Rescue in the Nectar Meadow

The next morning, the new rescue team said goodbye to Kandia and the other inhabitants of the small town they were in (they were all very grateful for having defended them from the ruffians and gave them more food that would last them for three days more). .

"And remember," Kandia gave them as a last indication, "I suggest you go around the leafy forest and away from the nectar meadow."

After leaving the town, the travelers walked for a while through the wasteland on the outskirts, towards the hill and reached it after a few hours' walk. From the high peak, the place they had abandoned could be seen as a point in the distance. From the other end of the hill, they could contemplate the beauty of the landscape that lay in front of them: towards the bottom, furrowing the sky, a sea of white clouds and soft as cotton, they cover at short intervals, the warm and golden rays of the sun. Then, a meadow where beautiful spring flowers bloom: poppies, daisies, tulips...

However, their destination was a little further to the east, where a forest of leafy trees imposed itself on the road. As soon as they entered it, they could hear words:

"Hey I brought those acorns!"

It was a group of Patrat who were in the harvest season, while the smaller ones were playing among the branches of the tall poplars and thick oaks while a flock of Taillows takes flight in a majestic way. Observing the work of the Patrats and also the flowers in the meadow from a while ago, it didn't take long for them to deduce that it was definitely spring.

"Hey Luke…" Mina said looking at the bird Pokemon above the trees, "Shouldn't you be able to fly since you're a bird Pokemon?"

Actually, he was on Zack's back, who didn't mind carrying him too much. However, remembering that his passenger had wings, he also questioned it.

"Okay, okay" he said trying to calm things down and taking a slow flight. The problem was that he wasn't sure he could fly, but apparently he could do it slowly.

"At least you have wings," Dylan mentioned, "I don't know why I had to be a Froakie, I feel weird walking around like a toad."

"And you feel strange?" Rose questioned, "I have two lianas instead of arms and four legs."

"Well, it seems that the one that affects Rex the least is" Zack indicated, "How do you do it?"

"I have no idea" he mentioned, "Maybe after that battle I'll move more easily..."

But, before completing the sentence, they saw a stranger crossing the road: she was small and she only had two legs and a big sprout on her head. The group stood still at first; besides, they knew that she was a small person and she was outnumbered if she tried anything. However, their eyes never met, as this being went into the vegetation behind a very beautiful flower arrangement. For a minute, no one said go until Flora clarified:

"A Budew, isn't it? Wow, it seemed very small... maybe, it's a child?"

"Will they be one of those who live here?" Rex asked, "Or is he just passing through like us? He could give us directions"

"That's hard to tell," Zack commented, "Kandia and the others who lived in town seemed… well, town. How will we tell a wild Pokemon?"

"I think it will be better to question that later" shouted Luke, who, flying a little higher, saw the end of the forest ahead, "That's where we can exit"

Everyone enthusiastically headed out of the forest. The fields of exotic and aromatic flowers were beginning to thin out, indicating the end of the journey through the forest and the beginning of a new path, towards what seemed like a large spring, also surrounded by green fields, but not with as many flowers as the place where they had been.

However, before they headed towards a new destination, another Pokemon caught their eye: she was a Roselia, and she was running as if she was escaping from something while her face was quite concerned. Compared to the other, this one did see the group and headed towards them. Once up close, there was a difference: the expression was one of concern and there was nothing behind it, why was it like this?

"Help..." she said almost fainting. In that instant, Rose stopped him from falling with her stump whip.

"What's wrong miss?" Rose asked as everyone surrounded her.

"My little… Budew…" she said as she gasped for breath, "She's gone… to the… meadow…"

"To the nectar meadow?" Rex asked, "Hey, that must be that Budew we saw a while ago."

"Kandia told us not to go near that place" Dylan said, "It must be dangerous for someone so small… we must save her!"

They had been chosen for a reason: as soon as Dylan told them to go save her daughter Budew, they all agreed. However, Roselia was too weak to go with them.

"Mina and Luke" Rex told them proposing a plan, "You stay here to take care of Roselia. If something happens, Luke can go tell us."

"Okay" they both said.

Then, heading back to the path towards the woods, Rex, Dylan, Rose and Zack ran quickly through the trees and bushes, heading to the other side of it in hopes of finding Budew. The tall trees covered much of the sides and the place seemed like a veritable maze, but finally, they reached the other end and there it was: spreading out with its fresh and scented air, the meadow of nectar.

"Um…guys" Zack whispered.

They immediately understood why he was whispering: on top of the trees they had abandoned, there were cocoons…and not just any kind of cocoons, but Kakuna's. They had been lucky.

"Wait, if there are Kakuna cocoon…" Rose mentioned, "Are there also…?"

"…Beedril?" suggested Rex, "That explains the word 'nectar.' The Beedril collect nectar from the meadow. That's not good, Budew may be in grave danger…"

(In the meadow…)

Little Budew was advancing towards the center of the meadow with much nervousness.

"I don't think it was a good idea..." she thought like any child (in this case, a girl) lost, "But I want to help my mom... I need honey..."

But before she could take another step, three Beedrils and a Combee blocked his path. Immediately, the little girl fell backwards very scared.

"Quiet there intruder!" yelled one of the Beedril, "You've come to steal our honey, haven't you?"

"I don't want to steal... I just want to ask for a little..." Budew began to say, very scared.

"I knew it!" said another Beedril, "He wants honey! Intruder!"

"Please, she's a girl!" Combee complained, "She's incapable of doing something like that!"

"She Crossed the meadow line at this harvest time!" said the third Beedril, "She's a trespasser and we have rules for trespassers!"

"No Please!" Budew yelled in fright as she watched the three Beedril pounce on her.

"Vine Whip!"

"Bubbles!"

A strong Vine Whip hit the nearest Beedril causing it to slam into a tree and immediately, it was stuck against it due to the bubble attack. The third stopped short.

"I have you!" Rex yelled, jumping over him, "Scratch!"

But the insect was faster and dodged the last move.

"Spark!"

It was Zack's turn to attack and he launched himself directly at the third Beedril who also dodged the move taking more flight. Rose and Dylan helped Budew up.

"Are you okay?" he told her, "Your mom is worried"

"Do you know my mom?" asked little Budew surprised and grateful.

"Aaah!" yelled the first unstuck Beedril, "More intruders! Alert!"

When he said alert, at least half a dozen Beedril appeared from the trees. And they began to surround them, cornering them.

"Rex, this would be a good time to evolve, don't you think?" Zack suggested.

"Even if I could, it's risky" he replied, "If I use fire attacks, even Ember I'll end up burning down the meadow..."

Before they could do anything else, the Beedrils charged at them and they had to duck to avoid the pincers on their arms.

"Vine Whip!" Rose attacked, but the Beedril were too many and moving so fast that it was difficult to aim. Also, grass-type attacks did almost no damage to them.

"Spark!"

"Scratch!"

Rex couldn't use fire attacks because of that flammable place, while Zack couldn't hit any of the Beedrils because it was a matter of aiming for one and dodging the other. On his part, Dylan was trying to dodge the Beedrils as he led Budew out of the circle.

"They won't escape!" shouted a Beedril, "Fury Attack"

The furious attack hurt Dylan and separated him from Budew while another Beedril, seeing the little girl unprotected, lunged at her.

"Budew!" Dylan yelled as he tried to get in the way. Just then, new device-phone started to glow. Just like Rex, Dylan's body began to change as he glowed brightly. His height increased and he stood up straighter.

"Froakie evolves to... ¡Frogadier!"

The evolution is complete: from Froakie to Frogadier.

"Hammer Arm!"

Dylan jumped faster than the Beedril could fly and hit it with the full force of his new move, sending it flying.

"Fine!" Rex yelled seeing how the situation had changed.

For their part, the Beedrils had gone wild shouting: "Intruder! Intruder!"

They pounced on Dylan, but he split into many copies and confused them. It was another move: Double Team. The Beedrils attempted to strike each of the copies, but were unsuccessful in finding the real one.

"Bubble Beam!"

From above, Dylan blasted a burst of concentrated bubbles at all of the Beedrils from a blind spot to them, hitting each one without doing much damage to the meadow (since it was a water move). The Beedrils dropped like insects sprayed with insecticide.

"Very well done!" Rose congratulated her when Dylan returned with them.

"So this feels like evolving..." he said, looking at his body. But, precisely at that moment, he returned to the pre-evolution, "Oh... no"

"Look!" Zack pointed out.

The Beedrils started to get up and were quite upset. The boys had to come up with a plan...

"Stop!" a voice yelled.

The Beedrils stopped immediately upon hearing the voice. The others saw the Combee from a few minutes ago accompanied by a Vespiqueen.

"Queen Vespiqueen!" the Beedrils said as they stepped to the side, "Excuse me... we have intruders!"

The queen looked at the group, more specifically at little Budew.

"Have you come to steal our honey?" asked the queen.

"No, Your Majesty…" Little Budew spoke, "I… I just wanted some honey for my mom… I heard it's very nutritious"

"I knew it! Intruder!" said one of the Beedril as the others also became alert.

"Everyone stay quiet!" the queen yelled at them, "You will only get defeated like just now. This girl only had intentions of helping her mother."

Then, she handed her a jar with some honey inside of it.

"Take this, but don't put yourself in danger again," she told her, "You're still a kid."

"Thank you very much, Your Majesty" Budew thanked.

"And you…" Vespiqueen continued, looking at the rest of the group, "Are you a rescue group? How are they called?"

"Um…" the four said.

"We are… the Poke Destiny team" said Rex thinking fast, "We came to save Budew"

"Well," he said as he handed them another jar of honey, "This is your reward for realizing that my subordinates are too crazy. I'm going to have a long talk with them. You take Budew to her mother"

"Thank you very much, Your Majesty" Rose thanked as she took the jar of honey and put it in the backpack.

(Minutes later…)

The group met again with Mina and Luke, who in turn was with Roselia, already recovered and happy to see her daughter again.

"Thank you, thank you very much for saving my little girl" Roselia thanked them, "Budew, why did you go to such a dangerous place without saying anything?"

"I'm sorry mom..." little Budew tried to apologize.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Roselia," Dylan told her, "The important thing is that she's safe."

"Yes… it's true…" Roselia realized, "Thank you very much. See you soon"

When they both left, Rex, Dylan, Rose and Zack told what had happened in the nectar meadow and the battle they had. As they did so, they made their way back out of the forest as they made their way to their next destination: a peaceful spring.
