Flashback Continues...

Daniel called Regina that day. He made sure to criticize her behaviour towards him and that he told her the truth. This provoked Regina. She even had her friends team up and call the customer service, requesting especially for Daniel. They ruined his entire day with random calls even scaring him by pretending as a cop, Daniel had the worst day of his life. By the end he was crying and his friend took him to the manager for resolution. The manager understanding the situation adviced to take a day off and relax. Daniel had switched of his phone with Regina constantly calling him. He turned it on as he was leaving from work and the first message came up was from Regina mentioning that she is waiting outside his office. Even though he was scared Daniel decided to face her. Surprisingly Regina apologized for her behaviour and admited that it was her fault. Daniel forgave her and there started a beautiful friendship.

Couple of days later Regina called Daniel to reveal that she liked him as more than a friend. In fact thats when she knew the feeling was mutual. Shortly after they were both dating. Daniel made Regina happy in more ways she could imagine. He made her see a world she never saw before. Regina was born to luxury but with Daniel everything was different. She started liking the simplest of things. His innocence and stupidity, the way he made her laugh and loved at the same time. Regina was falling for him and he was falling for her. They went places , explored things she never imagined she could. She was high as a kite, drugged in love.

A few months passed by they were madly in love with one another. It wasnt physical, their love was something words couldn't express. All they shared was a kiss yet it felt like they were connected by a super power. Imagine how devestating it would have been when Daniel was offered a job at a British airlines company. He was happy about the job, but the thought of leaving Regina here was too much to handle. Regina was happy for him but she wasnt ready to leave him yet, also she didnt want to stay in the way of his dreams. The couple spend days thinking of ways to make the relationship work. Finally Regina decided to present the matter in front of her father.

Henry is the best father one could ask for. Even after knowing why his daughter was bribing him with beer , he kept quiet and let his daughter say it. When Regina explained the situation, Henry stood with her. He even decided to meet Daniel's parents and speak with them about their relationship. Regina was so relieved when her father agreed for their relationship, not that she didnt knew it would happen but still she was nervous.

Meeting with Daniel's father didnt go well as planned. His father was a very proud farmer who had great expectations about his son. He made Daniel study and achieve his goal so that he can make his family proud. His father wasnt ready to tie him down with a millionaire daughter and spoil his life yet. Even though Henry tried his best, Daniel's father wasnt convinced. Defeated Henry suggested her daughter to get married secretly and when the time is right they can reveal to his family. Even though it didnt seem to be a bad idea, Regina wasnt sure if Daniel would agree to go against his family like that. When she told him about this she was shocked to know he too has thought about this. Having agreed mutually they decided to get married. Daniel wanted it to be discreet so he made Regina promise that she will not tell anyone not even her father. Regina agreed. She wanted this. She was madly in love with this man and she would stop at nothing.

The day of the wedding, Regina woke up early. She put on a nice dress and took a cab to the courthouse. She was probably the first on to reach there as most of the court staffs were only arriving. The clerk at the court house informed her that two weddings have been scheduled for the day. Hours passed by, the first wedding was at 10 in the morning and they left after the ceremony. At 12 the second wedding took place. Regina waited outside the courthouse an entire day but there wasnt any sign of Daniel. Last of the court staff left the building, Regina stood in the hallway, head hung low, tears streaming down her face. She was heartbroken and devestated. She lost track of time so much that she didnt notice her father's car pulling up.

Henry saw his daughter standing in the hallway all alone and wounded. It broke his heart. He slowly walked upto her. Put a hand on her shoulder and thats all Regina needed, she broke down. Hugging her father , she cried and Henry couldnt stand it. He kissed her forehead and tried to sooth her. Reluctantly Regina got into the car, but Henry knew she wasnt ready to go home yet. He decided to drive to the one place he could get answers to his daughter's cries: Daniel's house.

Upon enquiring Henry came to know that Daniel left the country and has gone to Europe for his training. Regina wasnt ready to believe it. Henry pulled some strings at the airport and was able to find out that Daniel indeed left the country that day. Regina lost it, she sobbed uncontrollably which made Henry sad and angry. He was helpless. They sat for hours inside the car parked on a quiet street as rain poured down outside. At some point Regina drained from the crying and fell asleep. When she woke up it was pretty dark outside and she looked up to see her father in the driving seat dozed off.

She shook him gently but Henry didnt move. Panic rose in Regina's mind as she franticly tried to wake her father. Regina drove them straight to the hospital when the third attempt to wake her father failed. She sat outside the ER totally defeated. The doctors informed that he had a minor heart attack and that they should be careful to not give any stress. Regina worked like a robot the next couple of days. Taking care of her father and helping her mother, she was exhausted with everything. That day when she was getting medicines for her father she receives a call from Daniel's old office friend. Tragedy struck her twice as he informed that Daniel commited suicide in his training camp. This time Regina fell. She fell on the floor , her whole body jerking and spasming violently. She almost died that day.

Even after coming back from the hospital Regina wasnt the same. She wouldnt talk or eat properly. Henry and Cora tried really hard to bring her back to normal but she sat in her room locked up. Months passed, years passed.

"Daddy, you look exhausted" Regina told her dad as he entered home from work.

"Sorry darling, have been working too much lately" He said quietly.

"I dont like the way you look. You need a shave daddy" Regina said softly.

"I dont like the way you look either honey. But what to do. I cant say anything that will make you go back to the way things were" Henry said shrugged.

"What do you want me to do daddy. Whatever you say I will listen, please just dont be like this " Regina almost pleaded. It broke her heart that she was the reason for all of this.

"Nah baby. If I say it, I will be just like every other father. Selfish" Henry replied

"Its okay daddy, you can tell me"

Henry sighed " Honey, I want you to move on and be happy. I want you to get married and not alone" he added with hope filled in his voice

Regina thought for a while" Daddy, I dont trust myself to make a commitment on my own. Why don't you find me someone who you trust? It doesnt matter whoever it is I will marry them. "

Henry smiled, atlast he has a chance to fix his daughter's broken heart.

End of flashback

Regina finished the story with tears running down her eyes. Em sat on the chair, listening. His eyes also filled up.

"Wow, I didnt know someone could love this much" A small smile of relief broke out his face. He left Regina to eat ,on the way to the door he turned back and asked:

"Can I get your number?" when he saw the confused expression on Regina's face he added " In case of emergency, if I had to call you "

Regina nodded and gave him her number. Em left her to rest as he smiled contently on the way out. May be its repsect or may be its a start of something beautiful.
