Thursday morning, Linda met with Sabrina and Derek. Both Derek and Sabrina noticed that Linda did not look good.

"Mom, you okay?" Sabrina asked, going into the doctor's mood

"Yes, I have a slight fever," Linda replied

"Mom"

"Sabrina, I am fine. First, to look over the wedding plan," she said; walking into the kitchen, Sabrina stood up and walked out of the dining room, grabbed her phone out of her purse, and called the hospital, saying that she would not be in today. And then she calls her father at work.

"Hi, princess"

"Hi, daddy. Um, dad, did you know that mom has a slight fever?"

"Yes, I know, princess; she told me to go work."

"Dad, she doesn't look good."

"Princess, you don't have to tell. I have to go; your sister and brother walk into my office."

Sabrina walked back to the dining room, and Linda said, "What did your father say?"

"Mom, I am concerned for you right now."

'Sabrina, I am fine; I could be getting a cold."

Sabrina did not argue with her mom, and they began to look over the wedding plans as the wedding was fast approaching. Linda stood up and went down like a ton of brick; Sabrina and Derek rushed to her and began to attend to her. Derek pulls out his cellphone and calls for an ambulance.

"Mom?" Sabrina said, but no response from her mother

"Yes, this is Dr. Derek Jerome; I need an ambulance," Derek said as Sabrina felt her mom's forehead, and she was burning up.

"My God, honey, she is hot," she replied. Next, Derek touches his future mother-in-law.

"Shit, she is burning hot," he said just then they heard the ambulance arrive.

Derek went to open the door. A few minutes later, the E.M.S. comes into the dining room and attends to Linda as Sabrina and Derek look on. They load Linda on the stretcher and then wheel it out of the house, with Sabrina and Derek following them. E.M.S. loaded Linda into the ambulance, Sabrina climbed in, and the doors closed while Derek got in his car. The ambulance sped down the circular driveway with the siren blaring through the gates and then sped off toward the hospital. Sabrina calls her dad's cellphone.

"Yes, princess"

"Dad, you need to meet me at the hospital."

"Hospital?"

"Yes, dad, I am with mom. She is being rushed to the hospital right now," she replied

"Oh my god," he said, standing. Stephanie and Vincent looked at him.

"Dad, you there?"

"Yes, princess, I am here. We are on our way," he said

"Dad, what's going on?"

"Your sister is rushing your mother to the hospital right now."

They rush from his office down the hallway to the elevator and press the button for the elevator. The doors slide open, and they rush onto the elevator and press the button, and then it goes down to the ground floor. When the elevator reached the ground floor, the door slid open. Vince, Stephanie, and Vincent rushed out of the elevator to their cars. They got in their cars and sped out of the underground garage and toward the hospital where Sabrina, Derek, and Jack worked. When they finally arrived at the hospital, they parked, their cars exited them, and rushed into the hospital.

"I'm Vince McMahon. My wife Linda McMahon was rushed here by my daughter Dr. Sabrina McMahon."

"I can't find the blank insurance forms," the younger intern nurse said

"I'd like to see my wife."

"File cabinet top drawer," the nurse said

"McMahon? McMahon"

"Yes, Linda McMahon"

"Here you go, Mrs. Collins."

"I'd like to see my wife?"

"Mrs. McMahon is being prepped for surgery."

"Surgery?"

"Yes, sir, surgery."

Dr. McMahon and Dr. Drake to an emergency, please."

Over the hospital P.A. System Dr. Wagner, please call extension 32. Dr. Wagner, please call extension 32.

They waited for word from Linda; women's voices came over the P.A. System, Dr. Jones, to an emergency. Vincent spotted his sister Sabrina walking toward them with another doctor talking about Linda's condition a few minutes later.

"Dad," Sabrina said

"How's your mother, princess?" he asked, sounding scared and worried for his wife.

"Dad, this is Doctor Patricia Drake."

"Hi, Mr. McMahon, I'll be operating on your wife, Linda."

"Can we see her?"

"Right now, Mr. McMahon, that's not possible."

"Well, they said we could see her."

"Dad, listens to Doctor Drake, please."

"Sorry, princess, I am scared right now for your mother."

"I know, dad, but listen to the doctor."

"Okay."

"This is the situation Linda's appendix has ruptured, causing her to run a fever. Under normal circumstances, we try to bring the fever down before we operate."

"But?"

"But there appears to be an obstruction of the intestines, which means we can't wait for the fever to come down. So we have to operate now."

"Is that dangerous? I mean, is it dangerous?"

"I cannot tell you not to worry. You'll do that anyway. I am wife, too, Mr. McMahon. Of course, there are dangers associated with any surgery, but I can assure you that this is not an uncommon procedure."

"How long does it take?"

"Well, it usually takes about two hours. And when it's over, I'll come out and talk to you, and then you can see Linda in the recovery room."

Sabrina walked away with Doctor Drake.

Stephanie said, "She's gonna be an all right dad."

"I hope so, princess; I cannot lose your mother. I would be lost without her."

They walk toward the elevator, press the button, and the door slide open, and they step onto the elevator. Stephanie for the button for the seven floors, and then the door slid closed and went up the seven floors. When the elevator arrived, the elevator door slid open, and Stephanie walked out of the elevator, first followed by her brother Vincent and then Vince. They walked down the hallway toward the waiting room and then walked in and sat down on the couch in the waiting room, waiting for word on Linda's condition. A nurse brought forms to Vince, who began to fill them out when another nurse came over and said, "Mr. McMahon?

"Yes, something wrong?"

"Oh, no, well, your insurance card's expired," the nurse said; they looked at her.

"That cannot be," he said

"I am sure that my mother paid that bill last month."

"Are you sure?"

"What do you mean, am I sure? My parents have the canceled check at home."

"There's an 800 number on the back."

"I'll call 'em," Vince said

"No, dad, you sit down. I will call them."

"When you finish these forms, you'd just return to the admissions desk."

"I know the future of medical science depends on knowing my mother-in-law's maiden name. I can't believe this. My wife is in surgery, and I am taking S.A.T.S."

"Dad, relax, forget about the forms. That's just their way of having people sit down and shut up."

"Whatever happened to the ether?"

"What are you talking about? My mother mailed you that check last month. I do not know what day she mailed it, but I know you got it. Listen, I am in a hospital where my mother is being operated on. I do not have the canceled check. "

Yeah, I'll hold. "

"Oh, damn"

"Why this morning, of all morning, did I have to go work?"

"Dad, you didn't know how sick mom was this morning."

"I know, son, but still, I have stayed at home and not gone into the office."

"Yes, I do. No, no, because you cashed it"

"Yeah, that's right, you cashed it" Vince stood up and walked over to Stephanie began to yell.

"I have that canceled check at home because I check my checkbook every time we write out a check."

"Somebody there did because my parents have the canceled check at home with your company's name."

"Right, and just ask for the supervisor."

"Look, let me talk to somebody else there, all right? Yeah, I'll hold."

"Here, princess"

"Here. Good luck"

"Hello, this is Mr. McMahon. M-c-M-a-h-o-n yes"

"M" as in "mom," "c" as in "cat", "m" as in "Michael," 'a' as in "apple" "h" as in "Henry" "o" "oaf" and "n" as in "numskull."

Stephanie and Vincent chuckle at their dad, spelling their last name and the words, especially numskull.

"I feel useless, Vinny's mom getting operated on."

Vincent looked at his sister and said, "Steph, what do you want to assist?"

"I hate waiting."

"I hear Steph."

A man's voice comes over the P.A. System Nurse Berman to Maternity

"What'd they say?" Vincent asked

"Everything okay? They just spelled the name wrong."

A Woman's voice came over the P.A. System Dr. Jones to an emergency. Vince stood you, walked out of the waiting room toward the nurse station, and said, "Excuse me?"

"Yes, Mr. McMahon," a nurse said

"I'd like to know what's going on with my wife, Linda?"

"The appendectomy"

"Yes"

"Mrs. McMahon is doing okay."

'"Thank you"

"You're welcome, Mr. McMahon."

Vince walked back into the waiting room and said, "It's supposed to be over by 12: 30."

Patricia walked into the waiting room and said, "Mr. McMahon?"

Vince turned around, saw Dr. Drake, and said. "Is my wife alright?"

"She's fine, Mr. McMahon," Dr. Drake said.

"Thank you, Dr. Drake," Vince said with a smile

"You're welcome. Linda is in recovery."

"Can we see here?" Vince asked

"Well, she is just coming out of anesthesia, but I can take you in to see her," Dr. Drake said as they followed her out of the waiting room and toward the recovery room.

Sabrina was in the recovery room checking on her mom's vital signs and then writing them down on Linda's chart. Linda slowly regained consciousness.

"Hmm"

Sabrina smiled and said, "Hi, mom."

"Sabrina," Linda said, groggy.

Vince, Vincent, and Stephanie walked into the recovery room and over to the bed.

"Sabrina"

"Yes, mom"

"Why am I hearing a beep sound?" Linda asked groggily

"You're in the hospital. I have to operate on you," Sabrina teases her mom.

"That's illegal," Linda said, groggy

"Linda," Vince said

"Hi, honey"

"Hi, honey"

"Hi, mom," Vincent said

"Hi, son"

"Hi, mom"

"Hi, sweetie," Linda said, groggy

"Does it hurt?" Sabrina asked

"I cannot feel anything," Linda replied, groggy

"Can you feel this?" Sabrina said, leaning over the bed railing and kissing her mom on the forehead

"Yes," Linda said, groggy.

"Good," Sabrina said, looking up at the monitor monitoring Linda's heart.

"Vince, you're not anywhere now, right? I mean, you're going to stay right here."

"Oh, yeah, I'm here for the rest of the day and tonight."

"Thanks, honey"

"You're welcome, love, and there is no other place I would rather be right now."
