The sound of the smack against Lexi's face was drowned out by the sound of bikes roaring into the lot. Lexi didn't even have the chance to react as she felt arms wrapping around her pulling her backwards out of Wendy's grip. Looking around at who pulled in, she noticed her brother and Happy quickly dismounted their bikes not even getting into the line up, both attempting to dissolve the issue at hand. Jax reached Wendy before Happy reached Lexi and started pulling her back from where Kozik had ahold of his sister. Taking a deep calming breath, a familiar scent filled her nose and she knew she was being passed from Kozik's arms into her man's own.
"I didn't do shit Hap," she quickly defended herself hearing Wendy screaming at her brother.
"Didn't ask if you did," Happy grumbled down at her. Directing his next words at Kozik, he asked, "Why the fuck is she even out here and alone? I asked you to keep an eye on her."
"I just wanted to sit outside. Get some fresh air. I can't sit in the dark musky clubhouse all day," Lexi interrupted hating Kozik was on the bad end of Happy's shit list when it wasn't his fault. She didn't even know he was here and supposed to keep an eye on her. "The bitch pulled in and started flipping out. I was seriously just sitting here."
"I'm sorry Brotha, I was still sleeping. Thought I'd be able to get a few more hours in. I figured she was still resting like you told her. Someone was supposed to wake me when she was up and about. Next thing I know, Bec's running into my room screaming about how Wendy had attacked Lex," Kozik explained.
"That little cunt started it. She always does, then she gets away with fucking murder." The sound of Wendy getting backhanded by Jax reverberated through the parking lot.
"One, don't you dare talk about my sister like that. Two, she's fucking injured and pregnant. How dare you think it's okay to put hands on her? You know the fucking rules. If she steps out of line, you come to me and I go to her old man. Not this cat fighting bullshit," Jax scolded Wendy as she picked herself up from the ground.
"Jax, I di--" Wendy's words were cut off by Happy as he stomped towards her.
"Touch my Old Lady again and Jax will be the last of your fucking worries," Happy snarled in Wendy's face. "I will fucking get rid of your sorry dope head ass so quickly no one will know what happened. You will be gone without a trace. Never to be seen or heard from again. I will break every single bone in your body. Then start slicing just close enough to your arteries you'll bleed out but slowly until every ounce of blood is gone. All before I start chopping you into pieces and running you through a wood chipper to dispose of the evidence. Remember that."
"Let's get you inside babe. Your arm looks like you may have ripped your stitches," Happy said turning back to Lexi like he hadn't just gone off the deep end with Wendy. He started to lead her into the bar room closely followed by Kozik.
Lexi wasn't one for the abuse of the club. Everyone knew it. Sure she might go rounds herself from time to time, but there was something different seeing a member hit a woman. Especially when that member was her brother, whether Wendy had it coming or not.
The thing that had Lexi worked up currently though was Happy's reaction to Wendy's threats. She knew what he did for the club but had never heard him be so outright about his torture practices. Lexi knew he'd never hurt her, but the man who reared his ugly head was a different man then she knew. He kept a tight grip on her keeping her close as they went inside. Upon entering, Lexi saw Rebecca sitting at the end of the bar nervously chewing her nails.
"Lexi, are you okay? I brought the first aid kit just in case."
"I'm fine," Lexi replied shortly. Why was this bitch even worried? It's not like she had done much to help.
"Attitude, Lex," Happy scolded taking a seat at the bar and starting to work on cleaning her arm.
"I'm sorry I didn't react sooner. This all could have been prevented. Fuck I should have got Kozik as soon as I saw you were up and she pulled in. She always has to start some drama when she doesn't think the guys are around and she seems to have it out for you. It's just we've all been told by Jax to leave Wendy to her own devices I didn't think she'd do this. Especially to you of all people," Bec continued to ramble on as she grabbed Happy and Kozik a beer. "Do you need a drink?"
"Get her a water," Happy commanded before starting to look at the blood leaking through the bandage on Lexi's arm.
"Got it." Rebecca grabbed Lexi a water and set it in front of her before moving away and getting a few beers for the other members who had filtered in after parking their bikes and watching the show.
Pulling the bandage off Lexi's arm, Happy could see the damage that had been caused to her stitches. They hadn't ripped out but the pulling motions had separated them and starting the flow of blood. Cleaning off most and stopping the blood, Happy made quick work readjusting them so there would hopefully be little to no scarring.
"Go shower. Your arm needs cleaned and I need to put my bike in it's proper spot before it gets hit. I'll bandage you up when you're done," Happy told her. Lexi just nodded her head and stood from her stool.
"I'm sorry Hap. I really didn't intend to act out this time though."
"I'm not mad with you, it's Wendy's fucking ass and the situation. Just get cleaned up please." As soon as she had walked away from earshot, Happy turned his attention towards Kozik. "See what I mean man? Can't leave the girl alone for a few hours and she's brawling"
"This time really wasn't her fault though. Wendy's always trying to lay hands on someone lately especially Lex. I'm sure if Bec wasn't so terrified about the rules Jax gave them, she would have just separated them herself but she knows she's on thin ice with Lex after last night anyway."
"Yeah but still. I need to know I can leave her alone. Shit like today, shows me I can't."
"Hap, she's fine. If it comes to blows we both know your girl can handle her own. Even if she's pregnant. Right now, she's in the safety of the clubhouse she could be. We will make sure you or I are always with her so Wendy can't lash out again." Kozik was trying to be level headed for Happy's sake. He knew if he let his friend continue to ponder this, that backhand Jax gave Wendy would be the last of their worries. Happy would act out on his threat and possibly more. "Go get your bike. I got your girl."
"Thanks Koz. The shit she's told me, idk who I'm okay leaving her with here. I'm just glad we have you on our side," Happy told his brother in arms as he finished his beer and walked away.
Making his way out the door, Happy saw Jax still arguing with Wendy only now at her car. The woman seemed like she had gone off the deep end again but Jax was refusing to listen to any of them when they brought it up. Happy mounted his bike and started moving it into his parking place in line. Right as he got it backed into the line up, he heard Wendy's door slam and her tires squeal as she pulled speeding out of the lot. Jax made his way to Happy as made his way back inside.
"Lexi good?" He asked.
"Yeah, just stretched the stitches from the looks of it,. Get your bitch in check?"
"Don't call her that man. Her and Lex just don't get along. They've always been volatile. But I told her to stay gone if she can't get along with Lex. She doesn't need any added stress with the baby."
"She attacks my girl, your pregnant sister, again, she's going to answer to me. Rules be damned," Happy told Jax. "I brought Lexi here because you all said you were worried about her safety. Since being here she's been attacked two different times, and let's not forget shot. I'm done playing games. If the shit doesn't end, we're gone whether the job is finished or not. I'm done putting her and the baby at risk."
"I shut her down. She won't be an issue," Jax defended. "Lexi is safe here."
"We'll see."
