Back in time.

Chapter 5

Kira walked through the park, still angry and wanting to hit something. She couldn't figure out what to do and how to act when she could see the younger version of her boyfriend kissing Kimberly, while she couldn't even hold his hand in public. The dull pain coming from her ribs didn't help with her mood either, and she was slightly embarrassed about how she had been acting. She was about to walk back to the guys and apologise, when she was knocked to the ground from her side, leaving her slightly winded and causing the pain in her ribs to increase.

"Hey! Watch it!" A voice snapped.

"Yeah, watch it!" Another voice said. She looked up to see two boys, both standing in front of her and holding a strange object.

"Dude, you walked into me. And what the hell is that?" She asked as she pushed herself back to her feet, pointing to the object in the larger boy's hand.

"This, is a ranger detector." He announced, both standing slightly taller.

"A what?" She asked, almost laughing at how ridiculous they looked.

"This is going to help us find the identity of the power rangers!" He said, making Kira raise an eyebrow.

"And you actually think that it works?" She asked, making them both glare.

"Hey Skull, what do we normally do to people who mock us." The larger one asked, making the thinner one frown.

"Ignore them?" He asked.

"No you dimwit." He snapped. "We show them who's boss."

"I'd like to see you try." Kira said with a laugh.

"Yo Bulk, Skull. Leave her alone and go back to searching for the mothership." A voice said, making Kira turn to see Jason behind her.

"Just you wait, Dweeb. Once we have the identities of the power rangers, we'll be rich and famous!" Bulk said, looking dreamily towards the sky.

"Yeah! Rich and Famous!" Skull copied, making Bulk glare.

"Come on, numskull." He snapped, dragging Skull away.

"Idiots." Jason muttered with a chuckle before looking at Kira. "Hey, you ok?"

"Do I look ok?" She snapped.

"Woah! No need to bite my head off." He said, holding his hands up in surrender.

"Sorry. I'm just a little sick of everyone trying to get involved with things that don't concern them." She said, turning away from him. "I can handle myself."

"Then handle this!" A voice snapped before an explosion knocked the two off their feet and into the air, before they fell onto their backs on the ground. They looked up to see Goldar and Zeltrax stood in front of them with Putties around them.

"Great. As if this day wasn't bad enough." Kira muttered as they got to their feet, both falling into fighting stances.

"Attack!" Goldar cried, making the putties charge towards the two teens.

"Get out of here!" Jason shouted as he and Kira started fighting the creatures.

"Not a chance." She snapped, throwing a puttie into 4 more. "This day just gets better and better." She muttered, flipping over one and kicking it from behind. Just then, Goldar decided to join the fight, going straight for Kira who twisted round him, using his momentum to make him run into a tree, only to be thrown to the ground by a puttie behind her.

"Get out of here already!" Jason snapped, refusing to morph while she was there, even if it meant he was outmatched.

"You're gonna stick to that damn code, aren't you?" She shouted, confusing him as she jumped to her feet. "Well, since I already know who you are, it doesn't really apply to me." She got into her stance, flicking her wrist. Jason froze when he saw the silver bracelet on her wrist turned into a yellow morpher. "Dino Thunder! Power up! Ha!" Jason watched in shock as the yellow ranger suit moulded to Kira's body, her Thundermax Saber in the holster on her belt.

"Get her!" Zeltrax shouted, causing putties to swarm her.

"Ptera Grips!" She called, pulling her weapons out. She slashed a few of the putties before lifting her communicator to her mouth. "Hey guys! I could use some back up!" She kicked a puttie into a tree before looking at Jason who was still stood, staring at her in shock. "Morph already!" She shouted, making him snap out of his daze and pull out his morpher.

"It's morphin' time! Tyrannosaurus!" He called, his red suit moulding to his body. "Power sword!" He yelled, pulling out his sword and slashing Goldar as the winged Monkey attacked him. Eventually, he and Kira were stood side by side, both ready to continue fighting.

"You are not worth our time." Zeltrax hissed before they disappeared, leaving Kira and Jason alone.

"Why do they always do that?" She snapped, turning to walk away.

"Hey! Wait a minute!" Jason called, making her turn around. "You're a Power Ranger?"

"Well done captain obvious." She remarked.

"Where are you from? How come we've never heard of you before? And how did you know I was a Ranger?" He asked, making her laugh.

"Trust me, you don't want to know." She snapped.

"Hey!" They turned to see the other Dino Thunder Rangers running up to them.

"Finally! I thought you'd forgotten how to answer a communicator." She said before walking over to them. "He knows who I am by the way."

"'He' has a name." Jason snapped, walking over to the group. "And I think that we need to talk."

"I don't think we do." Ethan said as they turned to walk away.

"Alpha! Teleport now!" Jason said into his communicator. Before they could turn around, the rangers were engulfed in a bright light and teleported to the command centre. The 4 teenage Dino Thunder rangers fell to the floor in a heap, while Jason and Dr O remained on their feet. Kira slowly got to her feet as the boys tried to untangle their limbs, glaring at Jason as she did.

"What the hell was that for?" She asked, ignoring the hand that Dr O put on her shoulder. "You can't just kidnap people because you don't get your way."

"Kira! That's enough." Conner snapped as he stood up, Ethan and Trent following suit. "I know you're angry and frustrated, we all are. But there is no need to take it out on Jason."

"He is right, Yellow Ranger." They looked up to see a floating head in a tube, which they knew to be Zordon. "We all must work together to face this new evil."

"You must be Zordon!" Ethan exclaimed. "Man, it's good to finally meet you."

"Likewise, Blue Ranger." Zordon replied. "Alpha, contact the other Rangers and have them teleport here."

"Ay ay ay! This is so exciting! My circuits might fry!" A small robot exclaimed as he pressed buttons.

"Calm down Alpha. We don't know if they're good yet." Jason muttered, but the others heard him.

"You what?" Kira snapped as the other rangers arrived. "How about I put you on your ass again so you can decide." Dr O grabbed her arm and pressed a button on the console next to him, teleporting the two out of the command centre and into the desert surrounding the command centre.

"Kira! Stop!" He ordered, the two de-morphing. "What is going on? I've never seen you like this."

"I am in a time I don't know, with people I don't know, watching a younger version of my boyfriend snog someone who isn't me while I am being attacked by Zeltrax and arguing with an obnoxious Red Ranger!" She snapped, wincing and putting a hand on her ribs as she ranted. Dr O's face softened and he put his hands on her arms, making her look up at him.

"Is that what this is about? Seeing me with Kim?" He knew that the relationship he was in during this time period may cause some problems for the couple, but he didn't know it would affect Kira this much.

"I can't even hold your hand in public, and she is all over you! I mean, younger you." She said before sighing. "I know that we agreed to keep it a secret, and I know that you didn't even know me in this time, but it makes me think about what I could have, and what I don't have."

"I know this is hard for you. I never would have wanted you to see me like that with someone else!" He said, wiping a tear from her face. "I'm sorry that we can't be like that now, but we will be. Graduation is soon, and then we can be together all we want and tell anyone we want. We just have to wait."

"I know you're right. I'm sorry for overreacting." She said, making him smirk before kissing her.

"I'd be more worried if you didn't react to it." He muttered, making her giggle, only to wince and take in a sharp breath as the ache in her ribs increased. "Kira?"

"Sorry. Ribs are hurting a bit." She replied, making Tommy wince at the reminder of her injuries.

"Come on. The sooner we figure out what's going on, the sooner we can get home."

"Don't count on it, Tommy!" A voice hissed, making the two jump apart and slip into fighting stances. They saw Zeltrax on top of a rock formation with Goldar and putties at the base of the rocks. "So, the great Tommy Oliver doesn't know when to quit!" Goldar laughed, making Dr O groan.

"How many times are you going to attack in one day?" He groaned.

"Conner," Kira said, lifting her communicator to her face. "We've got company."

"Attack!" Zeltrax spat, making the putties swarm the two rangers, forcing them to split up in order to fight.

"We need to morph!" Dr O called, trying to throw a puttie off his back.

"There's too many! I don't have enough time!" Kira shouted back before she was thrown back by a puttie. She took a deep breath, ready to use her Ptera scream, when a hand clasped over her mouth, another arm around her waist, holding her arms to her body.

"Don't use that little scream of yours if you want your team to live." Zeltrax hissed in her ear as he backed away from Dr O, Kira still in his grasp.

"Kira!" Dr O called, flipping over the minions and landing in front of the two monsters. "Let her go!" He ordered, only to freeze when Goldar pointed his sword at Kira's neck.

"She is ours now!" He laughed before they teleported away, taking the Yellow Dino Thunder Ranger with them.

"No! Kira!" He called running to the spot they had just occupied.

"Dr O!" He turned to see Conner, Ethan and Trent running towards him, still morphed. "Where's Kira?" Trent asked.

"She's gone." He replied. "Goldar and Zeltrax took her."

"Tommy?" He looked over their heads to see the original rangers looking at him in shock, the younger Tommy looking like he was going to faint.

"Not good." He muttered, shifting his gaze between the two ranger teams. "This is going to be a long day."
