"Hey Mom!" Jamie said excitedly "Jack's here!"
Carrie smiles and opens the door letting Jack in. "Jack!" She hugs him. "I missed you."
he hugged her, but shied away from both Sophie and Jamie, a look of panic crossing his face. As if his very touch would kill them.
Carrie gives Jack a concerned look. "Jack honey is everything ok?" She asks.
"Yeah...I just...I " he backed up as Sophie tried to hug him again.
He had taken a child's life. It was the only explination. Jamie however could never rweally freeze to death anymore. Jack's avoidance frm his Prince was troubling as well.
Carrie wraps an arm around Jack's shoulder. "Do you want to talk about it?" She asks.
"I...I went to a child today. She...she begged me to hold her...hold her until she was warm again. I...I sang to her, until she..." he burst into tears
Carrie hugs her son to her. "It's ok Jack, it's going to be ok."
"SHe was no older than Sophie. I wanted so much to just fly her away, to someplace warm...but Reaper forbid it. Not when they call me."
Carrie begins to run her hand through Jack's hair. "It's ok honey it's ok."
"Mom...Mom?": Jack asked "Can I have a cookie?"
Carrie nods. "Of course you can"
he smiled
"She was a believer, you know. One of mine."
Carrie nods. "Really? Want to tell me about her?" She asks.
"She...I asked Manny...to make her a sprite. She...is now in japan...being Yuki Onna, like she wished."
"Really? Think you could bring her by so we can meet her?" Carrie asked.
"No. I'm sorry." he hung his head.
"Let's go get that cookie." She said standing up.
"yeah!" he said, lighting up immediately.
