As they were walking out of the clubhouse and towards his bike Happy couldn't help but notice Gemma watching them from TM's office when he scanned the parking lot. Lexi's death grip on his hand said she saw it to. Leaning down to give her a kiss on the top of her head he whispered "Don't worry about her. She's testing her boundaries."

A nod of the head his only answer as he handed her his helmet and swung his leg over his bike.

"Where are you two love birds off to?" Gemma asked walking across the parking lot towards them.

"Out," Happy answered gruffly as Lexi climbed on the bike behind him seeming to fit to his back perfect.

"Be careful with my babies."

"He always is, Ma," Lexi told her mother with an eye roll as Happy started the bike. Tightening her grip, she scooted herself closer as he pulled out of the lot.

With the rush of the wind whipping at her face and the warm sun beating down on her, Lexi could feel herself quickly relaxing. As they left town and made their way onto the highway Happy removed his hand from the handle bar to hold her knee, just enjoying the ride. Lexi had missed the rides they took like this. Once she became pregnant Happy was reluctant about how often they went out for rides on his bike. Even with his hate for cars. Not so much worried with his own driving but insisting he couldn't trust the other drivers and he didn't want to chance putting her and the baby at risk.

When they pulled into the parking lot of the boardwalk, Happy did a quick once over checking for bikes or any other signs of enemies. Once he felt okay with their surroundings he proceeded to pull into a parking spot before killing the engine on his bike and helping Lexi off. Her safety always became his number one concern when she was with him. He knew he could handle his own if he only had himself to worry about but he had a tendency to lose control when she was around unwarranted attention. After removing her helmet and hanging it from his handlebars, Lexi made a beeline for the beach not even waiting to see if Happy followed.

He watched as she ditched her shoes at the edge of the sand and ran like a child towards the water not even bothering to roll up her jeans. Bending down he grabbed her shoes as he slowly followed, lighting a cigarette along the way. The smile on her face as she reached the water and let it run over her feet soaking her jeans was the only thing he needed to see to know she was finally relaxing. Happy dropped her shoes a few feet back and wrapped his arms around her from behind.

"Careful, my Old Man is around here somewhere and tends to get jealous easily," she joked with a straight face.

"Well I don't see a ring, maybe he should get on that."

"Nah he'd rather ink me as a constant reminder and a warning for others to stay away," Lexi replied with a giggle.

"Damn right I would," Happy told her tightening his grip and starting to kiss at her neck.

"Hap...No fair...Stop it...You're going to get me riled up and you already know you won't give me what I want."

"Hmm, you started it when you thought you were being funny," He told her continuing to kiss up and down her neck. He started to pull away when he heard her let a moan escape and lean closer into his body. Her actions instantly making his member throb and harden. Picking up her shoes and wrapping his arm over her shoulder, he kissed the crown of her head and started leading her down the beach. "You act like I'm a bad guy or something."

"Never but you're definitely a fucking tease," she grumbled at him tucking her hand in his back pocket and following his lead down the beach.

They walked for about a mile before Happy started to guide them back to his bike. He hadn't checked the time but he knew she'd want to get cleaned up before heading to her parents for family dinner. She'd been quiet during their walk. He could tell from her body language something was eating at her. She had been relaxing, leaning into him as they walked. Just watching the water, kicking at it occasionally when the waves would crash over their feet.

"What is it?" He asked deciding not to wait on her indecisiveness anymore as they neared the parking lot and his bike.

"Hmm?"

"Don't play dumb."

"I'm just thinking." She trailed off.

"About?" He asked getting annoyed at the way she was avoiding what was bothering her. "Baby if you don't want to go tonight we don't have to. We can stay in, just us."

"You know we can't skip it. Family dinner means everyone. Including the scorned daughter and her lover."

"Stop calling yourself that shit! I said it earlier and I'll say it again. We're SAMTAC. We aren't required to be at family dinners here. I'm loyal to the club and mother charter but my main loyalties will lie at home. Not here with your parents badgering on about our choices."

"Hap you seriously don't get it," she whispered shaking her head.

"Fuck Lex what do you want from me? I'm fucking trying but I'm also getting pretty sick of this pity me bullshit. I didn't fall for this weak ass bitch you've been since being told you have to be here." After his outburst, Happy pulled his arm from around her and walked to his bike.

"Fuck you Happy Lowman," She screamed at his back. When he didn't turn around she continued screaming, "You have no fucking idea how hard this shit has been on me! I always said I wouldn't have kids. I didn't want to pass on the flaw and look what I did. First time out of the fucking gate. Never wanted to be with a member. I never wanted a life in the club. But yet here I am in one with you of all people! I know you'll never leave. Even if we're SAMTAC, they'll still have pull over us!"

"Life so fucking rough with me? I make you that fucking miserable? Huh? All I've ever done is look out for you and your safety!" He snarled back at her, quickly losing his temper without meaning to. "I'm not the one who told me to come stay with her that night, I'm not the one who initiated sex the first time or continued it a month later. Don't play fucking innocent here Lexi. You fucking chose this shit too."

"You still came back! Every damn week. You didn't ever stop yourself from joining me in my bed!" She was now standing chest to chest with him. Lexi could see the anger flaring in his eyes. She was terrified of what might happen but she didn't back down. She couldn't. Something had overtaken her and it's like she wasn't in control of her body. "I'm not stupid. The only reason you put up with me is because you feel guilty for knocking up the SAMCRO princess. Well don't worry, I'll make things easier on you. I'm done! No longer your fucking problem!"

With a finality in her voice and her final words she turned and stomped away from him. They had started to gather a crowd and the last thing she needed was someone reporting back to her father. She started searching her pockets to find her phone to order a cab. After what just happened there was no way she was getting on his bike with him.

"Lexi get your fucking ass back here!" He yelled down the beach aftee her.

"Fuck you!!" She threw over her shoulder continuing to dig in her pockets for her phone. Realizing she must have left it in Happy's dorm she started looking around to see if someone looked trustworthy enough to ask use theirs. Seeing a small family playing in the sand she figured that was her best bet. Lexi quickly altered her course towards them. "I'm so sorry to interrupt but I've just gotten in an argument with my boyfriend and I realized I didn't have my phone. Could I possibly borrow one of yours?"

"Sure," the woman said grabbing for her purse. Looking over Lexi's shoulder the woman asked, "Is everything okay dear?"

"Yes ma'am I--" Lexi was cut off by Happy grabbing her arm.

"Your fit is over. Let's go," he growled lowly in her ear. Lexi tried pulling her arm from his grip but he was unrelenting and just tightened. "I fucking mean it Lexi. Get your ass back to my bike."

"Happy..."

"Sir I suggest you let go of this woman before we call the cops," The husband said as the wife pulled the kids away towards the water.

"Please don't sir, there's no need for police," Lexi tried to deescalate the situation. "Happy please let me go."

"Not until you quit this shit. Let him call the fucking pigs I'm not scared."

"Okay, okay, okay. Let's go. We have dinner at my parents," she said trying to reason with Happy. She could see the anger in his body posture now as well as his eyes. She knew he wouldn't keep himself in check much longer and she didn't want the club's wrath if Happy got arrested. With her agreement to go with him, he loosened his grip on her arm and started walking to his bike. Though he hadn't been super rough, she knew she would still bruise from the pressure of his hold. Making a mental note to wear a longer shirt tonight.

"Miss, I really don't think going with him is a good idea," the man tried to reason with her. Glaring at Happy's retreating figure out of the corner of his eye.

"I will be fine sir. He wouldn't hurt me. I started the argument being emotional due to my pregnancy. Thank you for the concern. I'm so sorry for bothering your family."

"I've seen signs of domest--"

"Sir that isn't what's going on! I threw a fit for a dumb reason. I know he looks big and scary but he's never raised a hand to me in anyway. Thanks for the concern, but it isn't necessary."

"Lexi!" Happy yelled back at her.

"Coming," she told him. Turning back to the man as she walked away, she said, "I truly am sorry for bothering you."

Happy watched as she made her way back to him. He didn't know what came over him but as soon as she started screaming about not wanting him or the club he lost all control. The person she had been since being in Charming was definitely not the girl he fell for and he'd be damned if she took it out on him. When she made it back to his bike, he was sitting on it waiting. He handed her the helmet without saying a word.

"Thanks," she mumbled and climbed into the bike behind him. "I'm sorry Hap."

Not acknowledging her apology, he turned his bike over and backed out of the parking spot. He made his way down the road to a gas station and pulled in to get fuel.

"I'm going to pee before we get back on the highway," she said getting off his bike.

"Be quick."

"I will." Lexi quickly made her way into the store and to the bathroom. She knew Happy was pissed after what had just happened and she had no intentions of making things worse at the moment. After finishing in the bathroom she grabbed a couple bottles of water and got in line behind a group of girls at the register. Hearing parts of the conversation from the girls in front of her she couldn't help but eavesdrop.

"You saw the way he was staring at me!" Said the blonde.

"So go talk to him then! You and your damn bad boy fetish," her friend shot back with an eye roll while piling their items on the counter.

"She won't. Daddy finds out and he will cut her off again after the last time," the last girl said while texting away on her phone.

"Watch me!" The first said as she readjusted her boobs in her bikini top and went out the door. Lexi had heard enough of their conversation to know they were talking about Happy. She couldn't help but gaze out at the pump at the man she had spent the last year of her life with. She could clearly see the girl trying her hardest to get a reaction out of him. Seeing him allow the girl touch his bike was enough for her to look away as her eyes filled with tears. He didn't even let the prospects touch his bike.

"Is this everything ma'am?" The cashier asked.

"Yes thank you. Keep the change," she told him laying a ten dollar bill on the counter and walking out of the store.

"I've always had a thing for bikers." Lexi heard the girl say as she walked across the lot.

"Ohh really?" Happy asked. Looking up from the pump to see Lexi walking towards them. He never took his eyes off her as she slowly got closer. He knew she had heard what the girl had said and was waiting to see the reaction she'd take. Especially after what had just happened on the beach.

"Too bad this one's taken tramp," Lexi told her coming around next to Happy and leaning up to kiss him. Happy gladly joined their lips, smirking as the girl huffed and stomped off. Sensing they were now alone, Lexi pulled back. "Got you some water. Figured you'd need something cold before we got back on the road."

"Thanks," he said grabbing the water from her and downing half the bottle in one drink. "So I'm still taken, am I?"

"I may have been pissed at the beach Hap, but I do still love you. That hasn't changed. You really think I'd give you up that easily? Just so you could go running off with a random bitch?"

"I'd have to be willing to leave you for that to happen," he told her kissing the top of her head and finishing his bottle of water. "Let's get back to Charming so we can get this dinner over with."

Nodding her head, she got on his bike behind him finding comfort in just being close to him as he started his bike and headed back to Charming. She hated that she had the outburst like she did but she was ready to be home away from this toxic place.
