Author's Notes: HOLY GUACOMOLE! It has been such a long time since I've posted a chapter to this story 0_0
How long has it been since I've made an update? I made this story in 2016 and the last chapter I have was posted in 2017 so that makes it hmmm.. 6 YEARS?! Can't believe it's been that long!
But I just wanted to say that I took a very long break from writing and I recently found my spark again and decided that I wanted to log back into the old fanfic account to see what I've missed. And holy crap, I had gotten so many views, favorites, follows and reviews for this story! I never thought that something I made when I was a teenager would become as popular as it is now. I would hate to keep you guys waiting any longer so I am going to do what I should have done years ago and finish what I started!
I am 22 years old now, so my writing style has only improved with time so I hope this next chapter will be even better than the first three and that you all enjoy it!~ Thank you for the support over the years and I hope this chapter does not disappoint! Xoxo- Foxy
The Lost Daughter
Chapter 4: You Want to Do WHAT With Me?!
After Kaname had just royally embarrassed her, she found a nice quiet place on the school's roof to try and calm herself down. She hated that damned pureblood with a passion! He was always playing games with her and doing everything he could to try and get underneath her skin. And she was having just about enough of it. She didn't care if she agreed to willingly live in the moon dorms with Kaname of all people, even if she originally did it for Yuki's sake, Zero was ready to speak up her mind to the headmaster and tell him how big of a mistake this whole idea was.
"I refuse to stay with that pervert any longer… Ever since he found out I was a girl he's been acting really strange around me. Not strange in a sense like he normally does, but in a lusty kind of way… Like he wants to.. to…" She said as her mind started to wander to a forbidden place. She thought about the handsome pureblood prince's lips pressing against her own and relived the intimate moment they shared only mere moments ago when he had bitten her. She traced her fingers along the side of her neck where she could still feel those two small holes his fangs had left behind on her porcelain skin as her face turned into a deep shade of magenta when she remembered how good it made her feel.
She vigorously shook her head as she clutched her hair in an embarrassment from just the thought of her and Kaname being intimate with each other. That would never happen anyways. Kaname and her absolutely loathed each other! They've threatened to kill each other on multiple occasions. There was absolutely no chance that Kaname would actually be thinking about her in that kind of manner. Besides, he loved Yuki. Not her. "What are you thinking?! Get ahold of yourself! There's no way I actually enjoyed any of that. He's probably just using some freaky pureblood mind trick on me. Yeah, that has to be the reason." She said quietly to herself as she slapped her cheeks to try and shake the images out of her mind.
Zero leaned back with a sigh as she stared up at the moonlit sky, raising her hand in the air as she let the light of the moon cast a shadow on her delicate hand. "Somehow I knew I would find you up here." She heard an all too familiar voice as she turned to look at Yuki who climbed up a tree with much agility, to join her on the roof. Zero pretended to not care about her best friend's sudden appearance, but deep down she was rejoicing in the fact that she was finally around someone that she could trust. Because as of lately, Zero felt like she had a red target painted on her back and everyone was out to get her.
"What are you doing here? Don't you have your prefect duties to attend too? So stop being useless and go do them." Zero said as she rolled over on her side with her arms still behind her head as she faced away from Yuki, who now had a sour looking expression on her face. They have hardly seen each other since Zero transferred out of the day class and this is how she treats her when they finally have a moment alone together?! "Zero you jerk! Why do you have to be so mean to me all the time?! I came here to check on you because Yagami told me you haven't been going to class!" Yuki said as she started weakly wailing her arms at Zero, bonking the taller girl on the head which made the huntress slightly irritated.
"If you really don't want me here then fine! I'm sorry that I came to check up on you! Be alone for as long as you want!" Yuki yelled out in frustration as she stood up to make her leave, but gasped when she felt Zero reach out to grab her arm before she could escape. She looked down at the silver haired vampire who was now showing her face, and Yuki could feel her stomach twisting when she saw how sorrowful Zero's eyes looked. Yuki knelt back down and stroked Zero's cheek who gratefully nudged into her gentle touches. "Oh Zero… I knew something was wrong. You know you can talk to me about anything." She said as she allowed Zero to lean against her shoulder.
But Zero shook her head as she continued to withhold her emotions. "It's nothing. Just stay like this with me for a little while, okay? I want to take a nap and I thought you would make a nice pillow. So don't move." The huntress said as she allowed her eyes to start to close. Yuki giggled as she moved Zero's head into her lap to allow the other girl to get a well-deserved break. Yuki didn't know what the problem was but she knew there was no point in prying when it came to the stubborn huntress. Whatever the problem was, she knew it probably had something to do with Zero and the other vampires in the night class. So for now, she was okay with them just enjoying this silent moment together like old friends do.
Zero was emotionally exhausted and Yuki always brought her comfort whenever she was around. She never allowed herself to relax except around Lily the horse. And Yuki too had that same safe feeling the equine did that always made Zero feel better. Despite how Kaname had been treating her lately, and her constant doubts about wanting to stay within the night class, she had to remind herself that she was doing it for Yuki's sake. She had to keep strong. She wasn't going to let Kaname Kuran beat her in this little game of war between them. She was still planning on exacting her revenge, she just needed a good opportunity to do it. And it finally hit her exactly what she was going to do. Kaname bothered her because he knew he could get a reaction out of her, so why not just do the opposite then? Kaname was about to get the perfect student he had always pestered her in becoming. He won't bother her anymore if he realized he no longer had any effect on the girl.
It had been a couple of more days since Kaname had drank Zero's blood in the stables and he sat at his desk in class, not being able to help himself from stealing occasional glances at Zero who as of lately had been acting like a model student. She had been showing up to class on time, and she never tried to fight him in the mornings anymore. And because of that, Kaname felt glad because he was starting to think that he was finally taming the unruly hunter that always seemed to give him a headache.
But he also felt that he was missing something in his daily routine. He just didn't know how to explain exactly what he felt was lacking in his life. He admitted to himself that he missed making Zero flustered and seeing her annoyed reaction every time he backed her into a corner. Kaname chuckled as he remembered all the times he made the young girl blush every time he teased her and stopped before she could beg for more. He had become so used to their little game that now that she was no longer giving him the attention he craved, his life felt lacking.
"Kaname-sama? Are you listening to anything I'm telling you right now?" Said Ichijo, the moon dorms vice president, to the pureblood who was absolutely not paying attention to anything the other was saying. "Huh? Did you say something, Takuma?" Said Kaname as he was finally able to pull his gaze away from the silver haired beauty. Ichijo sighed as he placed a hand on his forehead for exaggeration. "I was reminding you that my birthday is tomorrow. I plan on holding a small celebration here at the academy, with your permission of course."
Hearing this gave Kaname a wicked idea as a sinister smile crossed his face. "A birthday party you say? And is attendance mandatory?" He asked as he leaned his head on his hand. "Why, I would hope so. I want all members of the night class to come and celebrate the day of my birth! And I would also like people to come in couples so that everyone has a partner when it comes to the main event, which I have a ball room dance planned! Doesn't that sound like absolute fun?" Said Ichijo as he envisioned his birthday party.
Kaname chuckled darkly as he furthered his plans in his mind. "Interesting. I like the idea, Takuma. I think I will attend too. The night class deserves a time of fun every once in a while." He said as he leaned back in his chair. "I assume you plan on inviting Miss Yuki to the party. I already have invitations printed out. I know how fond you are of her so I made an invitation for her in advance, assuming she would be our guest of honor." But Kaname shook his head.
"No. In fact, I want someone else to attend the party with me. I want Yuki to focus on her prefect duties. I want her to come as a security detail but feel free to extend to her the invite because she is still a guest. But she needs to learn to have a sense of independence, however I would still love to have her company there with me. But I think someone else right now deserves a reward for being a good little subordinate…" Kaname said as he continued to stare at the back of Zero's head who was contently jotting down notes in her notebook.
Ichijo followed his leaders gaze and gasped when he saw exactly who he was looking at. "Uhm, no offense Kaname… But I didn't make Kiryu an invitation. I didn't think he'd want to come because of that fact that you know, he has a putrid hatred for all of us? It's not like it's mandatory for him to come anyways since he is no longer a prefect." Said Ichijo who continued to frown. He knew Kaname liked to play his games, but he still didn't understand why he would want the vampire hunter to attend their soiree. Zero would end up ruining the entire mood for everyone with his foul personality for everybody attending.
Kaname glared at him as he allowed his eyes to glow with that red luster. "He WILL go if I command that he does. My word is law, and if I want him to attend as my plus one then he will do so. Unless you have a problem with that, Takuma?" Kaname said with power booming in his voice which made Ichijo gulp. "N-no, of course not Kaname-sama. You go with whoever you want." Kaname smiled contently as he again got what he wanted. This was the perfect opportunity to mess around with his favorite hunter. She wanted to try and behave so that he would have no reason to punish her? Then he was going to give her a reason to get mad. And Kaname was so ready to see that expression he oh so craved to see on the huntress's face that only he was able of getting her to make.
Class ended and the entire night class was making their way back to the moon dorms to rest and unwind for the day. Zero walked behind the group, keeping her distance from the leaches but still trying her best not to stand out. It's not like she was happy with conforming to their ways, but ever since she started behaving, Kaname hasn't bothered her once which means that her plan was working. She let a small smile grace her lips as she enjoyed the peace that life was allowing her to have. Until she felt that annoying monstrous presence that walked up behind her and placed his chin in the crook of her neck from behind, as he whispered his husky voice in her ear which sent a shiver up her spine.
"Kiryu, I have something to ask you when we get back to the dorms. Come to our room immediately after we make it there. I'll be waiting." Said Kaname to the huntress whose face was now a bight shade of red, but she looked at the ground as her bangs covered her meek expression so that no one else could see the look on her face. Kaname picked up his pace and was now ahead of her, rejoining the front of the group to lead the flock as she stayed behind. She gritted her teeth but tried her best to keep her cool. It seems that Kaname wasn't done playing with her. But whatever it was he wanted; she was going to make sure that he didn't get it. She was done being manipulated by him. But it's not like she could refuse the request of the pureblood, so whether or not she agreed, she had no choice but to meet up with him and find out what his demands were.
Kaname sat at his desk in the room he had shared with Zero and held a box in his lap which was neatly wrapped in a dark blue parchment with a black glittery ribbon holding it all together. He knew about Ichijo's upcoming birthday and originally wanted Yuki to go with him, so as a gift to her he had ordered a couple of dresses he thought he would have loved to see her in. He ordered three in total and landed on a cute light pink gown with matching pink ribbons for his beloved Yuki to wear, but that meant he still had one more left over.
Which was fine by him because now he had an excuse to gift one to another. This was his plan all along. He wanted Zero to attend the party with him, but as herself. It was apparent that Zero was content on keeping her secret about being a girl to a bare minimum, he himself had only found out by accident. And he couldn't think of a better way of messing with her than giving her no choice but to embrace her femininity. He heard the door creak open as Zero walked in with her usual scowl on her prefect face. "What do you want, Kuran?" Said Zero in an annoyed tone.
Kaname smirked as he noticed that her good student act was already starting to falter as he swiveled in his chair to look at her. "This is for you." He said as he placed the present on his desk and nudged it with his hand towards her. Zero gave him a suspicious glare as she got closer and took the box in her hands. "You got me a gift? Why?" She asked the pureblood who only smiled innocently to her question. "Open it first and then I will answer." Zero sighed deeply as she felt a vein pop out on her forehead as she started to untie the box, and once she opened it, her eyes widened in disbelief by what she saw.
Held in her hands was a beautiful lavender colored gown that matched the color of her eyes. It looked pretty tight fitting and had thin spaghetti straps with a flower on the left shoulder. It also had an open cleavage look as the middle part seemed quite exposed with the intent to display cleavage. And the dress had a long train that flowed on the floor. She gritted her teeth as she tightly gripped the dress in her hands, tempted to just rip it to shreds. Just what was he trying to get at by giving her something like this? "What the hell is this for, Kuran?!" She hissed with venom dripping off the tip of her tongue.
Kaname stood up from his seat and walked over to her, placing her hands in his own as he stared deeply into her eyes. "I want you to be my date to Ichijo's birthday party." Zero blinked. Then blinked again. Had she heard him, right? Or did Kaname just ask her out on a date? Zero felt her face turn hot as she stumbled a step backwards, with her cheeks looking feverish. "W-what are you talking about?! Like hell I would be your date! Don't be stupid!" But Kaname's eyes narrowed into a serious gaze as he started walking forward until her back was against the wall and she had nowhere else to run.
Zero tried her best to hide her frustration, but even she could not deny that their close proximity was beginning to make her nervous. Kaname leaned his head forward close enough to where the tips of their noses were brushing, which caused Zero to become weak in the knees at the dominant man that stood over her. "You heard me right. I want you to come with me as my date. You deserve a reward for being so good lately. What better a reward than being my honored guest to a party fit for royalty?" He said slyly as he traced his hand up her body slowly, starting from her waist and trailing it up to her chest and into her hair where he took a lock in his hand and gripped it tightly, pulling her head back slightly which made her let out a gasp.
The huntress could feel her heartbeat quicken in anticipation for what the pureblood was planning to do next but was both surprised and relieved when he let her go as she slowly slid down the wall to rest on her knees, breathing rapidly. Kaname smirked down at her as he saw the state he was able to put her in from just the slightest touches. Zero mustered up the strength to look at him and sent a piercing glare like daggers at him, which left him unfazed. "Just so you know, I'm not asking you. I'm telling you. You are going to be my date whether you like it or not. If you refuse me then I will have no choice but to punish you like I did last time, unless that is what you prefer?" He said as he knelt down to the still sitting girl as he twiddled a piece of her silver hair between his fingers.
The huntress was able to regain her strength slightly as she slapped his hand away and continued to glare at him but she was only met with a mocking smile. "Fine. I'll go. But why do I have to wear this ugly thing? I'd rather go in a suit… Dresses don't suit me. I'm not that kind of woman to walk around in something so girly. I've never looked beautiful in these things anyways." Zero said with disgust at the thought of her wearing a dress. Kaname raised an eyebrow after hearing her talk down to herself like that, and without even thinking, pulled her in to a kiss which left her utterly frozen.
At first she struggled but was useless against his powerful grasp on her as he wrapped his arms tightly around her body. Despite her refusal, she eventually allowed the kiss to happen as she opened her mouth to give his tongue access which happily explored her moist cavern. Their tongues battled as Zero felt her breath become stuck in her throat. Why was this happening? Why was he doing this to her? It made no sense! But yet here he was kissing her as if he had any kind of affection for her at all, and it was really starting to piss her off. Just what did he want from her?!
Their kissed ended when Kaname relaxed his grip on her and allowed her to pull away as she took in a deep exasperated breath. They both now had a deep shade of scarlet across their cheeks as they stared into each other's eyes lustfully. Kaname had to take a moment to recompose himself before he scooted back a little to give her some space. "Don't you ever say something like that about yourself. You are beautiful, Zero. I wish you showed that side of yourself to people more often." He said with a very serious expression on his face.
Zero couldn't believe what she was hearing as she averted her gaze to the ground, trying to avoid his seductive looking eyes that stared at her in that moment. No way in hell did she actually receive a compliment about her looks from the one and only Kaname Kuran! She started twiddling with her fingers as for once her in life, she felt like a giddy teenaged girl. "Stupid… Don't say things like that if you don't mean it. Or do you want me to just shoot you through the heart right now?" She said as she tried her best to look menacing, but her normally pointed expression was drastically more soft looking as she couldn't even fake malice as she stared up at the pureblood.
Kaname smiled down at her and cupped her cheek, but quickly came back to his senses as he stood back up and turned away from her. Just what the hell was he doing, he thought to himself. All he wanted was to tease her a little not assault her with his mouth! But he couldn't help but feel anger hearing her talk so bad about herself like that. It was like it triggered some kind of protective response inside of him and all he wanted to do was reassure her that those thoughts just weren't true. "Ahem… Anyways Kiryu. I want you to wear that dress when we go to the party together. Don't argue with me about it. I refuse to go with a woman who dresses like a man, I have a reputation to uphold. The party is tomorrow right after sundown so don't be late. Unless you want get punished again." He said as he smirked at her over his shoulder.
Kaname then took his leave to meet up with Ichijo in the courtyard to help him finish with his party planning so that everything would be perfect. And even after Kaname left, Zero sat in the same spot still lost for words. She placed her fingers to her lips as she relived in her mind when their mouths were tangled together in savage compassion. She smiled slightly as she walked over to the mirror they had in their room and held the dress over her body as she tried to imagine what it would like on her. After hearing Kaname call her beautiful with such a passionate tone, she thought to herself that maybe wearing a dress wouldn't be so bad after all.
Author's Notes: Well there you have it! The long-awaited Chapter 4 of The Lost Daughter has finally been posted after a whapping 6 years! Let me just saying how sorry I am that it took me so long to even attempt to write this. I have always been fond about this story idea, but I guess my little 16-year-old brain had a short attention span and I never got around to writing more.
I hope you all enjoyed this new addition to the story and I hope that my improvement in my writing skills is reflected within the chapter! I tried really hard on it to be descriptive and that I used good grammar lol
Please leave a review so I know what your thoughts are about this latest installment, and even give me suggestions if you have a certain direction you want this story to go in! If I like it enough I just might include it in the plot!
But until next time, with much love~ Foxy! Xoxo
