Kokyu was blushing and she couldn't remember the last time she felt this type of embarrassment.

She quickly turned from her laughing son to the now irritated looking man.

"That's not to say that you're not a great teacher. I'm sure that you're a great teacher. I'm just surprised. It's been a long time." She said as she looked over the mature face. The scruff that lined his jaw that was now more angular with the loss of his baby fat.

His hair probably hadn't been cut but maybe a few time in the last 15 years and it had a few strands that hung over his face. A face that bore the scars of a hero that fought hard. The wounds that Kokyu could only assume were soul deep.

"I'm sorry. Do we know eachother?" The man's face was now unreadable and the very question broke her teenage heart.

Her son would just calmed down bites his lip at the situation. Jeremy could almost feel the second hand embarrassment. To be fair his mother did say that the third years didn't pay attention you any of the other hero classes.

But it still had to feel a bit like rejection to hear the words in person. He watched as his mother shook her head as if the shake was going to dust off the red blush.

"I'm sorry. I'm Kokyu Thorn and your were my senpai a long time ago." Kokyu places her hand on Jeremy's shoulder, "I had mentioned to Jeremy in the past how I had thought you were a great Senpai and would make a great hero." Saying the words aloud was both humiliating and freeing, "But it would be presumptuous of me to assume that I know you." She turns away from Aizawa to Nezu. "Today is about disciplinary action for Jeremy."

"Yes." Principal Nezu turns to Jeremy, "Start from the beginning." The mammal stated as he pushed a book across the desk.

Kokyu saw the familiar yearbook and dropped her hand from her son's shoulder. She already knew where this was going.

Aizawa was leaning against the wall again watching the mother and son. Their interactions were by far a healthier dynamic then the last one that was in the room.

He eyed the woman who said that she vaguely knew him. He didn't feel bad about not knowing her or remembering her. But if he thought hard enough he could remember pink hair. Maybe.

"I walked into the classroom and Itsuki was showing the class the yearbook." The room waiting for the boy to continue.

"He was making comments about my mother in the book."

"What kind of comments?" Nezu pressed.

Aizawa watched the boy slouch into the seat, "The she was hot."

"That couldn't have been what would have angered you enough to start a fight." Nezu turned to the first ripped page.

Aizawa didn't pay attention to the yearbook with the Itsuki family but now he was curious. The first one was of Thorn's mother as a teenager in her hero uniform. The hero name Thornado in the caption. It was familiar but Aizawa also didn't want to be caught observed too closely.

Nezu turns to the next ripped page, he did recognize the two heroes standing with the woman's younger self. Takashita patrolled the nearby area and the other woman was Shino Sosaki, Mandalay who was part of the Wild, Wild, Pussycats.

Kokyu felt a stab of the symbolic pain of the rip separating herself and her two childhood friends. She turned to Jeremy waiting for him to speak.

"Thorn." Nezu nudges the boy to talk.

"He said that she lost her career because of me." He said the words quietly but they all heard the words.

"Jeremy." Kokyu said his name softly.

Aizawa could hear that this was a sour topic for the family.

"No, Mom!" The boy shouted and stood from his seat. Losing his soft, kind, and carefree demeanor that Aizawa had observed, "He basically called you a whore. He talked about Takashita and he." The boys voice was breaking, "He said that. He was saying that you sleep with villians. That-"

"Jeremy. Sit down." The womans voice was strong and stern. Aizawa watched at the body obeyed his both, "Look at me." And the boy did water clearly in his eyes that the boy refused to let fall, "This will be the last time I ever tell you this."

Implying to Aizawa that this topic had a history. The woman almost sounded anger about having to repeat herself.

"Get over it." The boys eyes went wide.

"What?"

"You heard me. Get over it. It's not going to go away. You want to be a hero? Take the good with the bad."

This was definitely different then what he was expecting. But the mother was thinking rationally and being upfront with her son. There were many times where Aizawa thought he was the first adult bring the blunt reality to being a hero to his students.

"But-"

"No, Jeremy. You won't talk to me like that. And this boy? He wasn't the first." She looked him square in the face, "And he won't be the last." She takes the yearbook, "This. This was today. You want to be a hero? There business isn't just in an old yearbook. It's everywhere Jeremy. Truth and lies."

Aizawa took a moment to look at Principal Nezu who shoot his head to let this conversation continue.

"Your mom was a UA dropout due to teen pregnancy. Your father did end up being a villian. But Jeremy, I do have a career and I got to protect you kids and I got to kick that man's ass and send him back to Tartarus. So please. Get over it and stop fighting my fight."

The room was quiet. There really didn't seem like there was much to say after what the woman had said. Aizawa had read all of what she said in Jeremy Thorn's file but hearing the confidential words being spoken aloud was completely different.

Knowing how much it impacted the boy filled in the blanks in his observations. Jeremy Thorn was someone who fought hard when he needed to but he always prioritized rescuing over the actual act of fighting.

Aizawa cleared his throat, "For fighting in the classroom you'll be on dorm cleaning duty for the next week. Your shift will be the opposite of Itsuki's doing night shift while he does mornings. You'll also be writing a formal apology to Itsuki."

The boy nodded his head in agreement to his punishment. He heard a shuffle and a kick, "Yes Sir." The boy then spoke while looking at his mother who nodded in approval.

"You are dismissed Thorn." Nezu spoke. Both his student and the mother started to rise, "I'd like a word with you, Ms. Thorn."

Aizawa adjusted himself. He was tired and was ready to leave. The eye roll and sigh of the woman said that she was also wanting to leave.

The door opens as his student departs. Aizawa was going to follow behind but didn't get the chance as the new traffic came into the room.

So leaned against the corner of the room shutting his eye and hoped to be ignored.

"Is Jeremy in trouble? Are we going to be back in time for when Mr. Takashita drops off Matt. I need a rematch today. You didnt tell Jeremy that Matt beat me did you? " Aizawa eavesdrops on the conversation. It was a bit reminiscent of the days when Eri was still around.

"Yuki. Not now. Okay? Jeremy did get in trouble, we will be back on time, and I did not tell Jeremy just like you requested. This is Principal Nezu and he has something he'd like to say to me."

"Is it about the you moving work to UA?" He hears the girl.

"Probably."

"So you're thinking about it?" He hears the smile in Mirio's voice.

The woman groans, "Nezu. Did you put him up to this?"

Kokyu watches as the mammal stands on his desk now with his paws behind his back.

"Actually Ms. Thorn, Mirio came to me with the UA Quirk & Child Care proposition himself. It was the same day that you informed me of how little resources there are for young heroes and heroes that are single parents. You have your hero license and have been helping the children with there quirks." The mammal makes a hand motion to Mirio, "And now its been brought to my attention just how much quirk discrimination happens to young children in the child care system."

Mirio speaks, "People choose you because you have a hero license. Most child care services are civilian run. UA is known for having its all hero staff. We could extend and help kids other then the teens."

Aizawa feels a tug on his pants leg. Looking down he sees that Rock Lock mini me had made way to him. The chubby hand signaling to be picked up. Aizawa couldn't help buy comply. He also didn't want the child to start crying.

"Would that mean I would be at UA?" The young girl speaks and stands on the chair infront of Kokyu.

Nezu nods his head, "You'd be in the children's part but yes."

The girls voice was quiet in her next words, "So I can be a hero one day like my Dad was."

Kokyu wraps her arms around Yuki, "Your Dad was an amazing hero and he didn't go to UA."

"But Momo did andmy Dad would talk about how well a student she was."

Aizawa watched the soft smile on the woman's face, "Yeah. Majestic spoke very highly of all the people he worked with." The woman turns to Mirio, "Could you take Yuki outside for a moment?"

Mirio nods and the girl almost refuses.

When the door shuts the women whips her head to Nezu, "Stop making this idea sound like a good one. I'm not going to stick a bunch of little kids together to trauma bond."

"That's not at all what we'd be doing." Nezu tries to talk.

"I have been watching children like Yuki for years. Children who lose there parents due to heroism. Gabe whose mother has PTSD from the events from two years. There are more patrols then ever and I have them as young as infants to the age of 13 in my home because their parents are single or aren't ranked high enough. And I'm the only licensed hero that offers what I do. I watch these kids bond over their trauma. I've watch my son bond over it."

She slaps her hands on top of the desk and Aizawa is almost tempted to put the child down and bind the woman.

"It's hard to help these kids because they don't heal easily when it's their trauma that's helping them making people. Helping them fill the void."

Aizawa though about how this year's new students had been so different from all the years past and the only normal teenage thing that's happened thus far was the fight the Thorn and Itsuki had.

"Ms. Thorn might be right." He looks at Rock Locks mini me tugging on his scarf, "We need to help these new generations be kids again."

Kokyu had almost forgotten that the man was on the room. It through her off that he spoke and agreed with her. But not as much as how naturally he was holding the child in his arms.

Nezu sighed, "I understand your concerns Ms. Thorn. That's why I suggested you for the job. I've heard great things about you from Rock Lock and I've seen Aizawa's reports on young Thorn. You're an excellent quirk instructor for the youth. I have faith that with you, Mirio Togata, and Shino Sosaki at the leads you'll all be about to provide the happy, healthy, and healing environment that the kids need."

Kokyu jerks her head, "Shino?"

Nezu nods his head and pushed the yearbook that's in the table infront of the woman. Aizawa could see the manipulative tactic.

The woman touches the yearbook, "You three were best friends while at UA." The mammal speaks softy, "She has a nephew that would be here." The man shuts the book, "Mirio told you about Eri. And you have the children you watch and I'm sure there are others. We will accept drop offs I the evening just as you have for as long as their licenses are updated to the new standard that are out. We have a whole dorm that I have ready for the proper renovations. And you wouldn'tbe the only one on staff. You'd have free time for yourself. "

The room was quiet. Aizawa even had to admit the the negotiations sounded good.

The woman stands and walked toward him to receive the toddler.

"I need to go. I have a drop off soon." She was at the door about to leave.

"Ms. Thorn, I know that UA holds hard memories for you. I can not fix me mistakes from the past. But maybe it's time you take your own advice."

The woman doesn't turn around, "and what advice is that?"

The mammals voice is serious and even. A tone Aizawa didn't hear often. A complete contrast to his usual. "Get over it."

Her eyes widened and Aizawa could see it sink in at her eyes went back to normal and she continued out the door.
