think we have important matters to discuss. Taffy if I understand correcly you have asked a petition to start your pilgrimage. Since me and your mother have explained in details why this could not happen before. I hope you have something new to bring to the table and this is not simply a waste of all of our time.''
If his words discouraged Taffy, he did a very good job at hiding it as he clear his throat. ''I do in fact have a new proposition, father. One of the argument I have used before is to bring a more experience Ninetales with me to keep me safe.''
''And as I said before we cannot send away one of our best fighters with you and leave our tribe weaker so that you can have your little adventure.'' The King replied, with an unimpressed expression.
Taffy gritted his teeth at that ''How dare he call our sacred pilgrimage for knowledge, a simple 'little adventure'.'' He muttered under his breath so that only Lillie could hear him.
''Honey maybe we should just let him talk before assuming anything.'' The Queen spoke. The matriarch seemed relaxed and content as she sat and listen and that seem to be in no small part because Sophocles had dutifully returned to his place between her legs as he continued to explore every inches of her royal garden with his tongue.
The King sighed slightly irritated. Lillie wondered if he was slightly bitter that his wife was using a pet to please herself instead of him. ''Very well young Prince, I will listen to your proposal to the end. Please make it quick.''
''Well since I arleady own this pet and no one other than me would miss her if she left. I tought maybe she could become my Trainer and make me strong enough to complete my pilgrimage. Not only can she make me stronger but she will have an entire team of Pokémon ready to help me accomplish my journey.''
Technically Lillie's only Pokémon had been Nebby who wasn't much of a fighter at all. Most of her fights had been done by herself with her own powers, she barely qualified as a Pokémon Trainer at all. But she wouldn't say that to the King and Queen aloud.
''So...What do you think?'' Taffy finished somewhat lamely. Lillie and Taffy could only wait in a tense silence as the King closed his eyes and began to ponder quietly to himself. After what felt like an hour he finally opened his eyes and sighed.
''You're really determined to go on that pilgrimage aren't you? You remind me too much of your mother at times. She too was such a free spirit before I finally managed to convince her to settle down with me. The world out there is completely different than the one we grew up in and that worry me. But I realize I can only keep you here too long before my subjects suspect that I coddle you too much.''
Then his gaze turned toward Lillie and his gaze hardened making her flinch. ''Human, I hope you realise how great a honor it is to be able to capture a member of the royal family. Do not expect to be able to own my son forever however. One day he will need to take his rightful place on the throne and on that day your descendants will need to release him or face the wrath of the Ninetales tribe am I understood?''
Lillie shakily nodded. ''Yes, I might own him from now on but despite our roles as master and pet we see each other as equals. I would never force Taffy to do something against his will.'' That technically wasn't an agreement to let Taffy go if he decided he didn't want to take the throne. But they didn't need to know that.
But whether it was because of the arrogant tought that his son would never want to refuse the throne or because he was secretly more caring than he let on he accepted her words with a nod. ''Very well then, from that day foward. Taffy, Prince of the Articuno Tribe begin his sacred pilgrimage. May wisdom and fortune guide your steps.''
With that the the double doors opened. Clearly indicating that the meeting was done and it was time for Lillie and Taffy to leave. But before then Lillie casted one glance toward Sophocles. ''Nebby, what about you? Are you coming?''
The Queen seemed displeased at the question but looked down at Sophocles for his response. ''You have spent one week with me my pet. As promised you are allowed to leave if you wish to do so. It would pain me to see you go. But as the Queen of the Ninetales I would not dare to disrespect our customs.''
Sophocles looked down on the floor with a conflicted expression, before looking at Lillie with remorseful eyes. ''I'm sorry Lillie. But I don't think I could bear leaving this place. And it's not just because of the whole Feral's Pet or Happiness Bond or whatever else other people call it. Of course I would be sad to leave my Mistress behind. But the real reason I can't bear to leave is because I don't want to go back to being that weird small nebula thing! Being a human again feel so good! I can't bear the tought of leaving my humanity behind again Lillie. I'm sorry!''
The chubby boy was sobbing openly at this point and Lillie took him in a hug. ''It's okay Nebby. Leaving you behind hurt. But asking you to sacrifice your own happiness just so you can be with me would hurt even more. I-I can still visit you from time to time, right?'' She looked toward the Queen for confirmation and felt a flood of relief when she nodded back.
''I'm sorry I was so useless for so long. Everytime you were in danger I felt like such a burden because I couldn't do anything to help you and now I'm even letting you go back out there on your own. I'm such a terrible friend!'' Sophocles said slightly hiccuping between words.
''To be honest I would have been worried if you went into battle for me. So I'm grateful I was the one fighting instead. Beside I'm not going back on my own, I have a new friend with me now. He's never going to replace you, but I still trust him with my life. So believe in him to protect me in your place alright?''
Sophocles hesistated but managed a nod and gave one last tearful smile toward his childhood friend. Lillie gave him one last hug and left the throne room behind once and for all with Taffy following in her steps...
''Oh...I can't say I blame him. If I had been turned into a small weird ball like him and found a way to go back to being a human I would have probably taken it as well. It's going to be weird to not have him around though.'' Ash said with a small frown.
''Yeah, but at least he's happy now. Even if that happiness involve him being a pet for the rest of his life.'' Lillie said with a small conflicted expression.
''Now that I think about it. Isn't it a bit weird that we managed to escape our slavery so easily? The way the general and Xofamai talked about it it seemed like we should basically be emotionally wrecked right now for leaving our masters behind.'' Ash said with a confused creased of his brows.
''Technically you didn't escaped your masters. Lillie still has her former master with her and you bought one out of the two mistress that made you a pet.'' Xofamai stated ahead of them. ''Also most of the Feral's Pets who were traumatized were forcefully removed from their servitude and had their masters killed right in front of them. That probably contributed a lot to their catatonic states. You both chose willingly to get out and all of your former masters are alive and fine.''
Lillie seemed toughtful for a second and then a grin formed on her lips. ''I see... So maybe if we captured the Pokémon who enslaved humans instead of killing them and give those Pokémon to the former Feral's Pet we could manage to reintroduce them to civilisation.''
Xofamai seemed toughtful. ''That could actually work. The problem is that most slaves rescue in the past involved family members who wanted revenge on the Pokémon who had captured and raped their loved ones and I doubt letting their loved one's former rapist live with them in their house would sit well with many of them.''
Lillie winced at that. ''Yeah I could see that being a problem. No matter how hard we try to explain this is the best outcome. People wouldn't want to let a creature that captured their loved ones in their home.
''We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. We've lost enough time in this forest arleady it's time for us to go back doing missions!'' Ash said with a determined fire in his eyes.
''Assuming the General even let you go on a mission after the near heart attack both of you gave her after being captured by wild Pokémon.'' Xofamai replied with a sarcastic smile on his lips.
Ash's face paled as he had completely forgotten how overprotective Magnolia was. ''Oh crap don't tell me we're going to go back to guarding duties again!'' He cried in the heaven and Lillie couldn't help but chuckle at his sillies antics.
It was good to have most of the the gang back together again, she tought with a bittersweet smile...

Subject: Interspecies Breeding
Unlike the animals that used to populate Earth. Pokémon can truly breed with anything they wish to. Even the well known egg groups chart is more of a guideline rather than a true limit. Mamalian Pokémon most often like to breed with other mammals. And birds will often breed with other birds. But breeding between mammals and birds or any other types of Pokémon can and does happen.
It is also believed by some breeders that a Pokémon will always be born as the same species as their mother. But just like the egg chart, that is not the case. There is a higher chance that an egg will hatch a Pokémon of the same species as it's mother but it is just as possible that it will be of the father's species instead.
Female humans in that case are kind of an anomally as women who were impregnated by a male Pokémon will more often birth a baby from the father's species instead of a human baby. Humans born from a Pokémon's father are rather rare and are believed to be the cause of humans who can use psychic powers or the power of aura and the very rare cases of some humans being able to understand Pokémon speech.
Pokémon who marry a human or is born from a human parent are legally given all the same rights as a human person in most civilized regions. As such anyone who want to become the Trainer of such Pokémon must go throught a lot of bureaucratic red tape and be given the clear conscent of the Pokémon in question unless they want to be accused of kidnapping.
