Regina woke up the next morning determined. She wasnt going to spend her life with a drunk idiot of a husband. Em was still asleep as she finished getting ready for work. She made a quick breakfast for herself and was out the door.
A little while later Em woke to an empty was nowhere to be sat on the bed comtemplating what to do. "This town sucks" He thought to himself.
Since its the second day, he decided to familirize with the kitchen. Pulling out few eggs, bacon and bread from the fridge he whipped out a small breakfast for himself. Once breakfast was done he decided to see the town and may be make some new friends. If he is going to be stuck here for a while its best that he made some friends. Unfortunately, the first person he met was Leroy, the town's drunkard who gulps down bottle of his size every other day. Ofcourse the meeting ended up with Leroy's friends at the bar.
Regina came back to the mansion that evening to find it empty as she expected. She walked the kitchen to find the counter filled with egg shells, wrappers and empty carton of milk. She wanted to scream and yell but she composed herself. Regina was the most clean and organized person ever, but one look at her kitchen made her want to murder Em. An evil grin broke out as she locked the door and made way to the bedroom. After dinner she got ready for bed and waited patiently for her husband to ring the bell.
As usual Em rang the door bell completely drunk and barely standing. But Regina ignored.
"Open the door dammit.." Em yelled and started banging the door.
Regina buried her head in the pillows and closed her eyes. At some point the banging stopped. Regina sighed contently and drifted off to sleep.
Regina was rudely awakened by her phone. She looked over and noticed that it was Graham, the town's deputy sheriff. Groaning Regina took the phone " This better be an emergency sheriff or god knows what I will do" She gritted out.
"Hello, Madam Mayor, well you could say its kind of is..uhhh...your husband is in the station well I kind of had to arrest him ..." Graham dragged out the last part
"You what? For what ? " Sleep gone, Regina sat up straight.
"It would be better if you come over. is kind of violent " Regina could hear Em yelling at the deputy in the background and sound of things getting thrown away.
"Okay, I will be there in a few minutes " Regina sighed as she got ready.
She parked her car outside the station. Graham was talking to Em who was locked up in a cell. He was yelling at Leroy who was cuffed to a chair. Graham sighed and turned around to see Regina entering station. He walked over to her.
"Madam Mayor, thank god you are here " He added.
"What happened ?" Regina enquired.
"Well Mr. Swan's car kind of knocked down the town sign and when I reached these two were fighting. Mr. Swan claims he was indeed driving the car but Leroy here turned the steering all of a sudden saying that he saw a wolf in the middle of the road" Graham explained the situation as best as he could.
"That dwarf lied about the wolf " Em shouted from the cell.
"I did not lie , there was a wolf a big black wolf . " Leroy shouted back
"Oh yeah and how did you see, you couldnt reach the dash for gods sake " Em was furious, he was banging the cell door. "Let me out of here and I am gonna kill that son of a bitch right now"
"I would like you to see you try caveman " Leroy wasn't giving up.
"Shut up... just shut the hell up " Regina shouted as her hands balled up. She was so done with the hell this marriage has brought.
Everyone went quiet. "Graham, keep them locked up until they are sober and you can release them with penalty. I am not willing to compramise the town's law even its for my husband. Am I clear Deputy ?" Regina asked Graham.
"All clear Madam Mayor " Graham replied. Regina walked out of the situation not even bothering to look at Em or talk to him.
Em watched the whole scene without blinking an eye. "She's kind of scary " He commented once Regina was out of sight.
"That she is " Graham replied as he pulled Leroy up and put him the adjacent cell.
Em didn't come to the mansion even the next day. He decided to spend the day with Ruby. Regina decided to call Katherine and have some much needed talk after what happened last night.
"Regina, I don't understand what or where you are planning to go with this relationship ." Katherine asked after listening to her friend for the last few hours.
"Me neither, look you would do the same if you were in my place. How do you feel if someone comes to your house completely drunk and let alone sleep in your bed every fucking night? " Regina almost yelled the last part.
"I get it. But have you guys talked ? "
"No" Regina mumbled
"Like you guys have never talked ?" Katherin was shocked
"Well what's there to speak to someone who is barely conscious most of the time" Regina defended,
"This is bad Regina, dont get me wrong I could think from your side but I dont think your father will be happy if he finds out about it " Katherine added.
"Don't you dare. Daddy can never know. I have already made him go through hell, remember?"
"Yeah , I know. Let me do one thing, I talk to him " Katherine wasnt going to see her friend suffer more than she already have.
"Dont tell me I didnt warn you, that guy is a mess" Regina wasnt too sure but she let her friend call the shots.
Em came later that night as usual drunk. He rang the doorbell. The door opened to reveal Katherine standing there with arms folded over her chest and a questioning look on her face. Em was confused, he looked around and went over to check the house number. "Did I forgot the address, no its the same number. ...Who is she ?" He mumbled as he walked back to the door.
"Don't you feel ashamed to just walk in at this hour completely wasted ?" Katherine all but snarled at him.
Em stood there chuckling or rather mocking."Hey dont you feel ashamed to be at someone else's house at this hour ?" He countered.
"Regina is my friend and I am not going to let you spoil her life like this. She deserves much better " Katherine wasnt going to back dowm.
"Who said to stay? She can have much better. Just let me be, unless you want to be with me " He grinned and eyed Katherine.
Katherine was more than disgusted with his attitude that she could vomit now.
"Oh sorry, I am married but hey dont worry I have a friend. Wait let me call her." Em kept going as he pulled out his phone
"Hey dude, you said you dont have a girlfriend right? Here's one and man she is hot. Like soooo hot..." Em was talking on the phone with none other than Ruby who was almost knocked out in her hotel bed.
"Hey, what's your name? " Em asked Katherine slurring and swaying as he spoke." Never mind whats in a name right, I mean c'mon you are fine.. "
Katherine felt tears burn her eyes. She has never been this humiliated in her life. Regina came rushing " I told you not to interfere. Its my fate and I will deal with it. You go home." She rushed Katherine out the door before it could get worse.
Em smirked and walked inside without even a look. Regina was so pissed as it broke her heart to see her best friend leave crying. She slammed the door the shut. When she reached the bedroom she heard the shower runnin. Regina sat on the bed waiting for her "husband".
Em walked out of the bathroom having changed to fresh clothes. He turned the TV on and sat on the bed. Regina stood up and turned the tv off.
"Are you happy now ? What did she do to you ? Are you a monster or something because you clearly dont care about anyone not even yourself. You dont feel ashamed of coming to a house drunk to death every freaking night. I am done with you and your ways. Just so you know I am never forgiving you for what you did to Katherine" Regina let her anger out.
"You done ?" is all Em asked and walked over to switch the tv back on. Regina felt defeated. She turned around and laid on her side of the bed. Once again she found herself crying. As usual Em increased the volume not wanting to deal with this again.
Few hours passed, Em looked over to notice there wasnt any sound from Regina's side. He assumed that she stopped crying. He reduced the volume and watched the tv.
"THUD" few minutes later he heard a noise coming from Regina's side of the bed.
