I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to post an update! Long story short I am starting a new job here soon and was going through a lot with trying to get that sorted out and personal life problems too. Not going to lie this is probably not my favorite chapter I've ever written but hopefully you all like it! Thank you for the reviews they are greatly appreciated and give me motivation to keep writing!
Bo's POV
As soon as I had seen Lauren, I had felt a wave of relief crash over me knowing that at least physically she was alright. I didn't want to leave her here though. I turned to look at her and noticed she was staring at the ground after Lachlan had said she wasn't enough for me. I had felt my Succubus roar with anger internally at his words. It almost seemed as if my Succubus had grown attached to Lauren already. I shook my head and put a hand under Lauren's chin and tilted her head to meet my eyes.
"You are more than enough," I assured her and she smiled briefly. "Time for you to go Succubus," Lachlan told me coldly as he walked closer to us. "Not without Lauren," I told him firmly. I refuse to leave her here locked in a room with no windows or lights. "It won't be forever," he stated and stared at me his eyes almost black. I saw Lauren sigh and she looked defeated. "He won't keep me in here forever Bo, go talk to Tamsin if you are worried." Lauren said this as she pulled back from me.
"Lauren…" I reached for her and she smiled sadly at me. "This is how things are Bo, I'm sorry and I promise I will help you as soon as I am out of here," she assured me and I walked right up to her and put my hands on her shoulders. "I don't want to leave you here." She shook her head and smiled again. I felt every bone in my body fight the urge to grab her and run out of the room with her and not look back until I had her safely away from here. Lachlan sighed from where he stood.
"It won't be more than a week," he told me and I saw him look at Lauren who refused to meet his gaze. I can't leave her here. I felt my phone buzzing in my pocket but didn't pay any attention to it. "At least give her, her phone so I can make sure you aren't treating her worse than I can see you already do," I firmly said this as I looked at her and tried to smile reassuringly. "I can accept that," Lachlan walked over to us and handed Lauren her phone. "I will be checking on you as often as I can. If you need anything please call me Lauren, please." I told her and she nodded.
I want to kiss her. Screw Lachlan.
I pulled her close to me and very gently pressed my lips to hers for a brief kiss. I didn't even give her a chance to respond and pulled away. "See you soon Doctor," I told her and felt awful as Lachlan stood at the door and waited for me to walk out before he closed the door on Lauren. "I will kill you if you ever lay another hand on her. I know you hit her the other day." He looked surprised that I knew about that.
I stormed out of the Light Fae Compound and headed to the Dal to talk to Trick. I felt more anger than I knew what to do with at the idea of her just being stuck and not able to do anything. When I checked my phone, I noticed it had been Dyson that called me. I frowned and dialed his number.
"Bo! Thank God I was worried that you were going to do something that would end badly with how you were acting outside of the Light Fae compound earlier," he sounded relieved to hear my voice. I laughed. "Believe me if it had been up to me the Ash would be dead right now." There was a pause before Dyson spoke again. "Bo you can't hurt the Ash, that would put a huge bounty on you," he told me quickly. "He has Lauren locked up like a prisoner. He said she disobeyed him." I snarled into the phone. "Well, if she did then it is his right to punish her as he sees fit," he told me and I know he wasn't saying it to be rude but it made bile rise in my throat at how easily he said that.
"Goodbye Dyson." I hung up the phone and dialed Kenzi. "Bobo, hey! How's it going with Dr. Hotpants?" She asked curiously. "He has her locked up in a room below ground with no lights or windows!" I yelled and then felt bad. It's not Kenzi's fault after all. "Where are you?" She asked me calmly which was surprising as calm is not a word, I would use to describe her. "I'm going to the Dal, meet me there," I sighed, and she agreed and I hung up. I headed to the Dal and Kenzi was already there sitting at the bar getting a drink from Trick.
"Hello Bo, what can I get you?" He looked at me and had a smile on his face. "How can I get in contact with the Valkeryie Tamsin?" I asked him and his eyes widened. "She's a Dark Fae," he told me and folded his arms. "I can help with that Bobo, she gave me her number when you were hurt and she hung out with me while I waited to hear from Dr. Hotpants," Kenzi stated and held out her phone to me. I couldn't help but smile at her gratefully. "Lauren told me to talk to Tamsin if I was worried. Tamsin is her friend," I stated and took Kenzi's phone.
"Hey Little goth what's up?" Tamsin answered once I called her. "It's not Kenzi, it's Bo," I told her and heard her groan. "Great… what do you want?" She didn't sound too happy to hear from me. "Can you meet me at the Dal? Lauren told me to talk to you." I heard her stop breathing for a moment. "Fucking hell that Doctor," she grumbled. "I'll be there soon," she said and hung up. I handed Kenzi her phone back. "She's on her way," I told them and Trick sighed. "Bo please be careful you can't trust a Valkeryie." He warned me. I shook my head and turned to Kenzi.
Lauren's POV
I'm not enough for Bo. Why was I even entertaining the idea of being with her? I shook my head as I remembered the way she had ever so gently kissed me before she left. Lachlan hadn't hung around as soon as Bo walked out he followed without a word to me and left me alone with my thoughts… and I suppose my phone now thanks to Bo. I rubbed my face with my hands and sighed.
I wish I had met her sooner. I wish I had known Bo when I was first enslaved by the Light Fae. I shoved my hands into my lab coat and frowned when I realized there was a piece of paper in my pocket. I pulled it out and my eyes widened when I realized what it was.
It was the letter that Dyson had dropped. It was a letter for Bo.
I hesitated about reading it since it wasn't meant for me. I had heard the rumors that Dyson had given his love up for a Fae woman. Nobody had mentioned anything about who that woman was. It must've been Bo, the way he looked at her there is no way that it was for anybody else. Bo didn't look at him the same way he looked at her though. I groaned and unfolded the letter.
Not like I have anything else to do at the moment.
Bo,
I needed to write this to you because we need to talk. We have a lot to talk about actually and I haven't had the chance to speak with you one on one in a long time. There are things we need to discuss and I really want to do it in person. Please let me know when you are able to meet with me. I miss you Bo. I miss how it feels to kiss you and be close to you. I especially miss you in my bed. Anyway let me know I figured if I wrote you a letter and slipped it into your pocket somehow you'd think it was romantic.
Yours,
Dyson
Well that certainly confirms that at least. If Bo has Dyson though, why was she so interested in getting to know me? The look on her face when she got here earlier and argued with Lachlan made me wonder if she would do the same for Dyson. Not that he would ever be in the situation I am since he is Fae. I folded the letter and decided I would give it to Bo whenever I saw her again.
I felt my phone buzz and I looked down to see a text from Bo.
Please let me know how you are doing? I wish I could've just grabbed you and ran.
I smiled and typed out a response. I'm alright don't worry about me.
She instantly sent another text less than a minute after I responded. I can't help but worry about you. I can't explain it but I feel very protective of you.
I couldn't stop the huge smile that crossed my face. You're sweet, thank you Bo.
I wish I could leave here so much and go talk to her.
