Chapter 6

Apparently, people remembered her, after Jasmin had woken up, gotten dressed, and putting on her glasses she had followed her roommates down to get breakfast. On the way there was a lot of staring, it began in the common room where a few Gryffindors were staring. When they got to the Great Hall the room suddenly got quieter, the conversations did not stop but became more whispers, she could hear the word 'scar' whispered quite a few times.

After she was halfway done with her breakfast Ron sat down opposite her.

"Good Morning Ron" She said

"Morrnin'" He Replied looking a bit tierd.

"Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah.." yawned Ron.

When Ron looked around the table at all the food he woke up a bit and he filled his plate and dug in. Evidently, the big amount of food he ate during yesterday's feast hadn't filled him up as he took a rather big breakfast.

Before leaving breakfast Jasmin had gotten her timetable for her classes, looked like things like Math were not on the list, instead, it was a thing like Charms, Transfiguration, and Defence Against the Dark Arts shortened to DADA. Next week they would have a flying class, that sounded interesting.

One of the biggest challenges with her classes ended up being just finding them, it looked like the castle had a habit of moving around, star cases moved, the portraits were visiting each other and Jasmin could swear that one of the armors had followed her.

Teachers did react a bit differently to her, Professor Flitwick the Charms teacher had made a happy squeak when he answered his role call, Professor Sprout the Herbology teacher had given her a happy nod, and Professor McGonagall hadn't reacted any different to her than any other student.

Charms and Herbology had been rather relaxed while Transfiguration had started with a strict warning about the dangers and what would happen to any student who didn't listen.

DADA was a class that Ron and the other boys had looked forward to and Jasmin had to agree it sounded interesting, sadly the class was rather awful, Professor Querril either did not know what he was talking about or was too scared to talk about it.

Then there were potions with Professor Snape, the look he had given her at the feast was not a nice one at all, and her scar had hurt a lot when their eyes meet, she still wasn't sure what it meant.

Ron told her that he was the head of Slytherin House and was known to favor them.

Snape had walked into his class with his robes flapping behind him, in the dark potions classroom he almost looked like a giant bat. He did a roll call and when he got to Jasmin he sneered

"Oh yes, Potter, our new... celebrity."

Apparently, the Slytherin students found this hilarious.

He did a speech about Potions, how it didn't include any wand-waving or incarnations, how they could if they had the gift brew glory. He also did snide remarks about most of his students being bumbling fools, this was not a cheerful teacher.

"Potter!" Snape said suddenly making her jump. "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

Jasmin had no idea, she saw Hermione's arm go up while Ron looked as confused as Jasmin.

"I.. I don't know sir"

"Tut, tut — fame clearly isn't everything," Snape said with a sneer.

Jasmin wanted to scream, she had not asked to be famous, she would be very happy if people didn't stare at her.. even better if she had no reason to be famous, then she would have had parents.

"Let's try again. Potter, where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?"

The word sounded familiar, it was in one of the early chapters of the book, where did it come from,

"It is found in the stomach of.. a goat?"

"Correct but it sounds too much like you are guessing. What is the difference, Potter, between monkshood and wolfsbane?"

She had to think for a moment, they sounded familiar but what was it?

"Tic Toc, Potter"

Wait, was this a trick question? Sounds like something this teacher would do.

"They aren't, they are the same plant."

"Took you long enough," Snape said still sneering, Jasmin got a feeling that he wouldn't be happy either way if she was right or wrong in the questions, it was something about him, he clearly did not like her and she did not know what she could have done towards him.

"For your information, Potter, asphodel, and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of Living Death. A bezoar is indeed a stone from the stomach of a goat and can cure you of most poisons. Monkshood and Wolfsbane also goes under the name aconite. Well? Why aren't you all copying that down?"

As the class continued they had to brew a simple potion to cure boils, Snape walked around the classroom and criticized them for almost everything they did, Jasmin noted that he didn't give them any advice. Apparently, the exception was Malfoy, Snape apparently liked him and told the others to look at his well-made brew.

Suddenly green smoke filled the room as one of the cauldrons melted, poor Neville was drenched and moaned in pain as red boils sprang up on his body.

"Idiot boy!" snarled Snape, clearing the spilled potion away with one wave of his wand. "I suppose you added the porcupine quills before taking the cauldron off the fire?"

"Take him up to the hospital wing," Snape spat at Seamus who was sitting next to Neville. He then rounded at Jasmin.

"You! Potter! Why didn't you tell him not to add the quills? Though he'd make you look good if he got it wrong, did you? 5 points from Gryffindor."

Jasmin was stunned, did this man seriously think it was her fault? She had been focused on her and Ron's brew. She was too stunned to say anything and Ron gave her a sympathetic look.

When they left the class Jasmin walked with slumped shoulders, she had lost 5 points in her first week, because of an unfair teacher that for some reason hated her guts.

"Cheer up, Snape has taken loads of points from Fred and Geroge.. and most other Gryffindors as well, good thing you didn't talk back, I have heard he can get really nasty." Ron said patting her shoulder.

"How could he get nastier?"

If this was a taste of how Potions was going to be, then it would likely be her worst and most hated class.

"I am going to visit Hagrids later, you want to tag along?" Jasmin asked Ron sounding a bit more cheerful.

Later that day Jasmin and Ron made their way to Hagrid's hut, it was nice meeting Hagrid again, she introduced Ron and Hagrid knew a Weasley when he saw one.

"Hope yeh not as much trouble as your brothers." Hagrid said with a smile.

"Hey, Percy is not that bad" Jasmin cut in with a giggle.

"I spent half me life chasin' yer twin brothers away from the forest."

Hagrid had a big dog named Fang, Jasmin tried to stay away from him as her memories of 'aunt' Marge's dogs, Hagrid tried to encourage her to pet Fang but in the end, she was saved by Ron, he petted the dog and ended up with Fang's head in his lap, drooling happily.

Something she honestly could do without was the rock cakes, both she and Ron said they liked them but they could bearly chew without their teeth cracking.

They talked about their classes and come to the subject of the potion teacher.

"Snape must be the worst teacher that exists." Jasmin said

"Can't be, he is a Hogwarts teacher, he been her' for years. " Hagrid answered.

"Well he hates me, he does anything he can to take points off, a classmate's cauldron melted and he blamed me because I was at the table next to him," Jasmin said looking very put out.

"Rubbish! He got no reason to hate you" Hagrid said but he didn't meet Jasmin's eyes when he said it.

Hagrid soon changed the subject to Ron's brother Charlie, Jasmin found it slightly suspicious. While Hagrid and Ron spoke Jasmin a cutting from the daily prophet that was on Hagrid's table.

GRINGOTTS BREAK-IN LATEST

Investigations continue into the break-in at Gringotts on 31 July, widely believed to be the work of Dark wizards or witches unknown. Gringotts goblins today insisted that nothing had been taken. The vault that was searched had in fact been emptied the same day.

"But we're not telling you what was in there, so keep your noses out if you know what's good for you," said a Gringotts spokesgoblin this afternoon.

"Hagrid, it says the break-in was on my birthday, you think it happened when we were there?"

Hagrid once again did not meet her eyes and quickly got up to get more tea.

Jasmin thought about the part that stuck out the most for her 'The vault that was searched hadin fact been emptied earlier that same day'

Was this the same super-secret package that Harid had gotten, to get to Hogwarts that was the only safer place?

When they left Jasmin's head was spinning with different ideas and maybe a conspersosy or two, she had made herself believe the package that some evil wizard tried to steal was at Hogwarts and that something was fishy with Snape and his hatred for her.

Jasmin had tried to be civil with Malfoy but he had not had the same thoughts. She had rejected his proposal to help her find the right wizard families, the Weasleys, Ron's family was apparently very low even tho they were pure-bloods. She could not understand why, Ron was her friend and she liked him very much, his older twin brothers were funny even if they sometimes maybe become too much, and lastly, Percy the Prefect, lived up to his title, he was not the most fun person but he was polite if strict.

Compare that to Malfoy that looked up his nose at everyone and never shut up about "my father", if he was anything to go by his family must be complete rubbish.

He seemed to have taken it personally that she chose to be friends with Ron and had not stopped trying to make her feel bad, insult or in any other way make her life difficult.

She only really needed to put up with Malfoy and the other Slytherins during potions and then she had a bigger problem with the hateful Snape, but she read in the notice in the Gryffindor common room that they would have flying lessons with the Slytherins.

This did worry her, it would be way too easy for Malfoy to make an accident happen so she fell off her broom and broke her neck.
Jasmin liked her fellow Gryffindor first years or at least did not mind them, Ron and her spend loads of time together and Lavender and Pavarti were always nice to her even if she wasn't as much for gossip as them, Hermione was a bit harder, she was a bit snobby when it came to studying and was just a bit hard to be around. She had not spent a lot of time with the other boys but she felt safe enough around them that she wasn't too worried if she made a fool of herself during the flying lessons that they would bully or make fun of her, not too much, some teasing she could handle and even laugh off, but if the Slytherins were there, that would mean that she never would hear the end of any mistake she would make.

"You don't know that you'll make a fool of yourself," said Ron reasonably. "Anyway, I know Malfoy's always going on about how good he is at Quidditch, but I bet that's all talk."

Jasmin was thankful for what Ron tried to do but she could not help feeling almost terrified for the lesson coming up, Malfoy had been bragging about all his skills on a broom, how he had evaded muggles on flying machines, but he was not the only one who bragged about similar things and who had been on brooms many times before.

She took some solace that Neville hadn't been on a broom, but he could almost fall to his death walking down a non-moving staircase, if he flew Jasmin was afraid that he could get really hurt, Hermione was also nervous, this seemed to be a lesson she didn't look forward too,
Jasmin guessed that book learning wouldn't really be any help for her.

During post Neville had gotten a glass orb, it was apparently called a Remembrall, it had some smoke inside it, and it apparently turned red if you have forgotten something. It turned red as soon as Neville touched it and he looked distressed. "I can't remember what I have forgotten!"

Malfoy who was walked past had snatched it from Neville, Ron jumped to his feet and Jasmin gave Malfoy a disapproving look. Not much more happened before Professor McGonagall had materialized.

"What's going on?" she asked

"Malfoy's got my Remembrall, Professor."

Scowling, Malfoy quickly dropped the Remembrall back on the table.

"Just looking,"

After he left Jasmin let out a breath, and looked at Ron and Neville

"Professor McGonagall has the eyes of a hawk.. or maybe a cat in her case. Neville you might want to keep an eye on your Remembrall, I did not like the look in Malfoy's eyes when he put it back on the table."

Later that day Jasmin and her fellow Gryffindors were hurrying toward their flying lesson, it was a nice day if not a little windy. when they arrived the Slytherins were already there and a bunch of brooms was laying on the ground. Jasmin had heard from Ron's twin brothers that the school brooms were rather bad, not flying straight or that they started to vibrate when they flew too high.

The teacher Madam Hooch barked for everyone to stand by a broom, Jasmin looked down at the broom next to her, she knew it had seen better days even without any knowledge of flying brooms.

"Stick out your right hand over your broom, and then say UP!"

There was a chorus of "UP"

To her great surprise the broom jumped up to her hand, she looked around and saw that most brooms had not done the same. Did she just have a better broom than the others or was she just good at making brooms jump?

Madam Hooch then showed everyone how to mount their brooms, it made Jasmin very happy when she heard Hooch tell Malfoy that he had done it wrong for years, she saw that Ron was also grinning.

"Now, when I blow my whistle, you kick off from the ground, hard. Keep your brooms steady, rise a few feet, and then come straight back down by leaning forward slightly. On my whistle... 1...2..."

But she didn't get to three before a very nervous-looking Neville accidentally pushed off too early and started to float higher and higher

"Come back boy!" Madam Hooch shouted but it was no use as Neville was going higher and higher.

Jasmin looked in horror and thought she saw Neville's hand slipping, he lost his grip and Jasmin closed her eyes, she heard a yelp a gasp and a crack, she opened her eyes and saw Neville laying on the ground, it looked like his wrist was at an odd angle and it was soon confirmed by Madam Hooch.

"Broken wrist. Come on, boy...it's all right, up you get." she looked at the rest of the class

"None of you is to move while I take this boy to the hospital wing! You leave those brooms where they are or you'll be out of Hogwarts before you can say 'Quidditch.' Come on, dear."

As soon as they were out of earshot Malfoy burst out in laughter " "Did you see his face, the great lump?" the rest of the Slytherin joined in the laughter

"Shut up, Malfoy," snapped Parvati Patil.

"Ooh, sticking up for Longbottom?" said Pansy Parkinson, a hard-faced Slytherin girl. "Never thought you'd like fat little crybabies, Parvati."

"Look, it's that stupid thing Longbottom's gran sent him." Malfoy laughed as he picked up Nevilles Remembrall which he had dropped when he fell.

Jasmin went up to Malfoy and held up her hand.

"I can take that and make sure he gets it back."

But Malfoy just gave her a nasty smile.

"No I don't think I will."

"I am pretty sure you can afford your own if you want one so much, and if not maybe your father can buy one for you." Jasmin said trying to sound calm, she hid her left hand behind her back so Malfoy wouldn't see how much it was shaking.

"I think I'll leave it somewhere for Longbottom to find, how about... up a tree?" he said ignoring her.

"Why are you such a... " Jasmin was not sure how to finish it, not as she had much chance to as Malfoy kicked out and flew up on his broom. It appeared he knew how to fly, in that case, there wasn't much Jasmin could do, she didn't know how to fly.

"Come and get it, Potter!"

Before she knew that she had done it Jasmin had mounted her broom and kicked off following him up. She heard a "NO!" from Hermione, she didn't hear but guessed it was a warning about what Madam Hooch had said.

The strangest thing, her hair was wiping behind her, her cloak flapping and the wind on her face, it all felt so... right. She was never good at anything just like that but she felt like she could do almost anything on a broom, she speed towards Malfoy. She heard gasps, screams, and some whooping, she thought the latter was Ron, but her eyes were on Malfoy that looked stunned when he saw her.

"You had your fun, give it here and I'll make sure it comes back to its rightful owner"

"Nah, I think I'll keep it" Malfoy tried to sneer but he did look worried, and Jasmin realized, she was not, not one bit.

Jasmin bent forward and shot forward to snatch the ball from him, Malfoy barely got out of the way, she could hear the cheers from the ground.

"What is the matter? You look like you are afraid of me... what did you call me, the little pathetic orphan girl? Can't you take me on, do you need Crabbe and Goyle? Maybe you need Snape?"

Malfoy looked less and less certain by the second but he got a mean glint in his eyes.

"Catch it if you can, then!" he shouted, and he threw the glass ball high into the air and streaked back toward the ground.

Jasmin should have been ready for this, why did this surprise her, but she did not have time to think, she let her instincts guide her, she saw hot the ball was flying high and soon dipped so she dived, it was steep, she was flying faster than ever before the ground was coming faster and faster but she was closing to the ball.. and she caught it and pulled up her broom in almost the last second and fell to the grass. The landing was almost perfect as her impact whit the grass was lighter than if just had tripped, she stood up and smiled towards her classmates for all of 2 seconds before she heard.

"JASMIN POTTER!"

It was Professor McGonagall, she was running towards her.. running that was not a good sign.

"Never! in all my time at Hogwarts... " Jasmin had never seen McGonagall like this, she was flushed, shocked,, and not least furious. "How dare you... might have broken your neck!"

"It wasn't her fault, Professor..."

"Be quiet, Miss Patil"

"But Malfoy..."

"That's enough, Mr. Weasley. Potter, follow me, now."

Jasmin did as she was told, Ron looked afraid but also.. impressed she thought. Pavarti and Levander looked sympathetic, Hermione just had her arms crossed and 'I told you so' written on her face. Malfoy and his companions looked triumphant.

Jasmin felt a bit numb, up there in the sky she felt free, confident, and brave. She was going to be expelled.. this was the first and last time she would ever fly, the best and worst moment in her magical career. She tried to figure out some argument so she wouldn't be expelled but from her experience with the Dursleys, arguments always ended up with worse punishments, sometimes they hurt. She was going to the Dursleys, how would they punish her now for coming back, unwanted. In less than 2 weeks, this must be a new school record.

They had walked what must have been half the castle and the professor had not said one word or even looked back to see if she was still following. She was not sure where they were going, most likely the Headmaster's office, she had no idea where it was. Suddenly they stopped outside a classroom.

McGonagall opened the door and peered in.

"Excuse me, Professor Flitwick, could I borrow Wood for a moment?"

Jasmin's heart fell even lower, she did not know it could. She had heard Filch complain that the punishments were too lenient, how they used to string up students in chains, apparently beating students with wood was still a thing. Well, she would take her punishment, and if getting beaten by a stick would keep her from being expelled she would gladly take it.

To her surprise a boy came out of the classroom, he was a burly 5th year that looked rather confused.

"Follow me, you two" Professor McGonagall said and marched them up the corridor. Wood looked curiously at Jasmin, she looked back, he looked strong.. maybe he was going to.. NO! They would not let students give out punishments.

"In here"

She let them in an almost empty classroom, Peeves were writing rude things on a blackboard but he disappeared when McGonagall barked "Out Peeves!"
She slammed the door and looked at Jasmin and Wood, Jasmin could not help taking a step back.

"Potter, this is Oliver Wood. Wood... I've found you a Seeker."

"Are you serious, Professor?" Wood's expression had changed from puzzlement to delight.

"Absolutely, The girl's a natural. I've never seen anything like it. Was that your first time on a broomstick, Potter?"

Jasmin did not trust her voice so she just nodded. She was not sure what was going on, Seeker sounded waggly familiar.

"She caught that thing in her hand after a fifty-foot dive, didn't even scratch herself. Charlie Weasley couldn't have done it."

Jasmin noticed that she still was holding tightly to Neville's Remmbrall, wait? Was Professor McGonagall praising her?

Wood was looking very excited. "Ever seen a game of Quidditch, Potter?"

"Wood's captain of the Gryffindor team," Professor McGonagall explained.

"She's just the build for a Seeker, too. Light, speedy. We'll have to get her a decent broom, Professor, a Nimbus Two Thousand or a Cleansweep Seven, I'd say." Wood was staring at her, she felt more than a little uncomfortable.

"I shall speak to Professor Dumbledore and see if we can't bend the first-year rule. Heaven knows, we need a better team than last year. Flattened in that last match by Slytherin, I couldn't look Severus Snape in the face for weeks…"

Professor McGonagall peered sternly over her glasses at Jasmin

"I want to hear you're training hard, Potter, or I may change my mind about punishing you."

Then suddenly the Professor was smiling... smiling at her.

"Your father would have been proud," she said. "He was an excellent Quidditch player himself."

"My father would be proud of me getting expelled?" Jasmin asked as the rest of the thing Professor McGonagall had said.

She looked a bit stern again.

"No, you are not getting expelled.. if that isn't what you want Miss Potter."

"NO!.. I mean.. Madam Hooch said if we took off we would be expelled."

"In that case.. why did you take off?"

"Malfoy stole... Malfoy stole Neville's Remmbrall and flew off with it so I followed, when I got to him he threw it, and well, you saw me catch it..."

Professor McGonagall was massaging her temples.

"I can't punish him without punishing you. If you are willing to let this bygone be bygone then I will let you join the Quidditch team. "

"But.. I broke the rules how am I not..." Jasmin started but was interrupted by Wood

"Professor, are you sure she didn't hit her head on the way down?"

"No she was brilliant. Miss Potter, I hope this event makes you think again before you break the school rules. "

"Thanks, Professor. I will be more careful in the future. "

Wood talked cheerfully with Jasmin on his way back to class, Jasmin tried to listen but she had to focus most of her concentration to make sure her knees didn't buckle in on themselves. She snapped up some things, apparently, she would be the youngest seeker in the least a century. When they walked past a girl's toilets she said her goodbye to Wood and went in, thankfully it was empty.

She walked into an empty cubicle locked herself in and sat on the toilet seat, she put her head in her hands and tried to take slow steady breaths. Her head was swimming, she hadn't been expelled, she had mouthed off against Malfoy, in the air... on a broom. She didn't really know what had happened, as soon as she was airborne her fear and nervusment had been replaced with calm confidence, even when she did a steep dive she had felt in full control.

She sat in the stall for a while before she left, she splashed some water in her face, took a last deep breath, and walked out towards lunch.

She had barely taken 5 steps into the great hall before all the other first-year Gryffindors heads turned towards her, they stared and looked like they were expecting bad news.
When she came closer Levander and Pavarti jumped up and come up to her putting a hand each on her shoulder, Jasmin tensed up at this, both girls seemed to take her tensing as bad news.

"Did they..?" Pavarti asked

"Are you...?" Levander asked.

Jasmin saw how Ron had joined up behind the girls.

"I... I am.. not expelled" Jasmin stammerd.

"I knew it" Levander said beaming

"No you didn't" Pavarti laughed.

They lead Jasmin to the table and finally let go of her shoulders, Jasmin took some food at random feeling too distracted to really look at what she was taking.

"Oi, What happened? Professor McGonagall looked furious when she took you away. " Ron asked, he looked towards the Slytherin table for a second and said darkly "Malfoy gloated and laughed about how you would be expelled."

Jasmin looked around, she could sense that everyone around paid attention to her, so she whispered to Ron.

"They made me Gryffindor seeker."

"What!? That is bril" Ron started but got hushed by Jasmin

"It is supposed to be a secret right now."

Ron looked like he understood but his face was beaming.

Suddenly there were a pair of Twins behind Jasmin.

"Looks like Ron heard the news," Fred said in a low voice

"We are on the team too, beaters!" Geroge said

"I think we will win this year, Wood was skipping when he told us.. you must be brilliant." Fred said.

They left as fast as they had appeared and joined Lee Jordan further down the table.

It did not take long before another person came up behind Jasmin, this time Draco Malfoy with Crabbe and Goyle.

"Having a last meal, Potter? When are you getting the train back to the Muggles?"

"You sound much braver now when you have backup, did they hear of afraid you were up in the air?" Jasmin asked.

"Shut up scarhead, I take you on alone anytime."

"Is this really your best attempt Malfoy?" Jasmin asked and was surprised by herself, she tried to stay out of conflict, what was she doing!?

"Have you thought about a ghostwriter?" Jasmin asked

"What are you babbling about Potter?" Malfoy sounded confused.

"Well, I saw this story about this famous guy who wrote this book, he got a lot of credit for it until it came out that he had hired a couple of writers to write it for him. "

"And why are you talking about this?" Malfoy asked, he did not look like he had much patience left.

"Oi, Fred, Geroge come for a sec" Jasmin shouted towards the twins, who got up and joined her, Malfoy looked like he was afraid to get hit.

"What can we do for you?" Geroge asked and looked suspiciously at Malfoy.

"You two are rather good at insults arent' you?" Jasmin asked the twins.

"You could say we have dabbled in the art" Fred said.

"Great, I want you two to help poor Malfoy here. He is doing his best to throw insults at me, but he can't just come up with any good ones."

Malfoy went beet red and the twins grinned.

"You want us to help him insult you?" Fred asked.

"Jupp! He needs the help."

Jasmin could not hear what he said but Malfoy stamped away looking very angry, Crabbe and Goyle in toe.

"What was all that about?" Ron asked.

Jasmin gave him a smile. "Did you see his face?" Jasmin looked at the twins. "Sorry to drag you in."

"We don't mind, do we Fred?"

"No Geroge we don't, I found it all funny."

"As you asked so nicely, I guess Fred and I will have to come up with some insults if Malfoy comes asking," George said and winked.

The twins left and Jasmin quickly ate the last of her food and excused herself from the table, she went to the first empty room she could find and sat down with her back to the wall.

Her hands were shaking, she think she had succeeded to look calm on the outside, what had she done? Why had she provoked Malfoy like that, sure he started it but this was not her, she did not go out to make more trouble, she stayed out. No trouble meant she was safe.

When Jasmin felt collected again she made her way to find the hospital wing. She got lost twice but was shown in the right direction by a Hufflepuff prefect and soon found herself in front of the door to the hospital wing, she was not sure if she was supposed to knock or not so she opened the door a little and looked in, the door did squeak and the Matron turned around and saw her.

"Yes? Are you hurt?" the Matron asked.

"Ehm no.. I just wanted to say hello to Neville Longbottom"

"Come in, but make it quick he needs to get his rest."

Jasmin could see Neville in one of the beds and made her way to him. He looked up at her surprised.

"Jasmin? What are you doing here?"

"I came here to see how you were, are you alright?"

"Yes, Madam Pomfrey fixed my wrist, it is just a little sore so I have to stay here until it is completely fixed."

"You are lucky then, in the Muggle world, a broken wrist would take weeks to heal. By the way, I have something for you."

Neville looked confused for a moment but then his face brightened as he saw his Remembrall.

"You dropped it, Malfoy tried to steal it but got it back."

"Ah, Thank you!"

Neville's smile was contagious and Jasmin knew this was the right thing to do, she had originally planned to give it back when he was back in the common room but it was nice cheering Neville up.

They talked for a few minutes before Madam Pomfrey kicked Jasmin out.
Jasmin then made her way back to the Gryffindor tower and into the common room and saw that there was a bunch of Gryffindors in a circle listening to someone speaking.

"He threw the ball towards the ground and she just dived after.. it was incredible!"

Jasmin recognized that voice, it was Ron

"You should have seen Malfoy's face!" Parvati laughed.

"Knowing the brooms we use for the flying lessons are rubbish, that makes it even more impressive," Seamus said

"Oi there she is! The lady of the hour"

Everyone turned around and looked at her, even Percy looked somewhat interested. She was internally screaming.

"How did you do it?"

"Was it really your first time on a broom?"

"How did you get out from being expelled."

Jasmin was bombarded with questions she slowly made her way to the stairs up to her dormitory. I was lucky, it was my first time on a broom, I got a second chance?"

As soon as she was out of sight she darted into her dormitory and collapsed on her bed.

"You were lucky." came Hermione's voice from her bed, Jasmin had not seen her.

"I know"

"You could have broken your neck at the drive or even worse gotten expelled."

"I know"

"What were you thinking? Madam Hooch told us not to fly."

"I.. don't know, I don't like how Malfoy acts, he stole Nevilles Remembrall."

"But had it not been better to tell a teacher? How much detention did you get, I didn't see any points lost."

"I didn't get detention. "

"WHAT!?" Hermione got up from her bed and looked Jasmin directly in the eyes "How did you not get any detention or even a point taken?"

"McGonagall made a deal with me" Jasmin answered trying to keep her eyes steady on Hermione.

"What kind of deal?"

"I can't tell you, I can say that you will know soon."

Hermione made a not-so-happy sound and got back to her book, Jasmin closed the curtains around her bed and laid down. This had been a crazy day, she went from being more free and confident to being terrified that she would be expelled, she did not want to go back.. she had a home, and friends... she couldn't go back now.
