Author's Headnote: Hindsight is 20/20 and I did not know how big the gun would need to be for one-gauge shells. but worry not, I am gonna find a way to write my way out of this inconsistency. How? Well, you'll see.

The Cordavire, December 9, 2174, 15:25 (Military Time), Friday, Bridge

Well, after some explanation... it had left Yang, well... surprised. Given that Yang is right that Cerberus is a secret organization. But she's surprised in the fact that she's working for what can be easily described as the bad guy of a sci-fi movie. From the sounds of it, the operations back on the planet they landed on were fairly moderate. If it was any other branch of the organization, chances are Blake wouldn't be alive right now. And given the apparent DNA results, Weiss wouldn't be alive either. Or if they're purists, neither would Yang or Ruby.

Blake has a deadpanned look, well... Yang assumes that, given that she's basically working for the White Fang again, albeit a more secretive version. She just stormed off to collect bodies because Yang thinks she knows what she's dragged into. Though maybe the White Fang would be a bad analogy, since faunas supremacy, according to Blake's description is in the minority of White Fang membership. Whereas Human Supremacy and Xenophobia is in the majority in Cerberus, according to Haedvin.

Weiss is enraged that she was manipulated by a terrorist organization, in her words. Though, terrorism is supposed to strike fear and attention, not remain in the shadows. Yang's mad too, but also feel mortified that her reckless actions driven the four of them to work for a malicious group. She is surprised that they let the slaves go free, likely to keep up an appearance with Yang and the rest of team RWBY.

However, Ruby seems to be the most impacted by the news. She's always seen herself as the hero or protagonist of a story, but this news just kind of... froze her. Her whole sense of reality is kind of broken right now given she's not responding to anything. Likely processing the fact that she is also 'just another mook' for an organization with ill intentions. She doesn't want to say 'evil' because it's gonna break her sister more than she is right now.

They were still in the bridge, after Haedvin was explaining Cerberus' true goals. Though, after they removed the bodies from the ship and locking it out. Haedvin's in the cockpit operating and communicating through the comms. He figured it'd be best to move out and flee the Citadel now. He's likely gonna fix the eclipse paint job on the ship.

"In and out, huh?" Blake said, mocking Yang.

"Alright, alright, I get it. This is my fault we're here." Yang retorted.

"I believe you owe me an explanation on that." Haedvin objected.

"We'll tell you once we fix Ruby. And contact our boss. I believe she owes us an explanation."

"It's better if you act like you're in the dark, if they know you know of their true intentions. It may make things harder for you."

"Like lying?"

"Lies are essential for putting things toward your own direction. If you are honest toward them, it's going to make it harder for you. There's a subtlety to cunning."

"I prefer charging right in and ask questions later."

"And I assume you're not the leader of this entourage of adolescent humans?"

Yang remained silent... clearly, he has a point there. Yang is not leader material, she's a natural fighter, but not a good leader. Though a team leader is not ideal when she's acting like an old computer that's froze from all of the running apps. Meaning, she's not in the shape to do anything right now.

Weiss had sighed and slapped Ruby in the face and shook her. Which seems to have an effect on her.

"Errr... wha?" Ruby uttered, sounding confused.

"We're working for terrorists." Weiss stated.

"Wait... no no nonononononononononono..." Ruby kept saying, until Blake slapped her again. Yang's just watching out of concern and confusion.

"Ruby. Do you know what Cerberus' intentions are?" Weiss asked.

"Well, they haven't told us what it was..." Ruby stated.

"Weiss, did you just fry her short-term memory?" Yang asked. "Anyways, Ruby. Listen and remember: the people we work for aren't good people, but that doesn't mean they're worse than the grimm. Their beliefs are ill-intentioned, but that doesn't mean you have to be."

"Okay..." Ruby uttered.

"And make sure you do what you think is right, no need to fall into the cookie-cutter model of a Cerberus operative. If anything, avoid that."

"Uh huh..."

"If you are done consoling the young one, call your boss already. Make sure you act dumb." Haedvin reminded the girls.

"Yang doesn't need to act dumb, anyway." Weiss retorted.

"Hey!" Yang objected.

"GIRLS! Be nice. No fighting!" Ruby interrupted.

Despite this, the three of them went into the comm room next to the bridge to patch to Miranda.

The Cordavire, December 9, 2174, 15:34 (Military Time), Friday, Comm Room

The comm room is next to the bridge, separate from the corridors leading to the rest of the ship. Though, Yang has never been on a spaceship other than a small shuttle, so she can't criticize the layout. When the comms was patched through, a hologram of Miranda had appeared.

"A turian ship? Corvette from the first contact war, I take it?" Miranda asked.

"Uhh... sure..." Weiss stated.

"And the pilot?"

"A quarian."

"A quarian piloting a turian ship? Is he affiliated with their fleet?"

"We don't know...? He didn't say he was affiliated with anyone..." Ruby stated.

"Most quarians are affiliated with their central nomadic government, the migrant fleet. Which consists of the descendants of the quarians exiled from their home world during the Quarian-Geth war." Miranda stated.

"I don't think we're heading towards a fleet, no..."

"How interesting. But we're not here to discuss quarian culture, we're here to discuss your mission. You'll be heading to a planet on the attican traverse: Feros." Miranda debriefed.

"Could you give us more detail?" Yang asked.

"It's a planet covered in debris of old cities. Cerberus wants to establish an output there. The city ruins are primed for various colonies for the system's alliance. This mission is purely for scouting. The planet is obviously a former ecumenopolis or city planet built by the protheans, whatever the planet looked like then is unknown." Miranda explained.

"Any relics we should watch out for?" Ruby asked.

"No, most archeologists head to Feros to discover prothean artifacts anyhow. Like I said, this is purely a scouting mission. Worst you could encounter are outlaws here since there isn't much an ecosystem to be rebuilt there."

"So... just explore an ancient city planet to establish a Cerberus outpost? Sounds reasonable enough."

"If we want humanity to settle on Feros, we need to make sure the colony can survive. The base will indirectly aiding any future settlement on Feros."

"Alright, we'll head to Feros as soon as possible." Ruby said, ending the call.

"Okay, so... now what?" Yang asked.

"We head to Feros. We're going to be on that planet for a while it seems, so it seems like a good idea to rest up." Weiss stated.

"Feros, is it? Given that the planet is in the Attican Traverse. Yet again, most of alliance space is in the Attican Traverse." Haedvin commented through the comms.

"What's wrong with the Attican Traverse?" Yang asked.

"It's essentially the buffer zone between Citadel Space and the Terminus systems. Most of the system's alliance is in the Attican Traverse. The Citadel, the system's alliance, and the terminus systems all claim it is part of their territory, it's a neutral zone, so it's in the grey area between them all."

"Woah woah, woah, slow down."

"I forget that you four are green. The galaxy can be divided in five categories. Citadel Space, Batarian Space, the Attican Traverse, The Terminus Systems, and Geth Space. Citadel Space is essentially where most of galactic civilization is, well the law-abiding stuff. Salarian Realm, Turian Hierarchy, and Asari Republics all make up a vast majority of Citadel space, with the Asari Republics. The Salarians say that is not the name of the Salarian government, but the native salarian nation is unpronounceable in human tongues. The home worlds of the Volus, Krogans, Hanar, and Elcor are also in citadel space."

"Uh huh... and I assume Batarian Space is the Batarian territory?"

"Yes, it is south of the System's alliance territory, given the confliction in ideology. With Batarians having a centralized autocratic system, with the alliance being a decentralized confederation of planets. Not to mention their takes on slavery are opposite, and they both claim territory in the same lands. The batarian hegemony does have exclaves around the attican traverse and the terminus systems. Though most of the batarian hegemony is below human space, the reason why Batarians have their own classification is because Batarians do not associate with the Citadel or the Terminus systems."

"Uh huh... what about the Terminus systems?"

"The Terminus systems are the lawless, anarchic and warlord filled territories that refuse to abide by council laws, it is a place inhabited by the lawless and the exiled. Most of the large base of operations of illegal activity are done in these lands and the people raised there are more built for crime and war than anything else. The terminus systems are quite revolting to me, so I almost never go there."

"And Geth Space?"

"Geth space makes up of the former colonies of my people, and their homeworld. They don't expand, and they don't like outsiders, especially quarians, since my people have a long past with the Geth. They also usually shoot anyone on sight."

"I see..."

"Look, I don't like giving out history lessons. This is a one-time thing, make sure you have listened. I'm heading to a nearby space station to fix up this ship before we head to Feros. Being that it's a planet far from the official terminus systems and batarian space, don't expect much non-human settlement. However, I doubt you were given the full story..."

"Alright, I'll be heading to shop while you're fixing up the ship, is that okay?" Yang asked.

"If you don't mind old guns, sure..."

"I might be interested." Ruby stated.

Weiss sighed at that statement.

Boltzmann, Fuel Station, Mini Mart, December 9, 2174, 16:38 (Military Time), Interior

The reason it took so long to get from one star system to another is because appearently Haedvin needed to conserve fuel since the eclispe mercenaries forgot to reload Haedvin's ship on fuel, whatever it is they use for it, that is... so it was nearly empty.

This star system is home to some human settlement trying to expand to citadel space. According to Haedvin. Likewise, there is a fuel station here, which like all of them, have some sort of minimart. Yang had walked into the minimart and looked around, the person running it was a human, athough he had a bad smell and bore bad facial hair and jagged teeth. Not sure why Haedvin regularly visists here. But no less...

"Hey... do you have any shotgun shells?" Yang asked.

"Which gauge ya looking for?" the vendor asked.

"8 or 1 gauge."

"1-gauge shells? Do you know how large theys are?"

"Yes, I once fired a homemade 1-gauge shotgun shell, made a large mess."

"Wells. Very few people make ballistic shells anymore. So theys expensive. The cheapest are Krogan shrapnel shells, mostly just metal spikes packed in a shotgun shell. Theys comes in all sizes."

"Very well, I'll take a couple of those shrapnel shells."

"I donts have them. You can finds them on Tuchanka."

"Then why did you say they're the cheapest?"

"Cuss' theys still being made."

Yang sighed. "Well, how much is the ballistic shells?" She asked.

"Five hundred credits per 12 gauge, goes up by 25 credits per lower number." the vendor stated.

Yang sighed again.

"Do you have at the very least have food?" Yang asked.

"Dis is a minimart, we have food. Just look around and check out with me." The vendor retorted.

Yang turned around and saw all the food. It's mostly junk food; Ruby won't eat store-bought cookies. Nor any store-bought sweets. So, no sweets. Of course, milk is important. Ruby's going to complain that Yang didn't get any milk otherwise. let's see here... cow milk, goat milk, horse milk... Haedvin is also on the store browsing dextro-protein stuff. Well, makes sense since apparently quarians and turians need to eat their own food. Just imagine the drama of human-turian relationships. That's going to be awkward to think about. No less, she grabs half a gallon of goat milk, a pack of eggs, a loaf of whole wheat bread. And a pack of butter. Eggs and toast would be enough until she can get to a grocer. She also grabs a carton of no-pulp orange juice. That's going to be worth 20 credits, and it's enough until Yang can get to a grocer.

She also sees Ruby gathering a bunch of metal and tools... wonder what that's for. Though, she knows what she's doing with her tools. Yang's more with vehicles, specifically cars and motorcycles. The one time she dabbled in weapons is the 1-gauge shell upgrade. It's awesome, but it's far by useless. Being as described, it is not fired in the chamber of her bracelets, radther on top of it, and the immense recoil is enough to kick down even her. Which by note, she's quite hardy when it comes to recoil. Surprised that stunt she pulled didn't rip her arm off, likely her aura keeping her arm attached.

She had checked out the food and went on the ship to store it away.

The Cordavire, December 9, 2174, 16:50 (Military Time), Friday, Kitchen/Dining Room

An addition likely added by eclipse, there's two fridges, though she can't read the writing on them. Likely in the local languages. She took a picture and sent it to haedvin and captioned 'which one is the levo fridge?'

Soon, her arm vibrated and read his response.

'It's the one on the left, can you not read English?' Haedvin asked.

'I don't speak English.' Yang replied.

'That's a first. Just about every human knows English.'

'Couldn't they just use the translator?'

'For one, the translator only translates audio, and some holographic texts... and two, they do use it since some of their people are too stubborn to learn another language from their own species. And three, it only translates human languages. Much unlike the universal translator manufactured like the citadel, though that one only translates audio.'

'So ya, thanks for the translations.'

'If you want to get anywhere in life, I suggest you learn to read foreign languages. It's going to save everyone some more time.'

'Noted.'

No doubt Blake would want to learn to read them too, being a bookworm with the books being ineligible must be torture. Chances are she's likely trying to teach herself English right now. Chances are Ruby and Weiss would need to actually learn the written language too.

As for Yang, she's putting the food away in the left fridge. As said by Haedvin. That should be enough to last them until they get more money and a trip to the grocer. Until then, it's eggs, toast, and orange juice. Which is far better than just sharing a single piece of toast between four people. Though, they're gonna complain after all those trips to the restaurants. But a girl's gotta eat, and hopefully Yang doesn't burn the kitchen, because she's going to be cooking tonight.

Although it's hard to cook in the first place when the kitchen is unrecognizable. Usually anyone can spot a stove or an oven with ease... but not Yang. Because she couldn't find it. Nor could she find the equipment... which... well, this is going to be hard.

She had to look up and take pictures of the stuff she found in the kitchen, trying to learn what they are... and make herself look like an absolute imbecile. After a couple of minutes, she had then read the comments on her post and started to take notes on them immediately... after she was angered by the offensive quips on the forum. She couldn't tell her that she was actually just came to the future, otherwise she'd not only blow her cover, but ruin her online reputation.

Anyways, given that the stove and oven look different than it was on remnant, likely turian design so that would be why Yang didn't recognize it. Since instead of dials, it's switches and the surfaces are triangular, not circular. Not to mention the oven has sliders than doors. And the cooking equipment isn't anything Yang has recognized. Did she get butter? Oh, there it is... she can just find the toaster and just butter it with this spoon thing and call it a day. Ruby's more fluent in culinary skills... but operating a toaster is something even a kid could do... so... what could go wrong?

Just find the toaster... let's see here... this looks toastery-enough... though it has to be inserted in like a disk... both of them. Thankfully the pan like sheet is convenient. she just sticks some bread in there and wait a couple of minutes. Though a slicing sound could be heard... well, she'll find out what that was after it pops. For now, she needs to find something to hold the orange juice. Where are the dishes anyhow? Well, better find out which part of this area holds the cups... is a slider or a door? Does she pull or push? Well, pull obviously. Thankfully there's buttons for these things. The buttons on the drawers being next to eachother, one red... and the other... also red but with a cross on it. The one with the cross being lower... but she doesn't know if it's to mean up or down. And she doesn't know what any of writing says, which all she knows...

So... she presses them to find out. She presses the higher button first... nothing happens. Other than a thump noise. She then presses the lower button... which raises all the drawers and cupboard sliders... who puts the 'up' button lower than the down one? That's just impractical.

No matter, she was looking for the cup-looking dishes. Something to hold orange juice, no pulp with. Yang made sure to grab the no-pulp orange juice, because Ruby doesn't like pulp. Most of the grocery decisions have to revolve around Ruby, because not only she's younger and the team leader, but she's also slightly picky when it comes to food. Weiss prefers vegetarian foods, and Blake likes seafood. However, both of them won't be picky if they can't choose. Ruby... is not like that.

She found some glass cups, made sure there wasn't any side holes in them, and started pouring. Pouring the drinks, the toaster was finished with the bread... only to come up as sliced up and squashed burnt toast. Well at least it's not charcoal. Yang buttered up the burnt toast pieces and put them on plates. She then texted each of her team members to come over.

After some time, Yang... had to crunch down on buttered burnt toast pieces. It isn't glamourous, but a girl's gotta eat. Weiss showed up first... and then Blake with tired eyes... though Ruby's not to be seen. Though Weiss looks disgusted, and Blake looks well... tired. Blake just sat down and ate... though Weiss.

"Do you really expect me to eat that?" Weiss asked.

"At least it's edible, unlike your cooking." Yang retorted.

"Barely... well. Still burnt, only difference is that poorly cooked toast won't get me food poisoning." Blake countered.

"Just eat. Buttered toast and orange juice is all we're having until we visit an actual grocery store."

"Does it have to be burned?"

"Then why don't you cook, then?"

"Fair enough..."

"So... where's Ruby?"

"She's working on something... she grabbed the some of the strange blue dust that seems to work here, along with some materials she got from..."

BOOM!

"Sorry! I was testing some things!" Ruby explained.

"Ya..." Blake uttered.

"I'll go talk to her." Yang said, getting up from the table and chair and went to find Ruby. Chances are she's trying to make ammunition. Yang keeps telling her to buy the stock stuff, but she likes to create non-lethal ammunition for her rifle. How's a gun supposed to be non-lethal? Is she using rubber bullets? Well, whatever she was using, it's enough to kill grimm and make sure people live. Not sure how Ruby does it, though.

"RUBY! FOOD!" Yang yelled.

"SORRY! NEED TO DO SOME MORE EXPERIMENTING!" Ruby counter yelled.

"WELL! HURRY! YOUR FOOD IS GOING TO GET COLD!"

Yang had sighed after that... Yang cares for Ruby. Though she shouldn't have a mindset of a protecting older sister right now because it was Yang's reckless action that brought her here, and not Ruby's. Though she still wants to make sure Ruby is alright. Pretty sure no one other than Haedvin would know what the blue powder is... but whatever is... it can apparently be substituted for dust, according to Weiss. Though she's not sure if handling it would be safe... what are the side effects of exposure?

It's right to think these things. She's in a foreign dimension, after all.

Another explosion can be heard, likely Ruby testing something. She then petal bursted to the kitchen... and stares at her glass...

"No pulp, right?" Ruby asked.

"You know I won't give you pulpy orange juice." Yang stated.

"Just checking." Ruby said, crunching at the burnt toast in a quick fashion. And swallowed it up and chugging the orange juice. Finishing her meal at record time, and bursted back to wherever she was.

"I hope she cleans up those rose petals." Haedvin spoke over the comm.

Yang sighed and went to grab some cleaning supplies to clean the petals herself... because Ruby never cleans up the petals. Just cleaning up as she goes...

The Cordavire, December 9, 2174, 17:16 (Military Time), Friday, Empty Room

There's a couple of empty rooms Yang found here... but this one was likely converted into a makeshift workshop and shooting range. And Yang was right, Ruby was making bullets. The explosions were proof enough... from what she learned, it's mostly because she adds too much dust to the combination.

And here Ruby is... using Gambrol shroud to test her bullets... well, those two guns have different calibers, but she likely didn't want to damage her scythe. Yang was watching Ruby to see the effects of her spoils in action.

"Hmmm... what if I try the lightning dust mix..." Ruby said, mixing the blue powder onto the bullet and preparing to fire the target, only to get another explosion, which Yang took cover for... surprised the gun is still in one piece. Though, it appears it exploded mid-fire. Meaning it exploded after it was shot, but it exploded during flight. Ruby survived, thankfully. Though she appears a bit singed.

"Okay... if I use too little, it doesn't work, if I use too much, it explodes. What if I try gravity dust's recipe as a base?" Ruby asked herself.

And there she was again, experimenting and trying to create ammunition. It's a very time-consuming process... the girl never really had much of a social life to begin with. She mostly spends her time tinkering Crescent Rose, or training. She's a nice girl, but she's a bit awkward when it comes to social ability. Weapons are her thing, she's good with her hands, except when throwing them...

And then watching her fire the round... well, it didn't explode which means she's doing something right. Yang may as well talk to her sister.

"Ruby, you're doing, okay?" Yang asked.

"YANG!" Ruby shouted. "Sorry, I was... uhm..."

"Working on some ammo?"

"Ya..."

"Ruby, don't blow up the ship, you're lucky those explosions didn't damage anything integral, otherwise we'd be suffocating and freezing in the vacuum of space."

"Yes, yes. I get it, sis. You're worried."

"Of course, I'm worried. You're the only family I have here. I don't want anything worse to happen to you here... we're already trapped in this dimension, not to mention we still owe Haedvin an explination. But you're my sister, and my team leader. I don't want you hurting yourself."

"I know... it's just... most of our weapons are quite useless without ammo. And since bullets aren't common here, I'd have to make my own."

"And I saw that... but I think you need to take a rest; you're going to need all the rest you can get for our mission on Feros."

"Then why don't you go to sleep too?"

"Ruby, don't sass me!"

"I'm not tired! And it's 4 PM! I think..."

"But you're hurt! Just wash up and rest."

"Alright fine..."

"That's all I ask of you, right now. Also, why do you have gambrol shroud?"

"I borrowed it from Blake, the gun's quite sturdy in comparison to our other weapons, figured it could survive an explosion."

"Well, make sure you give it back, for now. I'll need to check up on Weiss and Blake. I don't want you firing more guns by the time I get back."

Ruby grumbled as she was heading to the barracks to grab her some spare clothes. And then head for the...

"Reminder, this ship doesn't have a shower built in it." Haedvin stated.

Ruby and Yang then groaned. "Guess I'll have to take a sponge bath again." Ruby retorted in an annoyed tone.

"Don't worry, I already smashed the bathroom camera." Yang stated.

"You know how much credits you owe me?" Haedvin asked.

"You don't need to see me going to the bathroom."

"That is correct, I don't need to, nor want to. But that camera could have been placed anywhere else."

Yang growled at the response...

But no less, Yang needs to head to the barracks herself. She basically doesn't know what time it is anyway, but she'd likely need to wake up at the crack of dawn when she gets to Feros, so she's going to the crew quarters to catch some Z's.

The Cordavire, December 9, 2174, 17:16 (Military Time), Friday, 17:28 (Military time), Crew Quarters

The entire crew sleeps here, mostly because the captain's quarters is apparently locked out of the ship until the ship is fully fixed, and every time it's brought up, there's an argument over who should sleep in it. With the major players being Haedvin and Ruby. She stays out of the conversation, because she doesn't want to betray her sister, nor does she want her team to end up on square one in terms of being in a ship. And having a home. Because as far as Yang is concerned, this is team RWBY's residence until they get back into Remnant, and even then. The four of them might have to repeat first year... thankfully initiation won't be as tough, though chances are team RWBY won't be a thing anymore...

But that's likely the future waiting for Yang. Well, this is assuming they get back to remnant as soon as they're done with Feros, which is likely not the case.

Though, first thing Yang did. She went and claimed a bed for herself and overhearing a conversation involving Blake and Weiss.

"You know, I never thought I'd work for terrorists." Weiss retorted.

"I'm not happy about the situation either, but calling them terrorists is a bit much." Blake objected.

"Their ideology is almost identical to the White Fang!"

"DO NOT compare Cerberus to the White Fang!"

"I just did."

"We've yet to be assigned anything that inflicts terror, and Cerberus isn't in any of the headlines. The point of a terrorism is to cause attention, Cerberus is evading it."

"Still, their ideologies are the same!"

"THEY ARE NOT!"

"Just shut up and kiss already, we have a big day tomorrow!" Yang retorted.

"Why tomorrow?" Weiss asked.

"These ships apparently can go very fast, and Mass Relays speed up space travel. The reason for the delay is because Haedvin's refueling and removing the eclipse paint job on the ship, and then we're heading out."

"I see... well, I'll wait for Ruby to finish up."

"Don't worry, there's plenty of sponges, we don't have to share one this time."

Blake sighed.

"I know, Blake. I know." Yang re-affirmed. "Though, I'm gonna take my sponge bath in the morning, Ruby uses too much water and creates a puddle, of course you know this. Sharing a communal cell with a private bathroom and all."

"Yes... don't remind me." Blake retorted.

"There is some context that I am missing out on." Haedvin commented.

"I'll tell you over comms. It's going to sound silly, but it's true." Yang stated.

Author's Footnote: Well, sorry for the slow upload. A bit busy here. Anyways... some bit of explanation

- Team RWBY were told about the majority of the membership's ideals and goals, from that, they can assume the goal is human supremacy. Which is similar to Cerberus' goal of human dominance, so it's not far off. Though, expect a conversation from Miranda on this in the future.

- The 1-gauge shells are fired from Ember Celicia differently from the standard 8-gauge shells, how? Well, it is a larger shell. We will see in the future.

- And as mentioned, translators aren't going to 100% translate everything, though some people are going to bring up that Liara's ME3 college diploma was in English, and my answer to that is EA.

Now that that's out of the way, the next chapter team RWBY + quarian are going to head to Feros. A bit fast-paced, but hey... I can't come up with more content to write in between these times. So, anyway. Hope you enjoyed the chapter.
