Walking downstairs and into the kitchen Lexi was in awe. The breakfast spread was one to rival her own mother's and then some. Jessie had made enough of a feast of every breakfast food imaginable that they could feed an army. There was no way the group could eat everything.

Coming up behind Lexi and handing her a plate to fill, Happy kissed the side of her head and whispered, "Might want to close your mouth and make a plate. You'd think some of these guys hadn't eaten in weeks when Jessie cooks for us."

"Now I see why she brought groceries."

Happy just chuckled as he nudged Lexi along the line and started filling a plate of his own. Some of the men had already made their plates and devoured almost everything on them before getting ready for seconds. As they neared the end of the buffet style set up covering her counters they met with Lee who was eating his breakfast and Jessie who stood behind him with a hand on his shoulder.

"Thank you for this Jessie. Definitely puts to shame what I would have been able to throw together for the guys," Lexi told her.

"Oh hunny, it's my job as SAMTAC 'queen'. Gotta play mama bear for all these ruffians," she said with a chuckle before continuing. "Plus you'll learn some tricks the longer you're with us. We don't have the army of sweet butts and crow eaters that SAMCRO has so we've learned some tricks over the years."

"I guess that's definitely true. Now that Happy and I are out of the closet, it's time I start paying my part of the club dues."

"Not til the twins are born!" Happy scolded as he sat next to Lee to enjoy his breakfast.

"Twins huh? Damn you sure are carrying light!" Lee responded.

"Yeah but small kids run in my family. It's the heart defect," Lexi replied.

"Well don't worry. We will definitely get you fattened up and those baby's will be plenty healthy! They've got fighting blood." Jessie said grabbing a biscuit to munch on. "Plus until they're born, you'll be on light duty. We aren't putting those babes at risk in any way."

"Hopefully I'll get along better here than I did with the girls back in Charming."

"Probably not. You're going to put a few in their place I'm sure," Happy told her while shoveling food into his mouth.

"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked him with a sideways glare.

"I'm just saying is all. I know how easily set off you can get."

"Yeah? Well your temper must have rubbed off on me," Lexi told him.

"That's some truth!" Kozik said depositing his plate in the sink. "But I think Bec's face will be enough warning for the girls."

"Wait you did that?" Jessie asked Lexi.

"Yes," she answered with regret. " But in my defense, I'm not used to seeing girls hang off of Hap. Add in pregnancy hormones, being forced into an unwanted situation, and being shot I just saw red. We're better now though."

"Dear lord girl. I know they said you grew up in the life with the boys but they never said you fought like them too," she told her.

"What can I say, I had to defend myself. I was in the ring almost as much as my brother and Ope." She told the older woman with a shrug.

The group continued to make small chit chat until they were done eating and the men had gone into the rec room to watch TV or headed home while Lexi, Bec, and Jessie were cleaning the kitchen. Surprisingly enough, almost all of the food was gone. Lexi was shocked by how clean the SAMTAC members were. But she thought it might have something to do with them being in Happy's house. His OCD was well known and with his demeanor, people avoided setting him off as much as possible. Between the three women, the kitchen was clean in less than an hour and they joined the men.

Lexi grabbed a throw blanket she always kept handy off an ottoman and crawled into Happy's lap without missing a beat not even thinking of how it may look to the others. The stares coming from their guests ignored by the couple as Happy helped her cover up her body while she curled against him for extra warmth. He would never understand how she was always freezing.

Jessie couldn't hide the grin at how domesticated Happy's life had become. In her eyes, he deserved it. He never let himself have enough good. The woman in his lap had definitely changed the man in ways she never believed she'd see. The movie ended and Lee decided to address the group.

"So, we need a game plan for when Gemma shows up."

"I was going to stay home with Lex for a few days and avoid the clubhouse," Happy told him quietly. Lexi had fallen asleep during the movie and he wasn't going to risk waking her. "If I'm here, she won't need protection shifts and since no one's coming by here, they won't have a chance to follow back to the house and find her."

"We both know that won't work with my mother," Lexi mumbled into Happy's chest as she woke up.

Looking down to her Happy could see the fear starting to form in her eyes. He hated her parents had this impact on her.

"I'll call Jax then. See what he can do to run interference," he suggested.

"He already is. We talked last night. But I don't want SAMCRO bringing a war to SAMTAC over me."

"Kid, you're SAMTAC now and we take care of our own. Whether they bring a war or not," Lee told her.

"Our only option is me standing up to her. It's what had to happen when I left for Seattle too. I'll just meet with her once she shows her face and go from there."

"I don't want you near them alone," Happy told her, tightening his grip on her hip. He all but growled, "I don't fucking trust them."

"I'm not saying alone babe. I don't trust them either right now. But I think if I step up, the blame can go on me. Not like when they blamed Koz for bringing me home."

"She makes a good point, Killa," Lee tried to reason.

"Still don't like it." He grumbled.

"Hap, it will happen at the clubhouse. Mutual ground but I'll still have plenty of SAMTAC members to have my back. If there's still a fight about it we will call it to a vote between both clubs. That work for you?"

"No. They've got more officers than we do and we won't get majority."

"By how many?" Lexi asked looking to Lee.

"I want to say by three or four. Think you could sway some votes?" Lee answered.

"We've got Jax. Ope can't vote being in jail. But I may be able to get Chibs and the old man on our side. We sure everyone SAMTAC will go our way?"

"No one has the guts to go against Happy's wishes," Kozik told her.

"Well I'm going to make some calls then," she told the group crawling off Happy's lap.

"Good luck. We'll get ahold of our men then head home to get some rest."

"Thanks guys," Happy responded rising to follow Lexi. Kissing Jessie's cheek as he walked by he said, "I'm gonna crash. Koz will help if ya need anything."

"Sounds good brotha," Lee responded with a handshake.

By the time Happy made it to the bedroom, Lexi was sitting on their bed with her back resting against the head board and her phone to her ear. Happy stripped down and crawled into bed. He rested his head in her lap and slung an arm over her legs. It wasn't the most comfortable position, but he needed the contact right now. He didn't like her decision but he intended to give her the chance to try to get what she wanted.

"Hey Piney. It's Lexi."

"What can I do for ya princess? Heard you had an eventful departure."

"So I'm sure you heard ma is trying to come here to drag me back too?"

"It's been said..."

"Well I have a plan but I'll need some help."

"And that is?"

"We're going to force a vote. They'll call you for proxy and since I know I'm not allowed to ask for yours but I wanted you to see my side."

"I'm sure I'll get shit for it, but just tell me one thing."

"What's that?"

"You happy? Genuinely happy not just trying to piss off your ma."

Looking down at Happy she thought about his question. Sure their entire relationship was far from normal but it was theirs. She never saw this life but couldn't imagine things being any different than they currently were.

"I am. Anyone who knows me knows I never wanted club life but after the last year, I couldn't see myself in any other situation. As cheesy as it sounds, I feel like he's the yin to my yang. We keep each other centered."

"That's all I need to know then."

"Thanks Piney."

"All I've ever wanted is to see you happy. Starting a life and family isn't the easiest thing and I'll be damned to stand in your way of getting what you want. Talk soon."

"Bye old man."

Lexi could feel the tears welling up in her eyes. She had always had a bond with Piney because of how close she'd been with Opie but she never expected him to agree so readily. Clearly the guys saw something in hers and Happy's relationship her parents were still refusing to see. Dialing Chibs number now she hoped she could get the same answer out of him.

"Something wrong lass?"

"Just wanted to chat. When are they coming?"

"Ya ma is getting the last bit loaded into her car now then we'll be riding up," he answered knowing exactly what they meant.

"Lee's going to push for a vote."

"Aye, I'd assume so."

"I don't want to go back. I want to be with Happy."

"Lexi, we don't know how long he will be in jail, ya need ta be home. We can keep ya safe."

"Interesting, they must not know he's out and home," she thought to herself.

"But Chibs, I have a life here I've built and I'm happy.

"Ya used ta be happy here."

"We both know it's been a very long time since it was like that. Don't let them do to me what Jimmy did to you. Don't help them break up my family Chibs."

"That's a low blow lass."

"I know but I can't be without him. Please don't make me."

"We'll see. Got to go, your ma is pushing ta head out. See ya soon."

"Bye Chibs."

"So?" Happy asked her, keeping his eyes closed.

Before saying anything to him she shifted so she could lay in bed next to him. After laying her head on his chest and feeling his arms wrap and tighten around her back she answered, "I don't know. What if I'm wrong and they don't vote with us?"

"Worst case scenario, if it doesn't go how we planned, I'll go nomad. They won't allow me to go SAMCRO if they're trying to keep us apart. I'll buy our family a house in Charming, and we will make it work."

"I've never heard good things about being nomad babe."

"I'll be fine. I was before. It'll be the only way to be close if they force you to go back to Charming. As a nomad I can lay roots anywhere. I won't let them think they have the upper hand keeping us apart. Plus we will be closer to ma that way too."

"It just seems so risky."

"We will just consider it an extreme back up. Now lay here and get some rest. Things are sure to be crazy again in a few hours."

"Hap?"

"What Lex?"

"You sure, you're sure about this?"

Looking into her eyes Happy gave her the reassurance they both needed right now, "My life has only been better since walking into your bar that night. That's why I kept coming back. I wasn't just an enforcer or Killa to you. I was a person. You and the kids are my reason to keep pushing. I'm not going to just let that disappear."

Nodding her head in answer she curled back into his chest. It didn't take long for them to fall asleep in each other's arms. Lexi wasn't sure what was ahead, but she knew they'd get through it together.
