Author's note:this version of the Pokémon world have a lot of creative liberties, so I don't want people complaining that "I'm not faithful enough" because it was planned with these liberties in mind.

It's the year 2024, we are somewhere in southamerica, in an interview with a famous Pokémon trainer of about 25 years. The interview was relatively normal, with questions like: how was your beginning? What or who inspired you to be a trainer? How many countries/regions did you travel to and when? How did you get your champion title? Until they asked a very difficult question for him, because he knows that not even his Pokémon is aware of it.

Why his Lucario is so...strange?

He didn't know what to answer, because he didn't know the true answer, so he decided to answer what he knew.

—Well... I don't know why my Lucario's aura is different and why he has the ability he has. Maybe it has to do with his real parents, but not even he knows them...

I remember finding him in a forest when i was resting in Kanto, 6 years ago...the champion gave his best answer about the ambiguous and strange case of his youngest Pokémon and the closest thing he's ever had to a son.

In order to get to know this Lucario well, we must go back to before his birth, outside this astral plane...

In a place unknown for the living, there was a soul. A depressed soul, which, although in his previous life he lived and died happily, It wasn't free from dark thoughts, memories and days. It was the love that he gave and his loved ones gave him that made him simply not want to get away from them.

Susan...Matt...John...older brother...how much I miss them...I wish I could restart my life and meet them again or different versions of them. Also, I couldn't comply my promise to protect him...–he said sad and melancholic in his loneliness through that empty path, remembering the people who sometime made him happy-

That soul felt cold, very cold, almost as if it were freezing. He missed the warmth he had when he was alive, not just literally, also metaphorically and psychologically. He remembered his first date, when he met his in-laws, his friends, and so on. Not all of them were memories of beautiful experiences, also dark ones, like when he found out he was adopted, the bullying he suffered for being so cowardly and shy, but especially, the moment he died at the age of 57, in what seemed being an hospital from the future, saying goodbye to his loved ones, but what he remembered most was undoubtedly the last projection in which he saw his non-biological older brother, who had died 19 years earlier.

–Brother...thanks for everything, we'll meet again on a sunny day, and when that moment arrives, I will be the one who will protect you...–said the sad and melancholic soul, remembering the promise he had made when he was alive and young. If at that time was alive, he had be crying by now.

At that moment, a light appeared far away, indicating that the moment he was been waiting for so long had arrived, and that his long journey ended. The soul didn't know how much time had passed or where or in what being it was going to reincarnate, but even so, with determination and knowing that its time had come, it headed towards that light, getting closer and closer, and when it touched it, it was blinded momentarily for this one. He felt how he was transferred to a new world, to a new body, and how his memories and intelligence were restarting, leaving nothing of his previous life, or at least, that was what seemed and was true in most cases, except for some...

Pokemon Universe Reboot, Earth, Asian continent, Kanto, May 22, 2018 AD

When that light faded, the first thing he saw was a forest, which, as a newborn, he couldn't see clearly. It was a sunny day, the trees blocked the sunlight a bit, and he was upside down.

His mind, upon reincarnating, was completely reset, so everything he learned and his memories of his past life have vanished of the memory of his new body, or rather, hidden from his current life.

Its fur and tail were light blue, with some black parts like the hind legs, and its size was 0.7 meters. He had reincarnated as a Pokemon, specifically a Riolu, in a different universe not only than his past life, but also, from the Pokémon universe that we know. 2 strange bipedal figures for him at that time seemed to be discussing something to close to him, after a while, look at him with regret and leave him in that place, leaving him alone.

Being a newborn, all he could do was lie down on the grass. But, almost miraculously, someone passed by.

A young human who looked to be about 19 years old passed by, just to relax for a while. From his clothing, he seemed to be a Pokémon trainer from around here, and you could tell he wasn't a rookie at all. He had the face of a Latin-Asian, he was tall even for an ordinary human (2.00 meters), he wore somewhat casual clothes and, although he had feelings, he was quite expressionless, which would be reflected in his face, being quite quiet and in his combat techniques.

–(Well, I've finished working, I just have to go home and rest. I'll travel around a new region again in 2 years after this break when I return to my home. Wow, the 2016 Kalos league was intense enough to want to take a break)–thought the young man, being a normal day in his life

At that moment, he saw the poor creature, alone, abandoned, defenseless, with nothing and no one nearby, as if his parents had left him there, and although his face didn't show it, he felt very sorry for him.

–(what is a pokemon like this doing, so unprotected and alone in a forest?)–the young man, in an act of kindness, called to the little one whit a childish tone.

The Pokémon was a little scared at first, but when he felt that hug, he felt a calm that he simply couldn't and can't describe even today.

–(Kutengo, you adopted a Pokemon, but not one that was already partially safe, you did it with an abandoned neonate, and you saved its life)–the young man said to himself, proud of what he had just done, taking the creature home.

But, there was another strange feeling that the Riolu had at that moment, a strange…..familiarity.

Arriving at the house, Kutengo fed what he had to the Pokémon, which was a whole new world for him.

The young man thought for a long time about what name to give the creature, until he finally made up his mind.

–Well, boy, from now on you'll be called Sutibun, I'm Kutengo, although they also call me Ben. I'm your owner, and I'll protect you and raise you–he boy had said to the baby, now with a name obviously.

The newborn didn't understand what he was saying, but there was something in those words that gave him back that strange feeling that...he had met someone similar before. That feeling would haunt him again years later, and much worse...

This is not only the beginning of this story, nor of the new life of this individual, but also, the first part of a universe that will be built.
