Arriving at their home, Lexi went into the kitchen and quickly got to work making breakfast for the couple. She kept it simple with some omelettes, hash browns, and toast. Happy had begun carrying the baby items from the living room to the nursery while she cooked. When he finished he came and sat at the table watching her finish the last of breakfast.

"I think we may have an issue," he told her.

"Why?" She questioned. "What's wrong?"

"Damn boys aren't even here yet and they have too much shit."

"We have a 5 bedroom house. you really think there isn't enough room?"

"There's alot of stuff."

"We'll work on it. Let's just eat for now."

After they finished breakfast, Happy washed the dishes and Lexi made her way upstairs. Happy was definitely right. There was ALOT of stuff. Luckily he had left her a path to the rocking chair so she would have somewhere to sit. Starting to shuffle through bags and boxes, Lexi tried to get things as organized as she could. She had separated all the clothing to be washed, diapering gear set aside until she could find a place, bath items in another pile to go to what would be the boy's bathroom. She had made it about half way through the pile when Happy joined her.

"Where do you want me to start?" He asked eager to get rid of the pile. He understood all the stuff would be needed but the clutter was already kicking his OCD into overdrive.

Lexi was quick to give him orders on where thing needed to go and before they knew it, the pile was taken care of by lunch. With that out of the way the couple enjoyed a relaxing afternoon watching movies cuddled together in the basement. Lexi was shocked their house guests hadn't shown up or her parents for that matter.

"When is SAMCRO leaving?" she asked.

"The plan was a little after noon but I'm sure Gemma has been pitching a fit."

"Should I have said goodbye? Think it would have played better for our cover?"

"Not our problem. She can get over it."

The rest of the night was calm and quiet. Around 9 Lee called Happy and informed him that SAMCRO had left and they were in the clear. But he also had bad news. There was a run coming up that Lee needed Happy on protection for in just a couple days. Happy agreed and said he would talk it over with Lexi. Finding her in their room he decided to fill her in.

"Hey I have a run I have to make in a few days. It's just border to border so shouldn't be too long but I'll make sure someone is here with you just in case."

"I'm not going to break. I'll be okay." Lexi informed him finishing her bedtime routine.

"I know but I--"

"Happy," she cut him off. "I will be fine. I can handle it."

"If you say so."

Over the next few days, the couple just hung around the house getting things ready for the twins. Kozik and Bec had been around but it was sporadic. Lexi had a feeling there was something more going on with the two but had yet to get a chance to ask. The morning the men left on the protection run, the two woman decided they would go get pedicures to pamper themselves and do some shopping at the mall.

"So how have things been? I feel like I barely see you and you live in my house!"

"Good," Bec replied. "I guess I didn't realize how much I missed SAMTAC until being home. Plus we've been trying to give you and Happy space."

"It's nice for the most part." Lexi agreed. "Some of the crow eaters I could do without."

"Yeah I heard you had a run in with Kami. I promise not all the girls are like that."

"I grew up around those types of women my entire life. I have no clue why I thought it'd be different all of a sudden now."

"I think we all have the idea in our heads, it will be different when it's us," Bec explained.

"If we're being totally honest, I never expected this for myself. I didn't want this life. Him always being on the road or in dangerous situations. I saw my future with the cookie cutter type of husband that they show in hallmark Christmas movies," Lexi told the other woman.

"You're far from a hallmark movie," Bec told her laughing.

"That's the truth!"

"Speaking of giving us space though, what's going on with you and Koz?"

Bec let out a nervous chuckle but didn't say anything.

"Ohh it's going to be like that is it? Spill the beans lady!"

"I like him, I've had feelings for him for while if I'm honest with myself. But it's like he can't catch a hint! Hell the only reason I was hanging on Happy in Charming was to try making him jealous. Which clearly didn't work and only got my ass kicked."

"Sorry about that again. I never should have taken my anger out on you."

"Hey I get it. I fucked up, but that's why I helped you leave that day too. My attempt at making amends."

"Koz will come around. He's not always the quickest to catch on. The drugs fucked up the few braincells he had so give him time," Lexi said giggling.

The women finished their pedicures and proceeded to get some lunch in the food court. When leaving the mall, Lexi started to get a bad feeling. She couldn't put her finger on it, but it felt like they were being followed the deeper they got in the parking garage. Arriving at the car, the bad feeling had gotten worse. Lexi reached into her purse grabbing the pistol Happy constantly made her carry. Now feeling his paranoia may have had a purpose. As Bec unlocked her car, two men came around the back trying to corner the women.

"Look what we have here J. I think we found some fun," said the first.

"I agree. Loads of fun," the second replied.

"You think?" Lexi questioned. "Cause I think we're definitely more than you'd be able to handle."

"Nah sweet cheeks. We'll decide that," the second man said taking a few steps closer to Lexi.

"Call me sweet cheeks again, asshole," Lexi said drawing her pistol.

Seeing her draw a pistol distracted both men enough Bec was able to grab her own weapon from the door of her car now pointing it at the men as well.

"Jesus Christ!! Y'all are crazy bitches!" The first yelled.

"Damn right! Now I think it's time for you little boys to run along and play before you piss yourselves," Lexi told the men.

"Shoo shoo," Bec added.

The two men ran as fast as they could in the opposite direction while the women quickly got in the car and Bec sped away.

"Holy shit! That was so scary! How did you react so fast?" She asked Lexi.

"Have you met my old man? No hesitation allowed," She replied with a dry chuckle. She kept looking behind them expecting someone to be following them. Sure enough a white suburban came out of nowhere trying to catch up to them. "Fuck!"

"What?"

"They're following us. Go to the club house."

"You sure?"

"Yup. I'm already going to get my ass chewed for this one," Lexi said pulling out her phone to make a call. "Babe?"

"What's going on?"

"Why would you assume something is wrong?"

"You don't call when I'm on runs. Don't try to bullshit me Lexi." In the background she could now hear Kozik's worried voice asking if the two women were okay.

"Some guys tried to jump us at the mall. I pulled my pistol on them, shocked them enough Bec could do the same but now they're following us."

"Do not go home."

"No shit Sherlock."

"Get to the club house," He growled her ignoring her comment, before answering Kozik who was still flipping out in the background. "They're being followed. Let Quinn know so he has a heads up. Lexi?"

"Yeah babe?"

"We're about an hour out. I'm on my way. Listen to what Quinn tells you. No more stupid rash decisions."

"Okay. I love you."

"You too," was the only answer she got as he ended the call.

"I was right, take us to the club house."

"Got it."

The next 15 minutes were very tense as they made their way through the Tacoma streets to SAMTAC. Lexi kept checking back hoping the men ended their pursuit but they didn't. As Bec rounded the corner into the lot a prospect instantly ran the gate closed and Quinn was already barking orders at the few members who were there.

"Lexi, Bec, get inside while we deal with this."

The two wasted no time running into the main room to get away from the possible gun fight about to go down.

"What the hell is going on?" Jessie asked coming from the office and seeing all the commotion.

"I messed up. Bec and I almost got jumped at the mall. I drew on the guys then they followed us. Hap said to come here."

"For good reason!" Jessie said pulling both women into a hug. She then let out a wolf whistle before addressing the crowd in the bar room. "Lockdown now!"

Everyone jumped into action. The windows had thick metal covers pulled over them then the crow eaters gathered on the far side of the room in a corner. Any guys inside went outside to help Quinn as backup. Jessie led the other two to the far side of the bar away from the doors. That was when the shots started. Lexi couldn't help but flinch with every one. Finally after what seemed like forever, the shooting stopped and they could hear Quinn's voice inside giving the all clear.

Going outside Lexi could see the men were dead and members were cleaning the mess. In the span of 10 minutes you couldn't even tell there had been a shoot out in the parking lot.

"What about the shots? No one will call those in?"

"Not around here. Too many drug deals gone bad," Quinn told her.

All of a sudden the deafening roar of motorcycles filled the air. Happy pulled in first followed by his brothers who weren't far behind. He parked his bike and walked to Lexi without saying a word. She could see he was holding back his anger at the situation but knew he'd be soon to blow. Once he got within reach he grabbed Lexi's upper arm and practically dragged her inside.

"Ow! Happy stop! You're hurting me," she pleaded.

He spun around so quick Lexi lost her balance. In the blink of an eye he blew up.

"Do I look like I fucking care? How could you be so stupid Lexi? Were you even thinking about the twins?" He shouted.

The few people in the bar room were now turning to them with fear in their eyes. Happy was usually very good about keeping his temper in check. It was a rare sight and people didn't know whether to stay out or step in and help Lexi.

"They clearly were going to try abducting us," Lexi told him holding her ground. "Should I have rather played the weak victim?"

"Don't give me bullshit excuses Lexi! Those are my kids you put at risk today!"

"Ohh? Because mine and Bec's lives don't matter? They're my kids too! You're the one who's always telling me I need to protect myself. Get off your fucking high horse!"

An audible gasp of shock ran through the room. No one had the guts to stand up to the Tacoma Killer like Lexi just had. Happy was absolutely seething. You could see the anger coming off of him in waves. Lee and Kozik had strategically placed themselves close enough that if Happy's control broke, they could step in before he did something he'd regret.

"Go home," he growled.

"Fucking gladly," Lexi replied turning on her heel and leaving the club house.

Bec scurried out behind her not wanting to deal with Happy's wrath. When Bec made it outside Lexi was already on the phone trying to phone a taxi.

"I'll take you home. This is my fault anyways," Bec told her.

"It's not either of our faults, he's just an arrogant prick!" Lexi yelled hoping Happy heard her inside. Following Bec to the car and getting in she continued, "He's made a giant point about this the whole time we've been together. Says I never pay enough attention to my safety. Clearly I did tonight seeing as how we're both alive and safe. Sorry I didn't want to start a shoot out in the middle of fucking Tacoma."

"He just wants to know you're safe."

"He doesn't give two shits either way. I'm starting to think Kami was right and he's only with me cuz the kids."

"That's bullshit. Kami said that shit being her normal bitchy self. Mad at the world cause she wasn't getting her way."

"Hmm," was Lexi's only reply.

The rest of the ride was spent in silence while Lexi thought about her next steps. Once they arrived at the house, she was sure she had the plan worked out well enough in her head. She went right upstairs and began packing a bag. She knew Happy would be there soon and she didn't have much time. Finishing to pack her bag she heard a knock on the door.

Looking out the window, she saw the prospect's bike sitting by the curb. She came out into the hall to see if she could catch part of the conversation.

"What's going on Ian?" Bec asked as she answered the door.

"I'm on strict orders to watch Lexi and make sure she's never alone."

"She isn't going to like that. Plus she wasn't alone."

"Not the point and honestly I'm not about to argue with Hap. I still can't believe she did. He blew a fucking gasket."

"Fuckkkkk" Lexi thought to herself going back into her room. She put the bag in the bottom of the closet hoping Happy wouldn't notice if he did come home. She loved Happy but she'd be damned if he thought he would get to treat her like trash and get away with it.

Lexi spent the night locked in her room pacing. Finally around 3 am she fell asleep still not having heard Happy come home. The next morning when she went to leave the room for breakfast, she tripped over Happy's sleeping form laying in front of their door. He must have been in a bad hangover episode because he didn't even stir.

Downstairs Lexi made a pot of coffee and started breakfast. Within 30 minutes the smells had wafted through enough of the house that everyone had joined her in the kitchen. Happy came up behind where she stood at the counter and whispered in her ear.

"Can we talk?"

"Nope. You said what you wanted to last night."

"Sweets I'm sorry. I fucked up."

"Excuse me I need to feed my children," she told him slipping out from under his arm.

Breakfast was awkward to say the least. Lexi didn't know Ian so nothing was said to him but you could tell Kozik and Bec were trying to keep small talk going so things wouldn't be so weird. After eating Lexi started clean up and then returned to her room locking the door behind her. After the previous night she wasn't in the mood to deal with Happy's attitude or half ass apologies. From the noises outside the door she could tell he was putting together the second crib and other furniture in the nursery across the hall.

The next few weeks would continue with the couple not talking. Lexi had stopped locking herself in the room but she still wasn't allowing Happy to sleep with her at night. On the nights he was in bed before her, she would sleep in one of the guest rooms. He wasn't leaving town on runs so he'd spent time between the garage SAMTAC ran and his tattoo parlor to make the money for the family. Always making sure a patch or prospect was guarding her when he wasnt around.

Bec visited daily since she had moved out. She found a small apartment downtown close to the club house and Kozik had been staying there more often as time went on. Lexi was happy for the couple though she knew it would be awhile before Kozik fully opened up to the woman. He had a tendency to let things slip through his fingers not believing he deserved them. In early December, Happy decided he'd had enough of her quiet and ignoring games.

"Pack your shit."

"Excuse me?" She asked him looking up from the book she was reading in the living room.

"You're going home to Charming," he told her.

"Fuck you Happy. This is my house too. You can't just boot me when you feel like it," Lexi snapped.

"You're miserable and don't want to be here anyways! You think I haven't noticed you've got a runner bag in the bottom of the closet? So go get your shit and I'm taking you to Charming so you aren't stuck with me anymore."

"You honestly think I want to leave you that bad?" Lexi asked him, tears welling in her eyes. She may have been upset but she thought they'd work through it not that he'd kick her out.

"You can't tell me you want to be with me with the way you've ignored me for months. You don't even tell me when the twins appointments are anymore so I can go to them. So not only are you cutting me off from your life, but you're cutting me off from my kids too."

With his last comment her tears broke free. She never meant to hurt him to that extent. For him to feel empty, she just didn't know how to approach the subject after the anger had dissipated. Seeing her tears fall he tried hard not to lose his resolve. He didn't want her so far away in Charming but he also didn't want her feeling like she was forced to stay with him either.

"I'll get my bags if that's what you want," she finally told him sniffling and wiping tears from her eyes.

When she got upstairs in their room she finally let all the sobs escape. He didn't want her around. Didn't even make note of the twins being around either. She knew this day would come but had always told herself Happy was different. Now she saw she was wrong. Grabbing her bag from the closet and a few toiletries from the bathroom she made her way downstairs and out the back door to her car. The skies matching her mood pouring down rain. She didn't even take the time to tell him goodbye.

Lexi had been driving on the highway for about five minutes when her phone started to ring. Digging through her bag she saw Happy's name flash across the screen but she refused to answer. His name continued to pop up three more times before she finally answered.

"What?"

"Where are you? I went to the room and you were gone."

"You wanted me to leave remember?"

"Lexi not like this! This weather is shit."

As Happy finished his comment Lexi hit a puddle in the road almost losing control.

"I'm fine. Not your concern," She told him. Little did she know the car behind her wouldn't be as lucky with the puddle. He lost control and hit the back end of Lexi's car flinging her into the concrete barrier where she quickly lost consciousness.
