Hey guys, I just wanted to say a very big thank you for coming on this journey with me. I hope you enjoy where we are going with this story. I really can't wait to see what you think, let's jump straight back into it. Much love, RSD xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo.

When we walked into the side room, that Doctor Cameron directed us to before quickly leaving, to Mal's private isolation room my eyes instantly looked into the room, the room could probably have a couple of patients in it but due to Mal's status I knew that they were probably going to keep her on her own. There was a side room which I guessed was a bathroom and there was another bed on the other side of the room, as I looked over the room I was confused as to where Mal was. However before I could pose that question to my parents the big double doors on the right hand side of the room opened and Doctor Cameron and a member of his team walked into the room pushing a stretcher, causing a loud gasp to erupt from my mouth.

Mal still looked so pale, and I don't know if it was due to the oxygen machine, IV drip machines and monitoring machines that was currently attached to her she looked so small and frail in her hospital bed. They had her propped up slightly, and she was now changed into a light blue hospital gown with the hospital blankets placed neatly over her. I watched as they positioned the bed onto the left hand side of the room a short distance away from me due to a chair being in the way, and I couldn't stop relief washing over my body when I saw her head move and she looked weakly up at me.

"Mal?" I stated in relief as I placed one hand against the glass window that was between us. Instead of Mal answering she slowly and very meekly lifted her right hand up and she gave me a thumbs up before he hand dropped back down onto the bed.

"As you can see Your Majesty it is difficult for her to speak-" Doctor Cameron advised as he stepped forward. "We told her not to speak as it will affect her breathing" he explained and I nodded at this.

"How long has she been awake?" I heard my mother ask.

"Not long" Doctor Cameron answered. "Around half an hour" he added. "This is the strongest she has been since she was brought in here" he advised.

"Ok" my mother answered.

"Thank you Doctor Cameron" I said not taking my eyes from my wife. "Sorry if I was snapping or shouting at you or your staff" I quickly added as I tore my eyes from Mal and quickly looked over to him before quickly looking back over to Mal.

"It's ok" he dismissed. "You weren't really doing either" he added kindly. "You could just tell that you were anxious, which is understandable" he continued as he looked over to Mal. "The Queen is loved by the whole Kingdom" he said as he smiled at Mal and she winked back at him in response. "I'll update you soon" he told us all, before he quickly left the room.

"You scared me baby" I said sadly, and I watched as she pursed her lips together under the oxygen mask before I saw her mouth the word 'sorry'. "No need to be sorry my love" I dismissed. "The main thing is you are getting the care you need" I meekly smiled. Again Mal lifted her right hand up and gave me another right hand before it dropped back down, I couldn't help but note how much of an effort it was to do this for her and I could also tell that she was in pain - which only broke my heart to see her like this. Yes it still scared me that Mal had Covid, but the fact she now was awake did somewhat give me some relief. However I wasn't never going to be completely happy until we got word that she was Covid free, so I could have her back in my arms - where she belonged.

"Mal" I said after I looked over to her after I had just received a text from Evie requesting that she, Jay and Carlos facetimed us. I watched as Mal looked over to us meekly as I bit down nervously on my bottom lip. "Evie wants to face time with Jay and Carlos" I explained and I watched as she continued her blank and weak look on her face. "Is that ok?" I questioned and I watched as a very weak smile spread across her face before giving me a thumbs up.

"Ok" I said as I quickly turned my facetime on and quickly rang Evie. When the call opened I noticed that Evie was sitting on the couch in her apartment with Jay and Carlos flanking both her sides.

"Ben!" Evie quickly exclaimed. "How is she?" she quickly asked.

"She's Covid positive" I explained and I watched the three of their faces dropped in concern. "She's awake now, but she's very weak" I added as I pursed my lips together. "And she needs to keep the oxygen mask on" he continued. "So she can't talk, she's just giving hand signals" I finished.

"Ok" Jay answered as both Carlos and Evie nodded at this.

"She's in the room next to me, and there is a wall of glass between us" I stated. "I can't-" I sobbed as tears started to form in my eyes. "I can't be in the same room with her" I sniffed as I wiped my eyes with my left hand.

"Ben she's in the right place" Carlos told me sympathetically.

"I know" I answered. "It's still hard being this close" I confirmed.

"I get that dude" Jay interjected.

"Ok" I nodded as I stood up and stepped closer to the glass. "Here she is" I added as I held my phone up to the glass. "Can you see her?" I questioned.

"Move it down slightly" I heard Evie say, and I did this and I must have had moved my phone into the right position as I heard all three of them gasp.

"Oh Mal!" I heard Carlos sadly sight but I saw Mal hold a very meek and weak thumbs up again. As I watched as Mal shared a face time with her family I continued to feel my heart break for her. I know it was hard for me and my parents to see Mal like this, but it was also going to be hard for Evie, Jay and Carlos also. At least we could be here with Mal to some degree, however I think the hospital was currently being very accommodating to me and my family. But I knew at some point we may have to withdraw from the hospital - and this wasn't something that I don't think I would ever be ready for.
