Two flashbacks in a row, I hope I am not boring you guys :)

Flashback

Ruby's uncle had a bakery in Boston, she used help him in run errands after her college hours.

"Ruby, I want you to get something for me from an old friend of mine" He uncle asked her one day.

"Cmon uncle, its my favourite band's concert today and it will start in few hours" Ruby whined.

"It will only take ten minutes. Just go to the address and collect the cheque thats all" He tried to reason.

"Fine, but for this time only. I am not doing it again "

"Okay, okay"

Em was outside Ruby's uncle's house waiting for her in his car.

"We need to make a quick stop at this address on the way." Ruby told Em as she entered the car.

"Cmon Red, the concert starts in an hour" Em rushed a bit angry

"Please bro, it will only take ten minutes. Just this once, for me" Ruby started to give her friend the puppy dog eyes which she knew he will sure fall for.

"Argggg...I hate it when you do that. Fine, just this one" Em agreed reluctantly.

"Thank you...thank you. Now lets go "

Five minutes later they reached the address Ruby's uncle gave her. An old lady opened the door. She asked them to wait in the living room so that she can get the cheque. While waiting, they heard jazz music playing in the house and a girl came out of the kitchen, swaying her hips and dancing to the music. Her back was turned against them so she didnt see Em or Ruby sitting there. She was so engrossed in herself that she almost dropped her coffee cup as she turned around all of a sudden and saw them. Em has been looking at the girl's ass the moment she came swaying her hips and when she turned around, his eyes lit up like a christmas tree. He had the biggest smile on his face and his whole mouth was wide open as he laid eyes on the girl. The girl smiled sheepishly and ran inside. Ruby pulled her friend back to sit when she know he was going to follow her. They collected the check and went out or rather Ruby pushed Em out the door. That was the first time Em saw he, Lily. It was love at first sight for him.

During the concert Em's mind was racing back to the girl he saw just a while ago. He was lost in her that he tore the cheque he had in his pocket and made it rain assuming that it was another piece of color paper they were using to cheer the stars of the show. Before Ruby could stop him the cheque was shredded.

The following days Em has been forcing Ruby to convince her uncle to let them collect the cheque again. He wanted to see the girl once more. Ruby somehow convinced her uncle that they will collect the cheque again. Both Ruby and Em visited the house next day. The girl was locking the door and leaving for work by the time they reached there.

"My aunt is not here, she has gone out of town and will only return after week. You can come then" The girl informed as she was in a hurry.

"Hey, what's your name?" Em asked the girl

She turned around "Why you wanna know? I am not telling you." She said as she got in a car that stopped in front of her.

Em liked how challenging she was." But I know where you are working" Em replied as he pointed out to the dance school logo painted outside the car.

The girl tried to cover the logo with her hands but it was of no use. Em waved the girl smiling.

The next few days he and Ruby has been on a mission to find her workplace. It was not easy as the dance school had about fifteen branches alone in Boston. But with the help of some friends he was able to find her. He found out her name in Lily and she was a dancing instructor for kids. He pulled up the courage and told her that he likes her. Lily pointed out to a guy who worked with her as her boyfriend which broke Em's heart. The next thing she knew was Em beating the crap out the guy to leave her. That's when he knew that he wasnt even her boyfriend.

"Are you nuts? You do anything you feel like huh ?You wanted the cheque right. Here take it and leave me alone." She threw the cheque in his face .

"You had the cheque with you all this time and you made us run around" Em asked her curious.

"Listen you idiot, I dont like you at all. Now you got your cheque so leave me be. I have nothing to do with you " With that she left him standing there confused and heart broken.

Em was super drunk that night and he drove straight to Lily's house. When Lily looked out of the window she saw Em shouting at the closed door. She opened the door in time to see him passout on the steps. She contemplated whether to leave him there or take him inside. Since it was chilly outside she dragged him inside and laid on the carpet. She sat on the couch looking at his sleeping form. The truth was Lily liked Em from the first time they saw. She deliberately kept the cheque in her hand even though her aunt gave it a week ago, just to see him follow around her. She was shaken out of her thoughts by Em's phone ringing. Ruby's name popped on the screen and Lily asked her to pick Em up from her place.

Em spend the night at Ruby's place. His phone rang while he was sleeping and Ruby picked it up. Lily informed her to ask Em to meet her at a coffee shop in the evening. That day Lily admitted to like Em. That was the beginning of romance. Lily was special to Em. She had lots of struggle in her life which made him want to protect her. Lily's parents died in a car accident when she was only five. Before knowing about her aunt in Boston, she spend ten years in foster care and group homes with no one to love. Em cried when she asked him to hold her as she slept the night of her birthday just because she wanted to feel loved. He knew he was falling for her and he never regreted it. He was so happy when he found out that Lily felt the same way about him. An year passed by and their love only got stronger. Em couldnt wait any longer, he proposed to her on a valentine's day and she was more than happy to say yes.

A week later the proposal Em decided to take her out on a movie. After the movie Lily was craving ice cream. She spotted her favourite icecream truck outside on the street. While Em talked on the phone, she went to buy the ice cream. But things went down when a speeding car hit Lily on her way back. Her head hit the car's front and she was dragged a few metres on the road. Em was watching this , his eyes couldnt believe what he was seeing. Realisation hit him like a ton of bricks as he ran towards her. Paramedics arrived and they were trying to revive her heart. She was covered in blood. Tears streamed down Em's face as he watched the chest pads made contact with her body. Once...twice and the third time it flat lined. The paramedic shook his head. Lily's lifeless body laid there in front of him. Em couldnt move. He couldnt speak. He was dead inside. And then he screamed and cried. Ruby was just in time to catch her friend as he fell down knees first on the road crying for his love. He cried like a child and she didnt had the heart to stop him.

Flashback end.

"Ever since then, he has been drinking. It took me five years to convince him to move on. Every year he would go to the street that same day. He would stand there and cry. " Ruby told Regina and wiped tears that escaped her eyes.

"Wow, I didnt know someone could love this much " Regina was crying now. Eyes tearing up on their own as she thought about how he might have felt.

Ruby dragged Em into the bedroom and helped him get comfortable. Regina watched as he slept. Once Ruby left, she went to check on Em and she found him mumbling in sleep.

"I...take...Regina...my wife" she felt hot tears rolling down her face.
