When Lexi awoke, Happy was no longer in bed with her. After checking the bathroom she determined he must be downstairs. Softly padding down the stairs she first checked the living room and kitchen before moving down to the basement to check the rec room. There she found him, Kozik and Bec watching a movie. When she entered the room he instantly looked towards the door way, always on alert.
"Hey baby," He said as she circled around to curl up next to him on the chaise lounge of their sectional. "Feel better?"
"Yeah a bit. How long was I out?" She asked.
"All fucking day!" Kozik responded from his end of the couch. A pillow hitting his head was Lexi's only response. "Look here shit head, I don't care that Happy's home now, I'll still kick your ass."
"Bet you'll say different when he takes you to the ring!" Lexi told him before sticking her tongue out at him.
"Fucking watch me."
"We won't make it to the ring," Happy stated casually sipping his beer without making eye contact with his friend or fiance.
"She started the shit," Kozik whined.
"What are you 12?" Bec butted in and Lexi couldn't help but bust up laughing.
"Fuck you all." He told the group while pouting.
"No thanks, I'm very content with the current person I'm fucking," Lexi told him snuggling more into Happy's warmth before asking, "So what's the plan? SAMCRO here yet?"
"Not yet. I'm sure they should be soon. If you wanted to get dressed I figured we could all get some food then go to the club house. Makes it so you can still relax and don't have to worry about cooking," Happy told her.
"I could cook something if you guys are hungry?" Bec questioned instantly standing to head upstairs.
"Not gonna happen. You're our guest," Lexi told her.
"If that's the case why do I have house chores like taking out the trash?" Kozik asked.
"Probably because you live here smartass," Lexi told him.
"Quit your bickering and go get dressed. You haven't ate since breakfast," Happy told her silencing the argument.
"Yes sir Mr. Bossy pants," she said giving him a fake salute. "Can we atleast get Chinese though? I've been craving that little place downtown!"
"Oh that sounds good! Their lobster egg rolls are to die for!" Bec said. "Nothing in California compares!"
"Yes! Those are my favorite!" Lexi gushed.
"Well get ready and we will go. Do me a favor and pack a bag too? Just in case we will stay there tonight so they don't know where the house is," Happy told her.
"'Kay, want me to pack for you too?"
"Nah I'm good. I've got clothes there already."
Nodding her head, Lexi headed back upstairs. She quickly threw a few days of clothes in her go bag to keep in his dorm before pulling on a pair of tight jeans and a reaper tank. Lexi knew she needed to show club support but couldn't walk in wearing SAMCRO. It would make it look like she wasn't supporting Happy and she wouldn't give her mother the satisfaction. Adding a black leather jacket she moved to the mirror to do her makeup and hair. Not knowing the planned traveling vehicle she pulled her hair up into a simple messy bun with a few stray hairs framing her face. After adding a dark smokey eye and deep red lipstick she was finished. Grabbing her bag she was greeted by Happy standing in the door way of their bedroom.
"Jesus fuck Hap! You scared me half to death. How the hell do you move so quiet?"
"Just another part of my glorious skill set," he replied with a shrug while stalking closer to her until he had her pinned between him and the dresser. Looking down the front of her body he could see her lacey bra peeking from under her tank top. Feeling himself harden in his pants he asked, "Dressed a bit provocatively aren't we?"
"Nope just living up to the old lady lifestyle," she told him with a giggle flittering around him and out of his reach. Continuing out the door she called back, "You going to feed me now?"
"Ohh I can think of something to feed you," he mumbled following her down the stairs. When he got there, everyone was in the kitchen ready to go.
"What are we driving?" Lexi asked grabbing her bag again to head outside.
"We'll take the Lexus. It can hold all of us plus it's raining so I don't want you on the bike," Happy said grabbing her bag from her before walking towards the garage door without waiting to see if everyone followed.
The group loaded up and headed downtown. After eating Lexi felt much better. Talking with Bec, she realized she was much too quick to judge the other woman. They had so many similarities they'd become instant friends. As Happy pulled into the lot at SAMTAC, Lexi was glad she'd have at least one female friend by her side. Seeing the familiar bikes and Cadillac she knew SAMCRO was clearly already here.
"Time to face the music," she thought to herself.
When the girls walked around the back of the car, Bec gave Lexi's hand a quick squeeze in comfort.
"You got this. Plus we're right here by your side."
"Thanks."
Happy and Kozik joined the women and Happy wrapped his arm around Lexi's shoulders. It was eerily quiet out. Though there were many bikes and cars in the lot, no one was around outside. It didn't help that the sun had now set and there was a mist rolling in from the sea.
"We got this babe," He told her kissing her head and leading the group towards the door.
Lexi held her head high ready to face the war that would be on the other side of the door. She had made Happy a promise and intended to keep it. No longer would she hide or be afraid of every one trying to pull them apart. She wouldn't give them the power to control her life. The twins deserved a better life than that.
A/N: I know everyone is going to hate another cliff hanger but after writing this chapter I was huge and I couldn't bring myself to post it. So instead I split it. BUT that just means you'll be getting the next chapter that much sooner!!
Also, thank you everyone for the love support, and constructive critism you have shown throughout this process. It's been overwhelming but graciously welcomed as it is my first fanfic and I want to improve. Finally took a friend's advice and put my writing to use.
