Jeremy was the last one of the students to enter the classroom. He had gotten lost trying to figure out the map to get to the 1-A room.

He would be lying if he said he slept peacefully. But he'd also never admit to having felt uncomfortable being away from home. Being a 'mama's boy' had plagued him his whole life.

All of his classmates turned to him as he entered. Some of them were standing in groups while others sat and waited.

Jeremy chose a seat in the front. To his left was the girl that had greeted him and his mother yesterday and to his right were two boys talking about a woman's hips. They had no shame in their explicit detail on what should be done with said hips.

When the teacher walked into the room everyone's heads turned to the man. His hair was long down his back and a portion of it covered half of his face. Not enough though for his eyepatch and scars to not be noticed though.

The man didn't limp but it could be heard that he had a heavy step.

One of the boys that were next to Jeremy spoke.

"Is this our teacher?" He speaks to the other boy next to him, "He looks fucked."

"If you're worried about having physically altering injuries then you don't need to be here." The man's tone made the room deaf. Jeremy could swear he could hear his own blood racing.

But the man wasn't wrong. The memory of his mom's pained face as she faced himself and the other children during the attack never faded. It was a memory as burned into his skull as the scar on his mother's back.

The boy next to him mumbled an apology.

The teacher sighed, closed his eye and rubbed his temples, "You all have so much to learn."

Aizawa looked out at the students. He recognized some of them from the exams. This year was the largest group they've had of students taking the exams.

An influx of youth wanted to be heroes and with so many that had been lost it seemed that now we needed them.

"We're wasting time. I'm your teacher, Shota Aizawa." Before he could continue he heard a snicker from a boy in the front. A different one than the one who commented on his appearance, "Get your gym uniform on and meet me outside."

Aizawa had the students outside for their Quirk Assessment Test. While some of them gruffed at

missing the entrance ceremony a majority of them seemed to look forward to showing off their quirks.

It didn't take long to figure out which students had had training with their quirks prior. Thorn, Masashi, and Yama being the most aware of their abilities while Tsumi, Itsuki, and Kimiko were less aware of how to use their quirks to their greatest potential.

This was the first class that Aizawa had that held a rational seriousness to engage with their quirks. He could only think that it was due to the recent catastrophic events.

Jeremy watched as his fellow classmates around him used their quirks.

Ami Tsumi's quirk was both the creation and manipulation of water. She seemed to be the smartest in the class but definitely the weakest with her quirk. What she lacked in ability she made up in other ways.

She could have made a wave of water to help her with her runtime but instead made a water base on her shoes and elegantly skated across.

Haru Itsuki's quirk is plants and he specifically only makes vines come out of his hands. He was also one of the guys commenting on the curves of women.

The other classmate that made the comments with him was Kenji Yo, whose quirk was simply strength.

Then there was Daichi Yama with earthquake, Kaito Kimiko with levitation, Mako Masashi with fire, Sarah Fumiko had lizard characteristics while Izumi Torma had tiger ones, and Suki Kato's quirk had her screaming like a banshee.

Jeremy knew that he did well on the test. When he saw he was at the top it wasn't a huge surprise. But he didn't have the assumption because of his ego or anything. His mom had been doing these same tests with him for a few years now. Every 6 months they'd go to a field and do them.

Now he wondered if it was for this very reason.

He couldn't help the smile that spread on his lips as he thought about his mothers actions.

"You were at the top. How'd you get so good with your quirk?" Itsuki draws the attention of Jeremy and most of the class.

"My mom's actually an alumni of UA and for as long as I've shown interest in being a hero she's helped me out with training. It helps that we both have a wind quirk."

Itsuki had green hands that faded into his skin tone just before his elbows. His green hands were fisted and at his hips as he spoke, "That's really awesome. What year did she graduate?"

Jeremy heard the bite in the question. Like he was accusing Jeremy of making it all up. "Her last year at UA was 20XX." He decided to answer the guy regardless of his tone.

But it was the tone and growing tension that drew Aizawa into eavesdropping. Taking note of his graduation year.

"You're really good. That means she must be really good. So, that means she's a pro hero right?"

Jeremy's brows were knitting together, "What's your deal? The assessment wasn't a competition. It's a tool for ourselves to see our progress."

Aizawa thought about intervening but was intrigued by the boy's words.

Jeremy jesters to the board where Itsuki is near the bottom, "Where you're at doesn't mean you're any better or worse than any of us. It's a placement for you to make yourself your own competition."

Aizawa could see the envy turn to embarrassment turn into anger on the vine quirk student.

The student scoffs, "You know students have been expelled in the past for being at the bottom of the list. Not everyone has an UA alumni Mommy to-" Aizawa could basically see the light bulb go off on the student. The boy's lips turned into a twisted smile. He had the feeling he was going to have to intervene. "Alumni of 20XX?"

Jeremy saw the click. The math take place. At most the guy would assume his mother was a third year who at least graduated before becoming pregnant.

There was a rush of air around both of the boys. They were suddenly wrapped in a binding scarf. Jeremy noticed that the teacher had skillfully wrapped them so that both of their mouths were also covered.

"You're green enough Itsuki. Jealousy isn't a very good trait for a hero." Aizawa eyes the boy with green hands. He also notices that he had blonde hair that was longer than his ears with scattered green streaks and mini braids in it.

Raising his voice for all of the class to hear, "Thorn is correct. These scores are a tool. You all can only go up from here." He also lets out a heavy sign, "Itsuki is also correct. In the past I did expel students for many reasons." He looks around making point for every new student to see him, "So don't give me one."

Aizawa looks again at the Thorn kid. He had pink hair and sharp eyes. The math and his name correlate with Principal Nezu's story from their meeting. Aizawa didn't believe in coincidences.

Kokyu kept her hair in a short bob for years. The moment she learned that children like to pull hair she got it cut.

At the moment that didn't seem to matter to the child that was strapped to her back.

Gabe was giggling and putting his fingers in the hair that was at the nape of her neck. It wasn't pulling but every now and then there was a tug that Kokyu gritted her teeth through.

She hadn't imagined that she'd be walking across the campus so soon after bringing Jeremy. In fact she never really envisioned herself ever stepping foot onto the grounds again. It wasn't till her son said that this was his top school that it became a possibility.

The walk to the infirmary brought back memories from when she was still attending the school.

"Recovery Girl!" Her friend Shino called into the infirmary as her other friend Takashita carried her bridal style.

Recovery Girl finished with her current student and turned toward the new ones. Just from the looks of it the young girl had broken her ankle.

Kokyu showcased her teeth through a tight smile to hide the pain that she was feeling. Her long pink hair was frizzy and from this point on she might start to braid the hair.

"Place her on the bed." The woman motioned to the bed that was across the room.

Takashita turns and without notice of Kokyu's body, her broken ankle hits the doorframe.

The tight smile that she had on her face was gone and replaced with a loud curse the hissed.

Kokyu smiled at the memory as she now stood in that same spot again just years later. It was a bit surreal for her and being in the space made her feel like her adolescent self.

"Oh, your little one seems to have fallen asleep." The elderly woman spoke as she addressed the child on Kokyu's back.

"Yeah. I timed everything just right. I think I may take him to see his Papa before leaving."

"Would you like for him to nap in our children's ward? We have mats and I'm sure the attendant wouldn't mind."

Kokyu momentarily drew a blank. A children's section?

"That won't be necessary. He is in my care and thus my responsibility at the moment. I do appreciate the offer though." Kokyu answered professionally even if in the back of her head she felt uncomfortable with the situation.

A children's section?

"We're going to be heading to a meeting room where Hound Dog will be. Sorry for the change in location Dear. Principal Nezu had also said that he wanted to be attending." With that Kokyu nodded her head and followed Recovery Girl through the hallway.

She found herself looking back at the clinic's door in fondness.

"That's him isn't it?" Shino whispered in Kokyu's ear. Her friends short dark hair tickling at her now blushing cheek.

The boy that Recovery Girl was just attending sat at the edge of a cot across the room. He was wearing a black jumpsuit and had a capture scarf around his neck. His dark hair a bit longer than when she had first seen him last year. It was almost touching his shoulders now.

"What are we whispering about?" Her other friend, Takashita, whispered on the other side of her.

Kokyu wanted to hide. She wanted to make a tornado come in and suck her up out of there.

"That's Aizawa-Senpai over there. He's in 3-A." Shinso said while nudging Kokyu.

Takashita turned to look across the room. Kokyu grabbed his sleeve at his bicep.

"Don't look. What if he sees us?" Kokyu angrily whispered.

Takashita lifted an eyebrow, "Besides him, we're the only ones in here. He knows we're here."

"He's right." Shino whispered back and then with the audacity of the wing woman she was, she turned toward the boy across the room, "Hello, Aizawa-Senpai!" She even waved her hand enthusiastically.

The boy's face turned upward towards them?

But before he said or did anything two more boys burst into the room.

The rest of the Three Dumbigos. Getting all of Aizawa-Senpai's attention. And all Koyku could think about was..

"Oh my gosh. My hair looks fried." She groaned into her hands.
