About a week later, Aaron and his brother Sean were moving into the spare room at the Rossi residence. They were going to be staying for about two weeks.

It was currently just Emily at home with Aaron and Sean. Derek was at football practice, Spencer was at chess club, Penelope was doing a coding class, and David had made a grocery run with Jennifer after picking her up from school.

Sean was playing with the legos that he had brought with him from his house.

Emily and Aaron were working on their homework.

Aaron didn't know whether or not he was nervous or excited about meeting his girlfriend's siblings for the first time. The sibling relationship was an interesting one and you never quite know how they are going to react to meeting their sibling's significant other. Even if it's the younger siblings. Sometimes younger siblings are protective because they don't want to share their older sibling. Especially sisters. Boys are more chill. Usually.

"What do you want for dinner?" Aaron asked, looking up from his Econ homework.

"My dad is making spaghetti carbonara."

Aaron's eyes widened in shock, "Your dad actually cooks?"

Emily nodded, "Yeah. And on Fridays, we make homemade pizza."

"Wow! My dad never cooks. Usually Sean and have cereal or sandwiches or something."

David walked through the front door with Jennifer speeding out in front of him, yelling 'Emmy!'.

"Hey Jaybird." Emily greeted with a smile as she hugged her sister.

Jennifer glared at Aaron, "Who are you?"

"Um...I'm Aaron."

"Jay, this is my boyfriend. The father of your niece and nephew."

Jennifer hummed, "Oh. I have homework." She didn't look to happy about meeting Aaron.

After her sister left the room, Emily just waved off Jennifer's reaction, "Don't worry about her. She'll warm up to you."

"Sure." He smiled.

Aaron went back to doing their homework, while David was in the kitchen putting the groceries away.

"Hey Dad." Emily called out

"Yeah." David replied, turning his focus on his daughter, "Do you need something, Em?"

Emily shook her head, "No. How was work today?"

"Easier than most days." He said

David never really talked about his work with his kids, at least not any details. But Emily would still ask him about his day, and he would simply say if the day was good or bad.

"That's good." Emily told him

"So how was school?" David asked

Emily shrugged, "Eh, same as always. It's getting harder as I get bigger."

After putting the groceries away, David headed to his office to work on some paperwork. About an hour later, Derek arrived home with Penelope and Spencer.

Penelope and Spencer ran off together, while Derek headed over to Emily and Aaron. He was staring at Aaron, almost as if to ask 'who are you?'.

Aaron extended his hand towards Derek, "I'm Aaron."

"Oh...so...you're E's boyfriend and the father to my niece and nephew. I'm Derek." He replied, giving Aaron's hand a firm shake. He leaned down and whispered in Aaron's ear, "If you hurt my sister, I'll kill you."

Aaron just faked a laugh, "It's nice to meet you, Derek."

"You too, Aaron." Derek said, walking passed him and giving Emily a fist bump as he passed by her.
