Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Snowy Soulmates. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own VK, Sega, Ryutaro Nonaka and Shuntaro Tanaka do.
He was honestly what to do next. It had been rather curious what she was going to happen next at the second before this ended. He was rather hopeful for the best… But this was war, the best he could hope for was a peaceful death or returning home alive and with a medal at best. It wasn't at all what a regular person wanted. But he guessed he had long since abandoned the idea of being normal when it came down to it… Along with whatever else awaited him down the road when all of this was said and done. It couldn't at all be said he didn't find a way to survive as of now.
Maybe he just wasn't normal when all was said and done. It wouldn't surprise him considering all the insanity and chaos he had been around. It wasn't something a normal person had dealt with for now nor would this all come to an end. This would be a lot when this was done and dusted. It was a lot more to happen as of now. It would be a much wider ride.
"Are we ready to move on to the next part of the situation?" Matias questioned while he tilted his head to the side and listened to his radio. "We need to go. There are a lot more soldiers on the second." Matias stated before he glanced around and sighed as he rolled his eyes and rolled his eyes at the second.
He was honestly curious what the rest of the soldiers there was more interested in what his army and his men had been up to when it came down to it.
"What are you going to do when we get to the docks?" Minerva questioned before she seemed to tilt, her head. "We both know that there's going to be more hunting us," Minerva stated before she smiled to herself.
There was more on the job, more soldiers that were coming to hunt them down. He rubbed at his temples and ran a hand across his head as he seemed to tilt his head before glancing around the APC.
"There will be a ship picking up troops and trying to regroup. We get there, we find out what's happening, and we go home." Matias stated before he tilted his head as well.
He brushed off his gear at the time. his rifle gleamed at the second before he tilted his head and sighed to himself. He seemed to dart around the entire APC, interested in what that there were going to be more wars at the time.
"He didn't know what to do next, did he?" Minerva questioned to which there was no real answer from her friend. "How do you plan to fight a war where we're on the side that doesn't have logistics and materials?" Minerva questioned with a raised eyebrow from her friend.
There was something off about this. The entire mission had been wrong, they had been found out before anyone or anything good could happen. It was almost as if the Empire had known about their troop movements and sent troops to try and capture them.
That made her worried. If they knew about the ambush? What else did they know about? What could they be doing that had attached so much attention and was worth sending someone to spy on them? It was a question that made her rather bothered in this type of environment. It had been a lot more interesting.
Still? They had been interested in this operation for all too long. It was all too much; it was going to be insane for her. There was simply too riding on their war effort.
"We're going to be heading to the port and going onto the next mission," Matias stated before he rubbed at his temples. "We both know that there isn't a way to meet the Empire on even ground. We aren't going to be hitting them over and over. This had been hard on both of us." Matias stated before he sighed to himself as he shook his head.
He was honestly interested in what was going to be happening sooner or later. He was honestly curious as to what her mission was holding.
"What is going to happen if we don't deal with this possibly means losing the war. The empire will hit us over and over again until we're ripped into pieces. They're smart enough to hit us over and over again. If they were smart enough to hunt us this far?" Matias questioned before he seemed to sigh and look around and glance around at the area while he sighed to himself.
They're not going to back down by now. This was a targeted attack, one aimed to wipe out the entire army and stop us." Matias stated and then took a deep breath. "They wanted to wipe us out. Not just stop us, slaughter us down to the last man. That attack was targeted, precise, and entirely focused on what it was set out to accomplish, either they knew we were coming or they hit us entirely while we weren't ready. There's no other way." Matias stated before he sighed.
He was going to be as of the second. It was going to be interesting as of the second. There was a lot more coming on her plate and this didn't entirely help. Still? She'd handle it as of the time, a lot more on the mind which made her smile and tilt her head.
It'd be a lot more interesting as of the time. There was so much that she had yet to understand as of the second. Still? She didn't back down from this.
There was a lot more on her mind. So much could go wrong and she didn't want to question what was to come next. Matias seemed to lean back in his seat, interested in what was to come next. This had been a lot more interesting as of the moment. It made her tired, the battle, and the rest of the missions were going to be a spectacle if she knew how he operated. He wouldn't back down from facing the enemy.
Still? If there were any real problems? They'd address them as such. This would end either one way or another. It was simply something that made her wish to be ready for this.
How was he so calm about this war? How was he so used to the up and downs of command? It made her question if he had any empathy. He cared enough for his men not to throw them aside, but he was so eerily calm about what needed to happen if they were to win this war. It made her question what was to happen if he was left to his own decisions.
He'd probably win them the entire war if she had believed harder in him. It was sobering to know that he had been a decent enough officer to turn this all around for them, such a sobering thought as she questioned the topics.
She still wished to pick his brain, there was a lot to learn from an officer like him and she was aware he probably didn't fathom why she found his skill to be so interesting. It was something she cursed herself for at the time. things like this were bothering her, they were annoying her when it came down to it.
He'd come as of the second there was a lot more on the head when it came down to it. She tapped on her fingers before she hummed and started to click her fingers together. It was calming enough for her which was probably why she continued on it despite her best ideas as of now and despite everything making it sound weird. It didn't feel weird to her despite what she had heard about such gestures which may have been why she didn't yet don't anything about it as of now. The idea didn't have all that much terror in his mind and it wasn't as if he could do a lot less when this was all done and dusted. It was to be a horrid little thing that couldn't at all be done and dusted.
"There's a lot more coming if I'm honest. The battlefield won't be decided by how many soldiers we or the empire can deploy." Matias said before he crossed his arms. "If they're smart? Their dig in. They know the federation forces need to come to them, we need to attack them so it means we're probably going to be going up against some pretty heavy problems with it. we both know that there's a lot more going on than this, though. What's bothering you so much at the moment?" Matias questioned; his eyebrow raised as he looked at her.
She could only tilt her head to the side at this. She slowly moved from her seat towards him. he made no effort to stop her, no effort to do anything that could be seen as stopping her. If she wanted something? He'd tell her, it was something she was entitled to as of now.
She reached out and brushed some of the snow from his face. He seemed as if he had been unable to handle it for now… Yet this was to be something for the history books when all of it was said and done. It couldn't be yet handled for now.
She took her glasses off as she looked at him, a blink which made him realize she was seeing him without the constant issuing of orders or desires that could be easily hidden behind the veneer of an officer who had known what he had been willing to handle and would be willing to handle. She could see that he had wanted more than this, wanted more than this little thing.
She brushed a bit of snow off his cheek and sat down in front of him as Maize hummed, curious as to her next real move when it had been this way for a longer time.
"You, ok?" Minerva asked to which he nodded towards her as of the time being. "Whatever comes next? You're going to need to stay alive for now." Minerva said before he hummed to himself as this was said before now.
He had a lot more to question when this was all of the second when it was all done and dusted before now.
"And is wiping snow off my face something we deal with as often as you seem to think it is?" Minerva heard as she rolled her eyes to herself.
He cleared his throat once more. It had been something funny, something had been done and dusted as of now. This was to be something cool for now, something cool and odd end of the day.
He reclined in his seat as she took a spot next to him. it had been something unreal to be dealing with this. The idea had so much promise, so much vitriol, and poison if it went anywhere else.
Still? The idea had promise. It would always be promising to see how the empire responded and how they fought back. There was oh so much to be done and oh so much to account for before now. It was to be something else for now and yet? He knew more than anything else. It would be a while before it was all done and dusted at the end of the day. Yes, so much to say and do for now…
