Back in time.
Chapter 7
"Get off me!" Kim snapped as she was thrown into a cell, Kira being pushed in behind her and the door locking as they were left alone. "Great, just great. Why is it always me?" She started pacing, not seeing the look Kira was giving her. "I mean, just for once, couldn't they kidnap Trini? Or Zack?"
Kira tried to snap at Kim, but growled in frustration when the tape on her mouth muffled any sound she tried to make.
"I'm a good person! I've saved Angel Grove countless times. I volunteer with kids. I look after the environment." Kim continued, not realising that Kira was trying to get her attention. "So why do bad things always happen to me?" Kira got fed up and stamped her foot, the bang making Kim look up to see Kira standing there, glaring at her with tape over her mouth and her hands still tied behind her back. "Oh! Sorry." She said, quickly pulling the tape off her mouth.
"About time. Can you untie me?" Once her hands were free, she started rubbing her wrists while she looked around the cell. "Ok, how the hell do I get out of this one?" She muttered.
"Hey… Kira?" She turned and looked at Kim. "What do Zedd, and that metal guy want with us?"
"That metal guy's called Zeltrax. He's sort of like the Goldar of our time, only smarter and more resourceful." She replied. "And they want the power coins. Their theory is that they can use them to destroy the power rangers in this time, meaning none of the teams after them get their powers."
"Can they do that?" She asked, frowning at the yellow clad girl.
"How should I know?" Kira snapped, making Kim's eyes narrow.
"Why are you being such a bitch?" She asked, putting her hands on her hips. "I get it, it's a shitty situation, but there is no need to take it out on us."
"You don't know anything about this situation." She snapped. "I am trying to figure out a way to get us out of here, so a little bit of quiet would be nice." They were silent for a few minutes, Kim watching as Kira inspected the lock on the door. "Do you have a hair pin?" She asked, not turning to look at the pink ranger. Kim pulled a pin out of her hair and handed it to Kira, watching as she started to pick the lock.
"Where do your powers come from?" She asked, making Kira freeze for a second. "I heard that Zeltrax guy say something about gems."
"Dino gems." She replied, indicating to the yellow gem sat in a silver bracelet on her wrist. "They bonded with our DNA, choosing us to be rangers. Dr O thinks that they're from a meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs, which is how they got infused with the Dino DNA."
"So, that screech thing… Can all your team do that?" She asked, happy that Kira was no longer snapping at her.
"No. That's just my ability." She replied with a slight laugh. "When the gems bonded with us, they enhanced our DNA. We are faster and stronger than the average human, and our senses are more sensitive. We also got an extra ability, based on the Dinosaur our gem bonded us with. Mine's the Pterodactyl, hence the high-pitched scream I can do. Conner has super speed. Ethan has armoured skin that is super strong and impenetrable, when activated. Dr O can turn invisible, and Trent can camouflage himself." She let out a small cheer as the door swung open. "Well, what do you say we get out of here….. wherever here is."

"Ethan? Billy? Anything?" Tommy asked as he paced the command centre, not noticing that his older self was doing the exact same thing.
"I swear to God, if both of you don't stop pacing and shut up, I am going to get Alpha to teleport you to the middle of the desert and leave you there!" Conner snapped, making Dr O look at him with his 'teacher look' as the teenagers dubbed it. "Don't look at me like that! You may be our teacher and mentor, but I am the leader of this team and you are both being ridiculous!"
"I think that's the most Conner's ever said in one sentence." Ethan muttered to Trent, making the white ranger try to stifle a laugh.
"And besides, the 2 hours aren't up yet." Conner continued, making the original ranger team frown.
"2 hours?" Trini asked.
"We have a rule," Trent said, moving away from Ethan. "If one of us gets kidnaped, they have 2 hours before we go looking for them."
"Why?" Zack asked.
"Our team has a knack for rescuing themselves." Ethan said, not looking up. "I mean, Kira escaped from Mesagog's lab before we actually had our powers. Dr O nearly freed himself when he got kidnapped. Trent managed to free himself at one point as well."
"The point is, we tend to give each other some time to find a way out before we go looking." Conner said.
"This is different." Dr O said, still pacing. "I'm almost certain that they took them to the Lunar palace. That's on the moon! Kira may be able to get themselves out of whatever cell or cave they put them in, but they won't be able to get back here."
"Couldn't Kim teleport them?" Tommy asked, looking up at Zordon.
"If they are indeed at the Lunar Palace, then they would be too far away for our teleportation system to reach them." He replied, making Ethan look at Conner with a smirk.
"Invisiportal." He said, making Conner smile.
"Yes! Check it!" They stood next to each other as Ethan typed away.
"What?" Jason asked, looking at the Dino Thunder rangers in confusion.
"Invisiportals are a network of portals that our bad guys use to get around." Trent said, frowning at Ethan. "But they are in our time, not this time. And I'm pretty sure they're only localised to Reefside."
"Zeltrax used one when we first got here." Ethan said, making Dr O look up. "If I can access the network, I can open one up for Kira and Kim to get through…. When we locate them."
"Good work Ethan." Dr O said, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"While they are doing that, there is something that I want to know." Zack said, making them look up. "When we first met you, what was that noise that knocked us on our asses?" Conner and Trent looked at each other before laughing, ignoring the look that Dr O gave them. "Glad you find it funny."
"Sorry man. That was Kira." Conner said, still laughing slightly. "Our Dino gems gave us all an extra power. Kira has her Ptera scream, which is what you heard."
"What about you guys?" Trini asked, curiosity getting the best of her. Conner smirked before using his super speed to appear next to her, making her jump as the others stared in shock.
"Tyranno speed." He said with a wide smirk, wincing as Trini smacked him for scaring her.
"Trent?" Billy asked, looking up from the console to see what the white ranger could do. Trent smiled before activating his camouflage.
"Invisibility?" Jason asked as Trent came back into view.
"Close. Camouflage." He replied. "If I move too quickly, you can see me as my body tries to change to match my surroundings."
"What else?" Tommy asked, stopping his pacing to watch with interest.
"Someone hit me." Ethan said, moving away from the console.
"What?" Zack asked with raised eyebrows.
"Just do it." He replied with a smile, bracing himself. Zack shrugged before pulling his arm back and punching Ethan's arm as hard as he could, only to jump back.
"Ah! Why?" He cried as he cradled his hand to his chest.
"Tricera skin." Ethan said as he moved over to the console. "Hurts the attacker more than me."
"And you?" Jason asked, turning to look at Dr O, ignoring Zack who was still cursing Ethan. Dr O sighed before turning invisible.
"That one is invisibility." Conner commented as Dr O reappeared. "Anyway, Ethan?"
"I've got access to the network, but I need to know their exact location in order to activate a portal." He said, looking at Billy.
"I can't get a lock." He said, shaking his head. "They're too far away for our sensors to pick them up."
"What do we do then?" Trini asked.
"I don't know." Dr O said, frowning deeply.

"Do you know where we're going?" Kim asked as they crept along a corridor.
"No idea. I don't even know where we are." Kira replied, trying not to make a noise as they moved. They jumped back as something moved in front of them, thankfully not seeing the two rangers. "What was that?"
"That was squat." Kim replied as they moved away from the wall they had pressed themselves against. "A useless henchman."
"Ok, we need to get out of here. Now." She said as they hurried down the corridor, only to come out in the room that Kira had been brought to when she was first taken.
"Oh no." Kim whispered, staring out of the large window in the room.
"What?" Kira asked, following her gaze. She gasped when she saw the sight in front of her. "Is that…."
"Yeah. We're in the Lunar Palace." She said as she stared at the Earth through the window.
"How do we get out of here?" Kira asked, not taking her eyes off the sight.
"You don't!" They spun around to see Zeltrax and Lord Zedd in front of them.
"Oh great. It's the talking radiator again." Kira grumbled, glaring at the two.
"Get them." Zedd hissed, making putties grab their arms and hold them in place. "You two are beginning to be a lot more hassle than you're worth."
"Then why don't you let us go and we all forget this ever happened." Kim snapped.
"You two are going nowhere." Zeltrax said, walking towards them. "When we get the power coins, you two will be the first to go."
"Hey Zeltrax, aren't you forgetting something?" Kira asked, smirking slightly.
"What?" He asked, looking at her.
"This." She snapped before screaming, the force of the sonic scream making both Zedd and Zeltrax fly across the room and into a wall as the putties let go of the two rangers to hold their heads in agony. "Run." Kira said, grabbing Kim's hand and dragging the pink ranger out of the room with her.
"GET THEM!" They heard Zedd roar as they sprinted down the corridor and into a deserted room.
"What now?" Kim asked, panting as she rubbed her head, her ears still ringing from the Ptera scream.
"Give me your communicator." Kira commanded, making Kim undo the watch-like communicator and hand it to the yellow clad teen. "Maybe if I send a signal out on all radio frequencies, the others can pick it up."
"How are you going to do that?" Kim asked, watching as Kira fastened the communicator to her wrist, just under where her bracelet sat.
"Like this." She replied, lifting the wrist to mouth and beginning to sing into both communicators.
Back on Earth, an alarm sounded in the command centre.
"Alpha? What's going on?" Jason asked as all of the rangers in the room crowded around the console.
"Something is taking over all radio frequencies." Alpha replied, pressing buttons frantically. "Ay ay ay! It's taken over our communications!"
"What is it?" Conner asked, before a sound emerged from all of the communicators and speakers in the room.
"Trying hard to figure out
Tell me what it's all about
Cuz I don't want to freak you out
Freak you out
Freak you out" A voice sung, making Dr O share a look with the other Dino Thunder rangers.
"That's Kira." He said, his eyes brightening slightly. "Ethan, see if you can trace it."
"On it." Ethan said as he started pressing buttons.
"What are you trying to do?" Tommy asked, watching what was happening.
"Once we get a location, we can teleport them here using those invisaportals." Billy said, helping Ethan to program the computer. "Locked on."
"Two female humans in the vicinity of the signal." Ethan said. "Opening the portal." A moment later, a green and black portal opened up above them, Kira and Kim shooting out of it a moment later.
"Kira!" The Dino Thunder Rangers cried, the teens pulling her into a hug as Kim was hugged by her team. Dr O made sure to only give Kira's shoulder a squeeze, knowing that a hug could alert everyone else to their relationship.
"Thanks guys. For a moment there, I thought that wasn't going to work." Kira said, handing Kim's communicator back to her.
"Kimberly, Kira. Welcome back." Zordon said, making the two a smile. "Now, I believe it is time for you all to go home. Dr Oliver, you and your rangers can stay here. Alpha can show you where there are beds and showers."
"Thank you Zordon." Dr O replied, smiling at his old mentor.
"Zordon, are you sure?" Jason asked, making Kira glare slightly.
"Yes Jason. The rangers from the future are safer here than anywhere else on Earth at the moment." He replied. The other rangers teleported out and Kira and Dr O managed to sneak away from their team. They found their way to one of the storage rooms, and just stood there, Kira wrapped in his arms with her head on his chest as his lay on top of hers.
"I was so worried." He whispered, tightening his grip on her slightly.
"I know. Conner said you nearly didn't give me the 2 hours." She replied with a slight giggle before pulling away slightly and looking up at him. "I'm fine. I'm here now. I'm not going anywhere." They kissed for a moment before pulling away. "Come on. The others are going to get suspicious soon. And I could do with a good night's sleep."
Here you go guys. Sorry for the late update. I've been on holiday and I've been busy at work getting my classroom ready for the new academic year.
